Xander walked home. he still had to start work on his newly destroyed generator, and he had work to do on his hoverboard. He walked into his lab and stepped up to his table, where the incomplete board sat. He didn't have much to do, so he decided to stay up and work on it.

Erin finished eating her dinner. She always made enough dinner for two because after she eat she would bring it to the old lady down the street. She packed it up in a basket and carried it out the door.

Xander was get his work done rather quickly for once. All that was left for the board was final assembly, so he worked carefully but quickly. If he finished before going to sleep, then he could take it for a test run before showing it to everyone else.

Erin was smiling as she left the old lady's house. But as soon as she walked outside she noticed it was getting dark quickly. She normally didn't mind the dark, but in this town, being outside at night made her hair stand on end.

It had been some time now since Xander had gotten home, and he finally finished the board. It was fairly dark outside now, so Xander decided that this might be a good time for a discreet test run. He carried the board outside, flipped a switch, and tossed it down. It immediately started floating, "Alright, stationary hover works." Xander jumped on and pressed a button under his right heel lightly, which made the board move forward. He applied more pressure and it went faster. "It works perfectly! Yeah!" He decided to get a little altitude and fly over the village.

After a short uneventful flight, Xander returned home. He placed the board near his door, locked up, and looked over the blueprints for his generator. After a quick look, he realized what had happened. He went to bed, knowing that he could fix the problem easily tomorrow and that it wouldn't be that much of a problem. He was also happy that another one of his inventions worked.
