"Ah... yes that boy," Donovan mused.
It looked like the valley actually became emptier, well one would hope maybe their children wouldn't move away then.
"Perhaps they will," he agreed and smiled at Ulani, "Thank you for your help Ulani."
He did not want to keep her away for too long after all, it was getting late.

Triton grinned and waved back as he went to find a room for himself. Though really it was simply just picking an empty room since they were all the same as he discovered.
So that made things much easier.

Aliya laughed and put one arm around Feng's shoulders, already very much fond of the girl. "Ah, it's going to be so much fun with you guys here!" she exclaimed brightly as she led them around to the back of the house. "No one around here ever wants to have any fun." Well, except for Halmir, but he was just plain different.
"Anyways, here's the river," she smiled, nodding. The river flowed directly behind the house - behind both houses, actually. "It's fairly wide, and very deep ... very very deep."
Ulani smiled and nodded. "You're very welcome. I hope you all sleep well, and we'll see you in the morning." And she nodded her head to them, waved, and left.

Feng's face lit up, that just had so much promise for her, fun and adventure and new things with a friend!
"Excellent!" Feng exclaimed, "Then we'll see what happens tomorrow," and with that she dove into the river transforming in mid leap.
Her golden yellow tail with her fiery bird mark simmered as she splashed into the river. Feng surfaced once more to wave her brother in.
"The water is perfect!" "How can you tell? We don't feel cold," Ryu mumbled as he dove in after her.
Unlike his sister, his colours were darker and lighter, of deep reds and golden light yellows, more subtle than Feng's bright colouring. He shook the water out of his face as he rose to the surface.

Donovan waved briefly before finding his own room, after all they had a long day ahead of them. No matter how not tired they felt at the moment, it was best to try and get some sleep.

Aliya laughed at the two mers and knelt at the water's edge.
"It must be nice to be able to swim all the time," she murmured, trailing one finger in the water. "I almost never get the chance anymore, what with work and all that. Not that I'm complaining, I love the work I do ..."
Then again, she had never really had anyone to go swimming with. Adonai prefered to stay dry, even avoided bathtime when he could.

Feng smiled, "Well since you said the busiest part of your job is done, you can come swimming with us!"
She figured it was perfectly fine, after all it was just two mers and an elf, okay two girls and a boy, but Ryu was a mer so it made it alright.
"But first, lessons," Feng grinned, "But that's tomorrow."

Aliya nodded. "Tomorrow ... which means I have to get to bed now, if I'm going to be up in time. I'll come get you before I leave, all right? It's going to be early, I usually try to be there before sunrise."
She smiled. "I can't start teaching you until after my rounds are finished tomorrow, but the earlier I do that, the earlier we can start. Get the most out of the day, since we have to - or at least, I have to leave before sunset."

"Oh..." Feng nodded, "Okay, I guess it's good night then," Feng replied back as she began to sink into the water.
She waved at Aliya a bit more, while Ryu who murmured a soft good night dove deeper into the river's waters.

"Good night," Aliya replied, standing again and waving until the two were out of sight.
Then she turned and headed back into the house.

The two twins whirled their way down to the bottom of the river where they would happily rest until it was time to wake again. Feng giggled as she settled herself on a rock using plant life as a cushion.

As promised, Aliya was back before the first rays of light even started peeking between the eastern mountains. She had nothing with her, and she slapped the top of the water excitedly as she waited for her new friends to come and join her.
She hoped they had had enough sleep, she wasn't sure if they would be able to get used to this river - was it possible to get used to a river? Well, at the very least, she hoped the current hadn't bothered them too much.
"Wake up wake up wake up," she murmured quietly, more to herself than anything, waiting impatiently for them.

There was no sunlight to reach the darker recesses of the river. The two peered up waiting, they had slept somehow, despite having already been quite awake when they arrived there. At the feel of the current change, the sound of fish, very large fish swam up to the surface. The two mers popped their heads out of the water, and the cold air hit the dewly drops left on their skin. Had they been human, they would have shivered, but they were not.
"Morning!" Feng chriped, "It is morning right?"

"It is indeed!" Aliya grinned, jumping to her feet again. "It won't be light until we reach the ranch though. Come on! Let's get going! The horses will be waiting for me, and I want to catch them before they're put out for the day!"
After all, it was so much more difficult to make sure she checked them all when they were out at pasture - and it sometimes took hours to get them all, since the pasture was so huge.

The two pushed themselves out of the water in unison, one of the few 'twin' things leftover from their childhood. Feng giggled as they began to transform and rose to their feet.
It didn't bother them so much that they were still wet, it was a change they were quite use to over time.
"Lead the way," Ryu motioned.
