He tried not to sound too concerned. Really, he just met Ridley. Still... as much as he hated people... Ridley seemed...
... different.

"Nah, I'm pretty sure I'll be going with at least one other person," Ridley shrugged. "I know it'll be hard, but it's what I've always wanted to do... so I'm not worried, really," he nodded. He smiled, hearing a hint of concern in Liam's voice.
"I'll be fine!"
He wanted to suggest that Liam come with him, but he wasn't sure how well Liam would take that. It wasn't like they went back a long way or anything. yet he was Ridley's closest friend in Zatao... that had to count for something.

Liam smiles, chuckling. "I'm sure you'll have fun."
He didn't say anymore, thanking the waitress quietly before delving into his waffles, licking the whipped cream off his lips, losing himself in the taste.
"Delicious. As always."

Ridley, who hadn't eaten since lunch with Liam yesterday, was starving. He dug into his eggs, the runny yolks seeping into his crepes, and sucked down his whole cup of coffee in the first two minutes. He was slower with the crepes, savoring them.
"Man, these are great. You should try a crepe, they're awesome," Ridley offered him a forkful, watching him lick off the cream and nearly dropping the utensil.

Liam saw that. And it was so satisfying.
Staring at the fork, Liam glanced up, wrinkling his nose at him. "I've never had crepe."

"Try some," Ridley insisted, his voice catching a little, but he controlled himself. He pushed the fork at Liam's lips, not quite touching them. "I promise they're good."

Liam made another face, pursing his lips before parting his lips, leaning forward a bit to curl his lips around the fork, pulling the food off the fork and chewing it slowly. Swallowing, he tilted his head.
"It's... good," He started, making another face, "But how you can have that with egg, I don't know."

Ridley watched him avidly and decided he'd need to take another shower that night. He was definitely staying at Liam's again, if he'd have him.
Grinning as he broke from his reverie, he shook his head. "See, I told you. And I guess it's an acquired taste. I've been eating this since I was a kid but it never gets old," he sighed happily, eating the rest of that crepe and starting on the next. The waitress brought him another cup of coffee and he paused for a moment to stir it, letting it cool a little.
"It's so peaceful. Something....one... is missing," he grinned, remembering Teddy from yesterday.

Liam groaned, slapping his forehead. Teddy. He knew he was talking about Teddy. The cute, slightly annoying rich boy. The thought made Liam smirk despite himself.
"You want to call him?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow. "Aww, and I thought you wanted me all to yourself."

"I do," Ridley said without thinking to his second remark, and flushed once he realized he'd said it. "Uh. I enjoy spending time with you. That kid is nice, but I'd rather have a nice peaceful breakfast with you..." he justified himself, smiling sweetly.
"I do feel kind of bad, though. What if he found out we hadn't called him?"

For the first time in a long time Liam flushed, Ridley's statement taking him off guard. He covered it up with another smirk and raised eyebrows, hoping he didn't get teased TOO much.
"We'll make it up to him."

Ridley didn't say anything, though abruptly his regard held a ton more heat than before, and he didn't censure himself. "Yeah," he agreed, then looked down at his food, starting to eat again.

Surprised as he was, Liam couldn't help but feel his blush rise as he felt him look at him, despite how much he kicked himself for it. However, Ridley said nothing about it, and Liam did not bring it up either. Instead, he munched quietly on his waffles, the strawberries suddenly not exactly what he wanted.
"...how will we do it?" he asked finally, breaking the silence.

Ridley almost couldn't stand it, and brooded over last night while he finished his crepes and his coffee, saying nothing when the waitress came by with toast and more for him to drink.
Ridley had a mouthful of toast when Liam asked his question and he choked, sucking on his hot coffee and burning his tongue. "What?" he asked, staring at Liam.

Ha. Well, Liam knew where Ridley's mind was. Smirking, he gave the other boy an amused look, looking entirely too smug for his own good.
