Revenge Gone Wrong
Silva
Silva had a small creature tucked under his arm like a football as he walked across the yard. He had a determined look on his face as he went, as if he was forcing himself to do something that he didn't really want to do.

"Flowers..." He muttered around his toothpick. "Make sure you burn the damn things, would you?" He asked the small creature, earning a sleepy wide-mouthed yawn.

He slipped through the gap in the fence, looking around. If she wasn't there, he thought, he could just leave it on her step. And then she would have to deal with the evil little b*****d burning down her porch, too. The thought made him grin wickedly.

Ruya
Unfortunately for Silva, Ruya was there. Perched on the window leading out to her porch from the kitchen, she was humming and petting a small cat.

She didn't notice Silva, totally absorbed in her own little world.

Silva
Silva jerked as he saw her, his grip tightening slightly on the small dragon, enough to make the small creature let out a puny roar of complaint. "Damn I hope she didn't hear that..." He muttered, taking a step back and wishing there were darker shadows to hide in.

The small dragon squirmed, trying to escape his grasp. But Silva was focused on the girl he wanted revenge on.

Ruya
Hmm? Ruya looked up, having thought she heard something.

"Someone out there?"

She blinked and leaned forward a bit, earning a cry of protest from the cat in her lap.

"Silva?"

Silva
"s**t..." He muttered, unable to stop himself from taking a step from out of the shadows. He was an eerie sight, half there, half hidden in the shadow, the small creature tucked under his arm. He chewed on his toothpick, watching her for a while without saying a word.

"Darlin..." He finally said in a form of greeting. The small dragon under his arm struggled, giving a plaintive cry.

Ruya
Ruya blinked and offered him a smile. She shooed the cat back into the kitchen and floated down out of the window onto the porch.

"What have you got there?"

Silva
"Nothing much." He muttered, biting back a grunt as the dragon bit his arm. He dropped it, watching as the small dragon ran across the clearing to stop at Ruya's feet. "Just... that." He finished, crossing his arms over his chest, waiting for the dragon to DO something.

Nothing happened, save for the dragon giving a little yawn. Silva scowled.

Ruya
"Is he for me?"

Ruya smiled and knelt down to pick the little dragon up. Once she got a good look at him she squealed, "You're so cute!"

Silva
Cute... *Twitch* Dammit to hell, he wasn't supposed to be "So cute." He was supposed to be lighting her on fire! Nipping at her feet! Not begging for belly scratchings! He scowled, finally remembering what she had asked.

"Yeah. Something like that." He muttered, hating himself for enjoying the sight of her happy. So what if she hadn't kissed the other male? She had still given him the impression she was interested. That whole "unsure" bullshit didn't go over with him.

Ruya
Ruya cradelled the little guy like a baby and scratched his tummy, cooing at him.

"Hmm... where can I put you? I know! You can sleep with me."

Snuggle, snuggle. Oh wait, Silva was still here.

"That was really sweet of you to get him for me Silva."

She looked away, unable to meet his eyes for a moment.

"This really isn't the time, but I've been thinking and I think we should talk sometime."

Silva
Okay... now that was just cruel. He was jealous of a dragon, for crying out loud! The damn thing had gotten more love then him and the other kid combined. And he got to SLEEP with her? Not that he cared, he told himself, clearing his expression of anything save a smirk.

"Talk, huh? Fine. Whatever." He chewed on his toothpick, looking her over. "What, no snog as thanks? I'm hurt, darlin. And here I picked him out just for you." He stopped, cursing himself for admitting that fact.

Ruya
Ruya blinked a couple times and bit her lip. It was a really sweet gift, but she had decided no more kissing until she talked to Neruo.

"Well, I'd love to kiss you Silva, I think you know that, " she blushed a little thinking about it, "but I can't. I decided I wouldn't until I told Neruo about you and I."

She snuggled the little dragon some more, and played with his wings. Just like Silva's really.

Silva
"... Tell him." He repeated after a while. And when she told him what would keep the kid from telling her that Silva had already told... "Sure, darlin. I suppose I can wait." As in never get kissed again... dammit. He stepped forward, reaching out and brushing her hair back.

"But you didn't say I couldn't kiss you." He said, leaning forward and brushing a kiss over her lips before stepping back. "Goodbye, darlin. Come find me when you want to do that... talking." He took the step back into the shadows, retreating far enough that she couldn't see him, although he could still see her.

So she was going to tell Neruo... Hmm...

Ruya
"Bye, " Ruya called out a little sadly. She smiled lopsidedly at the little dragon in her arms.

"I hope you're not as much trouble as he is."

She sighed and turned back to the house, flying up and in the kitchen window.

Okay... so the Ruya gift hadn't worked out the way he wanted to. He could deal with that. But what he COULDN'T deal with was the damn angelic dragon that he had kept.

Silva was sitting on the bed, a dark look on his face as the small dragon in question chewed happily on his short ponytail. He twitched, reaching over his shoulder to save his hair and getting bit as his reward. He looked at his hand, grateful the little s**t hadn't broken the flesh. But that was the only thing he was grateful about.

"C'mon, Io! You have to come out of your room sometime or another!" The sound of his bondmate slamming her fist against the door to the next room made him wince.

Go AWAY! The mindspeak shouted, roaring through Silva's head as well as Ice's. I need some alone time!

"FINE! Then STARVE!" Ice shoted back, making Silva snort.

FINE! I WILL!

"Why in the heck did I say I would take in a teenager? I am SO going to call up the Masquerade Ice and cuss her out. She should know better than to force me to deal with one!" He waited until his bondmate had left to start thinking. Sometimes he swore she could read his mind.

So... He started out thoughtfully... Io was still depressed over her boyfriend running away like a coward...

He winced as the dragon behind him jerked back on the ponytail, then let out a complaint. The damn thing thought it was trying to milk or something... He blinked, then jerked as the tiny dragon let out a flame directed at his back.

"Ahh!! Dammit, DON'T DO THA--" He stopped, things falling into place in his mind, leaving him with an evil grin that would have done the grench proud.
************************

The sound of knocking on the door had Io clenching her teeth as she shoved herself to her feet, heading for the door to do some more yelling. She even had the first words forming in her head as she opened the door.

There was no one there. She blinked, looking down to see if there was a miniature bag of burning dog crap compliments of the little d**k from next door... but there wasn't anything there, either. Almost reluctantly she closed the door, turning to head for her bed again.

"Bad mood?" Silva asked from where he was standing on her bed, almost laughing as her rage built up again. "I'm surprised. You seemed so damn cheerful while you were torturing me with that... thing." He nodded at the cage in the corner, smirking slightly.

What do you want, you little d**k?

"Oooh... language, darlin! What if mother heard?" He asked tauntingly.

THIS Ice is NOT my mother. Now get out of my room before I roll up a newspaper.

"I will. But I have something to give to you first." He replied calmly.

She watched him for a few seconds before her curiosity got the best of her. What?

"Just this." He turned, digging in the blankets and pulling out a complaining white dragon.

She blinked, shocked that what he wanted to give her was actually... cute. Why are you giving this to me? Ice said you had a girlfriend. Why don't you give it to her?

"Are you gonna take the damn thing or not?" He replied irritably. "And hurry it up, would you? I've got better things to do with my time."

... What did it do? She finally asked, smirking knowledgeably.

"It keeps chewing on my hair." He muttered, flushing as she started laughing at him. "It's not funny! I happen to be fond of my haircut. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to leave now." He jumped off the bed, heading for the door with a stubborn set to his jaw. She silently held the door open, watching him leave.

Thank you... She said before closing the door to go play with her new gift.

"You won't be saying that after it burns your fingers a few times." He replied, looking remarkably happy to be free of the demonic little angel.

Backyard Confessions
Neruo
Neruo fluttered slowly out into the backyard, staring ahead mutely. The orange one lit on Kam's wooden fence and watched the setting sun drift beneath the horizon. He watched as the droplets of water on the grass grew cold...and he sighed slightly.

His fingers twisted around one orange curl and tugged.

Ruya
"Alright guys, time to go out."

Ruya's voice drifted out from the partially opened porch door, as a stream of pixapets filtered out onto the porch and then the lawn itself. They were followed by a tiny dragon, Ruya, and a pixie, who stopped to wait by the door.

When Ruya stepped out the door, she noticed someone or something perched on the fence. Shrugging, she flew over to investigate. She really hoped it wasn't a bird. Getting all the pets back inside would be rough.

"Hello?"

Neruo
Neruo's ears perked when he heard her voice. He slowly turned around, a blank expression on his face. He then warmed up and smiled, waving. He extended his orange wings to catch the last bits of sunlight. The light drifted through his feathers and then seemed to glow.

He then stood up and began to walk the length of the fence, towards Ruya. "Hello..." he said quietly.

Silva
Silva stared down at the dead mouse, wrapping his chain slowly as he waited to make sure it wouldn't move. He turned, looking around for something else to kill. He jerked as he caught sight of someone sitting on the fence, it wasn't a bird, the build was wrong, even though the wings were feathered.

"Neruo." He muttered like a curse, torn between getting closer or walking away. In the end he chose to stay where he was, too far to hear, but close enough to see. It was almost masochistic in a way, but he couldn't seem to help himself. Ruya would be walking that damn dog of hers soon...

Ruya
Ah it was Neruo! Ruya felt elated, and then a little bummed. It was nice to see him, but she had things to discuss with him.

Ruya landed on the fence not far from Neruo and waved back.

"Hello Neruo! How are you this evening?"

Neruo
Neruo smiled and slowly kept walking towards her, saying, "I'm alright. I see you're out an about this evening with the herd. Are you alright?" He sounded a bit concerned.

His gray eyes thought they had seen something moving in the distance. Feathers? He decided it was his mind playing tricks on him and dismissed it, turning back to Ruya.

"You seem...depressed?"

Ruya
Ruya stopped and blinked at Neruo. She opened her mouth and then closed it again, before finally speaking.

"I'm a little troubled, but not depressed. More confused. Can I speak with you?"

Ruya sat down on top of one of the fence posts, motioning for Neruo to do the same.

Neruo
Neruo's eyes softened and he sat down beside her, more worried than he had been before. A tinge of guilt tugged at his heart. Was it something he did? He hoped not, but he wasn't sure.

He looked down at the grass and waited patiently for her to begin. He liked to think of himself as someone others could come to to voice their feelings...

Silva
Closer... Silva wanted to get closer. He wanted to hear them talking... to hear her confess to the flower boy that she was sneaking out at night with him. He inched a little closer, but paused as something struck him. He would have to get close enough for THEM to be able to hear HIM if he wanted to hear them. That wasn't a good idea...

So he sat down and waited... and watched.

Ruya
"May I?"

Ruya reached out for one of Neruo's hands and placed it between her own.

"I don't know how else to say this so I'm just going to get it over with. I think you have a crush on me."

