passover at my house was wonderful, I loved it.
the seders were awesome.. Although.. I did not like my dads friends at all.. On the first night, my dad invited his work buddy/friend of like 17+ years now.. and.. he sat next to me, and he would whisper really mean things, and he would paraphrase the haggudah (we do our seder in english, on account of going in hebrew would take longer, and only 3 of us at the table would be able to read it, and listening to my older brother reading anything is a form of torture.), and I dunno.. I never liked him. he is irritating.
Theeeen the 2nd night, my parents invited another friend of theirs, and their daughter was like.. very wild, and not very proper.. Her mind was in the gutter the entire time, and she would laugh whenever someone said bondage, nahor (nay-whore), asses, and something else.. I thought it was extreamly disrespectful.. She was also mean to my sister, and my sisters friend.. I dunno, she was very villainous and venomous.. I didn't like her.. She was talking about how people call her "The queen of sarcasm." so I responded with "Are you sure they werent being sacrastic when they called you the queen of sarcasm?"
ugh..
THANKFULLY!
the food was excellent, and I was too busy stuffing my face to pay any extra attention to the poor choice in guests.
Also, I broke the fast on this veggie combo pizza.. It was AWESOME! This pizza had riccota cheese, eggplant, fresh tomatos, spinach and broccoli.. I was in heaven.

Allow me to say that there is all of that stuff kosher for passover. No joke. There is kosher for passover wraps, pizza, cheesecake, frenchfries, cookies, donuts, oil, wine, bread (yes bread. I will elaborate more later on), cereal, and lots of other goodies.
Most of this stuff can be ordered online, or found in a kosher foods store.
I have been eating kosher for passover wraps, and pizza for over 7 years now. It kicks a**.
Also in truth there are certain things that do not need a certified kosher for passover symbol. No lie. Examples are olive oil, coke, spirit, and cheese and so forth. The reason for this is that the kosher for passover and normal kosher for those things are exactly the same chemically, and how rabbis inspect them. People just sell the kosher for passover stuff to make more money. Many Jews who are religious know this, and therefore don't worry.
One of the smart things to do which many religious and traditional and conservative jews do now a days is look at the ingredients. Many foods that are thought to be non-kosher are actually kosher, it is just that it costs a huge amount of money to advertise kosher food here in the US and to put the kosher symbol on food. Another example; the chicken tereyaki sandwhich they sell at Subway is kosher, but they don't advertise it since it costs so much. I should know I work at subway. Also all of their cheeses are also kosher. And so are their breads. Hell I broke pesach with a sweet onion chicken tereyaki sandwhich with tons of veggies. It was awesome.
Be a smart jew, not a stupid jew when it comes to the laws. Hashem made all of the laws to be flexible with the times and lands we live in so that we may keep what we can and as much as we can at the moment and for our present situation in life.

YvetteEmilieDupont >.>Im addicted to the pesach french fries... you know what is really annoying though. My parents are calling it,"my jew food," like "hey tina take your jew food downstairs," "how is that jew food?" Gah. I know it's my parents way of dealing with the differences I'm making, but it's just annoying, so I had to vent it to someone. I'll be fine though lol, can't really say anything. Don't pay attention to them. Just do what you have to do. Also it is easier to have a converting buddy that will be there for you. Converting to Judaism is one of the hardest things in the world to do. It takes a lot of will power, and then some. Also the rabbi will turn you away about 3 times or more. Do not believe that he is turning you down. He is testing you to see if you are serious about converting. Also convert with a sepharadic rabbi. They make it fun and easier than non-sepharadic for the most part, and really do not do it with Hasidic rabbis. That is asking for over ten years for converting, and even then they can turn you down if they feel like it. Also read up on as much Jewish history and culture as possible. It helps with understanding the different laws, traditions, ethnic groups, and so forth. And it is also extremely interesting. Example Chinese Jewish history is just awesome. And did you know that there were Jewish Samurais in Japan and Jewish Ninjas? No joke. The Hotta Samurai clan of Japan from a few hundred years ago were all Jewish but they slowly died out due to unknown reasons. And the Koga ninja clan (one of the most poweful ninja clans in the world) is of Jewish decent. And Hangul (korean writing) is slightly related to Hebrew. And Japanese writing itself has some influence from Hebrew. Shinto also has many similarities to Judaism. So many that many people think that modern day Shinto may actually be mix of Judaism and ancient Shinto. Read the Shinto stories, look at the clothing that Shinto priests wear, and their rituals and holidays and you will see what I am talking about. Also did you know that about 60% of all brazilians today are of Jewish heritage? It's all so fascinating isn't it.
