The look of pride that appeared in Amadeo’s eyes would hold Thane for the rest of eternity. It made all that pain worth it. He felt oddly weak as he was carefully lifted and moved over to the chair where he rested back into its softness grateful. No, it wasn’t weakness that plagued him. He could feel a layer of new strength bubbling like fire beneath his skin. But he felt disorientated in this new state. Death would take some time getting used to. Golden eyed gaze had still not left Amadeo’s face. As the elder vampire began to speak, all his focus was on the other male, listening to each word with a frown of concentration.
Thane’s keen mind quickly took in all this new information, dissecting and arranging it carefully within his mind as he did with the runes. As a creature of the night, the sun was now the enemy. But that wouldn’t be his only trouble it seemed. This previously unseen world of the vampire could be dangerous even for the undead. Just because he was stronger now, didn’t mean there were others higher up in the food chain ready to rip him apart. What he found most interesting was that others of his own kind were on that list too. No matter. He was careful. No mention of this would pass his lips in order to remain safe. After all, he didn’t want his eternity to be cut off after a few days due to stupidity.
His head jerked to the side when there was a bang against the door, a question he had been about to ask frozen in his throat. As Amadeo opened the door and ushered Nalleme, he gave the female a nasty look. How dare she come here like this and interrupt? Now she was to be taken to a private room with Amadeo while he sat here and ‘recovered’. Perhaps it was his new, strange attachment to his sire that caused the bubble of jealousy to rise. Would she too become a vampire? Hopefully the ditzy thing would refuse and she would be killed.
When Amadeo came over, leaning in to whisper low words, he nodded once in acknowledgment. Then they gone to the next room and he closed his eyes.

The raw emotion seething from Amadeo's newest fledgeling did not go unnoticed and the Elder refrained from expressing his smirk of approval. He'd nearly forgotten the strength of loyalty between Sire and Childe, it had been quite a while since his last embrace. The candidates had simply not been suitable or old enough until recently, now it was as though he couldn't keep afloat amidst the sea of possibilities. Yet he would not keep Thane waiting for long. In fact, Amadeo was beginning to have something else in mind for Nalleme. An embrace was inevitable but there would be more to her embrace. It was said that the older generation of Giovanni was sexist, this was not untrue though in Amadeo, not severe. He was mildly sexist, though not extreme. Women served a few more purposes these days. Poor Nalleme.
The Elder opened the door and as the low light invaded there came a startling sight. An empty, stone chamber lit by torchlight and holding only a downward spiraling staircase of solid, well polished stone. Even for stone it looked expensive. He said nothing, merely motioned for her to follow as he began his descent down the staircase. The lower he went the colder the air, yet the temperature didn't change for him. He felt nothing as it was. The torches lined both sides of the wall, and while they should have provided comfort for those uneasy in the darkness, they only seemed to ignite a worry deep in the pit of ones stomach. Lodging there and growing like a sickness. His paws made no sound, long raven locks framing that gorgeous though stone cold face and those intelligent eyes locked straight ahead. The only sign of his existence was this unusually humored smirk he allowed to shine momentarily before it was whisked away and replaced by a calm cool. This would be a perfect way to find out her true colors and the extent of her loyalty to Giovanni.

Shivering in the chill emanating from the damp stone of the walls, Nalleme's bright eyes surveyed the area ahead. It was so hard to see down into the darkness, her eyes were unused to this darkness. Even the dim firelight of the lush office was lighter than this. Her breathing picked back up, not only from the exertion of all the endless stairs, but slight terror.
She had no idea why her opulent, comfort-loving self should be brought all the way down here. The nymph highly doubted that Amadeo had anything interesting down here. But down and down he lead her, and she refused to be distrustful of the charismatic family leader. If her power increased, she would gladly do it.
Nalleme had already sold her soul to this man, what else mattered? "Is it much further, my lord?" The tone was uncaring, but she couldn't keep the light shiver out of her voice. They had passed a few doors, but still descended.

"We've arrived." Their journey ended in a large, circular, sandstone chamber. Brightly lit by several torches and devoid of anything with the exception of a beautifully carved ceiling which listed all the names of Giovanni ancestors in a wonderous spiraling pattern. Several hallways lead off from the chamber, winding deep into the earth beneath the mansion and property. All the important doors were locked up tight, the crypts and a few other chambers, however, were not. Amadeo stopped in the center of the underground area, his chin tilting upward as his eyes scanned over-head, a slow, appreciative and respectful smile lifting his lips. "These are the names of our family, our ancestors. All are worthy of respect and dignity. Some of us, however, will outlast this set of names and the stone upon which they are carved.."
His eyes narrowed slightly and he turned his gaze to rest upon the lovely young female. Turning his body his expression was one of seriousness, he expected something of her. "I promise you power, it shall be yours. But before it can be yours you must remain here. Alone." The air seemed to grow heavy, thick with an intimidating aura. Amadeo's eyes were hypnotic and powerful as they watched Nalleme from the center of the barren chamber, the torchlight casting liquid shadow upon his enticing frame. "Will you accept?"

