Serena looked around the library, wondering where Sorri had gone. Hadn't he been following her?...unless..oh he would. Of course he would do something like that. She let out a heavy sigh, wondering what exactly her teammate was doing by not listening to Shinichi. He's going to get killed if their leader finds out Sorri isn't here! There was also an attack in the village, it was dangerous to be out there. She stopped to think, though. Wasn't their job to protect the village, the villagers? So they would, of course, have to help it there was an attack. But then again, as brand new genin, fresh out of the academy, they didn't have the skills to do such dangerous tasks yet..'Oh, this could go either way...I can't tell whose right and whose wrong..! Sorri, you better get back here alive or you're dead!" She got up and stomped her right leg, testing whether it was ok..it wasn't too bad, she didn't think..now that she was in the library, maybe she could go ahead and do some research?..but on what? She sat down again and began to think..what to look up..

Not sure of what to do now, Serena just sighed and slumped deeper into her chair. Tenko was there..but what would she talk to the nurse about? Plus, now the Raiken wanted to run back into the village to see if Sorri was okay..and what happened. She let out a silent groan and sat up straight again. This was boring. People don't sit around and wait while their other teammates are actively doing something else..maybe she could do something, some research? Yeah, that was why they were supposed to be headed to the library in the first place. "Let's see..what to look up?" She hummed a quiet tune as she thought..this ice monster wanted them to do some studying..well, why not start with what it was, then? It may be a good idea to know what exactly this intelligent being is, for Shinichi didn't know either. "Tenko-san...do you know anything about ice monsters?..." For some reason, the Raiken chose to ask the question straighforward. She was just interested, after all. She figured the nurse might know even just a little bit, for she would have to know how to treat such wounds and stuff. If that really had anything to do with it..

"Ice monsters?" Tenko asked, a little confused as to why the girl would inquire about such a topic. She hummed to herself as she recalled everything she knew. "What do you want to know about ice monsters? I can tell you there are a lot of different types, but they're all made in pretty much the same way. Every ice monster has a soul that, either by natural forces or jutsu, gets encased in ice. They often gain the ability to manipulate winter forces and the more powerful ones can even call up blizzards at will. Why don't you describe what this monster looked like so I can tell you more? And dear, why are you so interested in these creatures all of a sudden?" The nurse knew much about the spirits and otherworldly creatures because they fascinated her. When she was a teenager, she had followed an earth spirit into the forests, where she watched it grow new life with every step. The experience had cultivated a healthy interest in gardening, alchemy, and spirits in the nurse, one that she used both to heal and to entertain her patients as the lay about in the clinic with nothing to do.

Serena turned around and grabbed a book on a lower shelf and began to flip through the pages randomly as she listened quietly to Tenko. It was quite interesting, how these monsters were actually souls..covered in ice. So this monster that she and Sorri had been fighting. It most likely possessed some kind of strength that would have most definitely overpowered them at that time. Obviously, this ice monster seemed to be non-violent, or, at least, at the time it didn't want to cause much injury..."Oh! Ouch." The Raiken froze for a second and accidentally dropped the book. "Er, why I'm so interested?" Should she tell Tenko about it or not? Is it supposed to be a secret? What if she makes the wrong decision?

"Well, um..we were up at the Rice Farm just a couple of minutes ago..you probably heard about the yeti that was locked up in the barn.. Serena was still on edge about what she was going to say. But hey, Shinichi never said anything about not telling anyone about this mission. It obviously wasn't top secret anyways..the Raiken reasoned that she should tell Tenko. To heck with it anyways. A lesson learned is a lesson gained. "We were on a mission to kill the yeti, but it turned out to be this huge monster that seemed to be completely ice. It refused to fight for the most part..then we realized it wanted to tell us something, but couldn't talk. So it pantomimed something about reading and research..and then Shinichi sent me and Sorri to come here." There. That was pretty much what they did in a short summary. She wondered if this would even help her figure out anything at all.

