"Yes, because Jose is so phonetic," the boy chuckled before answering the question, "But yeah, we're just learning new conjugations of verbs that sound exactly the same, you know, the usual. What about you, finish copying my homework yet?"

Instead of answering verbally, Kira unzipped her backpack and started thumbing through papers. Internally, she groaned. Her backpack was a black hole, it really was; it sucked innocent paperwork in and compressed it until there was nothing left. Finally she pulled out Shawn's homework, thankfully with minimal wrinkles, and handed it to him. "Thanks again," she added sincerely, "There are no words to describe how dead I would have been."

"Those work well enough for me, though I would mind some mindless groveling," the boy smirked as he grasped the wrinkled paper. As he looked it over, he saw that a few of the numbers were slightly smugged from her bag, but at least it was legible and in one piece, "By the way, why didn't you do it again?"

Kira looked at him at askance. "Do what again?" she asked blankly. Then she blinked and smiled. "The homework? I wouldn't have had time to finish it, Shawn. I'm not you, you know." Her smile turned playful. "Mr. Math Genius." Her eyes widened as she remembered something. "Oh, you'll never guess what!" she all but squeeked, gleeful, "I totally hit Domhnal in English. He didn't even get a block up!" All of her friends knew about her constant campain to be a more competent martial artist than Domhnal, a campain that had so far been completely unsuccessful, mostly because he was a high red belt in Tykuando while she was only a low green.

(by again I meant like he couldn't remember if she told him or not, not like this is the twelth time she forgot.)
Shawn couldn't help but grin at the math genius comment, knowing that both he and his brother were high above average, though neither were the type to brag, afterall, neither one had much talent for the artistic part of the school. This in itself had once again brought to mind the question of why their father had even bothered enrolling them to begin with, but there seemed to be no time for contemplation as Kira had good news of her own, "Wow that's great. I guess that explains what you were doing all last night huh? Working on your mad ninja skills," Shawn joked then began karate chopping the air.

Kira laughed, but before she could reply a rather ominous shadow fell over them. She flinched, then looked up with a bright, winning smile. "Good morning, Ms. Lewis!" she chirped.
The eccentric-looking, lime green clothed woman the greeting was directed to did not seem particularly impressed. "Kira, Shawn, I understand that you are having a very important conversation, but I would like to start class." She peered at the girl severely over magenta-rimmed spectacles. "If that's quite alright with you, of course."
Kira was, by this point, bright pink, but she determinedly continued to look Ms. Lewis in the eye. "Yes, Ma'am," she replied politely.
The woman nodded and seemed to relax. "Alright," she continued, now addressing the whole class, "Today we're going to work on improvisation again." The entire class groaned softly, but Kira perked up substantially. She loved thinking on her feet. "Please divide into groups of..." Ms. Lewis trailed off, silently pointing to each student. "I think four will do nicely."

The boy began eying his fellow student, searching for potential partners, but could not seem to make up his mind. Their were many talented actors in the class, especially compared to himself. "So, who else should we ask?" Shawn commented once Ms. Lewis walked away, assuming already that the two of them would work together.

Conall slowly turned his eyes to his partner. He looked slowly at the hand and then grabbed it with two fingers. He moved the hand up and down, looking quite mad in the process. -"Conall." Conall let go of Alex's hand and began biting his thumbnail again. He pulled out a piece of paper and looked to Alex. -"So what should we write about?" His voice was light and wispy, almost as if he was losing his voice.

