Chess… muggle chess or wizard chess? Seeing the male perk up for perhaps really the first time since she met him (at least that much) Aurum put off asking in favor of giving him a smile. “Oh yes. I don’t really know much about them, but my housemates play them often enough. And Ifrit’s often playing them at the Place I think too. Probably why I’ve not had a chance to meet him.” She giggled slightly, knowing from Uncle Aear & Zell that the fire aeon did other things too like drinking and paintball.

This place he spoke of sounded interesting, and Aurum was one that liked to make others smile. “I don’t know about people… but there might be a way to find a place like that.” Find. Make. Whatever. But no people. She had heard some of AB Zell’s experience in that regard. All in their house with magic had and many without. Of course not the whole experience, but enough to warn them not to try.

“Although… well I probably shouldn’t invite you home yet, having just met, and … well… it just wouldn’t be right of me to invite you to Fierra Place.” Her smile faltered, gold marked white face falling slightly. “Oh I’m sorry… it would’ve been better had I never brought it up.”

For of course Aurum did not know that Deadpool had brought Josh home with him and they were both crashing at the Place. Why would she?

The Place. Technically, he lived there...temporarily, as he had pointed out to Deadpool, until he found another place to live. So far, he wasn't exactly looking for one now. It was probably because Wade usually shoved him into closets and locked him in. Plus, he didn't exactly know the kitsusagi's names who lived there; there were too many.

And he didn't really know about the concept of magic doors.

"No, it's okay. I...kinda live at the Fierra Place for the moment anyway." He assured her, reaching out a paw to pat her reassuringly on the shoulder.

It was hard to say which brought her bright smile: the words or the pat. One was very good news, the other exactly what it was intended to be in being very reassuring. Even comforting. Contact was such an easy thing to Aurum. "Fierra Place! Why, that's perfect! They're the only others I know that have one. A magic door like at home I mean." Her green eyes were sparkling. "You can make an arcade there! Even have it kitsu-fied." The alchemist witch giggled softly at the use of such a word. It sounded made-up. Still her golden tails were wagging with soft happiness behind her. Just the thought of maybe leading someone to something that would make them happy.

"Wait, what magic door?" It was easy to see that he was clueless about it. That and he was rather confused, after days of being shoved and locked into the closet, then watching some television with Deadpool, and finding the library. No one had told him about the concept of that door yet.

So, this...magic door, could make an arcade? It led him to wonder if a workshop could be made too, to possibly create a spaceship. Of course, he'd had to have Brett by his side. There was no way he was working on something that big on his own.

Aurum tilted her head at the space marshal thoughtfully at the question & then suddenly giggled softly. "Oh you've not been told. ah... sorry? I forget sometimes... Right! The Door! It's a door that gr-daddy and some of the other magic users at home made in Fierra Place -from a closet I think- that's like ours at home. It's... special magic. Gr-daddy calls it a conglomerate of magics, because many types of magic came together to build it. All one needs to do is to think of the room wanted while opening the door and it's there. But not people. Things only. It's very convenient, with both of our houses growing so large -our house can remain cozy & still have room for all of us."

"Well, Wade shoved me into a closet and locked me up once we got there. I didn't really get much of a chance to explore the place, really." It was rather uncomfortable in there, and his tails had got stuck in a corner when he tried to come out, after someone had unlocked the door.

Magic. It still was rather unbelievable to him, but he had grudgingly accepted the fact that it existed...for now. "That's...interesting." He said.

Wait. Whoa. Did that mean he had already used it? He did enter the library to study after all. Not that he actually read much.

Green eyes went wide and Aurum's jaw dropped in disbelief. "Cousin Wade did what?" The girl clearly did not spend a whole lot of time with Deadpool or she would know that was exactly the kind of guy he was.

Incredulous, Aurum shook her head causing her hair to swing. "I can't see why he'd do that... Josh I'm sorry. I'd no idea..." She gave a silly laugh. Before Wade approached her on this 'date' matter she had not known Josh existed -of course she had not idea of this closet matter. "At least you can explore now? I hope?"

He only replied with a shrug and a slight grimace. "He's like that. I'm still trying to get used to his quirks. Like babbling nonsensical stuff and setting me up on a blind date behind my back." It was a while when he noticed her reaction, and laughed weakly. "You don't really know him, do you?"

"I...guess so. I got into the library, but I'm not sure I used that magic door. He never really explained about it." Deadpool had, also, not told him about the 'past life' thing; he had learnt it from Xanul. Or maybe he had while Josh was spacing out, and not paying attention to his incoherent babblings.

She took on his reaction, eyes crinkling a bit with a cringe catching Josh's grimace. Was that how her cousin was like? How had he had kits? Of course... 'aunt' Chroma had kits, so maturity really was not a prerequisite for the job. Very sheepishly, Aurum smiled and shook her head. She had not even officially met his & cousin Bryna's kits. Uncle Hemi probably actually knew Wade better -the rest of them had little to no direct contact with the mercenary.

Aurum thought about whether the Place's library was within the 'door' or room of its own. Usually she read books there that were already in Endless' room so surprisingly enough the avid studier had not been to the library there. A white gloved paw went to her mouth as she giggled -still very sheepishly- and green eyes smiled over it. "Well, the nice thing about the door is it really doesn't need explaining -the room will be what you need when you open it. Just gets confusing when the same door leads different places I would guess."

Of course having grown up with the magical doors and even using them to connect the two houses since she was a kit, Aurum could only imagine. Her paw lowered and so did her eyes a little while still looking at Josh's face. "Is the blind date so bad a thing?" She asked a bit softly. He was such a nice guy... Aurum did not want to trouble him.

