Maxwell stooped for the bird and reached out for his wing at the same time, thoughtfully fanning out one of the red feathers. He tilted his head up to brush his ears past Triane's talons, and asked :
"Can I ni -"
A little tan blur cannoned into his legs and knocked him out of Triane's grasp and his grasp on Triane, felling him with an undignified thump. He looked down and snarled.
"Oh. It's you."

Philomena giggled a bit at the strange touch of talon-fingers on her ears, but it certainly wasn't unpleasant. Just a little different. She had to muffle a squeal of glee when Triane said it was all right to touch his feathers--after all, he was the first Hyte she'd seen with them. And her mother wouldn't let her anywhere near normal birds, for some reason...
Shyly she extended a paw and brushed the outstretched feathers, squeaking a bit in surprise at how soft and smooth they were. "They're so pretty," she marveled with a smile. And only then did she notice Maxwell's undignified position, stifling laughter with her other paw. Lastly did she noticed the peculiar identity of Maxwell's "attacker".
"Oh! The lion Hyte! He's kinda cute," 'Mena said thoughtfully. "Hey, little kitty~ You're an excitable one, aren't 'ya?"

Triane ruffled his feathers, a bit, nodding his head at Io. Afterall, he enjoyed the attention. Rustling his fingers on Maxwell's ears, Triane let out a slight 'Oh' of suprise and awe. They were incredibly soft, just as Mena's were. The fascinated little bird's observation, however, was cut short as something zoomed past him, narrowly missing full on contact with his waist and crashing into Maxwell.
It took Triane a couple seconds to register what had happened. Staring at the strange golden animal and Maxwell, tangled with each other, Triane beamed a smile. He figured it just wouldn't be very polite to laugh, but the scene in front of him was too... 'cute' for him to not to react to it.