Solaris paused by the door, mulling over the task at hand. Damn bureaucracy...of all the times to spring its ugly head. This was one part of her school life she didn't look forward to. What, did all the teachers she assisted have a consensus for group infirmity just to make her life more difficult than usual?
"Eh might as well.." she glanced at the brown paper in her hand and checked to make sure this was the right class before opening the door, wincing slightly when it nearly ripped off the hinges and slammed into the wall behind. At least it saved her the trouble of catching the teacher's attention. "Oh hello there Ms...Lewis right?" A lesser person would have quailed from the green dervish before her but Solaris wasn't so popular among the teachers for no reason. She eyeballed the woman right back, a lazy smile playing around her lips, and cut the latter off just as she was about to speak.
"What am I doing here right? Good question, asking myself the same damn thing- oh perdonne my french- but it's official business." Solaris's smile became a feral grin as she walked into the classroom, waving the brown folder. "Oh it's just that it's that time of the year again, evaluation week, and guess who picked your name off the hat? Emerson...too bad he's got a bad case of the tonsils and as his assistant, the thankless task of stepping in his place falls to his unfortunate underling and you guessed it... me."
Her smile turned mischievous and she shrugged, "Don't worry, I'm with you in not relishing this cos honestly I can think of a hundred better things to do with my time but the rules are rules...so I'm just gonna mosey on over there-" Her hand jerked to nowhere in particular "- and fill this questionnaire while you teach. Don't mind me, in fact it'll be as though I was never here." Solaris enjoyed the moment before turning and walking toward the single empty desk, oblivious of the evil look been thrown her way from behind.

The exchange between the junior girl and Ms. Lewis, if it could be called an exchange, was extremely interesting; Kira didn't quite know whether to laugh or not. Ms. Lewis was severe sometimes, sure, but she was a good teacher. She couldn't imagine talking to anyone in a position of authority that way herself. Sure, there was playful banter with teachers she really liked, but no brazen rudeness, not like this girl was dishing it out, anyway. She was trying to figure out the last time she was sarcastic to a teacher when she realized that Shawn had asked her a question. "Hmmm? Oh. Whoever you think," she answered vaguely. "I've never seen Ms. Lewis look that mad," she added, mostly to herself.

"I actually thought it was kinda funny," the twin responded quietly, trying to avoid his teacher's ear.
Alex could not help but sigh at the boy's response. It would seem being friendly to strangers was far to nuisance to balance with the equally annoying assignment. His perceived bitterness returned in full bloom through his answer, "How about a story about an incompetent teacher who gave his student an idiotic assignment so that he could spen the rest of the period staring at the ceiling."

Conall's initial reaction was to actually right this down, but then the answer registered. Conall just froze and slowly looked to Alex. Then, something rare happened. He smiled. This may just be someone he could really get to know and for once like. -"Or an incompetent fool who is afraid of his own students."

"Funny?" Kira still looked uncertain. "I feel sort of sorry for her, but..." She shook her head, marshaling her thoughts. "Carrie's a pretty competent actress, and she's really good at reacting quickly. What d'ya think?" Without waiting for a response, she waved Carrie over, smiling. The other girl grinned back and moved to join them; unfortunately, so did her giggling girlfriend, well known for her complete incompetence in every single class. Kira shot a guilty, 'oh well' sort of smile in Shawn's direction.

Alex's eyes seemed to widen at the Conall's words and had he had a drink, he surely would have spit it out. This was not the reaction he was used to hearing, "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get writing," Alex smirked as he reclined in his chair. Immediately, without even bothering to bend over, the teenager dug into his bag for a pencil.
Though he could tell that Kira was fairly disappointed by their fourth, all Shawn could seem to think was, 'Damn, she's hot!'

Kira noticed the expression on his face and rolled her eyes. "Put your eyes back in your head, Shawn," she said dryly. "She has a boyfriend. Don't you?" she asked the girl. It wasn't a real question; she was just looking for confirmation.
The girl, who had been engaged in giggling with Carrie, looked at Kira blankly for a few seconds, then beamed. "Actually, it's really funny you should ask that, because I was going out with Eric until two days ago, but then I found out he had been meeting Valarie for no-commitment make-out sessions. I mean, how screwed up is that?" Kira really didn't know how screwed up this was, as she didn't know who either of the two guilty parties even were, but before she could say this the girl was off again. "So I called him up and told him never to speak to me again, but today he gave me the sweetest note..." she trailed off, sharing a dreamy eyed look with Carrie, who had obviously read said note as well, then continued brightly. "So now we are totally back to ether, and I think we'll end up married, or something. It's just destiny."
Kira stared, completely speechless as disgust and amusement warred for top billing. And people said she talked to fast. At least she had something to say. Finally she got herself under control. "So, the short answer is 'yes'," she said, her voice surprisingly even.