Tenko also need to know what the ice monster looked like, too. Serena thought back to the appearance of that large monster and tried to recall some features that it had. "Oh, for a description..I guess I could start with it being big? A bit bulky.." What else. She put her index fingers on her temples and pushed. It felt good doing that, plus, it helped her think better. "Oh, okay, I think it's eyes were glowing, if that helps.."
What to do, what to do..the Raiken should be able to remember more features, but nothing seemed to come to her at the moment. "It was light blue..and I think it actually had fingers." That was all she could think of for physical features. Maybe she could come up with some..uh, non-physical features? Or still physical she really didn't know. "The monster seemed to be really strong, too. I mean, it managed to bust half the barn.."
Serena let her hands down again and took a deep breath. "I wish I had paid more attention to more of it's features..I know that if you give me a bit of time to think, I might be able to come up with some more. These are what I have for now, though.." She looked at Tenko, and then at the rest of the room. It was so quiet here..what about the chaos that Shinichi seemed to sense out there? What was going on, is everyone okay?

The light from the inside of the library seemed so mellow and confortable. Serena stopped to gaze outside from a nearby window. It was getting dark, maybe around evening. Shouldn't Shinichi-sensei and Sorri be here already? She was getting kind of worried. Maybe she should go out to take a look.
The Raiken was curious about the ice monster, too, though. She wanted to know what it was and how they could help. Plus, wasn't it still stuck at the rice farm being locked down by frozen water? They would have to go back and do something about it.
"Is there anything else you might need me to describe? I can try and see if I can remember anything else from then.." She looked at Tenko curiously, trying not to show her impatience in wanting to go outside to look for everyone else.

"Hmm... That's interesting," Tenko muttered, rising to disappear behind a dusty bookshelf, for few shinobi visited the sparsely stocked library nowadays. She didn't notice Serena's impatient, so focussed was she on the fact that there was a real live ice monster in town. She returned a few minutes later, empty-handed, with a small frown on her face. "I could have sworn I saw the book about that type of ice spirit, but Douken-san must have moved it! Well, as it is, I can't seem to remember the name of the spirit, but I can tell you what I remember from reading about him." The nurse took her seat again and offered Serena a parchment and scroll to take notes if she so wished.
"His name was Mizugi, a rather withered man, but nevertheless, someone extremely skilled in ninjutsu. He especially liked the water element, though he could use fire and wind just fine," Tenko recalled, her bottom rising up a little more with each phrase as she got increasingly excited at telling the tale. "Mizugi lived long before schools or even styles of ninjutsu were organized so to learn, he had to wander the world, taking in all he could from nature. Legend has it that he came upon Shimagakure one day, drifted in from a bad storm. Stranded, he studied water ninjutsu until it came time for him to die. But though he was great, you see, Mizugi was human and greatly feared death. Exactly a day before it came time for the Reaper to pay him a visit, Mizugi invented a technique that would allow him to fuse his soul into Shimagakure's waters and be a part of this world for as long as the seas remained."
The nurse sniffed from her cold and took a breath, then continued, talking increasingly faster as she went on, for she truly enjoyed this story. To think that it might even be true! "The jutsu worked, but you see, Nature doesn't like things that stay the same for far too long. She tried to roughed up the ocean, pounding Mizugi against the cliffs. Next, she multiplied the fish, hoping their rough scales and sharp fins would tear into his flesh. Finally, she decided to make winters so cold that even the salt water froze. This tactic finally kept the naughty Mizugi in check as normally he'd be frozen beneath the waves every winter. However, this year, ever since Tuhai-san moved away and Yuki-sama went into forced retirement, there's been no concern for the land. Shinobi trash the earth in training and don't bother to restore what they've hurt. Nature was forced to, in a sense, expel impurities from the water. She threw out Mizugi, leaving him with what I thing must be bitter rage over the harsh treatment he's endured over the long years."

The hope of discovering the monster's true nature was lost when Tenko came from behind the shelves, no book in sight. Serena sighed, wondering whether or not it would be better for her to go outside to find the others. After all, there was nothing else about the ice monster here...but then, the Raiken's spirits raised just a bit when the nurse explained that she could still tell her a story about it. And so, Serena listened to the story of a man by the name of Mizugi, who fused his soul with Shima's waters to escape death and remain in this world forever.
"Wow..Mizugi, huh.." Somewhere near the beginning of Tenko's story, Serena had already been drawn in. She could feel a lot from the story, she felt just that Mizugi should suffer the consequences of escaping death and interfering with nature. She also felt sorry for Mizugi, as he had been treated terribly. She felt guilty that she and other shinobi didn't care about the state of their own village-Well, they do, but not as much as they used to..

