Sir Kyle Aziz Yes, an Eldar/Tau group would be pretty bad a**. Especially if your Tau cadre was heavy on the range. (No Kroot!) That's my though. Take Tau troops and two Hammerheads, along with a unit of Suits. Then, take Eldar close assault and line breakers along with a unit of Warwalkers for a little extra kick.

Guard and Marines. Guard provides the veterans and armour while Marines can provide the flexible infantry units needed for that extra bit.

Wouldn't a Skyray also be useful? I can't imagine it would be bad for barrage attacks or something.

That said...if you were really just relying on it, having Marker Drones attached to Fire Warrior squads wouldn't be a horrible idea.

The Skyray comes with 2 markerlights of it's own, they don't cost extra.
Unless I'm not understanding how this works which is true, because I don't honestly have a bloody clue. Haha.

According to the Codex it does come with 2 networked Markerlights that count as defensive Weapons. so it can function solo

Sir Kyle Aziz Wouldn't a Skyray also be useful? I can't imagine it would be bad for barrage attacks or something. Not really. Unless you have infiltrated Stealth suits or Pathfinders to provide Markerlight calls from elsewhere on the board, the tank on it's own is worthless. With other Markerlights you can fire off side shots or barrage attack with alot of missiles early on, then spend the rest of the game relatively unmolested, as a simple Markerlight platform. Without further support, the Skyray is a six-shot krak-missile tank, with an effective 36" range, and which requires two to-hit rolls for every shot. Really, the best version of the Skyray was the Forgeworld one where you could still ripple-fire all the missiles off of one Markerlight. Caleidah Sir Kyle Aziz The Skyray comes with 2 markerlights of it's own, they don't cost extra. Unless I'm not understanding how this works which is true, because I don't honestly have a bloody clue. Haha. I'll get back to you once I've looked it up in the Codex. They do indeed come with two networked Markerlights.

I've seen shock and awe tau missile salvo decimating mech guard with 3x pathfinders and 3 x missile tank = 6 dead chimeras in first round...

When teaming like this do you guys share the force organization chart, or come up with two separate armies and combine them?
I usually like to run my Thousand Sons with Orks.

I recently got ahold of the old Chapter Updated article about running Gue'vesa (Ig troops in Tau). From what I've seen, it's one FO chart unless your talking Apocolypse. By the way, where did you guys get the cool bolt pisols and bolters for you avatars?
Albatross!

Dark Eldar with Nurgle Chaos Marines. The Plague marines are the main fire magnet, attracting the fire, while the DE in Raiders with Wyches inside close in on the enemy. Used to horrific effect on IG.

I've played them, but the CSM were a shooty army, Thousand Sons I think, and the demons were Bloodletters with a Herald on juggy leading them, and Fateweaver with a bunch of Tzeentch flamers.
