"Tanu, huh..." Kane mused as he digested the information of this Kun'Kumo girl. "Maybe I will," he said in response to Shisei's next suggestion, for him to team up with Xyn. Looking around for Xyn, though, it seemed that Kane was one step too slow. Xyn had evidently ditched him for the girl that Kane only knew as 'the other girl from the first stage'. His unofficial quest to better his social relations still had a long, long way to go. Feeling a little annoyed, Kane moved forward towards the two. They had started to play ball already, but hey. Kane had time.
"Xyn?" he called. "Don't think that I don't want to match up with you."
His words had a challenging air to them, but this was offset by Kane's small, friendly smile.
Yes... he could wait. His muscles were still a little stiff from the pearl hunting saga anyway, and it would only do Kane good to stretch them out. Having finished his left bicep stretch, Kane swiftly moved on to his right bicep. He assumed the same position, only in a mirror image, and pushed his wrist down with the help of his other hand.

Turning away from the action, Brassa heard the deep voice of the new leader of the village. The boy who lived on the streets was surprised to the man speaking back to him. Someone of that status never usually gave more than a nod or spare change if they were feeling giving. He usually would have to pester them on end to get more than a pitiful eye from them. His lips curved slightly upward as the man said it was ‘sama’ instead of ‘san’. The youth took in all his words keeping these mental notes. It’d be some information to pass on to the others. “Gotcha san… I mean Kage-sama. I surely do. Jounin are known as ‘sama’ forever more. Although I’m not sure about me being called ‘sama’. That I don’t. Too formal. I think I just rather something like.. hmm ‘Cool Brassa-kun’ as a title. Haha. Yep. That’d work.” The boy replied with a laugh. His mind then reflected on the question the man asked. They each got hurt to some degree. He and Sevvi had taken the brunt of the force trying to protect the others. Under freckle face’s shirt were a few patches where shards of ice had gotten him. He also had a bandage on his cheek. Remembering what happened the youth replied to commander of Shima. “Well Sevvi and I got a bit roughed up. He took a few shards to the throat and his arm is in a sling, but he’s alright. He’s being a bit of a scaredy nark cause he doesn’t want his mom to find out he was in the village when that happened. The twins have minor nicks. Nothing a good ol day of sleep can save. Fay…. Is probably the most to worry about. She truly is. She only took one hit from a chunk of ice, but the man from yesterday has her scared stiff. She’s stressed out, but the nurses are doing their best to get well again. I have faith them though. Indeed I do. She’ll be better in a jiffy.” Brassa said thinking back to the hospital. Yesterday wasn’t a pretty scene at all. “Heh. If everyone’s better we’ll join the next festival! That we will. Although getting some of them to participate might be trouble. They can be a buncha naffs every now and then.” his voice continued with a slight chuckle. Then he had another question for the jounin. “Hey Kage-sama. Why don’t you join in the games too? Being all broody and stuff will turn your brain into knots and that’s no good. It really isn’t.”
Meanwhile on the battle…. sports field, Shisei was getting ready to become the aggressor once again. Passing Maya as she went to the post, the snake child had to think of different ways to keep her off guard. She was definitely fast enough to stop his kicks, but if she was caught off guard the same result will happen again. The boy moved the ball back and forth between his legs without giving much thought as to which way to send the ball. Hopefully slightly tapping left and right would confuse her. “As to why I care? Well Maya-sempai you spend time with Xyn and Karite, but you neglect me. Do you dislike me so much?” the boy questioned. At this point he kicked the ball upwards and began tapping it on his knee keeping it from hitting the ground. Even though his eyes had focused on the ball he knew where he was going to hit it. It might be a little risky, but it would probably be the least expected place. Once her mind was still caught off guard. “Tell me Maya-sempai. Are you and Xyn like Karite and Orika? Is he your significant other?” when he finished his first sentence his knee had nudged the ball a few feet into the air. By the time the second sentence was done Shisei had also leaped into the air and whipped his foot at the ball as if he was kicking the head off of someone’s neck. The ball exploded off his leg and angled downwards to go between the amazoness’s legs. Even with the angle it would still enter the net if all went as planned.