The Raiken literally just wanted to apologize immediatly for her mistreatment of the land. "I see..we really aren't paying as much attention to our land as we used to.." She smiled apologetically and looked down the corner of her eye.
Something else about the story was wrong, too..this Mizugi person..was he actually real? Tenko had only mentioned it was a story, but also stated that it might be true, considering her and Sorri's encounter with an ice monster of the sort today. It was quite an intriguing situation. It was possible, almost likely that this monster was Mizugi, the shinobi in the story. Such a smart shinobi, figuring out how to fuse his soul into nature, but so fearful of death..that wasn't the way of a shinobi. Instead, one should be ready to give their life to protecting Shimagakure and the people of.

At least, that was what Serena was taught and what she was going to stay with. It was absolutely true to her and nothing would change that. She loved Shimagakure more than anywhere else in the world and it was going to stay that way. The Raiken was buried deep into her thoughts about this situation, attempting to come up with some kind of resolution for it-to why Mizugi wasn't like that and why he had come to the village. It was a hopeless case, though, but she didn't realize that until she had spent much of her time thinking about it.
"Oh, so Mizugi really is real, then? That ice monster--it could really be Mizugi's soul infused into the ice?" Serena began to question Tenko again, doubting that the nurse could give an exact answer, but wanting to break the silence. Maybe she could learn more by continuing the conversation. Too bad the book was gone. There was probably a good amount of information in there about the ice mon--Mizugi.

~Midnight Time~
Sorri made his way to the Library a pace that would have been much faster if he wasn't so exhausted, he had been on the move all day and with out a moments res or a proper meal. he was drained physically. Even with all the stomach growling and slight migraine he trudged through to try and continue on this mission. He tripped on a ice block and look back at it and noticed his light red foot prints, disturbed by the image that he had been on a war zone..that he was some killer was still something he didn't wanna think on. He took the sandals off, bearing the chill to his bear feet and began to wiped them clean with snow and did the same with his feet. and put them back on with a sigh. He went back to walking while looking up at the night sky, the specks of untouchable light allowing his mind to wonder. When he got to the building for scrolls and books he found that the building was silent and absent with people. He did find his coat at the door though, he had given it to Serena earlier right...yeah. The little boy, comfortable shrouded in his fully white attire again, made his way.. well, where should he go? Ero, he needed to go and see her.

~Twilight~
After a while, Serena found herself slowly drifting into a trance-like state. She was no longer listening to Tenko anymore, but rather, trying to keep herself awake. Someone entered while she struggled to keep her head up..it looked like..Sorri? He was finally back. The Raiken smiled and sighed in relief. Sorri was safe, and that meant Shinichi was probably okay, too. She was too tired to notice the red stains on his clothes, nor did she see the red footprints trailing behind him. All she knew as of that time was that her teammate, friend, was not badly injured in any way and hopefully no trouble would come to them through the night. She leaned back in her chair and slipped the band from her ponytail out. She doubted that she would even be able to make it to the dorms, since it was chilly outside and she was too tired. The Raiken did not have to worry about any of that for long, though..Soon, sleep won her over and Serena's arm caught her as her head gently fell to the table. It felt so good to finally rest..it had been a good day..her first day as a genin. A sense of accomplishment and satisfaction surrounded her as she went into a deep sleep in the peace of the library.

"Tomorrow, then," said Tenko as she too found herself getting drowsier by the minute. The nurse, stretched and glanced out into the moonlit night, the great white ball's rays dancing softly on the empty village. Her thoughts drifted to the ice monster and whether the creature really was a ninjutsu master in disguise. Wouldn't... that... be... exci...tin..g? Tenko had just enough time to drape a soft blanket from Douken-san's supply closet over hers and Serena's shoulders before her head softly hit the table.
