That sounds like no fun at all. I hope things work out for you--I couldn't imagine going through life without guard.

I remember that huge black leg-thingymabobber that made you walk all funny xd Gotta love Bribri @Squawk: Don't listen to her moaning wink She still came to all the practices and was allowed to play as long as she didn't do any drill or lower-body work. Not that she did. lazy ho xd Anyway, today I (basically) scraped all the skin off of my toes/the balls of my feet. Apparently they had turned into one giant blood blister (well, two, one for each foot) and I didn't notice until I took my shoes off and the skin covering the blisters came off with them D= I can't walk. neutral

I was doing Sabre work, and my Sabre broke, so I had to grab The emergency sabre. Well, one of the guard girls is really jealous that I get all the solos, and she had sharpened the emergency sabre. So I was doing work with a sharpened sabre, and i got this cut on my forearm, that was so bad that I had to go to the hospital after the performance, and spent a week in a mental ward because they thought I cut my arm myself!!!! gonk

wow thats...interesting (kina like the rifle wound to the head on like page 1 or 2)
my injurys are nothing cool, wacks to the head (once during a prefomance xd ), falling on pants that are too long, the normal stuff...
the good story come from my aunt who was marching with the Emerald Marquis winter guard (in like the early 80's), they where doing a sabre toss where one girl threw the sabre to the girl across from her in a circle, the girl tossing to my aunt tossed it toward the stands instead, so to stop it from hitting anyone in the crowd my aunt caught it with her face sweatdrop there was blood all over her mouth and shirt afterwards

XD
During tryouts on Saturday for WinterGuard, me, my older sister, Bunny (longest spinner in the guard), and one of my best friends, Kimber, were just spinning the sabres to see if we could make sabre line. I hate sabres, I'm a rifle, and it was, like, my second time spinning one, Bunny has her own, although she's never spun one during a competition, and Kimber was spinning for her very first time. So, Michael (instrcutor), taught us our basics, and alittle bit of a routine, including a quad. "Okay girls, toss a quad." I tossed one okay, ish. I mean, I spun rifle, so i knew it wouldn't take some much arm strength. Bunny tossed eprfectly, sicne she's played around with it before. But, Kimber over estimated the muscle-ness, and rainbowed it like all hell, and it came crashing down on Bunny's head. She feel to the floor on her knees, hands to her head. She took her hands away from where she was hit, and blood literally poured EVERYWHERE. her and I FREAKED. She had four staples, a minor cuncussion, right on her head, right above the hairline. However, when our toher isntructor called the ER or whatever, they thought it was a prank phone call. "YES! SHe got hit with a sabre!" ANd then we took pictures with her bleeding profusely in a hgue group. Amazing.
~~~~~
And, I have a gorgeous bruise on my arm from a trick toss with a sabre. I had to push her outta the way to retrieve her six. The only time she tossed it wierdly, my arm decided it wanted to catch it.
I have pictures! XD
Not my injury, but at prelims in Dayton this year my friend Megan twisted her ankle about 20 seconds into our show. She kept going for the whole show, then practically collapsed afterwards.
