you are forgeting how destructive they are for most of the units they would merely have to step on them and most likely they would because by the time u down the scarabs in front the ones behind them will probably be in squiashing range.

the Mac gun would be the solution but from what ur suggesting it wouldn't be the greatest help against fifty if its like the ion cannon that means its a special weapon which can only be fired once every 6 minutes or so and if they are spread out that would only decimate a fraction of their force

some other thoughts are would be they need to come up with some weapons to rival Covenant ground artilery and anti air batteries and I mean the implacements not the wraith versions those pac quite a wallop and we would need to pound the crap out of them before they disadvantaged us the if the Macs are like ion cannons they only serve limited help what would we use to take these plateforms out in fast order

Ok, can you list all of the different units for each faction, and say what their strengths and weaknesses are.

Z-O-M-B-I-C-I-D-E! SPELL MY NAME RIGHT! And according to what I've seen, you can only have 1 Scarab on the field at a time, similar to the Scrin Mothership in Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.

Scarabs are not that hard to destroy. You had to fight 2 at one time in halo 3. If you send 1000 Solders, and a few tanks at each one, they could board one and blow it up.

But remember, that was because you had a Hornet, and Halo Wars takes place before Halo: Combat Evolved, and Hornets weren't around yet. So, they should be tougher to destroy in Halo Wars, as the slow Pelican wouldn't be able to dodge a Scarab's attacks easily.

yeah pluse halo was first person this is not u can't physically do boarding here and if I'm not mistaken spartans may be in short supply if not extremely expensive in Halo wars so if u are using mainly marines and and pelicans don't count on a stellar victory u will need tanks and even then aot of them and the damage and building costs would be enourmous ur trying to shrug it off and make it sound easy when its not

You know, I really don't think a Halo spin-off is necessary. To be honest, I don't think Halo Wars will break any new grounds with the RTS genre like Command and Conquer and Total War did. I think Half-Life needs a spin-off, because Valve could really make a whole universe out of what they have going for Half-Life storywise. Portal just isn't really going to cut it, especially after the original idea of bringing back former fan-favorite Adrian Shepard quickly became a myth. Just to remind you guys who he is, he was the HECU marine from the Half-Life expansion pack Opposing Forces who was put into "permanent stasis" by the G-Man just like Gordon was in the end of the game. Sure, Bungie wants to accomplish its former goals by making Halo into an RTS, but from what I saw of the game videos, as much as I want to say the game looks excellent, it only looks decent. However, those videos were from when the game was still in its early development phase. Surprise me, Halo Wars. But I still think it's going to be a hit-and-miss......

but valve is an FPS company although compatible it prolly wouldn't happen. What they do need is another Halo trilogy, like the Master Chief on his way back to earth (as seen in the secret ending) or perhaps a brand new character looking for him, besides, they didn't kill off the Gravemind, he was the perfect final boss, you have to admit

as cool as that would be abd as much as I admit I would want that I have to admit and agree with those who have said a fight between Gravemind and the cief would be odd and very difficult to pull off aside from being inbalanced given the graveminds size there really is no president for a boss fight in Halo

however I do agree that something New perhaps a trilogy following the elites after all they are on there own but even with the heirachs gone the covenant is still out there they have homeworlds for each alien and what not and they can always get new leaders so its probably a safe bet to say that the covenant hasn't totaly receded into darkness and defeat

i would also like to play a game other then Halo Wars where u could play from the covenants point of view a sort of a call of duty where u alternate netween characters as u go through the game u couldalternate between elites drones brutes others if possible as it plays out from the start of the war to the end and the final challenge would be a show down with the chief or some other spartan

I do not say it should be done but do u not agree that it is at least a somewhat interesting idea

Dude, who cares about size? Gordon Freeman was able to defeat the Nihilanth. Adrian Shepard was able to kill the Gene Worm. The marine from Quake II was able to defeat the Makron. The Doom marine was able to kill Hell's mightiest warrior, the terrifying Cyberdemon. All of those bosses were bigger than the player characters, and could easily nuke Gravemind's a**. Gravemind would've made an excellent final boss. But Bungie gave us some cheap-a** little robot (Guilty Spark 347 or whatever number he was) to fight. I have 2 things for Valve:
1. Don't be cheap like Bungie.
2. Bring back Adrian Shepard, either in a spin-off, or in a sequel, and MAKE HIM PLAYABLE!!!!!

bungie should have skipped it entirely they don't know hwo to do bosses if u want to do a boss u better know how to make one otherwise don't do it at all

Just because Hornets were not in Halo 2, doesn't mean that they didn't exist before Halo 3. Yah a bunch of Hornets could take down a scarab.

Hornets did Exist if I may be so bold to site Contact harvest which takes place before Halo was even discovered or the covenant in fact they are refrenced right in the prolog they are the vehicles johnson and his men used to get to the innie tanker
