Left there in shock, Andy stared at Seto wide eyed and confused as she watched him turn around and leave. Wait, just like that, two hours and they were going on a date? No exchange of numbers, no I'll see you next Friday, just a I'll pick you up in two hours? That fast, already? Andy didn't know if she could get ready for a date in two hours, but she didn't bother calling after him and saying otherwise. He was a difficult man, and Andy already had enough of him, arguing with him now over the time of date was just going to be a waste of time, she knew that. So with one last look, Andy quickly exited the museum and walked as fast as she can home to get ready.
As if Atem couldn't feel any more stupid than he already did, as soon as Sam yelled and stormed out of the room, Atem's heart jumped. How could he do that? He knew he shouldn't have said that, he knew he shouldn't push her too much, but he did. Why did he do that? He didn't receive any satisfaction from hurting her and bring her down more, in fact he felt worse every time. Atem felt everyone's eyes on him, of course everyone was staring at him if a woman just yelled at him, this didn't look good, but he didn't care. All he cared about was Sam, and he knew that if he didn't get up to do something then he would surely o crazy. Jumping out of his seat and throwing his napkin on the table, Atem ran after her without a second thought, not even knowing what to say. "Sam, wait!" He called out after her as soon as he exited the dining hall.

Seto had no time to waste. He needed to woo her quickly if he wanted to win this bet. But he had to be cautious and extra smooth on this date. She was pretty smart. He had never met a woman like her. She saw right through him and wasnt the slightest bit destracted by his wealth or sexyness. he somewhat admired this but it also gave him a problem with the bet. She wasnt as easily swayed or seduced. So how was he supposed to do this? He could always turn to threats but he didnt think she'd fall for that. He sighed once he was in his limo and heaidng home. He would process this further later. Now he had to get ready for this so called date. He showered and dressed in one of his best suits that made him look good and increadibly powerfull and rich. Usually the ladies fell head over heels for him in this so it should work. He added some cologne and was ready. He looked at his fancy watch and saw she still had a good amount of time before he would show up so he went to his office to get some work done. Once it was time to leave he chose to drive one of his multimillion dollar cars instead of taking a limo. On the way over he stopped by a shop and bought a large bouque of roses and then proceeded to her house. He rang the doorbell and waited.
Sam stomped out into the hall angrilly and pressed the button for the elevator. She clenched her teeth and quickly rubbed her eyes on her sleeve to get rid of the tears that were ready to fall. Of course it wasnt just over that last statement, it was over her entire life that Atem made her feel like was worthless. She felt like she couldnt do anythign right and she was starting to believe that she was a horrible duelist, sister and person. She crossed her arms with a huff. She heard Atem and glared back. "What? Have more to say? Cause I really dont care to hear it." She growled at him and got into the empty elevator as it opened, pressing the button for her floor.

