Mimicking Josh, she touched her lightly aching ear and caressed the detailing of the black star with a small, pained smile on her face. Drawing her hand back to her range of sight, Namini frowned at the ruby droplets glistening on her fingertips. It seemed her ear really was quite sensitive, producing more blood than Josh's, but she merely ignored it and just grabbed a cottonball and dabbed her cartilage carefully. Now a throbbing had begun in her ear and Namini glanced upwards from the hand in her lap to Josh, to make sure he wasn't in too much pain. At his compliment, she broke out into a wider, brighter smile and nodded in agreement, "I hope you like orange." She laughed at the end and then, leaning forward, embraced Josh tightly, her ear hissing in protest as a part of it barely making contact with his neck, but she just ignored it and continued hugging.

Finally releasing him from her appreciative hold, she turned to Natasha who had seemingly disappeared and then glanced over at Devin.

"We did a good job right?" she inquired, suddenly picking up on another's voice. That's when she remembered a few minutes ago, as the teens were piercing, she had heard the welcome-ring echo throughout the store. Curiosity taking over, she continued bluntly, "Who..is that? A customer?"
A chill ran up Namini's spine as she heard Natasha's shrill laughter follow the stranger's voice. She had a bad feeling about the newcomer..

Josh took part in the deep embrace and used the time to examine his own ear in a dusty mirror lying behind Namini. His mouth feel partially agape as a miniature orange heart embedded in his ear stared back at him. He grinned and replied melodiously through gritted teeth, “Ah, it is lovely chickie!”

Josh perked at the sign of a new customer. The voice echoed off the walls and musty gray curtains hiding away the back room from the main shop. The fact that Namini and he were still competing from a job had nearly left his mind; almost becoming a distant memory.

Devin straightened up when the shrill, nagging voice of an ‘old friend’ pierced his ears. His face wrinkled and puckered into a sour expression. As well, his eyes were a fiery crimson glowing with irritation. “Well, should we go attend the new customer Natasha?” Devin’s words were filled with spite and malice. Even his tattoos seemed to glow with rage finishing off his devilish ensemble. A few mumbles escaped from under his breath, “Trying to steal Natasha away…urfgh!”

Namini glanced from the enraged Devin to Josh and raised her eye brows in worry, leaning in once again to make sure the crimson, herculean man beside them couldn't hear, "Do you think we should go? Something tells me not to interfere." She shifted away a little and looked Josh in the eye with an apprehensiveness. That's when the dangerously flirtatious voice of Natasha sang out to them, "Deviiinnnn~ Come see who it is!"

Namini felt another shiver run throughout her body at that woman's voice. Something fishy was definetely going about. Natasha called again, but this time, the sickeningly mellifluous tone had dropped dead and was replaced by a tone Namini knew all too well.

"DEVIN. Get your a** over here! Nick and I would like to have a little discussion with you," the she-devil hissed.

Josh internally flinched at the rancor of Natasha’s voice. The sound was shrill enough to bring a dead man back to life… only to be killed again by the sadistic harpy. The boy kept his voice at a low octave to avoid the scrutiny of the fuming Devin. “I think we should just sit this one out… I for one don’t want Natasha to have a grudge on me for being nosy!”

"COMING!!!"

Devin had already walked laboriously into the main shop at a lackadaisical pace. From there on splitting yells reverberated off the walls, echoed off the arbitrary nick-knacks of the shop, and fell on the curious ears of the two teens. However, the screeching soon subsided then was replaced by whispered apologies and vivacious gibberish. Devin returned to the backroom and took refuge in a corner of the room. It was hard not to notice the contented smirk plastered generously on his face.

Namini cringed at the screams and accusations as Natasha's vocalized anger seemed to crawl higher and higher on the scales, until finally all simmered back down into loving apologies and nonsensical murmurs. Finally, Namini watched with great curiosity as Devin casually rejoined them back in the dark room, a smirk playing across his features, even his tattoos seemed a little happier. Following him was the harpy herself, a little red in the face but smiling all the same. Instinctively, Namini stood up ,making sure to tuck her excess hair behind her newly pierced ear, in hopes for some recognition. But something in Natasha's face seemed to say otherwise.

