Blizzardpaw sprinted up behind her and nodded happily.
Yes! He was finally going to learn how to battle! Just waking up this morning he knew it was going to be a good day.
So, where are you gonna train me? he mewed as they walked out of the ThunderClan camp. It was begining to snow again.

"We are going to the training hallow." replied Icestar leading the way out of camp. She looked over at her apprentice, who was staring ahead, eyes wide with wonder. Icestar shivered as the two cats entered the hallow and the new snowfall landed on her pelt.
Blizzardpaw seems so determined...I know he will become a fine warrior of this Clan.
"Okay," she said, facing Blizzardpaw on the opposite side of the hallow, "Attack me. Keep your claws shealthed." she warned

Blizzardpaw nodded his air suddenly became more serious. If there was one thing he didn't want to do, it was upset Icestar.
Cauciously, but never taking his eyes away from his master, he circled around her trying to gauge his distance and determine the best way to attack.
Without warning, he leaped at Icestar in a leap-and-hold attack, aiming for her back. He let out a snarl as he flew through the chilly air and snow.

Icestar was startled by the apprentices' speed, but she was ready. She countered the move with a drop-and-roll, softly swiping her paw at Blizzardpaw. "That was fast," She complimented, "But I've seen you move faster. Try again!" She growled playfully.

Spicepelt sighed. "I'l go back to camp." She turned aorund, headed back to camp. "I don't know what to do..." She mewed to herself.

Blizzardpaw got up from the snow and shook himself off and charged once again headed straight at Icestar.
Hopeing to take her off gaurd he leaped over her and, useing one of the trees behind her, kicked at the trunk with his hind legs and sent himself flying back at her from behind!
His teeth were bared as he tried laching onto Icestars ear.

Icestar was stunned. She had never seen a move like this and he had clearly tricked her! She rolled over kicking Blizzardpaw lightly and scrambled to get up. "Well done!" she exclaimed. "Not in any of my years in ThunderClan have I ever seen a move quite like that!" Icestar shook the snow off her pelt and padded over to Blizzardpaw. "You've trained hard today, and tomorrow, I will teach you something new. But todays' training session has ended." She gently rested her tail on Blizzardpaw's shoulder. "Let's go back to camp," she mewed.

Blizzardpaw felt his pride swell up in his chest and his fur felt electric from his battle with Icestar.
He stood up and followed behind Icestar as they started back for the camp when he picked up on a rustle in the nearby bushes.
Without bothering to tell Icestar he instinctivly crouched down into a stalking position following the sent of the thing in the bushes.
If it were a rabbit... he thought as he snuck up on the creature,
I would surely be praised. Besides, we need all the food we can catch!
Whatever it was, it stopped moving suddenly and Blizzardpaw took a leap at the chance. It was now or never!
The squirrel let out one heck of a loud dyeing squeek as Blizzardpaw finished it off and carried it in his mouth back to Icestar.
It really is a good say today! he stated happily.

Icestar watched as Blizzardpaw returned with his catch. "Well done! Your crouch could use some work, but all-in-all, it was a good preformance." she purred, her eyes gleaming with pride.
I wonder if our ancestors are watching him. He seems to have a special...gift.
"Come," Icestar said, turning towards camp "Let's go home."

It seemed like no time at all before they returned to camp. and when they arrived, Blizzardpaw placed his kill on the pile with the others. When that was finished he turned to his mentor.
What do you want me to do with the remainder of the day, Icestar? I could go out hunting again if you want me to. There doesn't seem like theres much to do around camp...

Icestar looked at her apprentice.
He doesn't get tired, does he? Great StarClan, he has been on his feet all day!
"Why don't you take a short break? Get something to eat, and rest your paws," ordered Icestar, making sure he obeyed. "Then after I will take you on your first hunting lesson." Icestar walked past her apprentice and grabbed a mouse from the fresh-kill pile and padded under Highledge to eat.

Two lessons in one day? Wow! Icestar must really see potential in me! Blizzardpaw thought to himself.
He too, grabbed a mouse from the pile. He figured that the queens would need the meat from the squirrel more than he would.
He ate quicker than he himself had anticipated and, after cleaning himself a bit, headed towards the apprentice nests to take a nap. He curled up and fell asleep quickly.

Icestar saw Blizzardpaw curl up in his den and Icestar felt like taking a nap also. But she is leader, there was no time for naps! She glanced around camp in hopes of seeing her deputy. She had been out training with Blizzardpaw all morning and haden't gotten a chance to talk with the orange-and-white she-cat.