He nodded slowly. "It is rather confusing. I mean...magic doesn't exist in my planet, my world, my life. It's mostly scientific." The concept of a door leading to so many different rooms because of magic...well, the very thought made his head spin, and wonder what Brett would say to this.

Eyebrows shot up at her reaction, and he winced. "Nonono, well. I mean...um..." He cleared his throat and let out a small sigh. "It's just that going on a date with someone you don't know is a little awkward, y'know? But well." He flashed her a grin. "You're a nice girl, Aurum." He said, sincerely. She was the 'little sister' type, and well, being an only child, he could only imagine what it was like to have siblings.

Oh no! She worried him! Green eyes flicked up filled with concern at Josh's sharp reaction. Listening to him Aurum's expression softened shyly, going into a full but soft smile at his grin. Sheepishly she pawed at the ground at her paws, smoothing out the first transmutation circle and drawing a new one. "yeah... I guess I can see how it can be a little awkward..." Her tone was almost teasing. She was getting to experience the awkwardness herself. Still... overall Aurum was very glad for this experience. "Thanks. You're nice too." Her smile warmed until it was something like an intangible hug. It would not bother her to be thought of as a little sister by this kitsu. Not at all.

"um... from what I've learned a lot of 'worlds' are more science than magic. I know Daddy is often uncomfortable with all the magic at home. He & William prefer the science of Alchemy." Aurum smiled understandingly, not really thinking that Alchemy to a mechanically scientific world & its people would seem just as much magic as the magic of wizards. "I like to practice both alchemy & magic, though it means I'm probably not as good at one or the other as perhaps I could be."

"Yeah, I'm still getting used to this place...and well, dating was seriously not the first thing on my mind." It seemed to be though, on Wade's. Someone had to whack some sense into him, but Josh wasn't even sure if whacking would make him more sane, or instead, more insane than he already was. He smiled. Nice? Him? Definitely not a word Brett or Yoko would use to describe him, just perhaps not in front of him.

"This al-che-my." He pronounced it slowly, furrowing his eyebrows. "I don't know, it seems to be some form of magic to me."

Aurum grinned. "Well that makes sense. I mean... well I don't have anything to get used to and I never think of dating." There was a sweet sounding giggle from her. Of course, since she had not really known what a 'date' was perhaps that was to be expected but now knowing... well it was like thinking of searching for a mate and therefor the same was true. Aurum thought more of her studies than romance. No matter how much romance she saw around the house, and particularly between her parents.

Her eyes sparkled with gentle mirth at Josh's pronunciation of her father & uncle's specialty. At his comment though Aurum made a small 'o' with her mouth, face going into an expression of 'oh no, you did not just say that!' before shifting sheepishly into an almost conspiratory way as she shifted close to whisper in similar fashion. "shhh... Daddy hates to hear Alchemy called anything other than a science." Pulling back she giggled. "We do have to study, and know the composition of what makes things -their basic elemental composition- so that we can change them or alter them, and know the different transmutation circles to draw... but really..." Now she looked a little worried. "Scientifically, I don't know where the energy comes from to make the changes we do with Alchemy so... in that sense it becomes more like magic." Green eyes were wide and Aurum made a small gasp. "But please... if you ever meet my father don't tell him I even considered much less said such a thing! He'd go berserk!"

It seemed, to Josh at least, that Wade was the only kitsu interested in dating. Whenever he had brought up the topic with Emo Boy, the poor kid only spluttered and blushed, and babbled some nonsense about him never becoming a father. Or liking a girl. Which was actually quite suspicious.

"Well, I guess part of it does seem scientific. It's just that, well, as you said, the energy to change things seem to be quite magical." He said thoughtfully, eyebrows raising at the girl's shock. "Don't worry, I won't say a thing. Who's your...father anyway?" He had to know, or else he might accidentally say something wrong.

Suspicious indeed, and something perhaps Aurum would be quite interested in talking about her full & probably closest cousin. Xanul had after all been her pen-pal while he was away. But they were not talking about her cousin right now. They were talking about Aurum's darling daddy, and while she was nothing like her mother was in holding a true candle for her father Aurum was a daddy's girl. She nodded with a smile while they still talked of the magic versus the science of alchemy. What would she think if she ever learned her other grandfather's theory of where the energy for alchemic transmutations came from? Of the connection between the gate of Ameris & Shamballa? Where then would this fit into that theory then? Not that it mattered, for Aurum knew nothing of those things. Edward was unlikely to speak of either his father or what they had spoke of on the other side of the gate, way back in his before.

Her shock at the possibility of what she had said getting back to her father turned first to a smile of grateful relief. "Thank you." A moment later the white and gold female was proudly drawing up her petite frame -giving a gentle ruffle of her red wings to resettle them upon her back- as she sat up proudly. "He's Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist."

Love and pride were strong in her voice. Green eyes sparkled. Slowly Aurum sheepishly ducked her chin, glancing playfully up at her 'date' through bangs that nearly obscured her vision at this angle. "ah... ehm.. while we're on the subject of things not to mention to Daddy... best not mention his size. Or milk." The smaller kitsu gave a giggle. "Best not to mention size to any of my siblings. Mom and I are the only ones it seems who don't mind being smaller than normal for kitsusagi." Yes... probably best to warn her new friend of that. Although some (*cough* Deadpool *cough*) might find knowing something like this a way to get some very amusing reactions, Aurum was confident Josh would not take such a warning as something to test out. She lifted her head again, tossing her long braid back with a warm smile. "Daddy just doesn't like milk. Uncle Al doesn't understand it either but says it goes back to when they were little boys."
