[ For this exercise do I wait for Aya as well, or can I use two Grapple rolls / two Dig rolls per post, or what? ]
Maya followed Baki easily, kneeling and pressing her cheek to the ground. There was fire under the rocks...the kind of heat only a Kun'Kumo would be putting off, being so hot-headed. Maya smiled and kissed Baki's nose. "Good boy, Baki...well done. Good boy," she murmured, pointing towards a particularly large rock and moving up to it, grabbing one end of it while she motioned with her head for Baki to start digging on the other end so it would fall off the top of the mountain of debris and make it easier to dig out the stubborn fool under here. "Aya," Maya grunted as she secured her grip, "Help us dig out the person under here." She was unsure if it would help or hinder Aya to know it was Kana under here, and she didn't feel the need to worry the girl since the heat from his body was still burning. He would be injured, but he wasn't dying.

Baki nodded his head and began to work at the other end of the rock, wondering what the Kun'Kumo's reaction would be to seeing him and Maya digging him up and saving him from an early grave. Maybe they would actually get to be with Aya more often without risking the scathing looks the boy used to give them. Or maybe Baki might just have to eat the boy, with which he had no real problem. Except he might taste like super charred food, all crispy and gross...ew.

The smoke in the gear works stung Aya's eyes as she walked through the rubble after Konpaku. "What are we looking for?" Aya asked as Baki and Konpaku began to search with their noses. As they walked away from the girl, Aya found a torn shirt burning on the ground a ways off. Someone must've gotten caught in the explosions. Perking her head up and sprinting over to where the panther, Baki and Maya were, she stood at the edge of the rubble. "Hai!" Aya said with a nod, not knowing what good it would do to dig out a person. No normal man or woman would be able to withstand a pile of these many rocks falling on top of them. However, Baki's nose was much stronger than any sense Aya could have to know whether or not there was even anyone under there. So, the girl silently approached the rubble and began lifting rocks away. She wasn't as strong as the Tategami's, but she wasn't as weak as she used to be in the academy.

The first rock that Aya picked up was heavy. She wasn't strong enough to throw it to the side, so she had to walk away from the heap in order to set it down. Before she could set it down nicely though, the rock slipped from her hands and shattered on the ground. Aya wondered just where all this rock had come from. Standing and looking around the loud gears, she spotted the destroyed pillar. There were cracks in the ceiling from the explosion and it looked as if part of the roof had caved in due to the holes above. There were still many support pillars holding up the inner circle, but Aya wasn't sure how long they'd last. "We should hurry," Aya said, getting a little nervous at the fact that the roof could cave in on them at any moment or even the entire structure collapsing on them all. "I don't think the pillars are going to hold for much longer..." Aya said softly, not completely sure, but only nervous at the thought.

Picking up a smaller chunk of stone, Aya was able to heave it upwards and toss it away from the pile. The soot from the explosion had made the stone hot and Aya could feel the warmth through her charcoal gray gloves. The girl was beginning to worry for the person underneath all this rubble. She didn't have any burn gel on her since she had sold it all in order to continue building onto the base at Mugendai, so all she had was her healing technique. If there was more than one person under there, they would be out of luck... Aya didn't have that much chakra left, so she would only be able to heal one right away. The other would have to wait until medics arrived. Grabbing another stone Aya lifted it off, her arms and chest beginning to sweat from the heat and the heavy work they were putting into moving the rocks. Flicking a strand bang out of her face with her hand, Aya rubbed soot on her cheek. She didn't care nor did she even notice. She was more concerned about helping this person get out. Taking one more look up at the ceiling gave her a burst of motivation to keep moving. One more look told her that she could relax though, since the ceiling wasn't even crumbling anymore.

After kicking away a small piece and throwing another stone covered in black powder, Aya had to stop for a moment. With her hands on her knees she breathed in and out. The lack of chakra in her body was making her feel a little light headed. She was also feeling the wounds from her battle begin to ache. The hits from the shurikens were stinging heavily now that she was sweating. There was no doubt that they were going to get infected at this rate. Aya had managed to bandaged one up while in battle, but the others were open and free, just beginning to scab over. Reaching into her pack, Aya unwound some bandage and rolled it around her other arm to help keep the wound clean. "Maya," Aya said as she bent over to pick up the rocks. "How many people are under here?" she asked, growing a little more concerned about just how capable she was of performing the healing technique once again. The girl sat down on one of the rocks she had just thrown aside to take another breather. Aya had a lot of chakra, but she had spent most of it and once she was drained... she was almost useless.

Kazuma was otherwise pre-occupied with the ladies when the sudden attack began. Figuring it was just the arena fights heating up he took no notice of it. It wasn't until San was standing menacingly over him that he realized something was wrong. He looked up at her curiously as she reached down for his Mustache. Squeeling like a pig when she suddenly ripped off his fake Mustache he knew he was in trouble now. Her tone of voice did not sound friendly in the least. " Kun' Kumo Kazuma! " He spoke proudly without any fault in his voice. " And who the hell are you miss scary lady?" His tone was demanding, he was doing his best to mimic San's threatening tone. Ofcourse he had no idea he was speaking out of line to the EMPRESS of the earth country.

