Adalia's eyes widened slightly as she sat there, mouth slightly agape, staring at the awkward Dean. She'd never met a guy who reacted quite the way he did. Surprise finally giving way to amusement, she laughs as he stands up. That was the second time he'd had a minor freak out in a matter of minutes, and Adalia was starting to wonder if he was really bad with people, or just really awkward around women.

Smiling as he sat down, she nodded her head before resting it on his nearest shoulder. "I'm entertained, at least!" Laughing a little, she wondered at how goofy he sometimes acted. Pondering on what Zest had said, about him having no friends, and being sad when he was alone, in his room.

Dean turns his head slightly toward the left as she rests her head on his left shoulder. The whole night, he'd strategically placed himself to her right so that she wouldn't be on the side of his false eye. He blushes a little at the contact, replying, "Well, that's good. If you didn't think it was amusing for me to fall all over myself, I'd think you were sick." With a soft chuckle, he turns his head back forward. Dean, having no idea what to do, sits still for a moment. He battles with a few thoughts of actions to take before finally resolving to put his arm around her.

His left arm moves to slip behind her and move around to her left shoulder. He doesn't say or do anything for a moment, waiting for her reaction to this with wavering nerves.

Laughing in amusement at Dean, Adalia tilts her head up a little, to look him in the face. "And what if I'd been concerned, rather than amused?" Adding a small pout in at the last, her eyes were still smiling. Though she'd been a little concerned about him, but after seeing him bounce back up both times, her small concern had turned to outright amusement. His awkwardness made him clumsy, but he seemed to at least have a thick enough skull to not injure himself too terribly.

Smiling softly as he wraps an arm around her shoulder, she wraps her own arm across his stomach and nuzzles in towards his neck. Leaving her free arm to be wrapped around her own waist, she closes her eyes for a moment in contentment.

Dean smirks as Adalia pouts at him, coming up with a reply for her "what it" question. With his right hand, Dean forms a fist and knocks on his chest toward the left like it's a door. The sound of the knocking seems unnatural compared to the thud it should make. Instead, his chest creates a sort of metallic sound as he knocks. "I'm pretty durable," he says. A frown appears upon his face for a moment as he explains, "I sustained more injuries than just the loss of my eye. My chest actually had to be reinforced with surgical steel so that it would have support. I think it caved in from something in the accident..."

His face reddens yet again as she wraps an arm over his stomach and starts to nuzzle at his neck. With his right hand still resting against his chest, he feels his own heart beating rapidly. Having had no prior experience with women makes it difficult for him to know what to do. So, Dean wings it. His right arm moves down, resting atop her arm over his stomach. He turns his head toward the left so that the side of his face is next to Adalia's face. With his mouth near to her ear, he whispers, "I'm really glad you came to dinner."

Frowning against him as he knocks on his chest, Adalia squeezes him tight with her arm. She didn't really know what to say to his explanation, though a few lines of teasing flitted through her mind. Not entirely sure teasing was the best road, for the moment. So she settled for the half hug, and hoped it would convey what she couldn't think of to say.

Smiling as his arm covers her own, a light blush touching her cheeks as he whispers in her ear. Tilting her head up with a content smile, she whispers back, "So am I."

Her mind no longer worked away at Zest's comment, giving itself over to enjoying the simple pleasure of sitting next to Dean and enjoying his presence.

Dean leans back once more to relax as Adalia lay across him. His eye focuses onto the entertainment center in front of the couch, glancing over various objects sitting upon it. While staring blankly at the television, Dean decides to strike up some conversation.

"I once thought I wanted to write films," he says with a smirk, still staring with a dulled gaze toward the TV set. With a soft chuckle he admits, "Sometimes, in my head, I classify real life happenings into a genre of movie. Some events are harder than others to think of as a movie. I think tonight would fall under 'romantic comedy,' though." Shifting his gaze down to Adalia, he gives her a corny grin.

Zest toils away on her little art project. Flickering lights escape the partially closed laptop's screen as she darts about with a brush tool. She smiles as she looks to her work in progress, full of pride. As a child, her picture does appear as if a small child was drawing it. Unlike a child, however, her lines were mostly straight and the picture bears an air of precision.

