Muraki *Charon jumped at the clattering boom of Kitxoone's staff, his wings opening to full span in surprise. He folded them once again when it became clear the fairy's intention was to get all of their attentions. He listened closely- wondering what exactly this 'fire and earth' ceremony entailed...
Though he had no 'loved ones' in danger of falling to the Darkness- Charon was still intent of freeing himself from any influence. Kit's mention of learning to shield one's mind was what interested him the most.*
Teams...
*The red Painter muttered, looking from his sword to the others in the group who had already begun to split up into twos.* So it seemed. They were starting to divide into groups. Aziraphael looked for Charon. She really hit it off with him. He was really nice. Noticing the search, Ginger helped along with her. (Azira had described this draconic in detail.)
The two ambled up to the sandpaint and Ginger slapped an affectionate pat-patting against her Azira. "Alright, luv. You're on your own. Its your training," she said with her bangles jingling. She smartly saltued the two and started to break away from them. Comfident of their prowess.
"If you need anything I've got it in my bag," she added - the sling bag on her back now explained. Ginger sought out Kitxoone again to speak with him."Hi again," Aziraphael started shyly, "Uhn, I don't remember but did we tell each other our names...? I'm Aziraphael. 'Nn, I'd like to train with you if that's ok..."

Kaliska wasn't thrilled with the idea of using a weapon, but the term "war-mage' had a nice ring to it. She joined the others and took one for herself.
Nida found a place she could sit and watch, a coyote of course couldn't use a sword but she might learn something here. Otherwise there were many handsome painters to watch, and Ren was always good for a laugh.

*Charon lifted his head as the female Painter he'd been speaking with earlier approached. Apparently she had gone to fetch her human companion, whom he nodded once to in greeting. Personally he was glad his human was not here- not only would that be embarassing, but Charon didn't fancy Muraki accidently getting injured. Best to leave him in the relative safety of the cave.*
...Strange creatures, aren't they?
*He remarked, watching Ginger leave to speak with the fairy. The red painter blinked when Azi introduced herself and offered to train with him.*
With me? That...would be fine. Yes.
*Was his hesitant reply- it wasn't that he did not like her, it was just that he was unused to the attentions of other Painters. His usually grumpy attitude often scared others off...*
My name is Charon. ....Teeth and claws seem sufficient for fighting, but it seems these sword things have something to do with magic.
*His eyes gleamed with interest as he picked up the wooden sword.*
...Shall we?

Aziraphael nodded. Humans were strange in their own way. But perhaps Charon was just grumpy with his? Aziraphael smiled a little as she started to heft the wieghty wooden sword.
"We sh-shall!" Aziraphael said bravely, "Are you ready?"
She hunkered down into what could possibly be termed as a defensive stance, if you could count putting only a fraction of one's bulk behind a little branch be defensive... It seemed that she had no idea how to really hold a sword let alone fight with one.
She let out her breath with an almost inaudiable hiss, trying to figure out what would happen.
Ginger was worried about this. She should probably explain swordplay to her sandpaint counterpart but at the same time she didn't want her to learn for fear of being hurt. The human hoped that the fairy knew what he was doing.

Temeraire's eyes narrowed as he watched the other Painters begin to handle their... "swords." He stifled a whimper as he remembered his lost companion, so good with his own saber... pushing those thoughts out his mind, he rose to fetch a sword from the table. Part of him was fascinated how that everything here was tailored to the Painters - the wooden sword he chose was the perfect size. He waved the sword around a bit, feeling the weight in his talons. Whatever or whoever that voice was inside his head was going to pay for the things it said. With blood, preferably.
Arching his frilled head above the crowd, he scanned for a familiar face to duel with, and found none. Folding his wings tighter against his large frame, he padded through the excited Painters. Some were also holding large books - Magic tomes, some called them. The idea intrigued him, but he still had not decided on one single magic.

The dark blue dragon smiled at his opponent as he watched him take on some sort of strange position that looked almost like an attempt at a fighting stance. Lifting a brow at the idea and at the laughable position Ren was in he too took a stance. With his left claw holding his sword he decided to use his right wing to guard his body. His heavy feathers shielding his chest as he took a step toward Ren. “This is rather strange.” He laughed at himself as he gripped his sword a little harder. Taking another step toward Ren the male nodded towards him in an attempt to provoke the other to come closer. Hopefully it would work.
"Come on Ren, Come closer. I bet you won't even get a hit." He watched the red male as he flicked his tail. His whole body was tingling to move from the excitement. This was going to fun, so much fun.

Ren snickered not even caring that Seiki had teased him and did a little jump step towards him holding the sword in his right hand and wondering why he had his wing like he did. Ren was more worryed about damage to his wings then he was to his body. Not paying attention much of what was around him he quickly stumbled over a rock and went head over heals into Seiki trying as he went to poke him with the wooden sword.

Nida laughed when Ren provided the expected entertainment.
Kaliska flew over to make sure Ren and Seiki were ok. That crash didn't look like a good thing for either of them. With Nida laughing on the sidelines she felt a bit silly... hovering over them. She'd met a few of the other painters but so far hadn't struck up much conversation with anyone else. It was her right to be concerned about her friends.

But Aziraphael spotted something that caught her attention.
"Wait!" she nearly wailed, for she had spotted something. She waved her sword around with less enthusiasim than the gleam in her eye as she perceived something.
What is that? It had a pointy tip at the end, oh and danglies. Marvelous.
"Lets try a hand on those!" Aziraphael pointed excitedly. The spears seem to have just been waiting to be noticed. She put her ungainly sword away and picked up one of these. Gee it looked sharp. She ran a taloned finger along it.
"Ow," her face mushed into a twinge of pain. She had promptly cut herself. But she did like this weapon. Perhaps Charon would like to practice with these? Or try the different weapons together. There were certainly different advantages and disadvantages between the two weapons.

Untangleing him self from the mass that was him and Seiki and looked at Kaliska "of course im ok." he made as thoe to streach but really he was checking to make sure that was a true statement. Fluttering his wings he looked over Before something else caught his eye and trotting over he grabbed the spear, "oh now this is so much better then that wooden sword"

Kaliska landed and looked at the spear Ren was holding, "Well that is interesting. Are there any more?" She looked around and grabbed one for herself.
Nida approached though she looked at the spears with narrowed eyes, "Ren, are you sure you're ready for that, these points look sharp?"

"Well how about we test?" Ren's eyes glanced in Nida's direction as a small smile crossed his face. With a light laugh he started swinging it around like it was just a stick, not worrying about what he might hit. Taking a running jump he stabbed with it only to have it land with a thud in the dirt flinging him some 10 ft across the ground. Eyeing the Nida he cringed "Dont say a word."

Kaliska sighed. "I don't think words are going to be an issue..." She said dryly, while Nida rolled on the ground laughing so hard barely a sound escaped...

Shaking off Ren laughed "well at least you didnt say anything," walking back he yanked the spear outta the ground before coming to a stop at Kaliska's feet, "who knew training would hurt so much." crying Sighing he looked around the feild alittle depressed that he seemed to keep making a fool of him self. Course Nida seemed to be rather enjoying it. Maybe a bit to much for his liking but being rid of her wasnt going to be something Kaliska liked so he was stuck with her. Maybe she would fall in battle.
((Nothing ever goes his way))
