Yiddish is like any language. Hard to learn from a book, easier when surrounded by people using it and willing to stop and explain things here and there.

"Kvetch" is pronounced exactly like it looks. Rhymes with "wretch" or "fetch."
There's only one syllable, so say k'vetch, not kuh-vetch. No separation between the K and the V at all.