Maya hesitated for a moment, then gave Aya a small smile. "Just one, Aya-chan...just one," she said quietly, working steadily and moving rocks to the ground. She qas quiet for a few moments, and wondered if she should have admitted just who it was buried under there. Baki knew from his scent, and Maya knew what Baki knew because the torn look in his eyes made him question if they were supposed to save someone who was against the family ties of their clan. Had Kana ever grown up and gotten over that...? Maya shook her head as she moved another rock. She didn't think he would, but hoped it was so. Nothing would be better than getting to be around Aya's cheerfulness again, most especially since Shuga's disappearance.

Baki squared off his hind legs and took a stance, setting himself easily and using his forepaws to dig. Bits of dirt and dust clung to his mane, but he didn't mind as much as he probably should have. Baki snorted the dust from his nose, keeping his eyes squinted so anything that kicked up wouldn't harm his golden eyes. What would be learned if he couldn't even see it? He sensed Maya's troubled thoughts about Aya and telling her just who was buried under here, but could do nothing. Aya was a friend, but not his partner. When it came to humans, Baki preferred letting them tell each other things. Sometimes, animals were misunderstood, and Baki most definitely did not want to be the one to hurt the bubbly girl.

Maya continured to work, her long, tan arms moving rocks almost as if it were some mindless, mundane thing...and really, to the physically-focused teen, it was. She worked, thought, worked, worked, thought, worked...the empress didn't seem to like her much, and Maya almost let out a chuckle at that thought. The woman would likely imprison her, for any reason - probably treason against her country, but who cared? She'd shown that silly samurai she wasn't anyone to be messed with. Well, she and Aya had shown him. Without Aya, Maya would probably be shredded into small pieces, and still bleeding. Speaking of...

Baki dug, dug, dug. He snorted more dust, letting out a yelp when a rock hit his nose. Ouch!! He rubbed his nose against his flanks, and shook his head. Silly rocks...Ah, but they were getting much closer...much much closer. Baki growled softly at Maya, but continued to work. She needed to prepare Aya for this, because Baki sure wasn't going to do it. Sure, Maya was moving the rocks at a faster pace, but Baki didn't speak human like she did, especially now with her speech much better than it had been a mere year and a half ago. Baki braced himself once more and continued to dig.

"Aya-chan, I remember you learned that chakra absorbing technique...maybe you should use it on me. You know how horrible I am with jutsu - I haven't used my chakra in ages. You could use it more than I could, anyway," Maya said quietly, her eyes on Baki's work. Small tufts of red were starting to shine through, and Maya cleared her throat, rubbing her head and then shaking it. "Aya...you gotta stay calm...but you gotta know. The person buried under there, he's alive, and he needs you...the person under there is Kana." Maya watched as Baki continued to dig out the Kun'Kumo, bracing herself for Aya's reaction. With the maturity the girl had shown at Maya's slaughter, she was sure that Aya could handle this...but she hadn't been around the girl in much too long.
Baki slowed as Kana's hair poked through the rubble, then began working around the body slowly, so he wouldn't scratch the red-headed teenager. Hair, forehead, eyes, nose, mouth.... the rocks and dirt fell away from Kana, and Baki was sure his paws would be sore for a month once he got half down Kana's body. The Kun'Kumo's head and torso were exposed, but his legs were still caught. He seemed to have been buried in a sitting position, which made the rest of the job easier. Baki pulled at the chunks of concrete that were covering his legs, and sniffed at the boy. Still alive, obviously - the Kun'Kumo fire still burned in his scent. But not awake...Baki licked Kana's face twice before snorting. Dirt tasted disgusting, and off Kana's skin, which smelled smokey to begin with, it was just gross. He trotted back to Maya side, nuzzling Aya for a moment before pressing against Maya's leg, wanting his ears scratched. He growled softly as Maya complied, and watched. They could do nothing more - the rest was up to Aya.

Aya nodded. "Good," she said, knowing that she had just enough chakra left to heal one person. The girl had gone over her limit many times and she now knew how to measure it out. Just as long as there was only one, he or she would be fine! Standing behind Maya and Baki, Aya helped roll the rocks further away as the two dug there way to the person underneath. "Oh! Its ok, Maya-chan! I have enough chakra to heal one more person. If we bump into more, I'll bug you for it!" the girl answered as Maya suggested that Aya take some of her chakra. The Tenmoki girl had done that once before, but she was nervous doing that to a friend, because if by chance she took too much, it could really hurt Maya. Her cheerful disposition melted away a little as Aya took on a quiet tone. Then moment Kana's name was said, Aya's energy burst through the roof and she was at Baki's side as he nuzzled the girl. With lightning fast speed Aya performed the seals Hare, Dog and Ox, so fast that it looked like she had only done one.
"Minor Healing Technique," Aya said quickly as she ran her hands over Kana's body. The girl was quiet and on her surface it did not look like she was panicking. Her look was concentrated, focus and above all else looked under control. On the inside though, Aya was in a panic. Her adrenaline levels were through the roof as her heart beat quicker and quicker. Was Kana ok? Was he really still alive? As her chakra ran over and through his body, Aya knew that one of the answers was in her favor, but he was not in good condition. Rocks had fallen and buried him. There were most likely broken bones and above all else she was concerned about was a concussion. Most of her healing took place on his head and area where a deep burnt wound was.

