Konoha lifted her ears foward, now a faint thunder was coming from the distance. There was no dust cloud yet only scent and sound. She thought about the herd, "If your here who is takeing care of the herd? With Path slowed down she kept her head level with his neck, now that sounds could be heard there was no doubt that a wild herd was envolved, but that strange smell was still present. The smell recalled some memory that Konoha couldn't quite place. She shook her head, bugged by the feeling.

Eclipse grazed calmly, although her ears flitted around her head. She had recently escaped with a couple of other mares at the last minute from where her previous herd went. They had been running from the strange creatures mounted on those of her own kind. They had all run, but suddenly a few of the horses had led them toward a strange structure. The strange smell made her go against many instincts and pull off at the last minute.
It had been extremely difficult for her to pull away from the safety of the herd, but the smell reminded her of her foalhood, when her herd had been the same strange creatures. Only fear that strong had been able to pull her away, along with a couple of other mares who had had some similar forebodings.
They now grazed in an area where the structure was barely visible. She and the other two mares planned to find another herd as soon as possible; there was safety in numbers. From the smell on the wind, other horses weren't far, but the three didn't want to waste their energy with there being so little water and such high temperatures.

Colonel Cunningham rode up to Jaden, they had gotten some of the horses to follow the bait mustangs. Others wandered off some way, he stopped five riders and Jaden. "For you six we are going after the rest of the horses." He swung Destiny around heading off at a trot and expecting the others to follow. The escaped horses hadn't gone to far but he expected them to run and grabbed one of his ropes, getting ready to lasso one of the horses.
Konoha spotted a few dots on the horizon, other horses, to far to see more than the number. "No reason just asking. Hope they don't get to big for their pants and start challenging you. Are you planning on kicking any of them out? I mean it's just about time for some of them to leave." Her limp was more pronounced with the leg becoming more painfull with every minute and she was beginning to sweat, the color of her coat darkening slightly.

Eclipse lifted her head from grazing to scan around the area. Suddenly her eyes widened, and her ears swung to face in front of her. Before she could call out, she saw another tiny dot in a different area; it could only be one or two horses. "Emma! Brook! They're back!" Her two herdmates were instantly alert and scanning the horizon like she was.
Eclipse wheeled around and started galloping away from the five riders. She didn't want to gallop toward the other two horses; it would ensure that they might be caught as well. Eclipse desperately galloped as fast as she could, but she wasn't sure if there was a way she could get away now.

"I could easily beat any of them. I probably will kick a few of them out soon."Path snorted. He had spotted the horses too. He tossed his head and stomped his hoof when the horses suddenly took off running from something towards them.

Colonel Cunningham threw his reins foward, sending Destiny into a full out gallop. The other riders followed suit, some of the horses snorting and one letting out a whinne. He lead them so that they could catch the horses and swing them back towards the fort. He started to gain ground on the wild mustangs, he had chosen the fastest riders and horses. They needed all the horses they could get and would stop at nothing to get them. He smiled when he saw another pair of horses. 'Perfect five horses for the taking.'
Konoha pricked her ears and watched the three horses run. The strange smell was getting stronger as the horses raced away from a bloob, no more than five or six. "What ever that is it's gaining fast." She turned, pushing Path to do the same, and went towards the wid horses.

Eclipse continued at a desperate, all-out pace. She knew she couldn't keep it up for too much longer, but she had to try. Because of her side vision, she could see the other two horses on the horizon. After another few strides she realized that they were coming closer; they looked to thin to be facing another direction.
She screamed a desperate cry to send them away; not wanting this fate for more horses than it had to be. She screamed again, wanting to get the message across. Although she had little air to spare, she knew she had to warn them. All she could do was hope that somehow she would survive what they would do to her; she would fight as hard as she could to get away. Her breath was coming in ragged gasps now, her nostrils flared.

Jaden who was riding Tark bare-back with a lassoo in her hand caught a mare and tied her to a tree.

When they reached the other horses Path stopped in the trail in between the mares and the strange creatures. Rearing up he screamed for the mares to run. He was not about to let these humans get the mares.

Eclipse heard Emma be caught; her hoofbeats ceased galloping beside her and she could faintly hear the sounds of her struggling behind her. A stallion came up and confronted the riders; Eclipse was grateful to him and slackened her pace to a canter. She was extremely tired, but made herself go on.

Jaden followed another mare that was going at a canter. Luckily she was an experienced rider so she caught the mare that looked tired.

Path reared one of his hooves catching the rope that Jaden had thrown around the mare's neck. He stumbled pulling the mare and hopefully the rider down with him.
"Jaden catch that stallion! He looks like he has Clydesdale in him and would be great for pulling things."one of the other riders shouted to Jaden

As Path came down from his rear the rope yanked Eclipse off balance and she was pulled forcefully to the ground. Instictively she scrabbled to try and bring her legs back underneath her. She managed to heave herself into a position to where her legs were directly underneath her and she was "sitting up" on her legs, but still lying down. Eclipse just needed to throw her front legs out and push with her hind legs to bring herself back up.