She unconciously avoided looking him in the eyes.

"And if I'm right, it really isn't fair for me not to tell you that there is someone else. That there is another boy I spend time with and ... stuff, " she finished lamely.

"I'm sorry?"

She finally looked up at his face, both afraid of and not wanting to miss any reaction he might have.

Neruo
Neruo looked up and slowly nodded. Was he that transparent? He wasn't big on hiding anything, as that just caused problems and was overall way too much work...But maybe it would've been best to hide it? It may have caused Ruya less grief.

"Was it that obvious?" he asked simply. "I read somewhere that women like mystery...but I guess I'm not that mysterious, am I?" He chuckled. What a waste of a Feien he was...

But it's not like he could help it. "You wonder if I'll be upset?" he asked, and withdrew his hand from hers. Not from anger, but to keep his mind focused on what he had to say.

"I would be hurt if you had feelings for me and then you went off and engaged in amoral conduct with someone else, but...I don't know how you feel about me in return. Am I worth it? I suppose I can't give you a real answer unless you answer me this: Do you like me in return, or is my affection one-sided?"

Ruya
Ruya folded her hands together and stared down at them. Why did he have to ask this? It was such a big part of the question she was avoiding answering to herself.

"I don't know, " she mumbled after a couple awkward minutes of silence. "I really like talking to you and I don't want to stop hanging out with you, but I don't think... "

She studied her hands really closely, much more closely than she needed to. Then with a sigh, she finished her sentence all in one breath.

"... I don't think I want anything more than that right now."

There it was said, but was it really what she wanted? Who knew. The awful feeling in the pit of her stomach remained, as if she had done nothing at all to help out the situation.

Neruo
Neruo sighed and smiled. He bent down and took her hand, trying to comfort her in her sadness.

"That's all I wanted to know." he said quietly. "All I wanted was a straight answer...and since there's someone else...someone you like more...then I don't mind you doing whatever you want with him, since you do not have feelings like that for me."

He stood up, pulling at one of his curls until is was so taught that it went straight. "I'm glad you told me."

Silva
Silva sat there, his chain fisted in his hand, the feeling that he was a @%$%^ idiot creeping up his spine. He forced his hand to loosen, his lungs to breathe fresh air. She wasn't that important, dammit. It was the situation that was pissing him off. Right?

He told himself to move... to stop watching, but he didn't... he couldn't. This involved him, after all.

Ruya
Ruya stood as well and reached out to make sure Neruo was looking her in the eye.

"That's not it at all. I'm not sure I do like Silva better. I just know that right now I'm not ready for the kind of relationship I think you and I could have."

She let her hand drop and took a deep breath.

"But I meant what I said. If you can stand to be near me, I want to be friends. I think you're really interesting Neruo."

Neruo
Neruo chuckled. "So that's his name. We met earlier and he never did tell me. He's the burgandy one, white short white hair. Yes...I suppose I can see why you do...those things...with him. He's much more versed in that sort of thing than I am."

He promptly let go of the curl he was practically ripping from his skull. He was so focused on listening to her that he didn't notice the needles of pain shooting through his scalp. He was better now, or so he thought.

"And, why would I suddenly not be able to stand you? I'll be here for you as a friend, no matter what happens. Alright?"

Ruya
"Good. You have no idea how much I worried about that."

Ruya sagged with relief. She had been worried Neruo would suddenly not want to hang out with her anymore and that thought had made saying this so awful.

Wait. What did he just say? Ruya looked up and gave Neruo a puzzled look.

"You met Silva?"

Neruo
Neruo nodded. "Yes, he's the Feien that is the color of wine. Darker skin and white hair, with bat wings...and quite the womanizer, I assume. Does it bother you that we chatted?"

He wasn't entirely sure why she was so concerned about it. The way he figured it, why would it matter if they had met or not? She seemed to be slightly more interested in Silva than he, but he liked her regardless. It was her decision and he would respect it in its entirety.

Ruya
"Yes, it does bother me. I wanted you to find out from me."

And this means that little b*****d took it upon himself to interfere in something that was none of his business, she added mentally.

"And quite the... "

Ruya's eyes narrowed. She no longer felt upset or guilty, she felt angry. Very very angry.

But she smiled anyway for Neruo's sake.

"If you don't mind me asking, what did Silva say to you exactly?"

Neruo
Neruo tilted his head in thought. "Well, he was angry. I could tell. He said he was 'mad as hell' that 'his girl' was hanging out with someone of 'my type'. Or something along those lines. I don't think he thinks I'm the brightest crayon in the box, despite my color..."

He hoped that he didn't leave anything too important out, but he was more focused on her than the previous meeting. Other things would come to him, if they were important.

Silva
Silva blinked, noticing the change in Ruya's stance and feeling something close to worry... Something had changed the emotion of the meeting on him and he was almost positive that whatever it was... was not good.

Not good at all...

Ruya
Ruya couldn't even keep up her false smile for that, but she tried to stay polite. It wasn't Neruo's fault Silva was the way he was.

"Thank you for telling me that Neruo. I had no idea Silva would do such a thing."

She probably should have though. Ruya looked around and noticed most of the pixapets appeared to have gathered back on the porch to go in.

"Its getting late Neruo, I wouldn't want your bond to worry. Perhaps you can come another day and we can spend some time in the backyard? I think there are some wild chives growing in one corner."

Neruo
Neruo smiled and bowed to her, not wanting for her to wait for him any longer. He slowly took to the air and floated just above the fence, turning back to wave at her and Rishi. He then sighed and made his way home.

He had much to tell Lu when he got there.

Ruya
Ruya waited until Neruo was out of sight to dive off the fence and start running across Silva's lawn to his porch.

That pain in the a**, lying, punk. So he thought he could just claim her and chase off her friends? Not to mention basically lying to her.

She picked up a fistfull of tiny pebbles on her way to the porch and once there started pelting the door, hurling the pebbles with everything she had.

"Silva, you b*****d! Get out here!"

The pebbles, not being very big, probably didn't make much of a noise on the inside of the house, but it did start to make Ruya feel better.

Silva
Silva watched her from the shadows, seriously contemplating not letting her see him. It would be easy enough, after all. She didn't have nightvision... But he had the insane urge to get this over with.

She was probably going to dump him sooner or later, anyways, he thought philosophically. He spoke, not willing to reveal himself until she put the stones down. "Now, darlin..."

Ruya
Ruya whirled, stones in hand and started randomly lobbing them in the direction she thought his voice had come from.

"Don't you dare "darlin'" me. Get out here."

Her supply of pebbles wasn't endless, and eventually she had lobbed them all out into the dark. Finding more would have taken energy, and her rage wasn't enough to keep her going too much longer.

Silva
He finished dodging the pebbles and slowly stepped into the lighter area where she could see him, hoping she had run out. "I can explain. Actually... I probably can't. Hell..."

He stopped, looking thoughtful for a second. He wasn't sure how much the other male had told her. He might be able to talk his way out of it... or not. And by the look on her face he was leaning towards the "or not."

"I'm... sorry?" He finally offered in a pathetic attempt to keep from being maimed. If she fought him... something told him he wouldn't fight back. Dammit.

Ruya
Those were probably the two words she least expected out of his treacherous mouth and it stopped her up short. She just blinked at him, wondering what was going on in his head.

"Why, " she said finally, desperately, " Why would you go talk to him like that?"

She sighed, and then added, "And don't try and feed me any crap."

Not like she'd know anyway, a little voice said, Not like she could really tell what he said was truth and what was lie when it came out of his mouth.

Silva
"Why did I go talk to him?" He repeated, thinking for a minute. "Hell, I thought it was obvious. I'm jealous, darlin. I wanted to see for myself the guy that brings you flowers. And... dammit... I hate not being in control." The last was muttered, as if he was irritated with himself over that one.

"Look, I screwed up. But--" I'm not the only one... of course he couldn't say that, not when she was this pissed. "But I had a reason. Now, granted, it's not a very good one, and--" He stopped, searching for a good point.

"And I didn't do anything to the kid. I swear. Didn't even really warn him off. I just wanted to scope out the competition."

Ruya
Damnit. She was still pissed, but she was also oddly flattered. If he was truly jealous, maybe he did care.

But maybe that was bad? She still hadn't sorted exactly how she felt about him.

Arrgh. It was too late to think about this. She needed to go home and go to sleep and worry about this some other day.

"Whatever. You should have told me you'd seen him when I said I was going to talk to him. You lied to me. By omission sure, but you still lied."

Ruya sighed crossed her arms over her chest and looked at her feet. This was the second time tonight she had to study something other than the person she was talking to.

"I already didn't know exactly how I felt about you Silva, and this only makes it worse."

Silva
He nodded, watching her for a few seconds. "You're not the only one, darlin. Now go... Before I do something stupid and offer to walk you home." He paused, examining his toothpick. "And it was omission, darlin... but hell, you weren't the only one mad."

He took a step back, fading into the shadows feeling something sitting on his gut... something that felt suspiciously like guilt.

Ruya
Ruya blinked back the stupid tears she felt hiding behind her eyes. Why was she crying? This was so stupid.

"Night."

Ruya slowly headed back to her porch where the gang was all waiting for her. At least for once she wasn't worried she'd stay up and worry, she was going to pass out the minute she hit the pillow.

He had lost his girl. She hadn't said it like that, but it was as good as done. He sat on the windowsill, staring out at the backyard as he thought. It didn't matter... she would be easy enough to replace with a little bit of work.

He didn't move.

Now that she was gone he could focus on some things that could be considered more important. He had never found out the name of the juvenile that Sunil had wanted him to meet. He had never tracked down his summoner to repay the debt he owed, and his revenge on Io? Was weak... really weak. He had wanted her to suffer, but ever since he had given her that damn dragon she had been stowed in her bedroom, making replica towns out of popsicile sticks for the damn thing to wreak havoc on.

It was a morbid way to pass the time, but she seemed happy. He snorted, chewing on his toothpick as he thought. Ice was... well... Ice. There wasn't much you could do to piss her off, and when she DID get pissed off she got sarcastic. Problem with that was that Silva found her hysterical when that happened. You couldn't pull off a decent fight when you're trying not to laugh, after all.

Besides, she hadn't bothered him about the situation, even though he was sure she knew something was wrong. She had just built him a new set of weights using two ball bearings and a cut off dow rod. He now had his own barbell. He didn't know why she was so supportive of his physical training, but he didn't really care. It gave him a way to work off some of his bad mood.

Neruo... Yeah. That was part of his bad mood. Now normally he wouldn't have given a flying rat's a** about the other male... He didn't much care about males in general, finding the few he had met to be many... and annoying. But Neruo was different, he thought, shoving himself to his feet and heading for his barbell.

