Gaddwick kept his eyes focused on his egg. It wouldn't be his first hatching but it would be the first time it was his Pokemon. Nurse Joy took a quick look over his egg. "Your's looks fine. Just a bit longer." A larger crack opened up around the middle. Joy turned to Jack's egg which wasn't quite as far along. The crack continued around Gadd's egg until it bisected the shell. The egg tipped over on the cushions and split in half.

Though half the eggshell remained on its head a the bottom half of a baby Happiny could be seen rolling on the cushion. Gaddwick helped the Pokemon remove the eggshell from its head so the Pokemon could see. The Pokemon looked upwards at Gaddwick as he smiled down at her. The Pokemon toppled over again as it lost its balance. Gadd gently scooped her up into his arms and turned to see how Jack's Pokemon was doing.

Happiny's eyes lit up looking at the glowing Pokemon and began squirming in Gadd's arms. All of this was very exciting to the baby Pokemon. Gadd simply held on a little tighter and watched Jacks 'Ricario' closely. Considering the Pokemon's record for unintentional damage Gadd felt some caution might be in order.

Gaddwick was more than a little off balance with the speaking Pokemon. Nurse Joy seemed a little stunned as well. He had known that certain Pokemon could talk. The Marsh Gym had, in fact, worked with the Cerulean Gym to try to get a Slowking to evolve but the project ended up moving at a speed befitting the Pokemon involved. The project eventually got abandoned. But this was something completely different. Lucario weren't known for speaking. At least not from what he had found. He felt he should say something but couldn't find the words.

((OoC: Now would be a good time to put limits on Ditto. It battles normally and can mimic almost any Pokemon. (Few exceptions such as Legendarys can have mimic form but not the Power level, ect.) If it mimics a person it cannot speak and people who know this person would be able to tell the difference but if they were strangers to each other then the differences would go unnoticed. Same thing for Partner Pokemon. Hopefully you weren't planning anything too crazy and this won't put a damper on your new Pokemon but there have to be some limits.))

Gaddwick force himself to talk even though Lucario still made him feel a bit tense. He decided to comment on the baby Pokemon first who was turning a tinge of Purple as it struggled to maintain its transformed state. "Ditto looks fine even though it looks like he is going to need a little more practice." He turned to the newly evolved Lucario and decided just to put it straight to the Pokemon even if his speech was as uneven and jittery. "This is... Well... rather awkward. I'm not sure if I should reintroduce myself or not. I suppose... Well... It's nice to meet you Lucario." He tentatively extended his hand forward for a handshake and hoped the Pokemon understood.

Gaddwick watched the transforming Pokemon. Looking at it made him uneasy like he had looked in a mirror but it wasn't his reflection. He looked down at his Happiny who struggled to look back up at him and smiled. A chime could be heard from the floor below and Nurse Joy quietly excused herself. "Well then. What's next? We could get in a little practice in before the next mission. Or do you have anything else in mind?"

"I'd agree that it would be good to practice that but I don't see a way to. Would you care to elaborate?"

"That might work there is a old office building pretty close that we could use but how about we make it a bit more interesting."

Gaddwick picked up a red and green marker from the desk and handed the red one to Jack. "When we get there I'll release Koffing into the building. Your goal will be to mark him with your marker before he catches you and sprays you with a dark ink. Don't worry it should wash out pretty easily. Other than that he will be allowed to create a smokescreen if he thinks you're close but otherwise he'll just be a target. If you try anything other than the maker on him you'll be disqualified. You have to hold it when you tag him too, you can't levitate or throw the marker."

Gadd gave a sly smile "And if you like we could make a wager on this. If I win you and Lucario have to help me find an Oval stone for Happiny." At the mention of its name the baby Pokemon squirmed in Gadd's lap. "And if you win I'll take you, Lucario, and Mineshadow to the Marsh Gym. I could try to get you into a lesson and maybe you could even try to earn the badge. So are you up for it?"

"I don't think so. Even if we find one, and the chances are slim how would we defeat it. Its good to have confidence in your Pokemon but hoping to go against something so powerful would be dangerous at best. Not to even mention the changes it might have on the environment if we removed an element that keeps it in balance. There's no way I'd do something like that."

"My offer still stands on going to Saffron but I'm not willing to do something crazy like that. Either way you shouldn't need the gloves just poke Koffing with the marker."