Smiling contentedly as Dean relaxed into the couch, she snuggled up a little closer, making herself more comfortable. Eyes closing, she laughed a little as Dean's chuckle reverberated in his chest, hearing it loudly from her position. Nodding as she opened her eyes back up, she grinned. He was right, the date had become a bit of a comedy show. There had been almost as many silly falls during the short time they'd been hanging out as you might find in a half hour episode or part of a movie.

Though she'd never really spent much time classifying real life in movie genres, the idea entertained her. Frowning a little in thought, she inquired, "So what made you give up film writing?" While she'd seen how much he enjoyed baking, she didn't see why he couldn't do both. Writing did take up a lot of time, sure, but if he loved them equally, there was no reason he couldn't have them together.

Grinning mischievously she quickly added a second question to the mix, "And just what would you have classified our meeting at the park, then?" It was a rather random question, thought up mostly just to see what he would say.

Dean shrugs his shoulders lightly in response to Adalia's first question. "Nothing, really," he begins. "I just decided one day that I wanted to do something else with my life. Kids tend to change their dream career a lot." He takes a quick moment to reflect before adding, "Movies are more fun to watch than to make, anyway."

As her second question reaches his ears, Dean frowns a bit. "That's a tough one," he mutters. His head tilts back, a perplexed expression worn as he stares blankly at the ceiling in thought. After a moment, he looks down to Adalia and answers, "I imagine that our meeting in the park would be from a 'how to' video about dating. Specifically, it'd be featured in the section of the video that describes what NOT to do." Dean laughs softly at his answer, finding his classification of their meeting to be pretty accurate.

Frowning slightly as her head's perch shifted up, and then down, she gave a small sigh. Adalia did so hate it when her pillow decided to up and move around on her, especially when she was comfortable. Nodding slightly against his shoulder in response to his words, she gave a small laugh, "I never really knew what I wanted to be when I grew up." Reflecting on her current career, she added, "I still don't quite know." Shrugging against him a little, she smiled in amusement as he actually sat there and thought about her second question.

Laughing as he finally responded, she gave him a quick half hug. "It wasn't that bad!" Grinning as she remembered how they'd run into each other and how sweet he'd been, she really didn't think it had been that bad of a meeting. Snickering, she added, "Besides, it wasn't a date, so it couldn't be a how to on dating movie!" Looking up at him and sticking her tongue out for added emphasis, she couldn't help but giggle as she reverted to her typical and childish ways once again.

Dean smiles down toward Adalia warmly, his eyes calm and compassionate. "You're still pretty young, you know," he says with a smirk appearing upon his face after. "I don't consider myself 'grown up' yet, so you're definitely still growing up. You've got time to figure out what you want to do." Dean brings his right hand to pat Adalia on the head to tease her a bit.

He laughs and then explains, "It could be on a dating video. Part of the video would be the part where they show you how to ask a girl out. At the park, I asked you out. It was pretty clumsy, too." Dean shakes his head from side to side with a smirk. "It sounded better in my head before I said it, I'm sure."

Giggling at what came off as a mini teasing lecture, Adalia grinned until Dean patted her head. At that, she turned her face up and pouted at him, making her eyes wide and round. It was a face almost no one could refuse and she wielded it often. "I don't really seem like a little kid that often, do I?" She was an adult, not just a kid anymore. Adalia knew she had no real direction to her life and it bothered her that Dean might view her as just a kid. Even though she knew he was teasing, his words had stung. The past few days she'd had quite a bit of time to think about where she stood in life, and not having really done anything, she was finding herself to be quite disappointed.

Laughing, Adalia found her musings quickly erased by Dean's humor. Raising an eyebrow, she grinned, "So what did make you ask me out, anyway?" Now that he mentioned how he felt it was clumsy, she was kind of curious. They'd only met twice before, after all.

Dean frowns toward Adalia a moment as she gives him "the look." Knowing he'd worded things a bit to her displeasure, he explains, "You don't seem like a little kid. I'm just saying that there's still time to find your way in life. I wanted to cook, but I was thrust into it a little early. I have no family to stay with, so getting into a career as quickly as possible was more a necessity." He sighs softly before adding, "I'd rather be playing video games and mooching off of my parents." His arm around her shoulder pulls her closer for a momentary hug. "Choosing to grow up and being forced to are very different. If I had my way, people would stay kids forever," he says with a sad smile worn upon his face.

