I decided to take on the Pokemon League at the Indigo Plateau for a change of pace. I have a level 64 blastoise named Splash, so I figured that it would be worth my while.

As a result, after beating 2 Pokemon, Exeggutor leveled to 26.

I am facing the first of the Elite Four. Her name is Lorelei and she uses water and ice based Pokemon. The best to use against her is en electric type, but since I do not have that in my party, I am going with my water/dark Pokemon.

Lorelei cannot do much damage to me unless she uses a psychic move, which she might just use with the Jynx she has in her party.

I have defeated one dewgong of hers and one cloyster.

A dewgong is strictly a water pokemon that can use ice moves, and the Cloyster is a water rock type, I think... I don't own a cloyster yet. So I am guessing on the second type.

I know a Cloyster is not a pure water or pure ice Pokemon.

Oops! I did not defeat her cloyster yet. I defeated her Dewgong and a Lapras, which a Lapras can learn Psychic moves.

Ooh, her last Pokemon that she owns is a Slowbro. If Lorelei starts acting like an elite four and not some Jessie of Team Rocket look-a-like, she might just beat my Blastoise.

...Just as I thought, Elite Four Lorelei is nothing more than a Jessica from Team Rocket wannabe.

Upon beating Lorelei, my Exeggutor is now level 27. I gained 5400 Poke-dollars from beating her too.

Sweet!

The second of the Elite Four of the Indigo Plateau is a dude named Bruno. He uses fighting type Pokemon. I could be in trouble since fighting moves are super effective against the dark side of my Blastoise.

OMG! Bruno kind of looks like Broly! Ha ha!

His first Pokemon was an Onix, a Rock/Ground type. Easy! Water moves destroy that thing!

Yawn! This guy's beginning is like the intelligence of Broly.

Next up... Hitmonchan. The punching Pokemon. I believe Hitmonchan is supposed to be the Pokemon form of Jackie Chan, but...I could be wrong.

2 hits and Hitmonchan is done. He used Sky Uppercut on Blastoise...ugh... how easy is this going to be?

Next... Hitmonlee. This Pokemon is famous for kicking. I wonder if this Pokemon is Bruce Lee, but in Pokemon form?

Finally a fighting move used against me. A Mega Kick. But... this Pokemon cannot surf. Hitmonlee is down with two surf moves.

Next Pokemon... Machamp. Now this Pokemon could mean trouble.

Machamp can only be obtained through trade. By trading with a friend something for a Machoke...Bruno must have a friend that he swapped a Pokemon for a Machoke in order to can this Pokemon.

Machamp is famous for having 4 arms and its lifting capabilities. But, can it surf? Maybe... nope! Down in two again!

And... Exeggutor levels again. Level 28.

I wonder what Bruno's final Pokemon is going to be?

Onix. OMG, this guy does have the intelligence of Broly!

5600 Pokedollars earned.

Now to the third of four fighters.

Old Lady Agatha. She uses Ghost Pokemon.

First up... Gengar. Gengar is a Ghost type Pokemon for sure and is the fully evolved form of Gastly.

The only way to obtain a Gengar is like the Machamp. Through trade and the friend's pokemon must be a Haunter without holding an everstone.

An Everstone prevents evolution.

Lets see if a Gengar can withstand a surf attack.

Down in two. Oh I am such an idiot! Ghost types cannot withstand dark moves. I should therefore use bite on Ghost types and get this one done quickly.

Golbat is second. Golbat is a flying/poison Pokemon. Interesting choice. Using bite would have little effect on it.

However, like so many Pokemon before it, it cannot surf.

Exeggutor is now level 29. Sweet!

Arbok is next. Hmm... that's a Poison type too. I wonder if I mixed the types of Pokemon Agatha uses. She is using mostly Poison types.

Psychic moves would have been best.

And my water pulse move to confuse Arbok worked. I used a Water Pulse and surfing combo to get rid of it.

This is embarrassingly easy.

A second Gengar. Now I shall use bite.

As I thought. Dark moves are super effective against Ghosts.

There goes Pokemon number 4 of Agatha's. Now for the 5th and final Pokemon she owns.

Blastoise leveled! He is now level 65. Awesome!

And another easy one. Haunter. Haunter, like I had said before is a pure ghost type Pokemon. Using bite will finish it.

OMG! It committed suicide! Ha ha! Agatha is done now!

Exeggutor is level 30.

Yes, I have experience share set to Exeggutor. This way he can gain experience while my Blastoise gets to have some fun. And Blastoise is having fun wiping the floor with these Elite four.

5800 pokedollars earned from her. The last of the Elite four is...

Lance the Dragon trainer.

