Looking at the trailer, I guess that the 5 identical party members will eiter be Weavers or somme Farmer-looking guy whit strange hat...

i thought kawano's costume designs were tacky compared to ishikawa... plus ishikawa's art looks more solid and definitely more lovable. i guess they gave gs4 to kawano since it was linked to gs1 and gs5 to ishikawa because it was linked to gs2 character-wise.

Well it's official. Suikoden will be making its way Stateside.

And I thought that you could choose between two characters to play neutral Or am I thinking of Rapsodia? Lol.

Y'know, I really shouldn't be reading this in the library. People keep giving me funny looks. Probably because of my excited sqeals..........maybe. Heh.

rofl I sure hope they make this more detailed than 4, and more thrilling than 3...in fact...more thrilling than 3 and 4 put together, since both didn't do much for me...I wouldn't mind it be after #1...and I really wish they'd knock off the pre-quals, but that's just me. The experience from #4 really drove me off from the Suikoden prequals.

#4 had a massive feeling of "Must include this in this game!!!" constantly plastered over everything. Like they had tons of new ideas, and tried squeezing them all into one game--forgetting that there needs to be a good plot.

#3 also had the problem of no voices, but long, drawn out conversations. I don't mind that at all, at least, as long as it isn't on a Xenogears scale...what I do mind is that it got redundant at some points. You would finish one conversation just to walk to the next room for another. xp

#2, being on the top 5(#3) list of rarest PS1 games PERIOD, and top 20(#14) list of most wanted RPGs of all time--good luck finding it. It sells for $200+ on Ebay, and I've seen it STARTED at $300 before (sold for $400). This game is REDICULOUSLY wanted; this makes me wonder why the series isn't more popular...lol. Anyway, this game was the best, inho, because of the character development and the balance of combo attacks + rune stuff. Notice how they generally got rid of twin/combo attacks in #3 (though they had something similar), and got rid of it nearly all together in #4. They need to go back to the basic #2 principals and build from there; no idea why they thought taking nearly all of the COOLEST runes out from this one was a good idea. (ie: darkness, ressurection, upgrade runes like rage and flowing, and the like.)

#1 is just that--the first and probably my most nostalgic moment in my thoughts. That damned zombie dragon took me 3 hours to beat the first time I played it crying .

....the zombie dragon wasn't really that hard, was it? I took a hefty 10 minutes to whoop its behind, but that was the maximum. Of course, it could be because I've always trained up till around Level 10 before even facing the Queen Ant, but that's mostly as a safeguard so I don't die that easily in field battles.

Luca was pure hell the first time I faced him- he killed off everyone in Viktor's group, ALMOST everyone in Flik's group, and annihilated my group like there was no tomorrow. That, of course, warranted a rematch after much training up (I made sure all my character were at least Level 40 and that my strongest mage was in the correct position).

Looking back at it now, Luca is actually rather easy to defeat, as long as your characters are above a certain level with the male characters wielding a handy Fire Emblem. I still fear the Beast Rune more compared to him.

Maybe it's because my sister has replayed Suikoden II for about....12+ times and ever ytime, I whoop Luca's Highland behind but am never there when she whoops the Beast Rune's silver behind. Hmm.



He -has- to be younger in Suikoden V because of the timeline thing. The assassination of the Falena queen happened before he came to the City-State of Jowston, and it would strange if he went back to a country where he's wanted for a royal assassination.

Besides, he looks younger, and has NO wrinkles. I'd say he's younger, meaning, set before Suikoden I.



Well, if it is Lorelai who was sighted in the trailer, 50% says that Killey won't be far. Of course, as put forward by Sophita (at the Harmonia Online forums), the Lorelai-lookalike (alliteration! biggrin ) could be an ancestor of Lorelai's as Lorelai was rather young in Suikoden II. Yet again, this is merely speculation.

And, er- incidentally, Chibi Viki, would you be Chibi Viki of the Fullmetal Alchemist forums? sweatdrop

...............Actually, I felt sorry for Luca. I hated him, but I felt sorry for him. Especially after I read why he hated his father and sister so much.