He braced himself, grabbing the dow rod with both hands and pulling it up in a curl. It required percision, too much strength would have him falling backwards, too little would have him falling forwards. Neither would have been good, but forwards wouldn't have left him pinned to the ground. He had learned that one first hand.

But back to Neruo. Yeah, he was annoying, he thought, grunting and switching his grip on the bar. And as far as Silva could care, he was one too many of the feien male population.

But that brought up ANOTHER question that had been bothering him. With so many juvie males you would think he would have ran into some adult males... Maybe there WAS something to this female feien idea... He scowled, not liking the way his mind was going, but unable to stop it.

Maybe they bred more males then females so the females would have more choice in who they... well... He scowled, not wanting to think of it. Abundant prey made for healthy kids. An amazon society where he... a hunter in his own right... would be hunted down with snogs and sweet words, then...

He stopped, then started laughing, the barbell dropping from his grasp and barely missing his foot. RUYA? An amazon?! Yeah, RIGHT. And he was the King of the Fairies. He snorted. Besides, he hadn't gotten his damn sweet words yet. And he wouldn't let himself be eaten without them. Or with them for that matter, but at least the decree sounded good...

But hell, she had dumped him. Looks like he would reach adulthood, after all.

"Well whoop-de-@%$#^-doo."

Around high noon Ruya slipped out the kitchen window and onto the porch with a small bundle in her arms. She had been watching out the window for a while now and she hadn't seen him. Now seemed as good a time as any to try and drop off her gift.

She took off from the porch and zoomed towards his. Across her lawn, up over the fence, and on to his lawn. Really she hoped he wasn't around. The gift had taken quite a bit of work, and she didn't want to know if that ungrateful b*****d decided he didn't like it for some reason. After all, she was just being polite. He'd given her a gift, she'd give him one. It made them even.

As she got to his porch she looked around and laid down the gift with a little note. Then she took off back for her house, her mission a success.

Inside the bundle was a feien sized dart set. The board looked handpainted on a small wooden disk, and the darts were made from sewing pins with beads glued on for grips.

The note with the gift was short and to the point.

Ruya
Silva -
You gave me a gift, and while he did char Neruo's flowers and one of the cat's tails, he has been a pleasure to have. In return I made you this. It took a while to figure out something you might like. I almost went with a poisonous frog, but decided that was below me. Instead I decided on a dart set. If you don't know the rules, go look them up.

~ Ruya

He didn't notice it until the sun was starting to set. He scowled, reading the note once... twice... a debt repaid. Dammit. Those weren't the words he wanted to hear... After a while he smirked, picking up the gift and heading back into the house. At least the dragon had gotten ONE thing right. And besides, the gift looked interesting. At least this one wouldn't try to bite him.

Interesting Information
Silva
Silva stared up at the tavern sign, chewing on his toothpick a little as he contemplated going in. The debt was paid when she gave him a gift... in his mind that meant Ruya was finished with this so-called relationship. Besides, she had tried to stone him just the night before.

So with a mental shrug he walked through the door, heading for the feien area of the bar and making himself comfortable at his usual table. It was just a matter of time...

Sajhiri/Averno
Sajhiri smiled as Silva entered, and she poured him a cherry phosphate in a Feien-sized mug. "Well hello again! I don't believe I've caught your name yet, but I think I met you earlier when Ice brought you in here as a bloom?"

Averno looked over from her spot on the beer tap and arched a brow at seeing Silva entering. She mustered her most saddened expression and looked away.

Silva
"She did, did she? What'd she tell you about me back then?" He asked, looking around. He wouldn't tell her his name, either. He paused at the sight of Averno's sad look, smirking slightly. New approach, huh? Not bad.

"What's the problem, princess? Get turned down too many times?"

Sajhiri/Averno
Sajhiri chuckled, "Oh she was quite excited about having a Feien bloom, quite proud of you." She moved to organize the chairs at the tables.

Averno shots a scathing glance at Silva. "Not unless you consider being violently assaulted as being 'turned down'." She looked away from Silva again and over at Sajhiri's bustling absently.

Finally her bond finished her fussing. "Averno we have to head back to the tower for a while. We can come back later, maybe..." Sajhiri held a hand out for the little Feien and Averno climbed into it forlornly. The human woman waved merrily to the nameless Feien boy and carried her charge out.

Silva
Violently assaulted, huh? He nodded his farewell, not really paying attention. If someone was willing to violently assault the princess... that would be Sunil's type of feien. He scowled, heading for the door as he thought. "I'm going to have to hit the princess up for more information sometime..." He muttered to himself as he left.

Nightmares
"He's here! He's here! Uncle Silva!! Wha'd you bring us?" Silva walked into the room carrying another small dragon under his arm. He was grown, a slight smirk on his face as the groping hands of little girls tried to grab the dragon from him.

"Hello, Silva." The voice made him look up, his smirk suffering slightly at the sight of Ruya. "How have you been lately?"

"Fine." He grunted, turning back to the girls and letting the dragon down. He crouched down beside them as they cooed over the creature, not sure why he was surprised that the dragon appearently loved them.

"I'm ho-ome!" The voice made him grit his teeth as Neruo entered the room, carrying a bouquet of flowers. The other man walked up to Ruya, brushing an almost emotionless kiss over her cheek and handing her the flowers. "To replace the ones Bozi burnt." Neruo said patiently.

"Thank you, dear." Ruya replied, taking the flowers with a smile. Silva felt his teeth grit. The small hands tugging on his wing didn't even register at first.

"Uncle Silva! Thank you for the dragon!" The little one said once she had his attention. She reached up, wrapping her arms around his waist and hugging him. She looked just like Ruya had at that age.

"Um... Honey, don't bother your uncle. I'm sure he has a girlfriend to get back to." Ruya said, sounding amused. Her hand reached down, touching Neruo's. Silva scowled.

"Yeah... right." He muttered, ruffling the girl's hair before turning and leaving. He was living... in hell.

Silva jerked awake, feeling slightly sick to his stomach. He stood, stretching and looking around, slightly shocked to see Ice still asleep. It had to be early in the morning... too early. He scowled, dropping down from his bed and heading for the window.

For a few minutes he stood there, absently listening to the sounds of the day waking up. But it wasn't good. Standing there meant he was looking at the house adjunct to his... and that wasn't part of his plans.

He could go to the bar, he thought, not really feeling like it. Or he could go check out those posters that Ruya had told him about... the ones in the shop. He scowled, already knowing there was something wrong if he would WILLINGLY go into that place... But to follow that thought process was more then he could handle so early in the morning.

He needed time to think... or avoid thinking, so he flew all the way to the shop. When he was flying he was focusing on his flying... not on other things. That's what kept him going even as he dropped on the windowsill of the shop, heading inside.

He looked around, once again studying the place until his eyes fell on the posters. He headed over, dropping down in front of them, the "Feien Sex" sign catching his eye first. There was a slight smirk on his face as he took mental notes, only to blink as he realized something was missing. There wasn't anything written about females eating the males. But hell... they wouldn't want people to know that. They might be less inclined to breed if they knew.

That... or it wasn't true.

He shrugged, turning and looking at the elemental powers signs. "Huh... no... no... not quite... Shadow." He stopped, nodding as he recognized some of his abilities. He had been able to blend with the shadows before he could see in the dark. That seemed close enough to him. He spent a few more minutes reading the sign over before going on.

"Feien breeding..." He read for a few seconds, taking not of the "Love or Friendship" comment and leaving it at that. "Lust" wasn't on the list, and besides, he wasn't that fond of brats, even if technically he WAS one.

Then he came to the one that caught his attention. "Questing."

Questing involves first speaking to Julius... Silva jerked at the words, stunned for a few seconds before a slow smile of triumph crossed his face. He would speak to his summoner if he quested... He read on, shrugging at the task part. He was tough. He would take on any task necessary. The only problem was... he wasn't sure he had enough of those... point things to get to try.

He went on to read the gemstone part, liking the sound of the changes until he got to the line about not breeding... ever. So he didn't like brats right now and his girl had tried to stone him a few nights ago... but that sounded remarkably like being neutered to him. Besides, that dream was haunting the back of his mind... He shrugged, stepping back as all that he had learned started to sink in.

Maybe... maybe he should hunt Ruya down sometime. He stopped, his pride offended by the very thought. Or maybe he should focus on more important things, like the fact that he might be on to something with the "Violent assaulter" that the princess had mentioned. Or that he had finally learned how to meet the feien that had summoned him.

Or that he had learned all sorts of new tricks for snogging... He snorted and headed for the window again, slipping back into the morning shade and heading home.

Two too many (** Compiled from the Tavern in the Guild **)
Sajhiri/Averno
Jhiri pushed open the door of the tavern and put out the "Open" sign once again. She shuffled some papers in her hands and glanced over them absently as she slipped behind the bar.

On her shoulder, Averno peered at the papers as if looking for anything of interest or use in them. Seeing nothing she cared about she leapt into the air and flitted over to the Feien-sized portion of the tavern and settled into a chair at one of the tables.

Jhiri put on her usual pot of coffee and settled on a stool behind the bar to balance her finances. Fuuuun!

Ruya
Ruya slipped in the door to the tavern and purposefully made her way up to the bar. She spared a glance for the other feien present, but made no move in her direction.

Instead, she made her way over to the human sitting behind the bar.

"Excuse me? Are you the owner of this establishment?"

Sajhiri/Averno

Jhiri smiled merrily at the Feien and nodded her head. "I am indeed. Can I get you something to drink or eat, miss?"

Averno's eyes flashed doorward at the glimpse of motion, her body stiffening in anticipation of an unpleasant visitor, but relaxing again to see it was not Calico. She got up and winged her way to the human-sized bar, alighting not far from the new arrival to study her.

Ruya
Ruya smiled up at the human and replied happily, "Oh, well yes something to drink would be lovely. May I have some lemonade?"

Then she laughed a little at herself.

"That isn't the primary reason I'm here though. I would like to apply for a job. A waitress I think, if there is an opening."

Sajhiri/Averno
Sajhiri looked elated as she eyedroppered some lemonade into a tiny mug for the Feien. "Wonderful! I just so happen to be in need of a waitress. Can I get your name to add to my records?" She carefully handed the mug to Ruya.

Averno wrinkled her nose for a moment at the very thought of manual labor, but she composed herself again quickly and gave a smile to the multi-colored female. "Hello...I don't believe we've met yet. I'm Averno."

Ruya
Ruya took the mug with care and sipped a bit of the lemonade before replying. It had been a long flight there and she was a little parched.

"Excellent. My name is Ruya."

Ruya then turned to face Averno. She studied the girl for a second, while drinking a little more of her lemonade.

"Hello. I'm Ruya, as you undoubtable already heard. It's nice to meet you Averno. Are you bonded to the owner? Do you work here too?"

