She smiled. Good, she wasn't going to have something if it wasn't pretty. Well that wasn't entirely true. She'd still keep if it wasn't pretty, she did steal it after all there was no point in putting it back, but she wouldn't keep it with her. "Alright Lucky, let's get outta here before someone comes!" She said not caring to keep her voice down at all. The job was done if anyone came down it was just a matter of slowing them down so the two could escape.
With one last look at the hide-a-way tree she raced off beating her wings against the air to help extend her strides. When they were far enough from the trees she was going to find something to celebrate with. Maybe apples, or some of those sweet cubes the two-leggers often had with them. Yeah! Every thief needed to have a good party after each heist and if they didn't they were just lame. Carmine was not going to be lame.

"M'kay." Now that this little heist was over, yea, there really was no need to be quiet anymore. They had got what they were somewhat looking for. Well, they had come looking for something but they weren't sure what it was they would find. If the owner of the necklace came looking for it now, all they had to do was make sure to get away fast enough. But it didn't really matter now. Lucky hadn't seen or heard anyone about.
Taking a hoof, he covered the hole back up the best he could with some dirt, leaves and twigs. Trying to give it the illusion that no one had been there. But it was a pretty big hole by now! After finishing that up the colt took off after Carmine. Watching her flap her wings with a grin. His stomach was telling him it was about time to eat with its little grumbles and burbles. Thieving sure makes you hungry!

As she left the forest behind her she started to look about for one of the fruit baring trees her father often took her too. When she couldn't see one she came to an abrupt halt and tucked her wings back to her sides. "Hmmm...I hear grass is pretty tasty this time of year!" She said with a smile not wanting to admit that she had no idea where to go for the real tasty treats.
She looked down at the green blades under her hooves and made a sort of face. Grass was nice and all but it was a constant thing in her life. Not at all suited for a celebration. It didn't seem to matter to her stomach though as it began to growl at her. Carmine grumbled back. She was hungry but...didn't really want to eat.

Siding up next to Carmine, Lucky looked from her to the grass then back to her. "Yea, I guess. But theres nothin' like some apples!" Man, he could of gone for one right about now. But the trees were always too tall for him to get any from. Not like he saw any apple trees nearby in the first place. His father hadn't taught him much about the different fruit trees that grew around here so he really had no clue how to 'find' an apple tree let alone get the apples down.
Lucky looked up towards the tops of the trees in the distance. A small pillar of smoke curled up to the sky from deep within the green tree tops. What was it that his father told him about these smoke thingies? Oh! Two leggers usually gathered their herds around these things. Or even solitary two leggers to. And where there were two leggers there was food. And where there was food there were apples! "Hey hey, I know where we can get somethin' better if your up to another adventure."

Carmine's ears perked up like this. Another adventure followed by something tasty sounded great when compared to everyday grass. Actually it just sound great in general. "Better...like apples?" She asked hopefully bowing her head to peer around the colt. She wondered vaguely if he knew this area or if he had just seen something she had missed. It didn't really matter, if they got their rewards who cared how it was found? When she found she still could see nothing she lifted her head and smiled at her friend.
"Alright! We'll change jobs for a sec and you be the boss. So lead the way to the next adventure boss man!" She said cheerfully despite the fact that resigning from her position of leader made her feel a bit sad. Next time she'd have to do a thorough check of the area so she wouldn't have to back out of leadership again.

"Apples, indeed!" He grinned. Lucky liked apples better than grass anyday anyway. Though his mom always told him that grass was better for growing foals and he could end up a pudgy little thing. But he'd rather eat apples, even if he did grow quite round from doing so. The thought of those sweet, red apples made his mouth water.
Turning towards the direction of the smoke, he shot her a glance oer his shoulder. "Nah, I can't be the boss. You'll always be the boss, boss. But I'll just lead the way since I know, kay?" Lucky's grin grew as he thought of the two leggers camp and those apples they probably had stored in giant baskets. Bottom less baskets of apples. He couldn't take it anymore and neither could his stomach. And soon he was casually trotting towards the rising smoke. Hopeing his stomach would hold out untill they found what they were looking for.

Her wings started to flutter a little bit. Apples! She loved apples. She didn't get them very often but it was always a wonderful day when she did. "No?" she smiled at him and trotted along after him. So she really was the boss, always and forever. It was a pleasant thought to know she would always be the one in charge even if she wasn't in the front. She liked being in control and not having Lucky question her would make her life much easier.
After a few minutes of walking her curiosity was getting the better of her. She liked knowing things, it was harder for her to be surprised that way and right now she wanted to know where they were going. "So where're these apples anyhow? I don't see any trees 'round here."

Nuding her with his shoulder as he trotted along, he giggled lightly. Giving his head a shake. Short mane flicking back and forth along his neck. "Look up and tell me what 'cha see." He lifted his nose in the direction they were headed, hoping she'd at least be able to see the smoke rising above the trees. It was a little hard to see since it looked like gray clouds rising from the ground. But if you looked hard enough you could really tell that it wasn't that. Smoke moved a lot faster than clouds. At least it seemed so to Lucky anyways.