Maya snarled at Shisei for a moment, then gave him a cruel smile.
"So what if he is? Does it bother you, little snake, that you haven't shed enough of your skins to be likable?" She shook her head, visibly annoyed with him, and it was obvious to anyone in the way she let her gaze turn and linger on Xyn that he did mean something more to her than she would let on. But significant other .. ? She growled, her face flushing and her answer snapping out harsher than she meant it to. "It's not like that anyway, Xyn's totally focused on his scri...er...writings." She might have been mentally shaken, but Maya's eyes followed the ball this time - her knee snapped down and caught the edge of the ball, blocking it and making it ricochet off towards another part of the training grounds. The gleam in her smile was pure joy, satisfaction - if she concentrated, she could do some heavy damage. But...then...mind games were not her strongest suit.

Maya passed Shisei at a lope, taking her place at the kicking side and smiling at Shisei. She didn't even signal which way she would kick it, merely closed her eyes and tilted her head to the right. "It's not very nice to be such a stalker, you know," Maya said, opening her eyes and letting her tawny gaze settle on him. She shook her head, her messy cropped hair shadowing her eyes, and took not-so-careful aim...though it was in the direction of the goal, of that much she was certain. With minimal effort, Maya sent it soaring towards Shisei, a dangerous gleam in her eyes. She turned to address Brassa momentarily -
"You'd be better off hanging with someone less snappy than him, kid. Or...'cool Brassa-kun', is it?" she said, a soft and slightly teasing tone to her voice, though it was obvious that she wasn't being cruel or rude about it. She chuckled and ruffled her own hair, offering her own name. "Name's Maya...don't think I've seen you around...have I?" After that short bit of conversation, Maya turned her attention back towards Shisei...not eager to see his head pop off from a hit, but not worried about him catching it. He didn't seem to be very athletic...her complete and total opposite. Him and his jutsu-fetish would be the death of her.

Baki growled easily, his ears pricked. He had no way of lying to the girl, and seeing his huge head move wasn't going to trick her at all, so he didn't even bother - instead, he headbutted the ball harshly, his golden eyes watching it swoop towards her. It bounced a bit, because being a lion and all, he wasn't all that graceful, but it was still a good 'kick' by his standards. Baki snorted - he could have kicked it with his hind legs, or swatted at it with his paws. Maybe he would try that on his next turn. He trotted towards the goal, knowing that it would be his turn now to try and keep the round toy from passing him, and he watched (because he was going slowly enough) to see if he had succeeded in the point of the training exercise. Or game. Whatever this was. It was fun, but a different kind of fun than he had with Maya. This wasn't sparring or wrestling, but it would do.

[Maya's evil xp lol]
Brassa turned away from jounin-sama when he heard his name. ‘Cool Brassa-kun’ who could have known that aside from the kage? As his dark eyes peered back to the field he saw the girl whose soccer kicks were as deadly as a grenade. She noticed him! Shisei must have put in some good words about him. “Ohh Shisei-kun. I’ll also have to help you out one day.”. Waving like sugar high child he replied to the lioness. “Sis you’re amazing! That you are. You stopped Shisei’s kick and not even breaking a sweat.” the boy yelled to them. He failed to notice the last play by the snake because of his attention to the red head, but judging how it was going the Orochi boy still needed up his strength to compete with her. “Don’t worry about his snippy and snappy mouth. He’s like Sevvi-kun. They like to yap and push around people and puff up their chest and cross their arms over their chest to act all popular and cool. That they do! Deep down though they just want to have fun like the rest of us. Maybe he wants a hug like Sevvi-kun. Is that what you want Shisei-kun? I can always ask Mia-chan and Lia-chan to give ya a hug. That I can.” the boy stated with a goofy smirk. If Brassa was right he’d have the same reaction like Sevvi. Which was probably to pick up a rock and chuck it at him. Or say something snide that would make a little girl cry and run home. The two of them could be so predictable at times.
Shisei listened to Maya’s words as he saw a wicked smile over her face. It surprised the serpent a little. He wasn’t too sure of what it meant. It seems as if she would become the aggressor in the mental battle as well as the physical contest. Her words caught him off guard but did not make him lose focus. It would just be something to build on. Brassa’s chanting from afar made him lose his focus. “Hey. Don’t assume such weird things about me. Keep your mouth shut before another tooth goes missing from it.” Shisei stated not turning to the boy, but crossing his arms. And then uncrossing them. He disliked a smart aleck. With his mind on both Brassa’s and Maya’s words the scaly kid was not prepared for the sphere rocket heading his way. The ball cracked against his nose with enough force that it sent both him and the ball into the goal post. Unfortunately his fingers never could have grappled the globe like object so another point went to Maya.

