Stripes smiled as best he could. "Well, you see this is just the start. It will be better soon." He wasn't sure how it would get better. "Subjects? Well, they aren't always around. Most of the time they aren't here at all." He tried to lie.

"Oh..." Affera nodded as he talked. It made sense...she guessed. She had no idea how a kingdom was supposed to be run anyway. 'Oh no!' she thought. Her eyes widened as she thought of something.
"What if...what if I'm not a good Queen?" she asked him. She buried her face in his chest. She didn't want to fail or let him down.

Stripes hugged her to him. "Oh, don't worry. I think you are a great Niva so you have to be a great Queen. I wouldn't have asked if I didn't think so." He smiled and then kissed her on the head. "Want to see inside?" His house was nicer inside. It had everything a home should have. Inside a log even.

Aferra blushed as she was pulled into him. He was so...warm and comfy. And he smelled kind of sweet too. She smiled and looked up at him.
"Thank you! I promise I will do my best!" She took his hand and giggled as he kissed her on the forehead. "Sure, I'd love to see the inside!"

Stripes smiled and pulled Afferra by the hand into the log. It looked like a Christmas winter wonderland. Candy canes all over the place. It had a nice bed and area to eat. "Here it is, My Queen!"

Affera was led in and she looked around.
"Wow!" she gasped, "I love it!" She picked up one of the candy canes and played with it in her hand. Then she looked at him with bright eyes.
"Hey! This is sweet, can we eat this?"

Stripes nodded. "Sure you can. I just put up more after they are all gone. That or when there are too many holes. I love candycanes to eat and to look at. It makes it looks nice and smells nice too!" Stripes chuckled as he sat on the bed type thing.

Affera sat on the bed next to him and munched happily on her candy cane. She liked it very much here, and she liked Stripes very much too. She didn't want to leave, but not only that...she didn't have a home of her own to go back to. She looked up at Stripes.
"Can I...can I really...stay here with you?"

Stripes looked back at Affera. "Sure you can. The Queen of this Candycane castle...okay, log. Still, if you want to you can." He told her with a smile. He liked her and it was nice to have someone at his house.

She grinned and threw her arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug.
"Ok! I'll stay! I like it here, I really do!"
She didn't want to tell him it was because she had no where else to go, but she was telling the truth, she really did like it there, and she liked him as well.

Stripes smiled and hugged her back. "The King and Queen have their nice kingdom." He chuckled. He was happy she wanted to stay. It was nice being around someone else and even nice being around her. He blushed a little.

She blushed at the sound of their titles put together. She looked up into his eyes and asked him, "Does that mean...we're..." she giggled and blushed some more, "...together?" She had never had a boyfriend before, even though she had always wanted one. But she had never lived with any one else before either. She wasn't sure if that meant more than just being 'together' but she figured maybe it didn't matter. They could be whatever they wanted to be...even if they had just met.

Stripes blushed but it could only be seen in his white bits. He smiled. "Um... yeah, if you want to be yes." He didn't want to rush her even though he liked her a lot. Living together and being king and queen felt right and nice.

Stripes smiled and blushed a bit more. "Okay! So, do you want more to eat? I guess we ate a lot today." He liked the food that wasn't sugary. It was different and yet nice.