(( Ugggh, you wont believe what happened, me and like 5 other people got chosen out of 300 to go on this escort detail. I had to go outside the FOB and drive around Iraq and Balad in a Humvee acting as bodyguard. At least nothing happened to me, but I was real scared, I had to stay in full battle gear and keep my M16 loaded at all times. At least it's over, and I got to fly once. ))
Rushing through the door and slamming it closed, Andy rushed upstairs quickly, throwing her purse on to the floor below as she ran up, just missing the table she meant to throw it on but didn't care enough to go back and pick it up. Two hours and he was going to be here? Can't he give a girl time to shower?? On the back of her mind lingered a couple questions, the big one being what was the big rush and why he was so eager to go out with her. But being in the rushed state she was in, she couldn't afford to sway off in her thoughts now as she ran to take a shower (which was cold), then blew dry her hair, which just naturally grew in to long waves. Keeping her hair down was fine tonight, usually she wanted a bun or a ponytail, but she didn't want to waste any more time. What would she rather be, dressed for her date, or made sure her hair was in a perfect ponytail? Obviously clothing was the priority.
Not knowing where they were going or how to even dress, Andy just decided on a knee-length flowy black dress, a gray, tight turtle neck long sleeve shirt underneath as it was cold, along with think, purple nylons along with gray heels. After slipping on a pearl necklace, Andy heard the bell ring, looking over her shoulder at her bedroom door. Was it already two hours? She knew it was, and her stomach unexpectedly twisted knowing who was behind the door. Sighing, Andy looked back over at the mirror and stared at her reflection for a second. She couldn't believe this was happening. Standing up and taking her time walking downstairs, Andy answered the door.
Relief washed over Atem as he saw that instead of storming down the hall or stairs, she opted for the elevator, which she obviously had to wait for. This was the one time Atem was glad she was a Kaiba and was use to her rich world, why go to something when it can come to her? Rushing over, a bit slower now that she was standing there waiting, Atem ran over to her side, not even thrown back at her angry retort of him chasing after her. He knew he heard what she said, but it didn't click with him as all he cared about in his mind was Sam and wanting to make her feel better. He didn't even notice the complete sudden change in him, he no longer cared what she thought and he no longer cared about hiding what he felt, that was all out the door as soon as she ran away from him. All bets were off for him.
Stopping, nearly out of breath after chasing her, Atem's face contorted with concern as he looked at her, holding back a craving to reach out and touch her and comfort her. She was crying, it felt like a spear just ripped through his heart as he took an intake of breath. He did all of this to her? This was bad, this was worse than he thought. "I wanted to see if you were okay," Atem did not hide back the concern and sincereity in his voice. "I didn't mean to say all that, or do this to you..." he trailed off, what else can he say to a girl that he made cry. His hand lifted towards her, wanting to brush her cheek, but he stopped suddenly and drew his hand back. "I'm sorry..."

(( eek oh wow, youre deffinately ok right? I was getting worried sweatdrop well Im glad youre back! biggrin oooo what do you mean fly? like in one of those cool jets where you get to sit in the back thing and its open or whatever heheh sorry I saw that on a commercial once it looked cool))
Seto put on a small smile, it was rather difficult for him to do. "Hey, youre actually ready on time..." he said since he expected to show up and her still be doing her hair or something. Seto was someone who always had to be on time. Which is another reason he didnt date. He hated standing around waiting for women. It was either them taking to long to get dressed or having to talk to someone for an hour before leaving some place. They were such a pain in the a**. But she was ready. Probably because she didnt think of this as a real date. At least she was dressed nice. She looked pretty cute too. But he wouldnt off that compliment because it was how he really felt instead of a lie. He offered the large boque of roses as he glanced behind her to see if her father was comming. He wondered if she even told him. He looked back at her.
Sam rubbed her eyes again, pretending to look tough as she glared over as he approached her. She knew he was going to really tell her off now, tell her how worthless she was. She believed it. She couldnt help but curse herself. If she just could have been good enough to defeat him in a duel she could show him that she wasnt worthless. She looked quite surprised when he said he was sorry. "Wh.... hu...eh... what? Youre sorry?" She said a bit skeptically as she looked him over. She wanted to believe him, to smile and apologize for all the things shes said as well. But she was stubborn and untrusting. "Well I dont forgive you. And I dont like you so get away from me!" she said angrilly. She was like a little girl, saying the exact oppsite of what she really meant because she was afraid of rejection.

