Daemon's thoughts were suddenly broken as a women nearly fell into the sea. His hand had flown up by reflex and had caught her lightly. "Its no problem." He said letting go of her as soon as he felt she was properly on her feet.

Valicine walked on the dock, looking out at the water. She sighed, her brown hair dancing in the cool breeze. It had been a few days since her last meal and she needed to feed soon.

Miya blushed as he caught her, steadying her.
"I..um..uh-nevermind."
She shook her head, trying to make sense of the noise, the thoughts of everything around her overwhelming her.
Lost of self-control she had to sit, in fear of falling into the sea.
Dizzy, she held her head in her hands, tears flowing silently down her cheek.

Daemon sniffed lightly as she sat down. "Human.." He said quietly to himself. He had an odd ability to know what someone was by their smell as every race had their own unique sent that seemed to follow them everywhere. Sensing that she was upset he crouched down next to her and looked over at her with his slightly glowing red eyes. "Umm..Whats the matter?" He wasnt used to talking to other people, especially women. He normally kept to himself and stayed out of other peoples affairs when it came to personal things.

Miya ran her fingers through her hair, the headache pulsing in her head as strong as a thousand knives.
She chuckled bitterly.
"Life and the deck I've been given. At the current moment it's everyone's thoughts racing through my own head."
She looked up at him in time to catch his skeptical look.
"Like how you're uncomfortable talking to me, because you aren't used to talking to women, especially about their problems."
She sighed softly, wrapping her arms around her knees.

Valicine sat down at the edge of the dock, dangling her feet off the edge. She hummed a tune, thinking of what it felt like to be human in this age...

Daemon's eyes opened wide in surprise. It wasnt often that he met someone who could so easily read his thoughts. "So...your a mind reader then?" He said his voice becoming a little more relaxed. He then began to clear his mind as he sat there. He wanted to make sure that she would not be able to look further into his mind to discover what he actually was. Most people, human or otherwise, didnt particularily approve of his kind being on this side of the ether.

Miya laughed softly, stretching out, sitting with her legs straight out.
"You needn't try so hard to conceal yourself from me. Am I running?"
She made referance to his...way of living. Killing people.
"Sitting next to someone who lives so simply. It's...as easy as breathing."
She smiled softly, looking down into the water.

"Sorry, I am vastly paranoid when it comes to people who can listen in on my thoughts." He sat fully down letting his legs hang over the side of the dock. "So.." He wasnt sure what to say after that. He never was good at talking to people.

Miya looked down, ashamed.
"I didn't mean to. But...it's just tonight. I lost all control after I realized what little life I had on my own."
She scooted closer to the dock's edge, so she could hang her legs over it.
"I'm sorry, you probably don't want to hear my incessant ramblings..."

"No its alright. I have nothing but time on my hands currently." He said trying to sound as sympathetic as he could. "We all have bad days.." He shrugged a bit as he sat there.

Miya nodded.
"Some more than others..." she spoke softly.
She looked at him, observing the stillness of his features.
"What are you doing here? Alone?" She asked curiously, trying to make conversation.
There was something about him that made her want to get to know him legitimatly.

"Hm?.. Oh well nothing really. I had just completed an assignment and had wound up here afterwards." He said looking out at the water before him. "I've always been alone." He said his tone shifting from its normal unemotional sound, to a slightly sad one that indicated that he wished other wise.

Against her instinct, Miya placed a hand gently on his.
"You don't have to be alone...if you don't want to be."
She bit her bottom lip, nervous to his reaction, but not regretting her movements.

He paused as he felt her touch on his hand. His mind froze in that instant, he had never been in contact with anyone, outside of killing someone so he wasnt sure what to do next. "True.." The word fell out of his mouth as he sat there.
