Oh, and another thing- the more I read the outline the more I remember things that were planned- the kid before he/she takes over runs around town doing errands and the more errands you perform the more people like you and are willing to help you in return when you start your farm. For example, the Cliff scene where you help him get a job could be replayed but as kids with you asking him to accompany you on a job and when you get older that actually becomes his job- and he thanks you for introducing him to it!
Just a thought I liked. ^^

Okay, so to the first post, I think that Grandpa needs to die, otherwise, your twin would be taking care of one of the other farms and your son wouldn't have one....orrrrrr....i've heard different things regarding your son going into different professions? What's this? Because if your son doesn't take up farming, then Grandpa doesn't have to die... biggrin Oh, and when are we stopping the children? at grandchildren? cause i definitely want my kid to grow up and get married and have a kid, but i don't know if i want a 12-year-old toddler or something, you know? so when does the aging stop? and...i think that our character should get grey/white hair as he ages biggrin
To the second post: That's perfect!!
And to the third, I don't get it. o__O Just rephrase it and I might understand it a tad bit better. biggrin

I think once you marry and have kids then it's true that grandpa's time to pass on might be approaching- if your kid decides he wants to take over the farm. I just think it might be nice to finally have a game where we see grandpa since he always dies before the game starts in the old versions. In AWL and AnWL your kid could pick to be something other than a farmer depending on where you took him as a kid, the type of gifts you gave him, and the friends you have. I think stopping at grandchildren would be appropriate- I think at that point your character will be about ready to die. XP I really like the idea of grey hair and changing features as he/she grows. ^^
In relation to the third idea, when you're running around as a kid (before grandpa names you worthy of running your own farm) when you're done with your farm chores you probably have lots of time to kill, so your character can go into town and run errands for the adults (like delivering letters, picking up milk from the store, etc) and that will raise their respect for you so when you begin your farming days they are willing to help you like you helped them when you were a kid. In relation to the Cliff idea- in Back to Nature you could help Cliff stay in town by letting him take the job at the winery instead of doing it by yourself (so when you do it you take him with you and he decides that's what he wants to do). So in this one you can direct the other kids (like a younger Cliff) and convince him to help you with say picking grapes at the winery for Duke and then when you get older and take over the farm he will grow older and begin to do that job full time. Does that make more sense than it did the first time? I realized how confusing it was when I reread it- sorry, it's late here. ^^

Okay...that makes much more sense. 3nodding
And I agree with you that it would be cool to be able to direct the younger Cliffs and whoever else, but that might fudge with the general storyline (when they're young adults) and people may not like that. razz

Hm, well we could make it that they will choose that path eventually either way, but if you help them they are grateful to you and thus you earn friendship points! Thus, you can't accidentally mess up their lives but not offering them the jobs but at the same time you won't be changing their lives either by doing so.

Good idea!! I think that we're getting to the point where ideas are clear enough so that we can start writing. ^_^
So...I'm off for tonight. Maybe I'll be on tomorrow. Good night!!

Night! I'll be back tomorrow during the day and about 11 pm my time (which I think is 9 for you) so maybe we can start busting out that introduction now that we have a few concrete ideas. ^^

I'd love to help with this, although I am not particularly skilled with computers.
If there's anything else, though, specifically, I'm totally willing to do anything I can. ^-^

Ehhh...so you're doing all of this on your computer. What are the controls going to be? I'm thinking of having a tutorial in the game's introduction, but I don't know. o_O

Wow, I meant to post sooner, but you guys moved along quite quickly. Anyvayses-Those all sound like really cool ideas! For the young kids idea, you could have the young people(like Cliff and someothers) and once you grow up, there'll be new people in the town that you don't have any sort of relationship with yet. Just an idea. On that note, (which note?) should I take the flash programming sort of class next year? It's a possibility, and it sounds like a good idea for this project.

Yeah, having new people move in will keep making it interesting, even after you're best friends with everyone- you'll have new people to try and win over. ^^
