Shiori raised her eyebrow at Brock. He called her young? He looked only a few years older than she. Shiori went to the other end of the battle arena and whispered to Ciardha, "Okay Ciardha, this is a battle so you have to listen to me alright? Just don't get too goofy."
"Haunter," the empty space beside her replied.
Shiori turned to face her opponent, "I figured I'll be facing your Onix." Her violet eyes stared at the large rock snake, "So I'll choose Ciardha!" She felt her pokemon enter the arena but he still stayed invisible.
"Ciardha, the battle hasn't started quite yet. You should let him see you."
Ciardha's loud laughter echoed in the dome, making it the only thing one can hear has the haunter appeared in front of the onix.
((it's okay... there are other things going on in the main thread, perhaps I'm just a little impatient with the RP sweatdrop ))

Shiori flipped her long blue hair back, "A gentleman eh? I'll take your offer but politeness won't make me go easy on you. Ciardha hypnosis!" Shiori's tone was a little strange for her personality but she knew she could do this. Ciardha was the only pokemon that stood a change against Brock's rock hard pokemon.
"Haauuuuuunter, HaaaaAAUUUnter," Ciardha obeyed Shiori instantly, attemping to make the big snake fall asleep.

Shiori dodged the rocks that came flying towards her as Onix crashed to the floor. She was surprised that she got the upper hand so soon, unlike her last trainer battle when she was on the defense most of the time. "Alright Ciardha, now use your lick attack!"
Ciardha elongated his tounge and licked the giant pokemon everywhere. He stayed above the sleeping pokemon in case it woke up and needed an escape route.

Ciardha noticing that Onix was waking up, disappeared flew around to dodge the rocks.
Shiori, even though unable to see the pokemon, sensed where he hovered. A few rocks had damaged the haunter but none of the rocks made a direct hit. "Okay Ciardha, now curse it!" This attack might also hurt her pokemon but it would sap the strength of the rock pokemon. The longer this battle goes on, the worse it would be for the onix.

"Dodge them Ciardha!" Shiori bite her lip. Her pokemon was weaker as well, if too many rocks hit Ciardha... Shiori stared at the boulders being thrown about by the onix watching where they went as she sensed her pokemon weaving throught them. A couple times it seemed like the haunter was hit but Shiori didn't feel him stagger so it must have been a close call, she got an idea. "Use your tounge to help dodge the rocks, try to paralyze him too!"
A large pink tounge appeared and hit an incoming rock. Using the force behind the rock as leverage the ghost pokemon pushed itself out the rock's way. Using this technique the haunter, invisible except for it's tounge, made it's way to the giant rock snake. When it was close enough, Ciardha gave the onix a large lick up the side of its face.

Shiori saw her chance, "It's paralyzed Ciardha, keep licking him!"
The ghost licked the poor onix all over, at the moment the rock snake could only look at the haunter in disgust and annoyance.
((ack I gotta get to class, I'll see you later so we can finish this!*waves*))

T made her way into the gym, out of breath from her sprint to the building. She watched the battle in progress, mouth gaping, eyes wide. She'd never seen a trainer battle, but this was amazing either way. Seeing the way Ciardha (or rather, not seeing) fought gave her confidence that a smart female Haunter could do just as well, if not better.

"You can do it Shiori!" She called. "You almost have it! Goooo!!" she cried.
"Haaaunt!"