Sajhiri/Averno
Averno quelled the brow that threatened to arch, her past few experiences tempering her outward shows of arrogance a bit. She smiled instead. "Ruya...that's a lovely name. I am bonded to Sajhiri, yes, though I don't work here, really. I suppose I could, but I want to get a bit more settled into this life before I do something like that. You're only the 4th Feien I've even met so far."

Sajhiri jotted down Ruya's name with a grin on her roster. "Great! It's always good to have some more folks delivering drinks and such. Especially Feien-sized ones. It's difficult for me to even get a hold of some of the mugs."

Ruya
"Ah, so you must be new, " she guestured over to the feien sized area of the bar, "Mind if we sit? I'd love to chat, but I'm a little tired from flying over here."

Sajhiri/Averno
Averno smiled her best approximation of a warm smile. Perhaps this being friendly thing had merit afterall. "Of course." She flitted over to one of the Feien-sized tables and settled into a chair.

Sajhiri brought over another mug and a tiny pitcher of lemonade for the two to share before she headed back to her paperwork.

"So, how long have you been out of your bloom, Ruya?" the dark haired Feien queried.

Ruya
Ruya followed after Averno and settled herself at the same table as the other feien. She thanked Sajhiri with a smile and a nod as the human brought over a pitcher and another mug.

"I'm not sure, " Ruya thought for a moment, " several months, I believe. It doesn't seem like that long, " she laughed softly, "time flies I guess."

She drank a little more of her lemonade, finishing off the mug.

"You haven't been out long you said, but do you have any hobbies?"

Ruya smiled and poured herself a little more lemonade. This was nice, she didn't really know any other girls. She hoped they had something in common.

Averno
Averno blinked a few times in mild confusion. "Hobbies? Hm...no, not at the moment other than a burning curiosity to know more about this place and about the other Feien who are here." She poured herself a mug of the lemonade and sipped from it, narrowing her eyes in thought.

"I've only been out for a few days, so I'm not really entirely sure what there is to do around here for a hobby. What do you like to do?"

Ruya
Ruya thought for a moment before replying. She probably hadn't had any hobbies either when she was new.

"Well, I like to paint. I picked that up from my friend Tosten. He is very nice, if you haven't you should meet him, " she paused briefly, "I also like to read, lots of different things, " Ruya waved her hand absently, not wanting to bore Averno with the specifics of her literary tastes, "and I have a whole herd of pets I take care of."

Ruya stopped, that was quite a bit about herself and it seemed rude to go on, even if she did enjoy sharing her interests with others.

"You said you'd met four feien? I'm curious to know who. I don't really know all that many feien myself."

Averno
Averno brightens at the mention of painting. "You paint? Would you perhaps be interested in painting my portrait? My bond is an artist, but she's always too busy to paint me."

As to the question she murmurs, "Well you were one, and the tavern bouncer, Sunil, who seemed relatively nice, then there was some arrogant jerk who is bonded to someone Sajhiri calls 'Ice' and some violent b*****d who assaulted me because I sniped back at him when he rudely insulted me."

Silva
Silva looked up at the tavern for a second, just out of habit before walking in. "Hey! Princess, I need to--" He stopped, his expression going blank as he got close enough to see who Averno was talking to. He levitated up to the feien area, dropping down and smirking slightly.

"Well, well... ain't this a pretty picture. Long time no see, Darlin."

Ruya
Ruya glanced at Silva, and chose to ignore him for a minute in favor of answering Averno's question.

"I'm not very good, but I'd be happy to try."

Then trying to look totally unconcerned, she turned and looked at Silva.

"Indeed. I assume you've been well?"

She tried to go for a cold tone, but really only succeeded in being neutral. It was sorta nice to see him.

Averno
Averno flitted her eyes towards Silva narrowly. She had to admit, being called a Princess wasn't all that bad. She'd still prefer Empress but it would do for now. "You need to what, Red?" If he refused to give her a name she'd give him one.

She looked between Silva and Ruya at the recognition that they seemed to know one another and her brow creeped up slightly. "Would you two rather be alone?" She took a sip of her lemonade.

Ruya
Ruya turned back to Averno and drank some more of her lemonade after glaring at it for a second.

"No. I have nothing to say to him that can't be said in public. Besides, it sounds like he came here to speak with you anyway."

That earned the lemonade another glare. He called her Princess? Ruya was not pleased and the fact she even cared made her less pleased.

Silva
Now this... was tricky. He smirked, looking back at Averno. "She doesn't like me at the moment, princess. I'm sure you know how that is." He looked around, grabbing one of the chairs and straddling it so he could keep an eye on both of them.

"I was hoping you might tell me more about your... what did you call him? Violent assaulter. Was it a tall blue female with a bad attitude?" If it was Sunil then he was back to where he had started from...

Averno
Averno nodded to Ruya, then arched a brow at Silva. "Not even remotely. It was that red and yellow lunatic who was in here the day we met. It happened just after you left actually."

She leaned back in her chair, tasting the tension between the other two Feien fairies as if it were a fine vintage of wine.

Ruya
Ruya took a deep breath and finished off her lemonade, half listening in on the other feiens' conversation. Then she glanced up at Averno with a shocked expression as something processed.

"You were attacked? In the tavern? That sounds awful!"

What sort of feien, other than Sunil, who had already been eliminated from the running, would attack Averno? The girl seemed sweet.

And then Ruya frowned, could this whole thing have something to do with Sunil sending her out into the woods that night?

"You said you met Sunil. Did you happen to speak with her about your attacker?"

Ruya felt bad highjacking the conversation, but her curiosity was piqued.

Silva
Silva relaxed, letting Ruya take over the conversation as he thought back. Red and yellow... violent... Yeah, he kinda remembered seeing another male that day. Hadn't actually talk to him much, other then offering the princess over...

But that's the guy she had said assaulted her. He smirked slightly, noting the concern in Ruya's voice. He hadn't even bothered trying to sound as if he cared. But Ruya... Ruya would get the entire story for him and he wouldn't have to do a thing. He blinked, realizing that he had been watching her for the past few minutes, then turned away as if it hadn't happened.

"You happen to catch his name?"

Averno
Averno shook her head sadly. "Sunil said she had no idea who he was, and I never got his name. He told me I was useless because I didn't know anything about any other Feien, so I replied that if I was useless, being as I was the first few hours out of my bloom, what was his excuse if he had to consult a newly emerged Feien on other Feien. That was when he grabbed me by the hair and threatened me. So I dumped my hot tea in his lap and got away."

Ruya
Ruya leaned forward to put her hand on Averno's shoulder briefly.

"That sounds awful, but at least you're ok."

Sunil didn't know him? Huh, it seemed hard to believe there were lots of dangerous feien running around. Perhaps Sunil had been lying. No real way to tell now.

Silva
"Yeah." Silva muttered, chewing on his toothpick. He didn't sound very convincing. "Try and get his name next time, princess. In case... he decides to attack again, that is. I'm sure there'll be people willing to give you a hand."

Non-commital. But it sounded good. He turned, looking at Ruya again, unable to help himself, then away. "Think I could get a drink?" He called over to Jhiri.

Averno
Averno scoffed quietly. "Who would be willing to protect me from him? He's a homicidal psychopath. And I really haven't met many other Feien to inspire them to come to my aid. I'm afraid to even stray to far from Sajhiri..." she glanced towards her bond.

Sajhiri looked over at Silva and chuckled. "Surely, Mr. No Name. I'll have to ask Ice what your name is." She brought over an already poured cherry phosphate for the male and set it on Averno and Ruya's table.

Sajhiri stooped down to gently scoop Averno up in her hand. "Time to go dear. You can talk to your friends again tomorrow I'm sure." With that the pair departed.

Ruya
Ruya frowned as she was left alone with Silva.

"So, you and Averno are friends?"

She pushed her now empty mug to the center of the table, wishing she had thought to ask where dirty dishes went.

Silva
Friends? With the princess? He blinked, then smirked slightly. "I guess you could say that, darlin. She comes in handy." He took a drink, watching her through lowered lashes. "But I doubt she'd be willing to hunt fireflies with me."

Ruya
Ruya turned and met Silva's eyes, blushing a little before she turned away and carefully began rearranging the cups on the table.

"I doubt it, too, " she lowered her voice a little, "She called you an 'arrogant jerk'."

She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, wondering what he was thinking.

"You come in here a lot? They seemed to know what you like to drink."

Silva
"Often?" He repeated, thinking about it. "Not really... often, so to say. But this place is quiet. You don't have to talk to anybody you don't want to. It suits me."

He leaned forward, watching her. "You still mad at me, Darlin? Because I've been getting... lonely."

Ruya
Ruya stopped shuffling the stuff on the table around uselessly and sighed. She turned to face Silva and put her hands in her lap.

"I'm not really mad anymore. You got my gift didn't you? But I still think what you did was wrong and no amount of time is going to change my mind."

She smiled in spite of herself.

"I don't think you're lonely. I think you just miss having someone to kiss."

Silva
"I--" He stopped, biting down on his toothpick before forcing his muscles to relax. "I'm not going to argue with you, darlin. Not about something that's already happened. And we'll get into the kissing or not kissing subject later. When we're not in a public place. But I will say one thing, darlin. If I just wanted someone to kiss I think I would have found them by now."

He stood, looking at her for a few minutes before turning. "And you're going to haveta show me how to play that game, darlin. Before Io lets that damn dragon of hers light it like a matchstick."

Ruya
Ruya stood as well, but stayed facing the table.

"I'd be happy to show you how to play anytime, but you could have looked up the rules on your own."

Silva
He wanted to yell at her. He REALLY wanted to yell at her. All this making it out to be his fault was starting to piss him off. SHE had cheated on HIM, not the other way around. So what if she hadn't actually kissed the other guy?

So what if he had hunted the other guy down? What would she have said if he had done what he wanted to do and beat the living s**t out of him while he was at it? He scowled, grateful he wasn't facing her.

"I could have, darlin... but you aren't getting out of this that easily." He said easily. "Now I think I'll... take my leave." He headed for the edge, dropping off and walking to the door before turning. "Goodbye, darlin."

Ruya
"Fine, I made a mistake, " Ruya mumbled, probably too quiet for Silva to hear as he left. Then she turned and headed for the door herself.

Ruya
Home from the tavern, Ruya paced around her bedroom for a couple minutes, wondering why she was in such a bad mood, before finally kicking the book she'd been reading in disgust. This had two effects. One, it was a hardcover book and her foot hurt, and two, she realized she was worrying about something. Or someone.

She turned to look out the bedroom window onto the backyard and with a sigh decided to just go down there. He probably wasn't even around.

So she made her way through the house, and out onto the backyard where she perched conspicuously on a fence post.

Silva
He had been home for a while, long enough for the shadows to get to the point he could go outside and kill something. Was he still mad? Yeah. But he was getting better. "Note to self, don't deal with the Princess and Darlin at the same time." He shrugged the thought off, trying to force himself to concentrate. He never even looked up from where he was scanning as he spoke.

