Standing up, Diego saw Nick begin to pull himself up by aid of the nylon-coated, wire ropes that surronded the ring. Sprinting in Nick's direction, Diego went to clothesline Nick so that he would go up and over the top rope and fall to the hard concrete below.

Nick was tired, and there was no way he could keep going at this rate, his upper body was forced over the top rope, and his head connected with the hard concrete floor below, a nasty cut opening up on the back of his head. His eyes closed, pain shooting through his body.

Diego was about to go after Nick, who lay broken on the cement floor, when the ref put an arm to a chest, signalling that he had to give Nick some space. Rolling his eyes, the former champ took a couple steps back, leaning against the ropes while the ref began to count for Nick to get into the ring.

(Meh we can find another oppertunity...)
Nick reached his hand to the back of his head and pulled it away, blood covered his finger tips, and he sat up slowly. Completely unaware of the refs counting, the fans screaming for him to get back in the ring, or Diego ready to continue the match, all he could see was the blood on his finger tips.
"Six... Seven..."
Nick's attention was back on, he pushed himself up to a standing position.
"Eight... Nine..."
He scrambled to get back in the ring.
"Te..."
Nick was laying on the mat panting, the count broken. He smiled at Diego motioning how close it was to being over, but not close enough.

A small smirk played across Diego's lips at Nick's gesture and clapped his hands together a couple times, showing his approval of the determination to not lose this match. Staying in his own corner, Diego was going to wait for Nick to climb to his feet. However, he would be going for the DKO soon, since the back of Nick's head was already injured.

Nick slowly got to his feet and his eyes slowly focused on Diego, he got into a low to the ground shoot fight position so he could protect himself.

Bouncing from toe to toe, Diego began to bounce about the ring, circling Nick before offering a tie up, which he would quickly try to manipulate to a DDT to go back to work on Nick's head and neck.

Nick went for the tie up, and when Diego locked in the front face lock position, Nick shifted his weight down onto his knees trying to break the hold at the finger tips.

Before Diego could lean back and hit the DDT, Nick had gone down onto his knees and had caused Deigo's fingers to pry apart, releasing the super star from the hold. Thinking quickly, Diego attempted to give Nick a swift boot to the ribs before attempting to grab what hair the man had and whip him backwards towards the mat. Cheap, yes; effective, definatly.

Nick is caught in the ribs, and when the back of his head connects he instinctively reaches back the blood still trickling out of the back of his head. He grimaces, trying to keep the pain out of his mind.

"TIME TO GO BIG!!!!" Diego yelled before attempting to grab Nick and haul him up onto his knees. He would then put the superstar in a power bomb position before attempting the big time bomb. (Jumping 360 power bomb + pin)

Nick put allof the muscles in his back, neck, and shoulders to work trying to deliver a back body drop to Diego.

"Oh s**t!" Diego yelled as he was lifted high by Nick standing up, and then once gravity began to do what it did best, Diego plumetted downwards towards the matt quickly. Colliding with the canvas with a hard thud, Diego could feel the wind once more escaping his lungs. Gasping for breathe, Diego tried his best to recover quickly so that he could stay in control of this match up.

Nick got up quickly and turned around and going for a running baseball slide to Diego out of the ring.

Diego, whom was still stunned from the big back body drop, was hit in the side with the base ball slide. Rolling out of the ring, Diego hit the concrete hard, rolling against the security railing and looking up into the ring, a pained expression on his face.
