Noel nodded, "Yes, it's beautiful." Noel looked about her and saw the trees covered in snow and she just loved it. "It's really nice here especially with all the snow. I live up in the mountains." Where it was a bit colder and had a bit of snow all the time.
"Do you live in the lake?" Noel didn't know much about naiads and wasn't sure how long they could stay out of the water. "What's it like to breathe under water?" That sounded facinating!

"The mountains?" She pursed her lips. "I wonder if there's any water up there..." Perhaps she and Noel would have to find some place in the middle. ...Wait. She just met Noel a few hours ago. Aysu, don't be ridiculous. She chuckled, taking in the view as the next question came towards her. The naiad pursed her lips before answering.
Aysu made them skid to a brief stop before deciding to reply. "Well, my guardian insisted on keeping me nearby so she always kept my egg in a little bowl of water. When I hatched, my home become the pool in the backyard. I never really lived in the lake, though it's pretty neat to dive down there and interact with all the little fishies." She giggled, resuming their skate down the river. "But breathing underwater just feels natural to me. We're like fish in a way because we're used to breathing underwater. Initially, telling myself to breathe the air felt a bit odd."

"Yeah, it's got snow most of the year up there." She smiled and then pondered the question. "I think so, we'll have to check it out!" Noel was sure it would be fun to be close to each other.
Noel stopped with her and listened intently, "That makes since. What's it like under the lake?" She had been swimming before, but she normally just closed her eyes and didn't see what was around.

"Under the lake is pretty fascinating." Aysu grinned. "I don't usually go down that far, but the fish just near the surface are all so colorful and bright. There's also all sorts of hidden caves and passages if one knows where to look. The lake has a lot going on, and it's really interesting to explore." She chuckled. "But I think I can appreciate it so much because I don't always see it. If it was home, I probably wouldn't find it as fascinating as I do now."
The naiad looked out into the icy forest. "In a way, the lake is like the forest. It seems like an endless underwater adventure." Aysu laughed. "That sounds really corny. But this is like an endless adventure too."

Noel nodded as she listened very carefully. It sounded really cool to be able to do that, but then she could fly and she guessed that was the compensation for not breathing underwater.
"It sounds really cool." She smiled and looked where Aysu was looking, "I think the forest is a fun adventure. It seems even more fun with you." She blushed and pushed her feet forward on the ice.

Aysu had always wanted to fly, but she quickly decided that it would probably dry out her sky too quickly to be in all of that air without much water. Walking, or skating, on the ground and swimming were plenty better. "It is really cool. Normal Pae'il can't breathe too well underwater, but perhaps I'll find some way to show you the view under the lake."
Noel just said having her around made the adventure more fun. Aysu couldn't help her own blush of delight. "Thank you, Noel," replied the naiad, honestly flattered. She skated after Noel with a grin from ear to ear.

It would be so neat to see that view, but right now all that really mattered was being with Aysu. She didn't really care where, just that she was with her.
"You're welcome!" Noel said with a grin of her own. "Should we try and skate faster now?" She wasn't sure if she could, but she was willing to try.

Aysu couldn't help her giggles at the images she got of them falling as soon as they tried. Of course, it wouldn't so bad. They had each other, so there was no way they'd get too hurt. And even if they were injured, Aysu would still be happy that they had tried, and that she had tried with Noel by her side.
Then, she leaned forward, as if getting ready to start a race. "Yeah, let's try it." She glanced out to the endless river, snickering. Then, she announced, "On your mark," paused for a second and leaned forward more, "Get set..." And, with a laugh, she skated forward as soon as she exclaimed, "GO!"

"Hey!" Noel giggled as Aysu started the race before she was ready. Now she was going to have to catch up. Noel slid her first foot and then the other.
It didn't go so bad. She was a bit wobbly, but she was still on her feet. She slid her feet and pushed them hard to catch up to Aysu, "Here I come you cheater!" She was laughing the whole way she went.

Aysu turned around to teasingly stick out her tongue, but then when she saw Noel catching out, she let out a small shriek and turned back forward. "Nev-aaaar!," declared the naiad, laughing hysterically as she attempted to stay ahead.
Admittedly, it was a bit difficult to skate while laughing so hard, but Aysu forced herself to keep concentration. Aysu wouldn't be beat! Naturally, however, she slowed down. It was better to sprint towards the end of a race than at the beginning.

Noel laughed and pushed herself even faster. She felt the bumps in the river and her foot got a tad bit wobblier, but she stayed up.
"Uh huh!" She cried as she pulled up beside Aysu, "By the way, where's the finish line?" She said as she stayed next to Aysu, she figured she find that out and then try and pass her.

As soon as Aysu saw Noel skating beside her, she knew the finish line had to be close. Otherwise, Noel would have a chance to get ahead of her. "Uh..." Snickering, the naiad glanced around for a good ending place. Then, she saw it. It was perfect.
There was a branch hanging low from a tree covered in snow just a little bit ahead. "There!" With that declaration, Aysu sped up yet more, nearly falling in the process. Laughter accompanied her attempt to get ahead.

Noel spotted the tree branch and nodded, looked like a great finish line. "Alright!" She said as she saw the branch comming closer. Then she noticed Aysu going faster!
"No you don't!" She said as she pushed what was left of her energy into her legs. She didn't really want to win, but it was still fun trying. Noel pushed herself so she was just slightly behind Aysu. "Almost got you!"

"Oh no!" exclaimed Aysu dramatically, as she sped towards the finish. As soon as she felt herself pass under the branch, Aysu slowed to a stop and glanced around to see if Noel had gotten there before she did. Aysu didn't particularly care if she had won or not, but it was still fun to win.
Of course, with Noel, everything seemed enjoyable. "That was fun, but I think my legs are tired now." She laughed, sitting down on the nearest patch of snow.

Aysu has won, but only by a few seconds. "Congratulations!" Noel said happily, she wasn't sad in the least that she hadn't won. The race was too fun to worry about that.
"Yeah, mine too." She slid over and sat next to Aysu her breathing heavy and making foggy bursts by her face. "Are we close to the basket? Did you pack drinks?" She was a bit thristy now and figured if Aysu had everything in that basket she wold have drinks.
