Peter, easily amused as he was, was still laughing. "W-w-well done, Sirius mate!" he said between giggles, his voice even higher than usual due to his mirth. "P'raps Gryffindor should consider a new S-Seeker!"

Sirius grinned. "Prolly not, though, as James is the Cap'n. And this little incident must stay under wraps, if you know what I mean," he said, knowing full well that James would find out sooner-or-later, anyway.

"Most certainly!" Peter squeaked, perfectly sincere. "I won't speak a word! You have my word!"

"Thanks Petey," Sirius grinned through a mouthful of potatoes. "I'll hold you to it."

Remus entered the Great Hall and, noticing the disgruntled Professor McGonagall and Slytherins, sat beside Sirius. "What did you do this time?" he asked, sounding rather bored, but he was just used to this sort of behavior. Hell, he had partaken in this sort of behavior on occasion.

Sirius glared. "Why do you have to automatically think that it was me?"

"Oh, shut it, Wormtail... Fine," Sirius sighed. "Since you so very much would like to know, I stole the Snitch from the Quidditch trunk, lost it in here during the busiest time of the day (dinner), and recovered it by jumping on top of the Slytherin table and snatching it out of the air..." Sirius took a large breath and continued rambling. "After that, I yelled some things for the whole Hall to see and ran out like a madman so that I could put it away before James noticed it was gone."
"Happy?"

"Extremely happy, as a matter of fact; perhaps it could even be considered incandescently happy," Remus retorted without thinking. He blinked, feeling a bit dazed. "Wow, that was harsh even for me. Sorry Pads. Excellent work with letting the Snitch out, though, that was clever," he added with gentler sarcasm.

Looks at the Marauders table and sees Remus. Blushes a little.. "Looks like their arguing..." She said to Mar.

Lily turned to Jen and smiled as her friend sat down. "Yea, Sirius just found the golden snitch on top of the Slytherin table. It was pretty funny; too bad you missed it..."

Marketa narrowed her eyes slightly and looked over at the boys. "I dunno, looks like Sirius is smiling," she said with a shrug.

Sirius chose to ignore Remus's biting sarcasm. Afterall, replying would make him feel smart... or something.
Instead, he raised his head to scan the Hufflepuff table for someone in particular. And - what are the chances? - she was already looking at him. As soon as he made eye contact, he gave her a cheeky little wave and a sickening wink. (He found that overexaggerating his features would help people sitting at far away tables see him better.)

Marketa grinned broadly and waved back, choosing to ignore the wink for the time being.

Sirius turned back to his mashed potatoes, allowing a bit to 'jump' off his plate and land on Remus's arm.