Sarbetahi (( No, not on those xD or, not this time. I rode on one from Kuwait to Tikrit, but the back wasn't open. I just rode on a C-12, it was very small but very cool. ))
Not very surprising, Seto turned out to be the intruder behind the door, as Andy looked at him unfathomable as she stared at him for a long second. Animately looking down at the roses he offered to, Andy suddenly felt awkward. He was pulling out everything on her, from the start, she tried to believe he was sincere, but Andy couldn't hide her suspicions. Biting her lip, Andy took a hold of the roses and held it towards her like as if it was going to bite her. "Um... thank you..." the words sounded lame coming out of her mouth. "Just.. let me put this in water..." Andy paused, not looking at Seto but staring at the flowers like as if just throwing them away would be a better thing to do. Turning around swiftly, Andy walked with long strides towards the kitchen to grab an old vase and fill it with water. "Come in!"
Surprised and hurt at her words, Atem blinked and took a step backwards, staring at her in shock. When he pictured her after he had apologized, this was not what he had in mind. The thought that she had undeniable denied his sincere apology my his insides twitch with anger. His hands balled in to fist as he glared at her direction. That was what he got as a reply after he said he was sorry? However, he held back. Another part of him that, if taken over, had insulted her just again. But now, he couldn't lie to himself anymore. He was done with this stupid game they were playing with each others emotions. It wasn't worth it to hurt her any more or to make himself feel anymore guilty.
"Fine, that's your choice." Atem calmed himself down as his eyes relaxed and softened as he looked at her. "But, just remember that I am sorry."

Seto followed her with a sigh and a roll of his eyes once her back was turned. She was such a pain already. Couldnt she at least pretend to be a little happy to see him? And she wasnt stunned by his amazingly good looks in this suit! Not that he cared. He stuck one hand in his pocket and ran the other through his hair as he looked around. "Nice place." He said in a bored tone. He leaned against the counter as she got the water. It seemed her father wasnt home. Not surprising, he was rarely home himself.
Sam looked at him puzzled. No smart remarks? No insult? She blinked, mouth parted, unable to think of something to say at first. "Seriously? ... This better not be pitty..." She said threateningly. She stood with her arms crossed, looking very deffensive, like he would attack at anymoment and she had to be ready. She also seemed more confused then ever. She was never nice to anyone therefore no one was ever nice to her. She didnt understand.

Trying to ignore Seto as Andy reached up high for an eleborate, glass vase, Andy kept her eyes glued to the task as hand. The faster she did this, the faster they could go, then the faster the date would go, then thats when she can shrug this all off as an awkward night and screen his calls and make sure never to run in to him again. If that works. Trying to hide the sudden prickles and goosebumps she got as Seto spoke aloud, Andy cleared her throat as she filled the vase with water tried to carefully drop the flowers in there so they arranged into a random, perfect setting. "Um... yes! It is." She didn't know what to say, did she sound stuck up saying that? Why did she even care? "My parents bought it when I was kid when we moved from the United States..." After picking at the flowers some more, Andy grabbed the vase with both hands and placed it on some random table outside the kitchen near the stairs. "So, shall we go?" She asked, still not bothering to look at Seto.
Feeling insulted from having his intentions questioned, Atem tried to hold back an equally as defensive state as he stared back at her. He just kept thinking to himself, that he had to do something to change this, something had to change, he couldn't keep living with himself if he hurt her again. He was a bit shocked with himself at how strong he felt about hurting her, it was like he was hurting himself. He didn't know how this came to be, they were always enemies, they were always mean to each other, how did these feeling develop? Atem didn't know, nor did he care at the moment, all he cared about was Sam and making this right.
"Someone has to end this..." Atem started, trailing off as he slowly looked towards the floor. "And I've always really did feel bad about what I've said to you..."

Seto gave a nod and sighed. He was not looking forward to this. He just wanted to get this over with and win. He walked out to his nice expensive sports car and opened the passenger door for her like a gentleman. "How long did you lie in America for? Though he looked rather impatient. He had a wonderfull place in mind for their date, a nice restaurant by the ocean, a beautiful view and there was a hotel nearby if he really managed to win her over. Not likely at this rate.
"yeah right, I dont buy it..." Sam said, walking closer to him. "So whats with the act? Just geting fed up with me? Well you wont have to deal with me for long cause I'm going to beat you in our duel and steal your title!" She said, too stubborn and focoused on victory and success to see that he really did mean it.

