Zeph could hear the footsteps receding, so he stopped and then turned to look back again, and sure enough the tree creature was making its way in the opposite direction, "Phew!!"
Zeph climbed even further until he got to the top and shouted in triumph, "Wooo!!! Take that!!!"

below Zeph the ground started to shake
Shinzui appeared before him amidst the shaking "you could just let the poor guy go"

Zeph got on four and growled at Shinzui, "What does it matter to you? You don't know the guy even.."
He soon became blinded to his own instincts again, and rushed in to attack Shinzui while still carrying the person with his tail.

the loose collection of stones and boulders rose up taking shinzui with him "i take it you have never had someone to protect" shinzui said disapearing as the boulders joined into a loose similation that is a stone golem

Shinzui's words blew over Zeph's head as he jumped through the air and landed on the golem's chest where he tried to slash at it with his claws. And at the same time, the man he held behind him groaned. When Zeph heard the noises behind him, he turned his head around and saw where it was coming from, then he lashed one of his claws out towards the victim to try to slice the man into ribbons.

Shinzui appeared before the claws, the dug into his sides. "you would make me go through the trouble of manifestation" he said blood flowing from the wound. The golem in turn reached out it's hand in an attempt to grab Zeph

Zeph was at the same mindset of an animal that had gotten itself into a fight for dominance. He reached out at Shinzui with another claw, but the golem's hand wrapped around Zeph's body and brought his arms to his side. Then he snapped down on one of the fingers of the golem, trying to dig his fangs into it.

Shinzui jumped towards Zaeph's tail trying to bite it. Th golem firmly held Zeph in his hand, zeph's fang would have it's efect or no

Zeph yelped when Shinzui bit down into his tail. He promptly dropped the man and then tried to wrap his tail around Shinzui's neck.

Shinzui looked defiantly into Zeph's eyes a red light building in his mouth. the golen started to slowly tighten it's grip

Zeph could feel the pressure building up against him as he was slowly being squeezed. He was starting to have some difficulty breathing, and then unraveled his tail from Shinzui, trying to put his efforts into freeing himself. He unclamped his jaws from the golem and gasped for air.

After being released Shinzui quickly grabbed the man in his jaws and jumped down the cliff. leaving a trail of blood
The golem itself loosened it's grip to allow Zeph to breath, loosening it's grip a bit too much...and unintentionally allowing Zeph a chance to escape.

((Wait..how big is Shinzui?? eek ))
Zeph squirmed, then managed to slip out easily like a bar of wet soap. Right when his foot touched the ground, he shot forward and away from the golem, then turned around to snarl at it and prepared for another attack against the creature...that was until he spotted the blood on the ground, "Huh? Where..?"
He had snapped out of his rampage, trying to figure out what had happened with the clues that were left behind. He glanced at the golem and then looked backwards to see that he no longer had the man in his tail, "Rrrrr..."
He hissed at the golem and gave it a menacing glare before he ran off, following the blood trail and grumbling that his victim was taken away from him, "Cheap! That was my prey!!"

Shinzui ran with the still uncouncious man hanging from the shirt in shinzui's jaws. crap, it's been a while since i've had to do this, it takes alot of energy being physical landing from the mountain on a plain he set the man down to lick his own wounds

((I've seen that movie. But I've always imagined that Shinzui and Getsuei were the size of normal wolves. It would be nice if you stated just how big they are in their profiles ;3 ))
It wasn't a difficult task for Zeph to find out where his prey was since there was a trail that would lead him to where he wanted to be. He followed it through the forest, and a few minutes later he was peering down at Shinzui from a higher vantage point. Though he thought that the man was killed since he knew he couldn't cause damage to Shinzui during their encounter back from the town. He assumed that the blood came from the man. Then he shouted, "Stealing another person's lunch---shame on you!"
