Why did he keep asking her the same thing? Tina wondered if there was something cult-ish about his ways.. "Well yeah, what's so weird about wanting to see your little poses? I know they are important to you, but they are just simple poses." Or if they weren't, she wanted to be proven wrong, since Raphe was clearly passionate on the subject.
"I can see what you mean, the water has that wonderful quality about it." She peered in at her own reflection, and stuck her tongue out in delight. When her goofiness was settled, Tina returned her gaze to the male, before backing herself up a bit so she could watch him from all angles.
"Alright, I am ready when you are." She then said, with an impish grin. She was sorta excited, since she wanted to see how passionate Raphe was about it. Tina enjoyed seeing friends and family doing something that they loved, so Raphe was definitely a sight to see!

With all his minor doubt settled, Raphe nodded in understanding. "Okay, I'll tell you everything I know if you want." He swished his tail only once before starting into his lesson on prettiness as he saw it.
"I don't think being pretty isn't entirely about what colour your coat is or that kind of thing. I think a lot of it has to do with your posture, and little things you can do to look prettier. When you walk, it looks nicer when you extend your legs gracefully, and place your feet instead of just letting them fall wherever." He demonstrated, applying those skills to an elegant walk in a small circle in front of Tina.
"It helps to hold your head up so you look confident instead of uncertain, but not too high or you look snobbish. And expression is important too. Like being attentive, others like it when they can tell you are really, really focused on them." He nodded with a bright smile to punctuate his words, and waited to see if his friend had any questions or things to respond with. Hopefully she would understand, being pretty was so much more than just being clean and well-groomed.

Tina blinked as she watched the male, though she found it hard not to question his masculinity. Maybe all of this would make more sense when he was bigger, since at the moment, Tina wasn't seeing the lessons and skills collide with that of a foal. Either way, she enjoyed the way he walked, and found that he looked better in many ways. "I can already tell it makes you look taller too." she then added, before awaiting his next lesson.
She could only giggle though at his next set of words, before bringing her eyes on him again. "Well, I tend to be focused on anyone I talk to, so are you saying you fake it sometimes?" Her grin was wickedly playful, as if she had just unlocked a secret from Raphe. "I guess you aren't someone who enjoys being focused on others, and it is just yourself?" That could have worked too.. since Raphe DID want to make himself stand out the most.
"Pft, I really can't tell with you!" Or maybe she was thinking too hard about his personality? Bleh, oh well. Her confusion was keeping her entertained, so that was hilarious enough!

Raphe grinned. "Really? It's hard to tell with the angle of the stream, but it would be good to look taller too." He seemed truly pleased that all his practicing had beneficial effects he hadn't noticed himself.
Instead of responding defensively to Tina's 'accusation', he just laughed. "No, it's not about faking it, it's about making sure to really show it. I could be listening and not look like I'm listening, but that wouldn't be nice at all. If I'm really being attentive there's no reason not to show it." His own smile took on a similar expression as hers, with just a hint of mischievous enjoyment. "But others are more likely to pay attention to me if they know I'll pay attention to them too."
The flash of an ulterior motive was gone almost as quickly as it appeared, and Raphe turned back to the pond with his usual pleasant smile. "I don't know if this next thing is so much about being pretty, as just knowing how to show it off. I like to stand in the sun, because it really lights up my coat, and when I'm standing around somewhere I keep my weight shifted so whatever movement I make next will be fluid and graceful. I don't even really think about it anymore, I've practiced it so often."

The colt DID have a good point! Treating others as you would want to be treated yourself! "If you look at it that way, then that really is smart indeed." she then added, since her curiosity always brought other's attention. Attention was a give and take scenario, so Tina completely understood the colt's knowledge.
At his next lesson, she only reassured herself that Raphe was seriously obsessed! "Hehe, as much as I find this interesting, I don't see how this is a way of life for you. There are other things you know.. but hey, like I said before, we all have our own ways of living life!" And thank goodness for that! "I am glad you showed me some examples though, I feel like I have a better idea of what you are talking about." And that was always good.. so she was thankful.

"Thank you for letting me show you, even though you still don't see the point." Raphe practically beamed. Somehow he had managed to get away with all his preening without developing an unhealthy arrogance, so his gratitude was heartfelt.
Perhaps he was enjoying the encounter so much because she gave him enough attention to make up for the lack of agreement between their principles. Or maybe it was the difference in principles itself and the discussion that he was enjoying. But still... "So what do you do and what do you think about instead of being pretty? I think about it a lot, but I suppose if I didn't I would have to find other things to think about." Raphe looked almost a little concerned about that thought, living a life where being pretty didn't matter so much. It was almost scary, how would he get others to like him if being pretty wasn't important?

"I worry about others." she then said, rather directly. "I don't have time to worry or think about myself." Her family was rather humongous, and she did have a responsibility to them. "But besides that, I just take in my surroundings I guess." She shrugged, before walking herself over to a nearby tree. "We all have things that are important to us, so yeah." Tina was getting tired of thinking about it, since she couldn't flaunt around all day and 'be pretty'. She had a sister who did that, and it drove her sort of nuts.
"Well, I think that is enough pretty lessons for today." she then said, while bringing a nod on her face. "Thank you for showing me everything and playing." She bowed her head lightly, before bringing her eyes back on Raphe. "I really had a nice time. I hope you did too!" She wasn't as interesting as him, and she sorta felt bad for that... She found that as a theme among her family.

Raphe's head tilted ever so slightly. He didn't have many others to worry about, it was just him and his mother. He worried about her sometimes, but she never seemed to need enough worry to occupy all of his practice and thinking time. But right then just thinking about worry sent a nagging little thought through his mind. Hopefully he hadn't been gone too long, he should probably go home too.
His bright smile returned. "I really had a lot of fun, and I'm glad to know what playing with a sister would be like." Even just thinking about it made him feel all warm and happy inside. "Maybe we can play again sometime? I don't mind if you beat me in a race again."

"That would be fun!" she then added, with one last smile to the colt. It would be interesting to see what he would grow up like, and Tina would most definitely find him for beauty tips! "But until then, its time for me to go home. Thanks for the good time, Raphe!" And with that, the filly bounced off towards her home, while looking back and smiling one last time to Raphe. She had so much to tell her family now since the encounter was an interesting one! Tina learned a lot about the colt, but also a lot about herself. She would have to thank him someday!

"Goodbye!" Raphe called after her, standing and swishing his tail slightly as he watched her leave. It was strangely saddening, but he knew he would probably run into her again sometime. So it wasn't like she was gone forever. He grinned back when he saw her look back, and then turned around and started off to his own home. His mother would probably be happy to hear he had made a new friend.