Taking a step in to the car while trying to nonchalantly sidestep Seto so as to not make it obvious she wanted to stay far away from him, Andy got in the car and began smoothing out her clothes. "I lived in America only till I was four, then I moved to Japan, close to Tokoyo, because of my fathers business and my mothers research. We moved to Domino City five years ago... " Andy began speaking as Seto got in the drivers seat, looking straight forward awkwardly. She didn't know what else to say other than to answer his curious question truthfully. Not really feeling like talking, as she mostly didn't like idle chit-chat and never saw the real point, she didn't know how to really avoid it. The only thing she can do to make this so called "date" more pleasant was to talk to him. And if talking to him meant giving out how long she lived in America as a baby, then so be it. Maybe the more pleasant it is, the faster time will go, so as they are not sitting in awkward silence. "Um... I'm assuming you've lived in Domino City your whole life?"
Not helping but feel hurt that Sam still didn't believe it, and slightly annoyed that she was too stubborn to see that he has made a genuine effort to make peace with her. However, he saw not more than ever that his dream of finally getting along with her would never happen. He was foolish to think that things could be any different between them, and foolish to even try. They were enemies, nothing would change that. He had to suck up his feelings and guilt and move on, he had to forget about her. And the best way to forget about her would be to beat her in that duel. Yes, he felt more of a desire now than anything to beat her now. But most of her, the feeling he now tried to hide, it hurt him more that Sam did not return his feelings.
"Fine then," Atem said in a stubborn tone, now looking at Sam defensively right as the elevator door opened. Spinning around on his heel, Atem walked away from Sam, but not back towards the dinner. He didn't care about dinner now, Sam could go and join the festivities now. He had work to do.

Seto didnt answer for a minute. "I guess... I dont remember much from when I was younger. When my brother and I were adopted we moved into the Kaiba Mansion here in Domino." He had blocked out most of his past. He didnt even remember where the orphanage was or where he lived with his parents before then. He gripped the steering wheel a bit tighter. He decided to change the conversation. "I've been to America..." He was about to say that he hadnt met a single person from America that he could stand, Pegusus, Rebecca and keith comming to mind. "We're starting to build theme parks there." He said. He drove onto the highway since it took a bit long to get to their destination. He was speeding but didnt really care. He could afford any fine after all. He tried to think of a way to char her. Nothing had worked so far. For once in his life he didnt know what to do.

Mokuba ran out soon after as sam watched Atem leave. Her heart slowed down. She hadnt even realized it was beating so fast. She figured she muct just be pumped up for the duel. But she also felt an ache in her chest as she watched him leave. She had never really had a crush before, and wouldnt recognize the feeling, especially when blinded by stubborness.
"Hey sis! Arent you comming back in?" Mokuba asked, tugging on her sleeve.
"huh? Oh, no... I want to prepare by deck a bit more and get some sleep."
"But you didnt even eat anything! Come on this dinner is for you and Yugi! You have to be there!"
"No one will even notice..." She muttered and walked into an elevator to go back to her room.

(( Sorry I have not replied =( I really am. Things just got crazy over here. They switched me to a new shift, one with all guys, and they thought they could take advantage of me and have me do all the work. Which is what happened, I had to do everything for them everyday, I pretty much had to take in charge of our entire operations, I never had a break and they would always pick on me too because I was the only female. But finally I got so stressed out I begged my 1SG to get me put on 2 weeks leave back in the states as soon as possible, and they gave it to me. I just got back from my leave, and I got a new shift, so hopefully things will get better =).