An incredibly young and charming man then slid in behind the tempermental woman with a defeated look on his face and lit a cigarette, smoking irritably. Natasha introduced him immediately, a cat like grin plastered onto her face, "This is Nick, kiddos. He'll be taking his position back, sooooooo. You can get your butts out of my store and enjoy those earrings as a "I'm sorry" freebie, kay?"

Natasha didn't seem to miss a beat and Namini could tell the woman was ecstatic to get rid of them, though Namini herself felt her heart sink a little. All this, for nothing. The teen gaped stupidly at the white-haired woman, but figuring it was best to avoid conflict, Namini smiled and simply stated "Understood." Grabbing her bag, the disappointed girl left the backroom and walked out the store. It was then that she let her frustrations out.

"That sick...twisted..HARPY! Ugh! I...Frick!" Namini pouted as she reached the safety of outdoors, but then she repeated a procedure she had seen some of David's girlfriends...or ex-girlfriends perform, and so stood there, breathing heavily for a count of ten. After that, she realized something: Josh was still inside. Believing it was polite to wait for him and perhaps exchange numbers, Namini stared patiently at Skin Tyte's entrance, a tranquility playing across her features. She hoped that he came out in one piece.

Josh took a double take when Natasha dropped the little bombshell of information on the duo. Unlike a normal bomb, this particular shell sunk deep under Josh’s skin spared a few seconds before it exploded; annihilating any good humor Josh had salvaged with its bitter shrapnel. All this work, the sacrifice of his entire Saturday, had been pointless. If anything he had been mauled, molested, and massacred. Sadly, the boy did not have the polite and forgiving nature that Namini had. His jaw went slack and a roar ripped from his throat, “WHY YOU FRICKN’!!! AGH!” Josh stormed from the shop in a fit of curses and flailing limbs; making sure he knocked over at least one pair of earrings on his way out. As he left the boy could make out a few curses coming from the threesome in the backroom. He hoped that would be the last he would ever hear from them…

Josh saw Namini waiting on the sidewalk and his rage seemed to subside into mild irritation. “H-hello. I’m sorry about that,” His fatigued and scream weary eyes seemed to be lost in her cerulean pools, “They shouldn’t have done that to you.” He forced a smile on his face and reached for his wallet. “If you ever need me you should ring me up sometime.” He unfolded a tattered scrap of paper which had a few digits haphazardly scrawled on it.

Namini stared wide-eyed at the entrance as Josh came out, obviously upset and still fuming, and she truly hoped that none of the three misfits from this store had attempted to chase Josh down and kill him. Especially Natasha. Namini could easily imagine Natasha being held back by the brawny Devin, a vein pulsing violently on her forehead as her clawed hands reached for anything to chuck at Josh as he left. Pushing this terrifying scenario out of her mind, Namini broke out into a caring smile as she glanced Josh over, happy to see that all limbs were intact.

"It's all right. I've been to worse interviews," she laughed carelessly as she copied the boy and began rummaging through her bag for a scrap piece of paper. She found the perfect sample and, grabbing a panda pen, neatly wrote out her name and number on the paper and handed it to him. The paper, ironically enough, was the ad she had kept to find Skin Tyte.

"And if you ever need me, here's my number. Let's keep in touch shall we? I mean, we're both associated with Lab 305 and hopefully, one day, we'll both be owners and I'd love for my Raevan to be friends with yours," she giggled. Whatever pain or anger she felt seemed to dissolve immediately as the excitement of making a new official friend overwhelmed her.

Josh gingerly accepted her number as if it were a small animal or would dissolve upon contact. He tucked away in his wallet safely between his driver’s license and gym membership card; in a place he would always remember. He gave it one last glance over just to make sure the paper hadn’t flown away before tucking his wallet back into his shorts. “Yes, I’m sure we’ll all be best buds!” Josh gave Namini one last chaste hug before walking off into the sunset… or, well, to a crosswalk signal. Even though today had been a massive tragedy, perhaps it would still lead to something greater…