First up... a trickery! Gyrados is not a dragon-type. Its a water/flying type. Electricity would finish that one in a single hit. But darn it, I have Blastoise to fight this chump. Its going to be more difficult than I figured.

Whoa! I killed it with a Bite/Hydro Cannon combo! Sweet!

Second is a dragonair. Dragonair is the evolved form of Dratini. While this is not the most powerful of the Dratini evolution set, it can be tough.

Using dragon moves would be handy, but I have none. So, I wonder if it can surf. Yep. Not very effective.

Maybe biting it would help. Yep. It did. Bonus that Dragonair confused itself by using Outrage too many times.

Outrage is the same as using Thrash and Petal Dance. Use it too many times in a row and it confuses the Pokemon that used it. Ha ha!

Now for the second dragonair that Lance has. I will try a Hydro Cannon, though it won't be that effective.

Darn it! Missed!

There we go. It wiped out most of Dragonair's HP. Unfortunately that was the last of the Hydro Cannons.

So, I will use bite and finish it. There goes the last of the bite move of my Blastoise.

I have only surf and Water Pulse left to use.

Dragonite! The dragon flying type and the evolved form of Dragonair.

Here is some interesting tidbit, a dragonair must be at least level 55 to change into Dragonite. Dragonite is likely Lance's most deadly of Pokemon.

And its using outrage. Its gonna confuse itself!

Ha ha! Dragonite confused itself!

Lance is relying on Outrage too much and therefore he is hurting his pokemon by doing so. What an idiot!

Lance's final Pokemon was an Aerodactyl, which is a rock/flying type. Easy to defeat with a water move.

And so, the elite four is done. Now to face the Champion to become champion.

I got 6000 pokedollars for beating Lance.

Windra, my rival is the last battler. I must face him if I am to beat the first half of the game.

He has 6 Pokemon like me. Now, let us see what he has, shall we?

First up... Pigeot.

Pigeot is a Normal/flying type. Best moves to use against it would be electric and ice, but sadly, I have neither of those to use. So, lets see if Pigeot can surf.

And my surf has been used up. I only have water pulse left.

Pigeot is gone with my combo.

5 left to defeat.

Venusaur is next. Venusaur is a grass/poison type. Damn, I might lose this one.

And he used Solarbeam, my Blastoise fainted.

Grr...

Now I am using an Arcanine. Arcanine is the evolved form of Growlith. It is a fire type pokemon, so if I can last... I can burn this poisonous plant of a Pokemon.

I am using flame wheel against it. Venusaur is readying Solarbeam.

And he took my Arcanine out!

Aww!

Now I am going to use a Raticate. Raticate is a normal type Pokemon, and a level 36... I might get a move in there.

I did, and I revived my Blastoise just in case.

Now I am going to use Fearow. Fearow is a dark flying type pokemon.

Shoot, I was only able to get in an aerial ace. But, I did revive my Blastoise, so, maybe I can beat Venusaur now with water pulse.

Nope. So now I am going to use Vaporeon. Vaporeon is a normal water based Pokemon... its risky, but...I am hoping.

Yes! I confused it! I used water pulse with my revived Blastoise.

My last Pokemon... Exeggutor. I hope all that leveling I did helped.

Not quite. I lost to Windra.

I think I will replace one of my weaker Pokemon like Vaporeon (level 25) with a strong Pokemon that I have in my inventory.

Aww! My strongest is a level 44 Arbok. That won't do. It looks like I have to level the pokemon I currently have in my party.

Taking on the elite four was worth it for experience points, so I think that is what I am going to continue doing.
PostPosted: Tue Apr 19, 2011 5:00 pm

Okay, I think its only fair that you know what exactly I am training. My goal is to get all my current Pokemon up to level 100.

The first Pokemon I have been training is a Blastoise that I nicknamed Splash.

Splash is currently level 67 out of 100. For those of you who are mathematically impaired (can't do math worth a hill of beans), that means Splash must gain 33 levels before he is fully grown.

Next up in my current party, is a level 36 Magneton. Unfortunately, I didn't nickname this Pokemon.

I must find that name rater...which Kanto region town is he in?

When I find the name rater, I am going to nickname my Exeggutor. The new name he'll have is Tequilla. For if you have too many Tequilla, you probably look like a dancing coconut.

I checked Fuscia City and all that I found there was the Move Deleter, the Safari Warden, and Bill's family.

I guess I have to check Cinnabar next.

Nope, the name rater is not on Cinnabar Island. On Cinnabar Island, there is:

The Pokemon Mansion
Blaine's the Fire-type Pokemon gym
A Pokemon Center
A Poke' Mart
And the Pokemon Lab

Okay, now to make it back to Pallet Town.