After hearing her second question, Dean becomes visually more awkward. His eye looks around the room, as if he would find the answer sitting atop some furniture or posted on the walls and ceiling. "Uhm... Why did I ask you out?" he repeats, as if buying time. "Well..." His eyes close as he appears to give the question serious thought. A smirk appears on his face, as if to warn her that his answer wouldn't be entirely serious. "You're sweet and you're cute. You don't have to know much about a person to go on a date. Dates are for getting to know people better." His right hand moves toward her face to pinch at her cheek lightly as he adds, "Mostly, it's because you're cute, though." With that said, he releases her cheek and leans down to kiss her cheek playfully instead.

Nodding slightly as Dean spoke, Adalia knew he hadn't meant to make her feel like she was just a little kid. But sitting next to him made her feel more childish than she normally did. Thinking about it, she supposed that was due to the fact that though she had lost her parents as well, she had merely attached herself to Fiach. Setting herself against him and working extremely hard to make him open up...and Dean hadn't had anyone to attach to.

Smiling a little at the hug, she gave a small laugh, "After my father died, I attached myself to Fiach. Shortly after that, we found out our mother had passed away in Ireland." Frowning, her shoulders raised in a small shrug, "I guess...just sitting here with you, and seeing you with so much direction in your life, and seeing my brother lacking much in his...makes me worry that I might end up like that, too." Pausing, a pink tinge covered her cheeks as she realized she was rambling, and it probably wasn't a topic that would interest Dean in the least. Her troubles with her brother were her own troubles, not someone else's.

Giggling at Dean's awkwardness, a broad grin played across her lips as he finally answered. Arching an eyebrow as regally as she could muster, she teased, "So would just any cute girl do for you, then?"

Pouting as her cheeks were pinched, she made a face at him and stuck her tongue out. Really, acting like an old, smelly aunt on a date wasn't the best thing you could do. And it called for more teasing. But before she could open her mouth to tease him, Dean had leaned down and kissed her cheek playfully. A hint of a blush returned to her cheeks, as she coyly raised an eyebrow at him, unable to resist another chance for teasing.

"And what was that for?"

Only ruining it by giggling just a little at the end. She'd really have to stop giggling so much, it made keeping a straight face rather difficult!

Every once in a while, Dean's mind works to optimum brilliance. One such occurrence happens as Adalia informs Dean about her worries of the future. He restrains his mouth, trying not to smile. The moment being a bit more serious now, he decides to be a little more serious as well. "Your brother doesn't need any direction," he states rather plainly, vision drifting up toward the ceiling. With a sage-like tone, he explains, "Fiach seems fine where he is in life. His social skills could use some improving, but remember that he does run a shop, which puts him at least in a managerial position. Aside from that..." Dean turns his gaze down toward Adalia, his expression so calm and peaceful, yet somehow very serious now. "You're both bringing happiness to people... and to hackers. I wouldn't worry about direction too much. You both work toward a noble cause."

Of course, the seriousness couldn't last long. Not when she started teasing again. He chuckles at her question, replying with an evil smirk, "Well, to be honest, yes. Any cute girl would do." He laughs a bit more, fully prepared for a beating or more teasing from that answer, quickly replying to her second question in an attempt to distract Adalia. "I dunno. I just felt like giving you boy cooties."

Shrugging lightly against Dean's body, eyes almost distant as if she were thinking and partially off in her own little world. Maybe Dean was right and Fiach didn't so much need direction in life, as he needed people who cared and to understand that they were there. But that didn't stop the nagging feelings that the only direction her brother was going, was a bad one if he didn't shape up soon. You'd have to know him, though, to see there was anything wrong. He came off as effeminate to those just meeting him, and a smile touched her lips as she wondered how Sionce and Fiach were doing, anyway.

Glancing back up at Dean, she settled for a simple, and slightly cryptic, "You'll understand why I worry once you get to know him better." Moving her arm to pat Dean on the head, she grinned as if she was just teasing him before laughing. Unable to resist tossing a joking, "Well, if just any cute girl would do, maybe you should pick another one?"

Adalia rolled her eyes before muttering, "There's no such thing as boy cooties, silly." Returning her arm to his stomach, she laughed, "You're really weird, you know?" At least he kept her laughing, and had developed a knack for making her feel better, it seemed.
