Lt. Brookman No, its the whole comic, seeing as the Comedian is in it and the story starts out with him dead and squished. Visuals aside I am going to wait and see. Same with GIJOE, though Sienna Miller looking like this is a good thing: *can't find image of a gun-toting Baroness at the moment* well I have seen some photos of GIJoe that make it look like a riot waiting to happen. Some that make me happy. Its almost like they are put crap in public and I good movie somwhere hidden. But world from Cobra Commander say it is quite the departure from reality. Which to me mean we could expect anything thing from tons of lasers to COBRA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA... LA LA LA LA LA LA.... Gasp LALALALALALA

Epic Fail Guy I saw American History X a while ago. My life was changed. Are you going to stomp darkies now or just over up that tattoo on your chest?

Saw Prince Caspian two days ago with my girlfriend. Good stuff in general. The raid on King Miraz's castle was a welcome addition to put in more action.

The graphics were pretty damn good, but (I understand it's a kid/family/PG movie) the utter lack of blood was a bit disconcerting for me. I mean, scenes where someone rakes a sword across someone's throat, and the blade is still utterly clean? Once, and it won't break my suspension of disbelief, but it was every time.

Perhaps it's because you were there with your girlfriend (bold 'n' all). The movie was being polite. Quote: Americans are going to do a movie about the Battle of Britain and the main character is an American who in real life got shot down in the early days of the war and died, but in the movie will most likely screw Churchill's daughter and singlehandedly win the air war against Germany. British will have the outrageous "funny" accents and most other nations that flew during the campaign will most likely be omitted. So no flying Poles gonk So they're just going to extend Pearl Harbour's sub plot? D: Also, as far as battle movies go, I think we need some more on Stalingrad. All that I know of is Enemy at the Gates. Can anyone name some more?

Most interestingly is that the movie is made by Germans and is really gritty about how everybody was blown up, starved or frozen to death.

Wow. That sounds good. But after a bit of a search, looks like I'll have to actually buy it. I'll get round to that some time. Being a German movie about Stalingrad makes it pretty intriguing.

Being a German movie about Stalingrad makes it pretty intriguing. It's less melodramatic and more to the point, with none of the wussy stuff that Enemy at the Gates had. See it as a prelude to der Untergang, which was a shocking movie on some levels. Seeing men shoot their selves upon hearing that all is lost is somewhat disturbing.

Hm. It was more disturbing watching them cyanide their wives and kids, really. There's plenty of suicide in Flags from Iwo Father. That stuff's disturbing, holding a grenade to your chest.

Those were disturbing deaths, just goes to show how far they went for their country and emperor. Though I found the beating and stabbing of that captured marine rather frightening. sad

Yeah. gonk That bit hit me pretty hard. That's weird isn't it, the bits they don't actually show can be the worst.
I do like how they tied that little event into both movies, though.

At least it showed both sides as human beings instead of the previous movies where the japanese were little yellow midgets with large teeth and no ammo. I especially cringed at the end of the japanese movie when the last survivor tried to assault those marines with his shovel.

Oh man yeah. D:
I thought he was a gonner.
And yeah, I was glad and disturbed that it showed both as people. But did you notice that it showed the Marines more as people in the latter, than it did the Japanese as people in the former?
Still, at least the second movie righted it all.
It would be really interesting if they did an English/German set like that.
Or a German/Russian one.. About Stalingrad. : D