“Whoa… cor.” Brassa whispered to himself. He didn’t think a human body could go just as far as a football or as they called it over here a soccer ball. The ball didn’t just hit Shisei. It attacked him! And then tackled him into the goal. Well while the snake boy was recovering Brassa would use the chance to answer Maya’s question. “It’s a pleasure to meet ya Maya-chan. Indeed it is! I’m around. Here and there. There and here. All over, but if you’re looking for me you can always check by the playground. A few others and I are usually there. You should stop by one day and join us for some games. Truly you should.” Brassa stated. He was not going to touch on the subject of boyfriends or girlfriends with her. If the Tategami heir almost killed the last snake in Shima, just what would she do to him if he touched on the subject. Freckle face would have to reconsider any words that may woo her or anger her. That type of strength was not to mess with. Although Shisei seemed intent of getting better acquainted with it. The hard way. “Hey Shisei-kun your nose looks like its hiding in your face!” the boy laughed lightly.
Shisei lay on the ground for a few seconds contemplating on what to do next. “I may have hit a nerve with that one.”. He slowly returned to his feet slightly dazed and his nose numb and yet at the same time it felt as if a boxer just hit directly on it. When he heard Brassa’s words the boy gave it a small touch and it stung. It also did feel out of place. Dear god would it fall off!??! Shisei quickly wiped the thought from his mind. His fingers grabbed the facial feature and twisted it till it felt back in position. As he did this he could feel a churning within it. Well that hurt. At least it wasn’t bleeding though. Switching places with Maya, Shisei had to think of his next words, but was still staggered. “If it does bother me Maya-sempai about you two, would you do something about it? I’m not stalker, but what if I was jealous now.” the boy stated speaking in half truths. While not jealous he was envious of the influence Xyn could possibly have. Maya was supposed to be his ace. If Xyn kept butting in then Shisei wouldn’t have much influence on the grounds. The snake was still selfish about his desires over anyone else. He would continue his interrogation. “If there is no relationship, then why does Maya-sempai care more about him than say… Karite who wants to be a Tategami.” with the last sentence out, Shisei kicked the ball to the right. He would keep it at an angle, but not down the center as last time. She was too smart for that. The serpent wasn’t too sure of a coordinated attack to hit the goal so he just let his words and body move on instinct. The ball went zooming towards the goal.

Maya narrowed her eyes - lying little snake! He wasn't at all jealous, and his words just irked her. The irritation was enough to throw her concentration, and his next shot slipped by her fingers by mere inches. Maya snarled - she would have to train harder and get better at this sort of thing! She stumbled, but regained her composure quickly, lifting a burning glare towards Shisei and snarling almost rabidly at him. This game was quickly becoming less and less 'fun' and more of a psychological challenge. And Maya was starting to feel the metaphorical (and probably not so metaphorical) toll on her brain cells.

Maya didn't care about getting into his head anymore - but it would be fun to lay damage on him. But then...Shinichi would get mad if she killed the guy...with a sigh, Maya yawned and acted super bored, letting her fourth ball go with a rip, aiming towards, what else?, his legs. Maybe he would jump and dance, that would be amusing. She could always call herself a snake charmer. She smiled at the internal joke, and crouched, watching the snake and wondering what he would do. Avoid it? Gain a massive bruise on his shin?
"Playground huh..? Never spent much time there," Maya admitted to Brassa, her tawny eyes almost confused. That was...near Ichi's...er...Shinichi's office, right..? Somewhere around there...

"Haha! Yes!" Serena smiled at the success. Maybe she would have to work on getting smart enough to trick Xyn,who was probably way above her head in intelligence, but at least she was able to get the ball to pass right through his hands. Though happy at her own success, she zoned in and out of what they were doing, listening here and there to the other conversations going around. The others were arguing about something..but she brought herself back to the attention of her own game. Serena walked towards the other end, the goal post, and positioned herself in the center while her partner took to the line where she had stood.
The Raiken waited for Xyn to kick the ball..with his eyes closed? Well, whatever he did, she was going to be ready for it. She bent her knees in preparation, and as the kick came spinning towards her, she caught that little change in direction quick enough to get to where it would come in. And with that help, Serena lowered herself and caught the ball with her arms stretched across her, absorbing the force of the ball. "I caught that one.." She looked at Xyn. He didn't seem to be enjoying himself..but the genin decided not to take much notice because that was how he always was. She hummed a tune as she stood up. "And so we switch"