"What do you want now, darlin?"

Ruya
Ruya stared down at her feet and replied softly.

"I made a mistake in leading on Neruo and not telling you about him the right way."

Silva
He nodded, finally looking up. "That's true, darlin. You did." He sighed, relaxing for the first time in a while. "And I probably screwed up a few times myself." He muttered, watching her. After a few seconds he levitated up, sitting down next to her. "So... what've you been up to since then, darlin?"

Ruya
Ruya laughed a little and looked at him.

"Not much. I've been reading a lot. Poetry, " she made a face, "Kam seems to think I should like it, but I don't really."

She blushed and looked away.

"I thought about you. Wondered what you were up to. Worried about how odd living next to eachother would be with us not speaking."

Silva
"Poetry, huh? Ice writes that crap. It's not my kind of thing." He smirked, relaxing and kicking a leg slightly. "Miss me, huh? Want to snog as a welcome back gift?" He didn't expect her to say yes, but asking it amused him.

Ruya
Ruya narrowed her eyes at him.

" I knew it! I knew that was all you wanted."

Then she smiled and leaned over to give him a quick peck on the cheek.

"There."

She gave him a sidelong glance, "So what have you been up to?"

Silva
"Finding things out." He replied, smirking slightly at the kiss on the cheek. "That's pretty much the reason I was at the tavern, darlin. But that's not important right now. Wanna play tag? Winner gets a kiss." He dropped down from the fence, smirking up at her for a second. "Or is that too much of a kiddy game for you?"

Ruya
Ruya grinned a little mischeviously.

"How about winner also gets to pick where on their body they want the kiss?"

She stood up and brushed herself off, remembering her observation that Silva was probably trouble. Just a little exercise, she told herself. Doesn't mean anything.

Silva
"Sounds good to me, darlin." Silva replied, grinning wickedly. "Not it!" He took a step back, fading into the shadows and running. He liked feeling hunted in this case. "Bet you can't catch me, darlin." He called out, smirking widely.

He didn't want to be TOO hard to find, though, so he ran through a light spot.

Ruya
Uh oh! He was way better in the dark than she was. She probably should have suggested some sort of handicap.

"Oh I'll find you."

She looked down from her perch and spotted a blur of motion through a light spot. Grinning, Ruya leaped off the fence and sped off in that direction.

Silva
He grinned, looking back to see her heading for the light spot. She was faster then he was, so he kicked up his speed another notch, heading for another light spot.

"Keep coming, Darlin." He called out, still running. "I'm sure you can catch me if you try hard enough." The thing was, whether he won or she won he would be happy. But he loved the hunt. It was one of the things that made life worth living.

Ruya
Ruya kept following his voice, as long as he kept talking she'd eventually be able to find him. At least in theory.

"You're gonna give yourself away, talking so much," she grinned, "sounds like you want me to find you."

Silva
"I'm just making it entertaining, darlin." He called out, then headed away from the spot where he had just called from. He smirked, deciding to go silent and head in her direction. Behind her, of course, but slowly, giving her time to get confused.

Ruya
Ruya headed for the spot she'd just heard him from, and landed there. She didn't see any movement in any of the other light spots in the area.

Damn, he must have decided to go silent. She shouldn't have given away her only advantage.

"Nothing more to say?"

She started off in a random direction on foot, hoping he would speak again.

Silva
"Just this." He said, appearing in front of her and kissing her quickly before disappearing again. "And you're going to have to do better than that, darlin."

He was grinning, running through light and dark areas equally just to keep her trying.

Ruya
Ruya stood there blinking for a second.

"But I'm not good in the dark," she said, pretending to pout.

Then she lifted herself back up into the air so she could spy down on him. She followed him above, trying to figure out the best way to catch him. He was in and out of light areas too quick for her to dive and catch him. She'd have to be smart about this and predict where he would go next.

She watched him for a bit and then picked a light spot that seemed likely and dove into it.

Silva
He grunted, hitting the light spot at the same time she did and getting tackled by her. He found himself lying on his back, looking up at her with a little smirk. "Looks like I owe you a kiss, darlin."

The moonlight shined on her hair and pale body, almost casting a glow and sending a rush of excitement through him that he was almost too young to understand. All he knew was that he wanted to kiss her. More now then he had had back on the porch eating cherries.

"Where do you want it?" He asked hoarsely, his toothpick falling from his lips.

Ruya
Ruya shivered a little at the tone of Silva's voice. She couldn't put her finger on it, but something there made her feel all fluttery inside.

She ran a hand up to his head, and gently played with the base of his ear while she replied.

"I guess that depends. Does the game end here or are we going to continue after this?"

Silva
His breathing got shallow and he leaned into her hand. "I get to be it next, Darlin. So yeah, the game goes on." He wanted to touch her, but she was the one in control. "So tell me, darlin. Where do you want to be kissed?"

Ruya
Ruya grinned and turned bright red.

"Let's start slow. I'll take a kiss on the lips."

She leaned in and nibbled on his lower lip a bit before moving in for a slow deep kiss.

Silva
She learned quickly, he thought, groaning and pulling her closer. Maybe they were playing with things they didn't understand... maybe this was a game... maybe it wasn't. But he wasn't thinking about that at the moment, shoving his hands into her hair and pulling her closer. After a few minutes he pulled away, forcing himself not to pant.

"My turn, darlin." He told her, a gleam of anticipation entering his eyes as he let her go. "Run."

Ruya
"No way," Ruya shook her head. "You can see in the dark. You need a handicap of some sort or it won't be any fun."

She looked around.

"We should give you a blindfold of some sort. Then we'll be even."

Silva
He frowned, then shrugged. "Fine, darlin. I'll just not use my nightvision. It's easy enough to turn off." He focused for a second and the green light disappeared, leaving him as night blind as she was... almost.

"Now are we going to play, or not?" He asked, focusing on her since she was still standing in the light.

Ruya
Ruya just laughed and launched herself into the air, speeding for a nearby tree. She knew she could get there before him, and if he really turned off his nightvision it would be tough to find her among all the shadows cast by the leaves.

She zoomed into the tree and skipped around from branch to branch until she was near the top. Then she sat down and listened, to see if she could hear him coming.

Silva
He chased after her, running on foot until he ran into a stick on the ground. He cursed, shoving himself back to his feet and stalking towards the tree. If she had gone to air she would be heading for someplace high.

He stopped, his ears twitching slightly as he listened for any sign of her. He got it when he heard birds take flight. Probably from surprise at their territory being invaded.

He smirked, taking slowly to the air.

Ruya
Ruya couldn't help but giggle up on her perch. He'd never find her up here. And even if he did, she would hear him coming, moving through the leaves.

"Having trouble finding me?," she taunted, as she moved a little higher up the tree.

Silva
That was what he wanted. He smirked, heading for the top of the tree and dropping down on one of the branches. It wasn't as dark here as it was on the ground. He smirked, blending in with the shadows so he could look for her without her noticing.

He might have promised not to use nightvision, but nobody had said anything about blending with the shadows.

Ruya
One of the branches above her shook a little, most likely from the weight of a landing feien. Try as she might she couldn't get her eye on him, though.

To be safe she jumped down a branch and ran to put her back to the trunk of the tree.

Silva
Now... where could she be... He stopped, smirking as an idea hit him. She would be easier to find... if she was making noise. "I'm trying to decide where I want that kiss, darlin..." He called out softly, making sure it was harder to pinpoint.

"I'm tempted to make you kiss my feet." He called again, waiting to see if that pissed her off enough to yell at him.

Ruya
His feet? Ugh.

"That doesn't sound very sanitary," she blurted out without thinking.

Oops. That totally gave away her position. Unfortunately, without knowing where he was she wasn't sure which way to run.

Silva
Found her! He dropped down a few branches, racing towards where her voice had come from, a wicked grin on his lips. He stopped, blinking as he looked around. Now... where exactly was she...

"All right darlin, not the feet. How about the knees?"

Ruya
Ruya grinned, she was not going to fall for the same trick twice. She could feel that he had landed on her branch, so she tried to edge her way around the trunk to the next branch.

"Damnit!"

The next branch apparently had a sibling which was at about head height. She rubbed her smarting ear, and waited for Silva to find her.

Silva
He was behind her before she finished the word, reaching up and helping her rub her injured ear. He leaned forward, brushing his lips against the side of her neck. "Found you darlin."

Ruya
Ruya turned around so she was facing him and leaned into him, liking the feel of his skin against hers.

"The tree cheated, but very well," she sighed. "Where do you want it?"

Silva
"I..." He said, feeling that excited feeling again. He pulled her closer, his hand rubbing her back. "I think I'm going to take a raincheck on that kiss, darlin. For my next dry spell." He pulled her down, sitting on the branch and positioning her so she sat straddling the branch, her back to his chest.

"Tonight I want you to tell me what you dream about, darlin."

Ruya
Ruya was totally thrown off balance, having not expected anything like this. But it felt nice to be near him. She closed her eyes and considered what he had asked.

"What I dream about? You mean literally what I dream about at night? Or what I want for the future?"

Silva
He was so stuck on thinking about his own dream that it took a while for him to realize that she had asked a question. "Either, darlin. Just talk to me." He wanted her to keep his mind off of his dream from the other night... and the uneasy feeling that if he kissed her he might go too far and end up being eaten before his prime.

He reached up, playing with her hair and waiting for her to reply.

Ruya
Ruya smiled and sighed. Just talk? This seemed dangerous. In a way more dangerous than the game they had just been playing.

"Alright, well I had a dream the other night where I was a spider and someone was chasing me with a broom trying to squish me. I woke up before they got me."

She reached around behind her and caught one of his hands, pulling it into her lap so she could play with it. She turned it over, looking at his palm, and ran a finger up the center.

"I dreamed I was an actress once, but the man playing the lead role kept forgetting his lines. What do you dream about Silva?"

Silva
Spider? He almost laughed, watching her play with his hand for a second before he replied. "Usually I don't, darlin. Although sometimes I pick up on a dream if Io's projecting in her sleep. She has nightmares about giant tiger like things trying to eat her."

He debated on telling her... wondering what she would say if she knew, wanting to know... but at the same time hating himself for caring. Finally he spoke. "I did have one dream... but it wasn't a very good one."

Ruya
Ruya lifted his hand up and kissed the palm softly.

"What was it about, this not very good dream of yours?"

Silva
"Well..." He stopped, not sure how to say it. He would probably wind up looking like a jealous idiot again, get kicked out of the tree, and not get snogged for a very long time. "You can't control your dreams, darlin. No matter how much you try something's going to happen that you would never admit to in real life."