The gems in her hair and on her body winked in the gentle light refracted from the crystal overhead. Her lovely white face craned upwards, seeking the names, and which she knew. There were so many there, and yet so very few that were recognizable. It was a large family, and with this secret half that she was now finding, Chaos knew how many more there were!
Satin petticoats rustled as she turned to look around, arms wrapped around herself to keep warm. How could anything outlast this stone? It was huge, and would doubtless be there forever. But then, as far as anyone could remember, so had Amadeo been to their family. Just like this crystal.
So how...?
Shaking the thoughts away, she caught his words. "Stay here? Alone? Like this?!" Her voice rose in fear, arms tightening, eyes wide. Was it because she had heard? There was no doubt he knew, he had known since he found her. Would they kill her after all this? No. She would live to see the power, Amadeo wouldn't lie to her.
He wouldn't.
Taking a deep breath, trying to master her fear, she looked up at the head of the family. Nalleme had trusted him so far, she would have to now. Amadeo Giovanni had never steered the family wrong, and she was family! She would be guided well.
"I will stay....but you will come back for me?" And not the one in the room, she added silently.

The Elder could practically taste the light sheen of fear upon the air that radiated from Nalleme, her posture and expression really didn't help disprove his notion either. "Nalleme, Nalleme.." He cooed, exuding an aura of trust and assurance, that malevolent darker undertone over-powered by his charisma. "You are a Giovanni, here you are safe. Family are immune within these walls. Do you not trust me?" He advanced, slowly, confidently until he stood directly before her. He was tall, not freakishly but intimidatingly while also being a protective comfort to those in his good graces. He gave her a look which suggested he was doubting her loyalty and her faith in him, a look which could be quite powerful in the right situation and with the right Kat.
The torchlight snaked out from their perches, dancing and writhing like smoke across the sandstone walls, flooding shapely shadows across the barren floor. The light bounced off the beautiful jewels in her silken locks, illuminating them like so many stars and these caught his eye momentarily before that exotic gaze returned to her face, his eyes looking deeply within her own as though searching her soul. She would make a fine addition to the clan, her character would be a great asset and her disposition and ambition would turn heads. Especially after her embrace. Yet he would be hard on her, for many reasons. Women of the Giovanni were expected to conform to certain standards, this is how the old world saw it. Many of those rules still applied in todays society with the older generation, yet Amadeo was both of the old world and the new. He would see his childer flourish, by any means neccesarry.

A soft gasp escaped her mouth, as the words and gaze landed heavily on the scared female. Her blue eyes were wide with shock now, and she tried to cover it swiftly with a downwards shift of her face, smooth features turning back up.
"My lord! I would never do such a thing, you know my life lies entirely in your hands at every moment of its existence!" She curtsied respectfully, almost flirtatiously, the bright smile curving at her lips. It was a cleverly worn mask, and undoubtedly, he would see through it. But still, there was a chance he might not, and Nalleme always played her social games on a chance.
"If I must abide, I will abide, as I have said. I long only for the day you come for me."

Amadeo's expression was one of approval as she did her best to soothe his doubts, the effort humored him. Maybe it was his carefully checked ego that found her inner struggles humorous, or it was the fact that she played the game so well. "I trust your loyalty to me, to the family, my dear." He brushed a lock of her bangs from her face, careful to only touch her face in passing. 'Cast the line, set the hook' came to mind as he finished this gesture. Family was most important, all else came second, well, in a manner of speaking. "Now, stay. I'll return for you in time. There is a room down the hall and to the right where you may reside for the time being." He kept his tone clear of condescending notes as he stepped aside and began up the stairs slowly.
Yet he seemed to pause, to hesitate, turning at the waist slightly to regard her once more. The fires of the underworld masked behind his dark, earthen gaze. "And mind the chambers further along the hall, unless you wish to visit our ancestors in their final place of rest." His mouth was set, he wasn't being coy. "The crypts can be rather.. unnerving when you're alone." Here he inclined his head and offered a faint smile. "Rest well." And with that he turned and ascended the staircase, disappearing from view as though he himself were an apparition. The flood of torchlight danced ominously along the empty steps, the silence was deafening, that was, until a door closed somewhere behind Nalleme, somewhere down the darkened hallway where nothing should have been stirring. She'd been left alone, well, almost.
