So does every theory; that's what makes them theories and not laws.

Cap'n, have I told you that you pick my brain MUCH too often? lol

Perhaps Adam and Eve were the first real humans (as we know humans to be today), who had the full mental and emotional capacity to reflect and worship God. Evolution doesn't have to exclude God. 3nodding

Ah, the voice of reason. xd

Though I have one simple answer for this thread... Christians CAN'T disprove evolution. It's that easy. We can't. How would you even begin? Start hiring your own scientists to argue the age of the earth, find something that proves all these "missing link" skeletons were their own, distinct species versus the connectors between human and ape? If you're arguing with science, you need to use science to prove yourself. And you know what? On this issue, the deck is pretty well stacked against anyone who wants to undertake this issue. Why must Christians think that science is the enemy? Science should help PROVE YOUR FAITH, not destroy it.

I have to agree but I must admit it that evolution has it's flaws.

So does every theory; that's what makes them theories and not laws.

Incorrect; theories and laws are two completely different creatures. Contrary to popular belief, scientific laws are no more valid than scientific theories.

No, but she implied that laws are inherently more valid than theories, as if laws are the "step up" from theories, so to speak. This is untrue.

Or we could open our eyes, see that evolution is real and start showing others how God and evolution are compatable.

If you want to do that, I would show non-believers first.

Um...sorry, what? You mean show non-believers that God and evolution are compatilible?

Yeah, because they need it most.

Why would we care?

Contrary to popular belief, evolution is not the reason the vast majority of atheists are atheists. Christians whining about it just amuses us because we don't even see why it's such a big deal. Although it also disturbs us a bit, since we find it a sad testimony on society when a significant portion of the general public doesn't believe in something as basic and fundamental as evolution.

The pastor at the church I went to last week had his whole sermon on this very subject. I found it nicely done. I couldn't compile my opinion into debate form at the moment, but I personally believe in evolution and the Bible's creation story. They are not incompatable, unless you decide to take "day" as "day." stare

It seems to us that a significant portion of the population does believe in evolution. Hmmm. . . that's strange. I think it's more like 50-50 now.

It's not even close to 50-50...Especially if you include nations outside the U.S.. The whole rejection of evolution due to religion is pretty much exclusive to the U.S. and Iran.

Personally I think it's more important for us to get out own views straight, than to go and tell other people. I'll tell atheists if they want to listen. But I'd rather my fellow Christians learnt how to read the Bible while using their brain.

Also, faaaar more than 50/50 people believe in evolution.