He paused, pulling her a little closer. "I dreamed that a very... close friend... of mine was happily mated to a nice guy. They had kids and everything. So I guess it wasn't that bad a dream, after all." He almost sighed. He was a liar. He was a jerk and a liar, he thought, almost feeling the urge to laugh.

And it might not have been such a bad dream... but damned if he would let it happen. Even if it was selfish on his part.

Ruya
Ruya pulled away and turned, so she was straddling the tree facing him.

"How many 'close friends' do you have Silva? I'm going to guess one," she said looking to the side, "because if I find out you have more, after what you did to me with Neruo, I'm going to strangle you."

She looked up at him, and scooted closer, sitting on her knees.

"Do you really think it would be that bad to be mated to me and have kids," she said, totally misunderstanding what made the dream bad. "I mean, it is way too early to know, but as possibilities go..."

She trailed off and looked at her hands.

Silva
He blinked. He had said "Nice" guy, then shrugged, tucking a strand of her hair over her ear. "It's not that, darlin, I--" He stopped, deciding to play this to his advantage. "I was just bothered by it because, because... you deserve better than a punk like me, darlin."

He leaned forward, kissing her gently. "But who am I to complain?"

Ruya
Ruya sat back on her heels and studied Silva for a minute.

"But thats why I like you better than Neruo, because you are kind of a punk."

She shrugged.

"You're exciting, and you make me feel... I don't know. Nevermind, " she finished quickly, shaking her head.

She had already decided this was a bad idea. Silva was a bad idea. He even confirmed it himself.

Silva
"You make me excited, darlin. Like doing things you'd never find me doing with anyone else. You think I'm the type to play tag?" He groaned, sensing her withdrawl. "But you're right, darlin. We've got time."

He leaned back, breaking off a new toothpick and watching her. "You should probably go home, darlin. It's getting dark, your bond might get worried." He reached out, brushing her ear again. "Come back tomorrow? We can play hide and seek."

Ruya
Ruya stood and smiled half-heartedly.

"Sure. If I get a chance, I'll come stop by."

She turned and walked out towards the end of the branch.

"Night Silva."

Silva
He sat there long after she had gone, wondering what in the hell he was getting himself into. After a while he shrugged, shoving himself to his feet and heading for his own house. He would ride this out... it was too damn exciting to do anything else.

And he was starting to become addicted to the taste of strawberries.

Now... I'll be the first to admit that my feien isn't the... nicest of fellows. He doesn't cling, doesn't try to make people happy, if anything he tries to piss them off for his own amusement. I know, he's done it to me often enough.

But he's been acting strangely lately. No, it's not going out at odd hours, he always did that. I'm not even sure he sleeps at night. But he's been quiet... and Io said he even gave her a gift. It cheered her up a lot, although the char marks in her room are a little disconcerting.

But why would he give Io a gift? Why would he be... I don't want to say nicer, but less bitchy? I'm starting to worry. He's only happy when he's bitching! Or that's how it's seemed for the past half month or so.

I've been busy lately, the Masquerade Ice and I have been trying to deal with the coming of the new masques. Galilee changed a week ago or so, we think another one will be coming soon. If going by times gotten it would be Time, then light, then fire... and the sapphire. But that doesn't have anything to do with Silva acting weird... or does it?

Maybe I've been neglecting him. Maybe that's the problem. My poor baby! I should be-- *The writing stops and shouting his heard* Okay... there goes that theory. So what if I'm thinking too loudly? He's just a pain in the a** is what he is! *Rolls her eyes as he starts laughing.* And he really shouldn't be reading over my shoulder. It's rude.

... Well anyways. I caught him making out with another feien--I can write about that if I want, Silva, leave me alone. Well, he says that she's not his girlfriend--Not yet, that is. And maybe that's his problem. Bullshit.

And he keeps trying to pick the lock on my door. It's just a closet-- And they think I'M the liar-- And something might... FALL on him if he opens it. *Snorts*

So I don't know what to do right now. I have to put up with him AND a moody teenager... I feel like a hassled housewife, I swear! At least housewives can cook. So... *sighs* I guess I'll just have to deal with it. Drama queen.

Awww, shuddup.

"Your stuff from the Feien Shop came!" Ice announced as she walked into the room. Silva was lying on the windowsill doing benchpresses. He looked up, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah? I don't remember asking for anything."

"I did for you! Back when you were just a blossom. I only got a few things though, since I didn't know what you would like." She pulled them out of the bag, lying them on the windowsill in front of him. "We've got three pieces of string and a rapier! It's sharp, so try not to cut any vital arteries, alright?"

He pushed the barbell up, letting it down on the sill beside him and standing. "A rapier, huh?" He picked it up by the handle, examining it curiously. He flicked the edge of the blade as he had seen her father do when making a cutter, then held it out in front of him. "Cool." Then he slipped it blade first into one of the holes of his silver chain.

"And three pieces of--"

"String, right. Heard you the first time." He didn't look too impressed but inside he was smirking widely. He finally had the rope he needed to try his ferret-gliding idea. That ROCKED!

"I figured since you were so into working out you wouldn't think having a jump rope was a kid thing." She said, digging in her pocket for a tiny nut. She took the white pice of string, doubling it over and threading the nut on so it hanged in the middle. Then she tied knots at both ends.

He raised an eyebrow. "And that is..."

"Your own jump rope! Helps with speed, stamina and strength. You just hold onto the knots here, then swing it over your body, jumping over it before it hits the ground. After you get used to doing that you can do trick jumps!"

"And I would do that... why?"

"Cuz it's fun." She replied, shrugging. "C'mon, give it a try!"

"You're kidding me, right?"

"You a coward?"

"Bite me." He muttered, but grabbed both ends as she had described, scowling slightly. "This had better help me out, Ice, or I'll use the damn thing to strangle you in your sleep."

He swung the rope, not using enough force, the small nut hitting him in the head. "Ouch."

"Swing a little harder and get ready to jump."

"Yeah, whatever." He tried again, jumping a little too soon and landing on the rope. It threw his balance off, making him stagger forward slightly. He gritted his teeth, then tried again, getting it right the first jump but tripping the second. He got angry, setting his mind to it and forcing himself to try again.

After a while it didn't seem so hard, as long as he kept his wings close to his body and remembered to jump at the right time. He didn't know how it would help with his strength, but Ice had been right about the weight lifting details. She was probably right about this, too.

Insufferable female.

But there was a little smirk on his face as he thought that.

((RP, Silva/Ruya, formatted by Kam^_^))

Hide and Seek
Ruya
Ruya was out on the porch, watching Rishi. She wasn't going go over to Silva's lawn, but she wasn't going to go hide either.

So she sat out on the top step, staring pensively out across the lawn, thinking about her life.

Silva
He had been waiting... even camped out, although he wouldn't admit it. He had everything set up, Jimi Hendrix playing on the stereo, a cup of black cherry fizz begged off of Ice, and a good mood.

Until he realized she wasn't coming to him. He stood, stretching for a second before debating. If she wasn't coming to him... was he desperate enough to hunt her down?

No.

But he found himself heading for the fence in spite of himself, stopping and sitting on it as he looked through her yard. there was the dog... and there she was.

"Darlin."

Ruya
Ruya looked out at Silva across the lawn and she felt herself relax. She'd been waiting for him, even though she hadn't realized it. She smiled at him and got up, making her way over to the fence to sit beside him.

"Hi Silva."

Silva
"You planned on ditching me, didn't you, darlin?" He asked bluntly, watching her with a slight smirk. "I shouldn't be surprised." He leaned back, propping himself on an elbow and swinging one leg over the side, the other bent in front of him.

"I never asked how the firefly was." Not that he cared, but it would give her something to talk about. And then he wouldn't have to.

Ruya
Ruya frowned slightly and looked away.

"Yes and no. If I had really wanted to ditch you I wouldn't have come and sat on the porch."

She looked down at where she had her hands in her lap.

"He was pretty to have at night, but I let him go the next morning since I wasn't sure how to feed him."

Silva
"Kinda like me, huh?" He muttered, thinking about her comment as he spoke. "Good at night, but not much use in the daylight."

"You know... Ice has this door in her room. It goes to all of these strange places like where Io came from. Don't know where else it goes..." Change the subject, keep to neutral ground... that was good. "One of these days I'm going to see where it goes."

Ruya
Ruya sighed and ignored his effort to change the subject.

"No. That isn't true. You're not like a firefly."

She looked up from her hands at him.

"I just... you make me feel really good, but that means you also have the ability to make me feel really bad. It's just scary, this wanting to be with you."

Silva
She wasn't going with his change of subject. Damn women... keep wanting to harp on the details of relationships until you got sick of them... of course, none of these thoughts showed on his face.

"Darlin... I'm not even a month old yet. And I asked Ice one day... she said we only live a couple of years. Like that firefly of yours." He stopped, trying to think of what he was trying to say. "If I lived every day of those few years scared of getting hurt I would wind up hating myself. That's one of the reasons I'm planning on seeing what's on the other side of the door."

He examined his toothpick for a while before he spoke again. "I might be young, but I know what I want. I'm not going to let the chance of pain stop me from getting it, either. But maybe you haven't figured that out yet."

Ruya
Ruya looked away again, studying her hands. She couldn't just leap into things the way he was apparently willing to.

"I don't know what I want."

She pulled up her knees and hugged them to herself, looking out over the yard.

"Any guesses on where you'll end up if you take that door? Think there'll be fairies wherever you go?"

Silva
"I told you about Io's dreams, didn't I? If I wind up there..." He shrugged, not mentioning the gigantic tigers. "I might have to deal with more people like her. But I don't think that's the only place it goes."

He thought for a second, looking almost eager. "I want to meet this... Ober guy she mentioned once. The one that works out. Or maybe the guy she talks on the phone with that she calls a pervert. And hell, she doesn't come from this dimension, maybe I could find out where she DOES come from and use it as blackmail or something."

So she didn't know what she wanted... that was fine. But-- "If I go, darlin... for a little while... will you forget about me?" Maybe it would be for the best...

Ruya
Ruya kept looked down at her knees and tried not to cry. He'd probably go leave and decide he never wanted to come back. Besides, who knew how time between dimensions moved. He might leave for a week and come back to find a year had passed.

"No. Do you really want me to? Are you going to forget about me?"

Silva
"Of course not, darlin. I don't think I could even if I tried." He gave her a crooked grin, shrugging slightly. "Doubt Ice would let me stay gone for too long... maybe." Was he lying again? Even he didn't know. Ice was a convenient excuse for coming back, after all. Then there was that little... lifethread thing she did...

"You ever heard a theory about people having... these things called life threads, darlin?" He asked, curious to know if Ice was just BSing him into being paranoid.

Ruya
Ruya looked up at him and blinked.

"Life threads?"

She shook her head, puzzled.

"I've never heard of them. What are they?"

