shelcombakasfire's main point isn't that debating shouldn't go on, krego. Her point is that the purpose of this thread is just to list something that annoys you. It is not a thread appropriate for debate because it isn't even a thread that warrants DISCUSSION in the first place. She isn't saying that discussion or debate should not happen. She is simply saying that it doesn't belong in the thread at all. If someone says "the war annoys me X amount" it's their opinion and doesn't warrant any sort of response in the same way that saying "I don't like jelly donuts" doesn't give me reason to jump up and defend jelly donuts here (even if I liked them).

that being said, shelcombakasfire should realize that it is perfectly within the lines of this thread for krego to say "people that don't support the war annoy me." If he must say more than that, he is welcome to make a debate thread on the topic. His desire to discuss and debate the topic is fine and shouldn't be restricted to a pm because I am sure that many of us would enjoy observing and even participating in it. He makes a good point that just because he probably won't change the other person's opinion doesn't mean that other people will not get something out of the debate and possibly revise their own thoughts on the subject. What isn't appropriate in this particular thread is for him to launch into a full-blown discussion/debate when it isn't necessary. Each of us are entitled to our own opinion and it's fine to express that opinion (even if it clashes with someone else's). What isn't cool is when you go beyond simply expressing it and start trying to impose your opinions and beliefs upon those who disagree with you. Also, explaining your opinion isn't really necessary here either.

This thread isn't about why things annoy you. It's about what annoys you and how much. Can we try to stick to that here? question

that being said...it annoys me when people mispronounce words when they know the correct pronunciation and are perfectly capable of doing so. Someone says "sayonara" with a hard "r" and I cringe. I'd rate it at 3...it disrupts my glee. I'd give it a 5 though if the person knows it's one of my pet peeves and does it just to bug me.

I hate 70% of Krego-Sama's outward online personality. Any and all discussions on this will be dutifully ignored. smile
