*Alex got upm and ran into the kitchen*
I hope you like this dinner, Cora. Its seems kinda odd, but I couldn't think of anything really good with any meat in it. It'll seem a bit strange without SOME sort of meat, I suppose... But if its a disappointment, I'll just have to bring you back and cook for you again.

:::Cora smiled despite her worrisome thoughts at Alex:::
Really, I can't wait to try what you make for me. I'm excited. I also hope that I will like it. I can't say I've eaten too much food outside my own time frame, so I don't really know what I will enjoy.
:::It was phenominal that Cora began to think of food as something you enjoy, not just something you need:::

*Alex leaned in and gently kissed Cora*
Now, what would you like to talk about?

:::Cora just sat there wide eyed for a moment. In her anxiousness, she hardly expected anything like that... plus, that sort of idea made it harder to bring up any not-so-happy subjects:::
Uhm... I...I don't know.
:::She said, unable to stop grinning sheepishly, now looking at her hands again:::

You're so bashful, its cute. Would you rather watch some TV?

:::She looked over now pursing her lips in disappointment before speaking, though still not raising her head:::
Actually I think I'll have to abstain. THe volume levels on that thing began to interfere with my nominal auditory functions and I began to feel pain around the upper cerebrum. I had to administer nuero pain inhibitors... I'd rather not allow the cause to continue.

*Alex shook his head* That's because you had it too high. What you do is tune the volume to a nominal point and then keep it there. That way it doesn't induce pain. Sure you don't want to give it a go? My favorite show is on.

Favorite?
:::She wasn't sure what he meant really, but it was apparent that something he liked very much was there in the broadcast, so she thought she'd try to see what it was he enjoyed about it:::
Alright!

*Alex turned the volume up to a lower, but still watchable level, he flipped the channel and the intro to the show started right up*
Oh, perfect timing. You might like this show, Cora. Its called Law & Order. It's about cops, investigating crimes, and lawyers like myself prosecuting the criminals to make certain that justice is served. Its not really a hundred percent accurate, but it may give you a clue as to what I do.

OOoo... like a documentary?
:::Her eyes were once again glued to the images coming out of the television, allowing them to saturate her thoughts and memory as though she was a sponge. She was ready to get a first hand look at what the justice system of the past entailed. A little wary though, she'd learned that it was almost entirely sensless, though a step up from barbaric at this time::::
Interesting...
:::She let go under her breath, and got ready for the show to begin:::

*Alex pointed at a surly overweight cop and his hot tempered wisecracking partner as they arrive at the scene of a double homicide*
The Cops are my best friends. They find the culprits and bring me the evidence I need to prove that the criminal commited the crime. In fact, I know a few cops who act a lot like these two. Its kinda funny

:::Cora gasped in dread at the large man...she'd never seen anyone outside of peek physical condition before:::
Oh my goodness!! Alex, what is wrong with that man!? His body is...what...is that obiesity??

Yup. That's exactly what it is. Exactly. Its a common problem at this point in time.
*Alex points at the TV as the cops go around, questioning people*
And here, they are gathering information. Typically, cops have very little to go on. They often have to rely on the help of decent law abiding citizens for additional necessary information and clues that may lead them to catch the suspect.