Silva
"Don't let her know I was paying attention, would you? She's a pain in the a** to live with as it is." He took a deep breath, willing to amuse her even if it wasn't true. "Ice says that life is... like a giant blanket. And each living being and non-living being makes up one of the threads in this blanket. See, some of them run side by side, while others just cross once and never see each other again."

"Now usually I would write that off as bullshit, but there's that door of hers. How can there be a door that leads to different dimensions? The only answer is that Ice knows what she's talking about. Because she can see the damn threads." He scowled, feeling like an idiot for believing that... too.

Ruya
Ruya thought about that for a minute, relaxing her legs so they hung out over the edge again. It sounded alright, except that it meant things were predetermined, something she really didn't want to be true.

"It sounds alright, but I don't like it because it makes it sound like we don't have a choice. That who and what we encounter in our lives is already decided."

She kicked her feet a little.

"I don't suppose you still want to play hide and seek?"

Silva
I don't think that's quite what she meant..." He said, looking thoughtful. "I think she meant we were making the blanket as we went along... but oh well." He shrugged, shoving himself to his feet. "You want to hide or should I?"

Ruya
"Oh. Makes sense."

Ruya looked at Silva with frown. He didn't really seem like he wanted to play. Perhaps it would have been better to avoid him, things weren't going very smoothly tonight.

"We don't have to. I just thought you might want to."

She stood as well and reached out a hand for his.

"I'm sorry."

Silva
"No... You're it." He replied, smirking and falling backwards into the yard. "Count to twenty, Darlin."

He didn't want to make it that long a count. If he did she would never be able to find him.

Ruya
Ruya sighed and sat down with her hands over her eyes. She began counting loud and clear so he'd know how much time he had left.

"1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... "

Twenty really wasn't a very high number and she was done before she knew it.

"18... 19... 20! Ready or not, here I come!"

Brave words, but honestly where should she even start. She stood and surveyed the yard thoughtfully.

Silva
He was sitting under the tree in the middle of the yard, when she called twenty. He stood, crouching behind the tree trunk and watching her as she watched the yard.

He took a step to the side, wondering if he should make a break for it or not.

Ruya
Ruya didn't see anything moving. Hmm... she had a couple options. Just fly around and look for him or try and get him to talk. She had a feeling that wasn't going to work tonight, so she went with the brute force method.

Launching herself into the air, she headed for the tree in the middle of the yard. She ought to have a good view from one of its top branches.

Silva
She was heading straight for him. He blinked, then took a risky chance, running for it. Right as he ran one of the clouds over the moon moved, beaming light down on him. He almost laughed. Looked like his chance to hunt her might be earlier then he had anticipated.

Ruya
Was that...? Something moved in her field of vision, and Ruya zeroed in on it, thanking the moon for her good luck.

"Gotcha!"

She switched direction and zoomed down towards him.

Silva
"Ooph!" He muttered as she tackled him. That seemed to happen pretty often. "So you do, darlin. Guess I'm not very good at being the prey."

He smirked slightly. "I owe you a kiss?"

Ruya
Ruya grinned and arched an eyebrow at him.

"I didn't know we were playing by the same rules."

She wiggled a little to get more comfortable on top of him.

"I'm not sure. You choose this time."

Silva
He grinned, a wicked gleam in his eyes as he reached down, picking up her hand and bringing it to his lips. With an easy air he brushed a kiss over the inside of her wrist, waiting to see how she reacted.

"My turn to count now, darlin."

Ruya
Ruya laughed, served her right for letting him pick.

"You're a punk," she muttered good naturedly, getting up off him. She stood there for a moment, contemplating hiding places and waiting for him to cover his eyes.

Silva
He liked to hear her laugh. He was still smirking slightly as he covered his eyes. "What should I count to, Darlin? Twenty?" There was this sense of anticipation to the game that he had decided to enjoy to its fullest. He was enough of a hunter to love the thrill of the chase as much as he loved catching the prey.

Ruya
"Sure," she replied absent mindedly, already having staked out her hiding place. Under the steps of her own porch. She ought to just be able to wiggle between the boards and hide in there.

Silva
He counted slowly, letting her take her time. This time he hadn't promised to not use his nightvision, and he wasn't about to remind her of that fact. "Ten... eleven...." Slower and slower the counting went, until he could no longer hear her in his yard.

"Twenty! Ready or not, darlin, here I come." But he didn't move, merely scanned the yard for a few seconds before rising into the air. She wasn't in his yard... that meant she had to be in her own.

He crossed over the fence, examining all the trees and flowers for hints of movement. There, by the tree-- wait, that was a rat. She wouldn't be there...

Ruya
Ruya started to regret her hiding place the minute she got there. There was an earthworm over by her right foot blindly sliding along, and a huge spider off to her left just waiting for something tasty to drop by.

She wasn't even watching Silva, just trying to figure out how not to get so grossed out she made too much noise.

Silva
Huh... no signs of feien, so he was looking in the wrong direction. He turned, examining the house for a few seconds. She had a thing for the porch... maybe she was hiding somewhere near there...

He headed there at an easy jog, anticipation making him want to drag the game out. He was slightly masochistic like that.

Ruya
Oh dear, now there was something with too many legs near her other ankle. Ruya shifted, choosing the earthworm and shaking her other leg to dislodge her unwanted new friend.

"Get off," she muttered, wondering what sort of germs bugs carried on their feet.

Silva
He was standing on the steps when he heard her voice. It was muffled, but close enough for him to get a pin on. He jumped down, examining the step closely until he caught sight of the hole. Slowly he moved towards it, peeking in.

He blinked at the sight of Ruya shaking her leg, trying to get a bug off of it... "Having problems, darlin?"

Ruya
Ruya looked up to see Silva looking down at her and frowned.

"Yes. Stupid bug won't get off my leg."

She looked back down and shook her leg a little more forcefully now that she didn't have to worry about making noise. The bug clung on courageously despite her shaking and she looked back up at Silva.

"Help?"

Silva
He snorted, squeezing through the hole and looking the bug over for a second as she squirmed. "Well... I could probably kill it... but what's in it for me?"

He pulled the chain off from his waist, waiting for her to reply. He couldn't help but be slightly amused.

Ruya
Ruya blinked at Silva's chain, a little startled by his assumption she wanted it killed.

"I don't want you to kill it. I just need it to come off and I don't want to touch it."

She made a face, bothered just thinking about how dirty something that spent its time on the ground would be.

"Can you just pull it off and let it go please? And you can have whatever you want in return."

She was too occupied with the bug to realize that was probably a dumb thing to say.

Silva
He smirked widely, wrapping the chain around the bug and tossing it off. It hit the ground and curled into a ball for a few minutes before crawling away. "I like that promise, darlin. I think I'll keep it for later, though. Now let's get out of this place."

He reached out for her hand, waiting patiently for her to accept it.

Ruya
Ruya smiled at Silva and reached out to take his hand as she moved in closer to him.

"Thanks."

Silva
"Not a problem, darlin." He pulled her close, brushing a kiss over her neck before leading her out the hole and up the stairs of the porch. "Looks like I found you."

He sat down, making himself comfortable, his legs sprawled out in front of him. "And it's too dark for you to find me now." He went on, lazily pulling her closer. "I wonder what we should do next..."

Ruya
Ruya leaned in close to Silva, laying her head on his shoulder.

"You just earned a kiss of your choice from me. Unless you want to add it to your running total."

She turned her head and gently kissed his neck a couple times, moving up towards his ear.

Silva
"Mmmm..." He relaxed, pulling her closer. "You sure your bond won't come out and catch us..." He almost purred as she hit an extra sensetive spot. "Making out on the front porch?" He finished, not sounding too concerned.

Ice would have... but somehow he didn't think Ruya's bond was as... nosy as his was.

Ruya
"Yes," she murmured. "Kam's busy with her daughter. She won't bother to come look out here."

She layed her head back down on his shoulder with a contented sigh and closed her eyes.

"You're nice to be around Silva."

Silva
"Mmmm..." So he wasn't really paying attention... but hell, what could you expect? He sighed, enjoying the fell of her pressed against him, the dark night lit by a half moon and stars, the sound of the breeze.

His hand ran up her back, rubbing slowly until it hit the base of her wings. "Darlin?" He asked, playing almost absent-mindedly with the spot. "Tell me a secret."

Ruya
Ruya stopped breathing for a second as Silva started playing with the base of her wings and shivered a little before leaning into his hand.

"A secret?"

She sighed and opened her eyes, looking out onto the lawn.

"Sometimes I can't help myself from rearranging and organizing things. It upsets me when things are messy or out of place."

She said it very quietly, almost mumbling.

"Tell me one?"

Silva
He paused, jerked from his enjoyment of the look on her face. She was a little compulsive, huh? Made sense. He doubted many people would have reacted to the bug like she had. But she wanted a secret, huh?

"Hmm... I like to kill things, darlin. Especially rats." He finally said, not sure if that counted as a secret or not. "They tend to buck before they die."

Ruya
Ruya sat up, surprised, and looked over at Silva for a second.

"You like to kill things? Like you actually derive pleasure from ending their lives?"

Silva
He blinked, wondering what the problem was. "Darlin, I'm a hunter. I kill things that carry diseases and cause problems. And if I enjoy the ride a little along that way it doesn't mean I'm not doing something good."

"Rats are dangerous things, darlin. And they cause all sorts of disorder."

Ruya
"I suppose."

Ruya shook her head a little.

"I would just never enjoy killing something."

She layed her head back down on his shoulder again, scooting close.

Silva
He relaxed, only then realizing that he had tensed up slightly. What was wrong with killing rats? Ice had never seemed to mind. Of course, something told him that Ice had a vicious side of her own. But it didn't matter now. She didn't seem that bothered by it now.

He ran his hand up her arm, playing with her hair then rubbing the base of her ear. "I finally got my rope, darlin. I'm going to have to try that ferret gliding idea. You think you'd want to watch?"

Ruya
Ruya smiled and leaned into Silva's hand. She loved being touched.

"Sure," she whispered. "You still owe me a ride too."

She snuck an arm around his waist and ran her hand along his side.

Silva
"I do, don't I?" He smirked slightly, his hand leaving her ear and touching her chin. He held her still as he leaned forward, brushing a kiss over her lips. "But later, darlin. Right now it's time for good little girls to go to bed."

He leaned in again, deepening the kiss slowly for a few minutes before pulling back and smirking slightly. "That includes you." His thumb reached up, brushing over her bottom lip before he let her go.

Ruya
"But I'm not ti-"

Ruya yawned, interrupting herself. When she was finished she laughed softly and stood, using Silva's shoulder to push herself upright.

"Guess I am. Good night Silva."

She smiled and leaned down to kiss his forehead. Then she walked over behind him and flew up and into the kitchen window, disappearing into her house.

Silva
He stood, stretching and watching the house for a few seconds before jumping off the steps and heading for his own house. The compulsive thing was interesting... and could be used to his advantage with a little work. It had helped with the hunting thing, after all.