At the mention of the word "adopted" Andy mentally cringed inside, but kept herself calm as she stared straight forward trying not to look phased by it. However, she couldn't get that out of her head, adopted? She didnt know anything about his past, but assuming his status she just assumed he was born and raised in a rich and snobbish family who gave him anything he wanted. But he was adopted? Him and his younger brother? Andy couldn't believe it, she was starting to get curious about this man, but as he changed the subject Andy tried to force it out of her mind. "Um, yea. Thats... cool. Theme parks, I like theme parks." Andy replied almost automatically, she had no idea what she just said, she could have been saying a recipe for blueberry muffins for all she knew, she still couldn't get what he said out of her head. But finally taking a deep breath and shaking her head she turned towards him "I'm sorry, you said you were adopted?"
Entering his room and slamming it shut, Atem growled as he tried to keep his emotions under control, his eyes wildly looking around the room. He tried to feel nothing, but all he could feel was the pain that he was masking with his rage. He gave this hsi best shot, he really opened up to her, he actually did something for her that was meaningful. And what happened? She shot him down, all his hopes were shattered from her. She really did hated him, but why? He had hoped that she felt the same way he did, he never thought about it but in the back of his mind he had hoped that she was just as foolish as he was and just didnt know how to express her feelings. But no, all there really was was hatred for him.
And why did he like her like this in the first place? Why? He kept asking himself that as he sat down on his sofa and stared at his array of cards in front of him. He had to show her during this duel, he had to proove himself.

Seto hesitated, his lips in a tight line and his eyes a bit narrowed. "I'd rather not speak of my childhood any further..." He stated, keeping his eyes stright ahead. He didnt like to share much with anyone. He had already kind of forgotten what his goal was. To show her that he was generous. But how was he supposed to do that? He had never made somone fall in love with him. Well he had many people that loved his image but they didnt know the real him.
((maybe after dinner or soemthing Seto could get an emergency call from mokuba or soemthing, so Andy can meet Mokuba, that will kind of show her his good side))
((I cant think of much for Sam and Atem))
Sam paced around the elevator, glaring at anyone who tried to get on then therefore decided against being trapped in there with an angry Kaiba. She didnt want to go back to her room so she went to the dueling stadium. She walked out onto the field. It used to be that she couldnt even duel in front of a crowd. She would get too nervous and couldnt think stright or play any moves. Seto pushed her to be better, stronger, and face her fears. She remembered her first tournament that she won with flying colors. It felt amazing. Now she felt like a failure again because she couldnt be the best.

(( Thats the bad part about the army =/ a lot of females get harasses since only like 5% of the army is females, and if we tell anybody about it nothing gets done about it. But hopefully things will change. I just can't wait to get this deployment over with, 6 more months!!
And that sounds good =). Maybe for Sam and Atem we can jump forward a bit? I can't think to what though. But we are just sort of stuck for now as they are both alone. Maybe we can jump forward to like midnight or something and neither can sleep so they go for a walk and bump in to eachother? ))
Taken a back by his response, Andy pointedly stared at him in slight confusion at the response and some anger for acting like that. "Whatever," Andy said quietly as she looked away, looking out her window as if hoping that this date would end soon. She's never been on a date this strange before, he tried so hard at the museum to go on a date with her, then after she finally agreed he had to absolutely go on a date in two hours, and then he acts like this the entire time? Andy didn't know what to say or do, she barely knew this guy, but she knew he was very odd. She silently swore to herself that after this date she would never see him again. "You know, I don't get you, your a very strange person..." Andy broke the silence as she looked back over at him. "You just met me, you don't know me, but insisted on a date right away? And your acting very weird for being on a date..."
It seemed like forever, or was it a short time, that Atem sat there staring at his cards with a glare planted across his face. He tried to focus, but he couldn't, he was trying to come up with ways to beat Sam tomorrow at the tournament, but he couldn't concentrate. His mind always wandered back to Sam, thinking of how she acted towards him, and how he felt about her. He couldn't place exactly when these feelings started, maybe they were always there, or developed over a long time, he didn't know, he was just aware of them one day, but had decided to hide it behind his anger towards her. But why was he angry? Kaiba before was always competitive if not more towards him and have said and done things far worse than what Sam had done, but yet he never harbored any hatred for him, he was never angry at Kaiba like he was at Sam. So why her?
It was all confusion, it made his head hurt and it made him even more angry at all of it. though, he kept telling himself his anger was towards her, though he knew that long diminished soon after he entered his room. He was more angry at himself, for making himself a fool in front of her. How could he be that stupid?