By creating ones own chakra into a passive pool within their hands, the user is able to tend to minor wounds by accelerating the healing process of the skin. You can not heal yourself with technique or treat internal wounds or bone breakage. Fire burns and cuts from melee attacks are common to heal with this technique.

Once Aya used up all her chakra and had finished using her healing technique on Kana, she instantly went to her pack. "We can't move him until he wakes. He might have broken bones," Aya said without looking at Maya, Baki or Konpaku as she brought out a few bandages. Cleaning out his wounds the best she could with just the bandages, Aya kept her hands clear of his welts which had healed over slightly from her technique. Her pale and gentle hands were dirty and scratched up from moving rocks. The girl didn't wanted to get any of the wounds more infected than they already were. Rubbing the gel around the delicate wound. "Ne... Ne..." Aya said softly as she took her free hand and brushed the bangs away from Kana's face. "Kana-kun," she whispered trying to keep her cool as she tried to gently wake her boyfriend. 'Please wake up...' the girl said to herself as tears began to well up in her eyes. She bent over closely to Kana so that Maya and Baki would not see.

Maya hesitated, and went to go towards Aya, but she seemed fine enough...right? Maya looked down at Baki, confused. Either Aya was stronger than the both of them combined - Maya would have freaked had it been Karite or Shuga under there, and Zyn? Oh god... - or Aya was lying to them big time. But why would Aya lie? Maya bit her lip, the old habit returning full force in the dire circumstance...

Baki lifted his eyes, still snorting dust from his nose and flattening his ears against his mane. Aya didn't smell very good - her chakra was low, and Baki knew that if her chakra ran out, it wouldn't be good at all. Her chakra supply was much too low, even for Baki's taste - and he didn't particularly pay attention to that sort of thing...

 If it were not for recognizing his clan's name, San would have thrown Kazuma into the dungeon for interrogation thinking he was part of the samurai. He was just a kid getting into trouble. "Yochi San, Empress of the Earth Country," the woman said rather proudly as the dancers got up and left the boy sitting on the large pillow by himself. Once her empress took that tone of voice with someone, they knew to take their leave. She could tell that this boy was nothing like his fellow kinsman, Kana. He acted rudely and gluttonly instead of jumping into action and taking a stand against those that just declared a stand against the shinobi. Bending down so that she was no more than afew centimeters from Kazuma's face, her spring time eyes seemed to light up with a fire as she glared at him intently. "Watch that tongue of yours before I take it," she said scratching her long white nail gently underneath his lip. Standing up and paying no more attention to the Kun 'Kumo, San turned towards her royal guards. "Stop the other matches and search for the other samurai that escaped. Anyone from Shimagakure shall meet with me and the captured Samurai in the prison," San commanded as she made one final turn towards Kazuma. "I'd search for your kinsman if I were you," the woman said as she took her leave, quickly followed by guards.

 Konpaku had disappeared from the area while the group had rushed to remove the rocks from atop the pile. Coming back to the area, she brought a young man adorned in royal clothing. She moved slowly for this man since he was not very agile or skilled when it came to rough terrains. With a low rumble in her throat she made sure that everyone knew they were coming.
A young man with light violet hair came stumbling through the debris and rubble. "Slow down, Konpaku," he said a little nervously as the boy attempted to jump hurdles over the rocks and make it to the area that Konpaku had called him to. Wiping sweat from his brow with the sleeve of his crimson jacket, he came upon the group and the young man injured in the rocks. "I'm sorry it took me so long," the young man said as he knelt down on the other side of Kana from where Aya was. As he examined the boy, he reached into the tan leather bound case he had been carrying carefully by hand. "These burns are pretty bad," the young man with the violet hair said as he pulled out an ointment to rub along the wounds. "Lets re-locate him to the medical ward," he said putting away the ointment he had applied to the wounds of the red haired youth. Standing up he turned to the bronzed skinned teen. "Will you help carry him with Konpaku and your lion friend?" the young man asked politely before turning to the girl that had been at the injured one's side. "I'm Song Huwei, Empress San's royal apothecary and scientist," he said introducing himself, but then noticed how struck the girl that was hovering over the injured boy was. His expression turned a little softer and less 'in-charge' as he put a hand on the girl's shoulder. "I'll show you to the medical ward," he said beginning to lead everyone in the right direction.

Growling with friendliness, Konpaku rubbed up against Baki's neck before rounding herself in position to have the young man set upon her.