He levitated himself up to the open window, sneaking into Ice's room and heading for his stuffed bed, wondering if he would get any sleep... or if he should even bother trying.

Silva... was, strangely enough, taking a nap. He hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, thinking about... well... things, and he was curled up on the windowsill enjoying the dark rainy day outside. Ice was playing on the computer, working on one of her stories, another AU about that damn comic of hers.

Needless to say, they were'nt expecting the knock on the door. On the closet door, that is. Ice blinked, not sure if she should open it in front of Silva or not, then shrugged as she realized he was still sleeping. She stood, heading for the door and unlocking it, only to have it opened for her by an irritated looking... well... her.

"I need Io back, luv. I know she's only been here for a day or so--"

"Two months."

"Huh? Oh, guess time works differently here." M. Ice paused, relaxing slightly. "Well that means she's had a good rest. Where is she?"

"In her room, actually. She's been playing her guitar for the past couple of days. Do you know how much of a pain it is getting her tutor to come here? He HATES Earth, you know!"

"Yeah, yeah... that way, right?"

"Yeah." Ice sat back, watching the other female head out the door and down the hall. She moved to close and lock it, only to blink as yet another Ice popped her head through. This one was different, wearing a large trenchcoat and a slight smile. She was carrying a little girl with big green eyes and green hair.

"I'm ho-ome!!" The Tarot Ice said, snickering as the little girl mimicked her.

"I'm hoo-oome!!" Jade said happily, looking completely comfortable with two mothers in one place. "Where's da peanutbutter?"

"In the kitchen." T. Ice said, letting the little girl down. Jade went running, leaving Ice staring at her counterpart.

"No."

"Just for a little while? She'll be good! I promise!" T. Ice pleaded. "She likes cartoons, but keep her away from the violent ones, she has nightmares. And she has the bad habit of speaking to strangers, so keep an eye on--"

"I said No, Ice!!" Ice almost wailed. She blinked as someone tugged on her hand and looked down at the girl in question. "What's up, shortstuff?"

"I gotta go potttty!!" Jade mumbled, doing a little dance. T. Ice took advantage, stepping back through the door and waving.

"Be good for Mommy, Jade!" T. Ice called, disappearing before Ice could complain again. She groaned, picking up the little girl and heading for the bathroom. She passed M. Ice in the hall, not surprised that the other woman was locked out of her daughter's room.

"Would you be reasonable, Io? I need you there! All of the masques seem to be showing up right about now. They're KIDS! They can't protect--"

No!

"But... He's back. Silva's back, luv, and he could have killed Ashy the other night."

The door opened slowly, making Ice jerk as she realized Jade was doing her potty dance even faster then earlier. She sighed, taking the little girl into the bathroom and leaving the door opened so she could hear.

Is... is she...

"Just unconscious. But she's been around longer, luv... Who knows what he would do to one of the new masques? Look, I know you don't want to deal with some things, but you're going to have to. The safety of my-OUR colony means more then your emotional problems."

Ice winced at that... Masquerade Ice always was a little more... callous then the others. She sighed as she heard Io speak.

I... you're right. I've been acting like a child. But--

"No, look, I understand. How do you think I felt after I calmed down last time? Loki did the right thing by rifting Silva and the others... but I can't go back and change what I did. All I can do is keep everyone safe NOW. And I need your help to do it. So get your things and c'mon."

Io nodded, heading back into her room to pack. "All done!" Jade called, standing and pulling up her shorts.

"Good job!" Ice replied, pasting on a grin. It seemed that Masquerade was a hard place to live... It was surprising that Io was... well... she stopped that thought, shrugging it off. Maybe the girl had just needed some time alone.

"Um... Ice?" She asked, something occuring to her. "Did anybody shut the rift door?"

"Not me. I thought you did."

"... s**t." She muttered, picking up Jade and racing into the room.

"s**t!" Jade repeated happily, making Ice groan. Then she really felt like cussing. The door was still open... and Silva was nowhere to be seen. "s**t! Shitshitshit!!" Jade sang happily.

"You said it, sister." Ice muttered, rubbing her temple wearily.

So... He had a girl back home, things he needed to take care of... but he had taken the opportunity that had presented itself. It was the only thing he could have done, right? And this had been bothering him for a while.

So now he was on the other side... and he had no idea where he was. It looked like a forest of some sorts, trees that were miles taller then any he had seen back at home, and he could have sworn he saw a snake crawing one a few feet back.

The weather was humid, making him sweat slightly, and there was a feel to the place that made his hair stand on the back of his neck... had he had any hair there, that was. He was flying, the ground was too covered with roots and vines and moving things for him to want to deal with walking. Which was strange, because usually he enjoyed running into moving things.

But normally the moving things weren't larger than Ice...

He coughed, smelling some sort of smoke, then looked around. If there was a fire-- He blinked as he caught sight of a man leaning back against a tree, smoking a cigarette. The man was huge, a good foot taller than Ice, and wearing a long, sinister looking red trench coat. He had long jean-clad legs that ended in a pair of cowboy boots with sharpened spurs. On his hip he wore a pair of Katana, a pistol on the other side. His shirt was plain black, and torn slightly, his face...

His face was an older version of Silva's own. But the eyes were cold, vicious... and looking the fairy over with amusement. "Well, well, well... What do we have here?" The man stood straight slowly, pushing himself away from the tree and heading towards the small fairy. He took a drag off of his cigarette, blowing the smoke directly into Silva's face.

Silva refused to cough, glaring up at the human and crossing his arms over his chest. "What the hell do you THINK we have here? Short guy, wings, no clothes? I'm thinking faerie, but hell, you might not be smart enough to be."

The man blinked, then snorted, taking another drag. "I was waiting for Ice. I didn't know she was stupid enough to send a... faerie... to do a man's job." He shrugged. "But hell, I can kill you before I kill her. Shouldn't take to long." He paused, examining the fairy briefly. "You don't come from this place, do you?"

"Why the hell should I tell you?"

"Don't have to. Doesn't matter to me where you come from. But I thought you would want to drag this out for a while. Figure out a way to escape."

"Who are you?" Silva asked, feeling a strange mix of hatred and respect welling up. This man... was dangerous. And he smelt like... blood. The sickening sweet smell that comes from a large amount. Silva looked around, blinking at the sight of a gigantic cat carcass in the background, the skin hanging from a wire. The cat was as big as a house... a two story house, almost. It made the man look small. And it made Silva look like a toy. He scowled.

"Me? Just a poacher. You, though... who do you belong to?"

"What? I don't belong to--"

"You're housebroken, kid. You can see it in your eyes. Makes killing you seem like a waste of time." The man said, snorting and turning his back on the fairy. Silva growled, rushing in to attack only to get swatted away like a fly. The man hadn't even bothered to look. "Besides. You'll die soon enough. You look bite-sized to me."

"I'm NOT going to die." Silva replied. "Now tell me who you are!"

"Why waste my name on a kid that won't live long enough to remember it?" The man asked philosophically. "Now get lost. I've got a Rade to package for shipment."

Silva scowled, falling silent as rage poured through his veins. He hated that man. And he would make him suffer for being such an a*****e.

Somehow.

"Are you sure he came to THIS dimension?" M. Ice asked as she led the way through the masquerade forest. Her broadsword was cutting through the treebranches with an easy rythm, making Ice wonder how long she had been practicing that move.

"This was where the door was set to. And unlike the Tarot Ice, he doesn't have the ability to reroute the rift. I left it on this dimension so Io could visit home when she wanted to..."

"Yeah..." M. Ice said nothing after that single word for a second. Then she spoke again. "Icy... Masquerade isn't like your backyard. I don't--"

"Don't say it. Don't even THINK it, Ice. My fairy is alive. He's a survivor. And he will live until I can hunt him down and kill him for giving me a heart attack." Ice hissed. She was carrying Jade on her hip, having had no one to babysit on such a short notice... that she had thought of. She probably could have asked TB, but--

"I'm just saying that--" M. Ice stopped, shrugging. "Forget it. We'll find what we can find."

They walked on, Io silently guarding the rear, her bow and arrow attained from M. Ice and slung over her shoulder. She wasn't saying anything... it could well be possible that the little s**t was dead. And she almost felt guilty because of that fact.

Jade was quietly toying with Ice's shirt, buttoning and unbuttoning the top button as she tried to fight the sad feeling she got from her new mommy. She didn't know who the fairy they were looking for was, she didn't really care. All she knew was that she wanted people to be happy again. But she didn't know how to cheer them up.

"Look... I would know if he was dead. He's bonded to me, right? His lifethread is connected to mine. And it feels fine. So he's okay." For now. But no one said the words that were in everyone's minds. For now he was okay... until something came along and thought he looked tasty. Until-- Ice scowled, cursing herself for even thinking such things.

"Maybe... maybe he's found someone that can keep him from being killed." She finally ventured, grasping at any small hint of hope she could. "Maybe he's with someone safe..."

The only person that roams these woods-- Io started out, stopping and flushing through her mask as she realized that they had heard her.

"Is who, Io? Tell me." Ice said, turning, hope warring with worry.

"Is Silva." M. Ice replied briskly. "He could keep the kid safe. If he didn't kill him, himself, that is."

Silva scowled, sitting on a low tree branch and watching the stranger light a fire. He didn't really feel like exploring with the approaching night. It would test his darkvision, true, but even with darkvision you couldn't see something attacking from behind. Maybe if he knew the place as well as he knew his backyard... but not tonight.

"You still here, huh?" The man's voice made him jerk, wondering how he could see him through the shadows. "You might want to move before the python in the limb above you gets hungry."

"..." He was about to call the man's bluff when he heard the sickeningly quiet hiss of a snake about to attack. He jumped, diving out of the way just in time, the large snake jaw clamping onto the branch where he had been sitting.

The man at the fire smirked, turning his roasting meat over the fire and waiting for the fairy to speak. He was bored. The kid from earlier had irritated him, but this one... this one was mildly amusing. There was a hint of fear under that bravado, an emotion he had lost long ago. Right along with hope.

"You could have mentioned that earlier." Silva finally said, scowling as the man snorted. "How did you kill that... thing, anyways?" He asked, one of the questions that had been bugging him coming out of his mouth before he could think.

"Slit her throat. Clean cut, didn't hurt the coat too much." The man replied absently as he pulled the meat off the fire. "Why'd you come here, kid? You suicidal?" The question was emotionless save for a hint of morbid curiosity.

"I'm not going to die, dammit. I've already told you that."

"You would have died just a few minutes ago." The man replied as he started to eat. "You owe me, kid."

Silva stayed silent, blinking as what he had always thought was put so bluntly. A life debt. Just like the one he owed the feien Julius. And the one he owed Ice.

But something told him this guy was the type to collect...