Chocolate eyes rose to the skies to find what Lucky saw. She blinked a few times as they finally settled on funny grey clouds rising from the ground. For a moment she was very confused and found herself stopping to stare at them. After a few moments a memory of a warm fire floated into her mind. "Smoke?" She asked before dashing to catch up with the black colt. "Why is there smoke out here? The two-leggers all live in the village don't they?"
It was a bit odd but one thing was certain, actually two things. The first being that there would definitely be food where ever that fire sat. The second was that Lucky had really good eyes. Perhaps she should suggest him to be her body guard and her look out. Then she considered that he probably already was acting like her look out without her saying anything. Maybe she wouldn't suggest it after all.
Her stomach growled again. "Ya think it's close? I'm hungry."

Nodding his head, his eyes went back to the path ahead of them. Well, the path they were making anyway. There really wasn't any definitive path that they were walking on.
"Yup! Not all two-leggers live in the village. My dad says that some like to live out in the forest by themselves for some strange reason. And were theres smoke there's two-leggers. And where there's two-leggers theres most definatly apples!" Squinting his eyes for a second, his ears flicked at the sound of her tummy rumbling. "Shouldn't be too far now. But once we get close we'll hafta be quiet. Some two-leggers aren't really that nice ya know."

"Huh...that's a bit weird..." She said stumbling over a thin tree root that had chosen to make its way above ground. She couldn't understand would would make anyone want to live in the forest. Sure there were lots of places to hide things but it felt to cramped and flight would be next to impossible in many places. This definitely wasn't prime living head quarters, not at all. She stumbled again and glared at the ground. It would figure that she would end up clumsy even when her parents weren't.
"So...then it's like another job? Cept instead of shiny things we're getting food?" This sounded exactly like her kind of adventure. Of course if involved stealing and rewards it was her thing. "And...I've never heard of a mean two-legger before...somethin' wrong with em or somethin?"

Lucky had seen a few Soquili in his short life time that seemed to stick more to living in the forests then in herds or small groups. He had queried his father on this once and was told it was because some Soquili often liked solitude and being around others wasn't really something in their comfort zone. He wasn't too sure why these Soquili liked living on his own. And as doubly unsure as to why the two-leggers who lived in the forests by themselves did so either. Carmine was right. It was weird.
"Exactly!" He nickered softly as a root seemed to have just snapped up and caught his hoof, nearly making him stumble a bit but he pranced out of it. Trying to appear as if he hadn't tripped at all. "Eh, some two-leggers are just grumpy butts. I dunno why. Maybe they got a booger up their nose that they can't get out or something so it makes them mad."

Carmine cocked an eyebrow as the colt suddenly began prancing about. She had missed his little stumble but this was a bit weirder. She didn't ask about it though assuming that he had just taken a sudden liking to their conversation. "Grumpy butts?" She snorted a bit in laughter. She had never heard a two-legger called that before but she found it was rather amusing. "D'ya think that maybe if we could get the boogers out of them they'd go back t'the village?"
She didn't really care if they did or not. If all the two leggers lived in the village it would make her job a lot harder because absolutely everyone would know her then.
She paused for a moment and sniffed at the air. She could smell the smoke from the fire now and it made her grin. "Mmmm, I can almost taste those apples now."

"Yea yea, grumpy butts. Ya know, when someones grumpy? Thats what you call em." He contemplated her next question for a second before shaking his head. "Nah, I don't think so and it'd be kinda gross I think trying to do that. Its a tiny little hole in the nose so you'd probably hafta use a twig or sumthin'. And that might make them even more grumpy cause they gots a twig up their nose."
Lucky had no preference to where two leggers lived. He rarely went near them in the first place.
Lowering his head, he started to walk a bit more quiet and deliberate as they drew closer to the source of the smoke. Seemed to him that it was only one two leggers home. So it should be pretty easy getting in and out. "Mmhmm, now its time to be quiet, k?" His eyes shifted to the ground every now and then, watching for anything that he might step on or get caught on that would make any noise. He crept along carefully, glancing at Carmine a few times as they drew closer to the back of a teepee.

"Ewww..." Carmine's eye twitched a bit at the thought of trying to get a booger out with a stick. It sounded pretty gross and if the sound of it wasn't bad enough her mind decided to give her an image she would have rather gone without. Though in her mind a booger looked like a small squishy insect instead of mucus like they really were.
At Lucky's word she fell almost completely silent. The only sounds coming from her were of her soft steps, her breathing, and the occasional grumble of her stomach that demanded them to hurry. As the teepee came into sight she began looking back and forth scanning for the two-leggers. Her ears flickered back and forth as she listened but couldn't hear any of the human speak. This didn't settle well with her. It meant that either the humans weren't home or that it was a trap and her cautious thief's mind found the situation was screaming 'trap'.
"Lucky..." She whispered creeping closer to him. "I think they know we're comin'..."