About this time, Serena noticed someone standing by them. It was one of those more experienced genin, whom she had only seen a couple times before. It seemed like he was looking towards Xyn being his partner..but she didn't bother. If he wanted to play against him, then he could go. She made sure both feet were behind the line again, and set the ball down for her second kick. "Hi there, my name's Raiken Serena." Serena smiled and waved, and then put her focus back onto the round object before her. Whether or not Xyn was ready, she was going.
The Raiken steadied herself, took a few steps back, and then sped the ball towards Xyn, attempting to give it a slight spin so that it might curve someway. She was unsure whether or not if it would work, but she knew that her kick had been pretty strong. If the spin didn't alter the direction, maybe it would cause the ball to fly towards the goalpost faster. While she waited for the result, the girl took a few seconds to listen in on other conversations again..not like she was..eavesdropping or anything..she just..wanted to know what they were talking about. Well, maybe she shouldn't have done that now, because the result is curiosity over Xyn and some relationship. That was interesting. Maybe she'd have to ask...or maybe not, because she didn't want to invade others privacy. But she wanted to know..but can't. The Raiken shook her head. She wasn't going to ask. But...oh, stupid snake boy. Why couldn't he just shut his mouth so she wouldn't have the urge to find out anymore.

((The mod is suppose to go to your kick, I don't think you can apply the same mod to a skill twice))
Xyn was starting to show some emotion for the first time since the game started. His mouth and a portion of the left side of his face showed some sign of annoyance. The boy understood that he shouldn't be annoyed at Serena, but he was annoyed nonetheless. He never really got into sports, but was it really this hard. It wasn't as if he was trying hard enough to show any results, but...
Xyn's mind diverted for a moment at Maya's tone. That snake... he was still bothering Maya. What did that boy hope to gain besides facing her fist? Xyn had seen Maya fight Karite for fun, he was slightly curious how she fought when she was actually angry... but not curious enough to stick around if her mood dove that deeply in anger.
His attention back on Serena, he noticed her attention had shifted to the two as well. He wondered how he could take advantage of this... even so, she was stronger than she looked. The two of them should be at the same level, and yet... maybe if Xyn tried harder he could...
Xyn barely touched the ball before it went passed him. His right eye blinked a few times as he looked toward the ball, and he finally lifted his patch to look through both his eyes. He definitely need to try harder...

Once Xyn stepped in front of the ball, he glared deeply at it. Any observer could almost see the 10 ton weight dropping from his eyes to crush it. His eyes lightened only when he lifted his head, but he still glared in Serena's direction, just not directly at her or the goal.
Mind games... Xyn lifted his right foot and eased it over the ball, letting it slide forward and backward as he thought. He'd have to make her think he was going to do one thing while doing another... the concept started to seem simple, but...
Forget it. Xyn simply wasn't good at that sort of thing. Without any warning, he simply let the ball slide forward and dropped his right foot down, swinging his left leg at the ball with all his weight.

((Think I'll give Kouri something to do...))
"KAW!" Munin suddenly called out from a nearby tree, frustrated with the cold weather as he shook his entire body. He was only outside for a few minutes and he missed Xyn's more cloak terribly. Not want to consider how spoiled he had become since traveling with the boy, Munin turned his attention to all the other humans. He almost flew over to greet Serena, but it seemed Xyn had beat him to it. If they were playing together, it was best not to interrupt. The last thing Munin wanted was to be scolded again. The raven snorted slightly as he stretched out his wings.
Target sighted...
Munin quickly flew down, just out of Xyn's sight, landing in front of the stranger stretching. He began with his usual routine, acting timidly at first and approaching with caution. Humans were so easy to predict this way. If Kane were like anyone else, the child would reach out his hand and try to coax Munin closer.

{Oh, my mistake -_o" Sorry 'bout that.}
Serena smiled again at her second victory, though Xyn looked like he was really starting to get aggravated or upset of something. He even took his eye patch off. His eye patch! It was the first time she had ever seen him without it, and he definitely looked different than when it was on. Either way, he seemed to be getting into the game a bit more. Maybe it was because he hadn't scored one. Or, a better thought was that it was because others were talking about him. She crouched by the goalpost and awaited Xyn's ball, watching it roll back and forth beneath his steady feet.
He was thinking pretty hard, or so it seemed. Hopefully he wouldn't take too long though. "Wha-" The Raiken gasped and snapped her head towards the direction of the trees. Some kind of bird..gave her a two second fright. Munin! She recognized the raven quickly afterwards and watched it dived towards the older genin. "Oh-hey! You scored a goal!" She was distracted long enough by Xyn's friend for him to swiftly kick the ball in..easily..a strong kick, too. "Good one. My turn again." She grinned at him and picked up another ball.
