Sitting on the couch with a binder in his lap Dare tapped a pen on a peice of paper. He hadn't talked to Orion in quite some time and it seemed strange to be contacting him atlast about this, still atleast it would break the ice. Dear Orion
Long time no talk bluey, I've missed you. A lot's been going on as I'm sure you know trinket and I finally got married. It seems likeit wasn't that long ago when we were all just kids who used to hang out at the park. Now we're grown up with kids of our own that we can take to our favorite childhood places.
Yeah that's right Trinket and I have adopted a little girl, she's something special let me tell you. We'll she's not adopted so much as sponsered from these rather odd labs but the point is that she's ours. Brianna's her name and she's a right bundle of feathers and energy. She never slows down, I wonder was I that energetic as a child?
I hope this letter and photos ( Oh come on I'm a new parent you knew there'd be photo's) finds you well.
Sincerely Alisdare

Dear Diary:
I am never going to forgive Tybalt for giving Brianna markers to draw on her walls with. The fact that they wash away is not the point, everytime I walk into her rooms there's a riot of colours forming pictures and symbols only half of which are recognisable. Trinket think's it's cute and keeps her occupied indoors, little does he realise that eventually she will grow tired of just decorating her room and I'll be chasing her around the house with a cloth and bucket.

Dear diary:
How and I really mean this, how in the hell can picking a cereal be that hard of a god damned choice. It all tastes nearly the same the prizes at the bottom are destructable or boring after their first use andthe boxes are all the same bright shiny primary colours. Honestly I love my daughter to death but next time I'm just grabbing the first box I see and Brianna can live with it.

Dear diary
Costume shoppign for a child with wings is not easy. Or perhaps it's just costume shopping for Brianna isn't easy. One way or another it's been three days and the girl still hasn't been able to decide what she wants to be. If she's this indecsive over a costume I better have her start making her christmas list early.
Alisdare.

(seriously backdated journal entry) Dear diary:
The past little been hell and I haven't had a moments peace to update. I don't really have a lot of spare time now but I do need to jot things down to preserve in something more solid then my memory.
Brianna has gone to her first funeral, Nephrenia trinket's mother and my step mother was killed only a few weeks before Christmas. I felt it only right to take Brianna to the funeral as Neph was her grandmother. She cried, confused as to why people went away and once that was explained she was angry that someone took her grandma away before she could say goodbye.
She took it fairly well but still she gets quiet sometimes when looking at her picture and I can see it still affects her in some ways. I can only hope that she need not face more death in the near future.
There is more but my hands ache and I'm not going to push myself. Perhaps I will get around to speaking of it later.

childhood fixations
Yo-yo's hated Brianna and she hated them right back, they tangled her all op and he hit them off the ground chipping paint, they knotted spontaneously and she tossed them on shelves to show her displeasure. It was a long standing feud that no one was winning.
Dare leaned in his daughter's doorway and watched as Brianna slowly untangled string from her hair and wings. It had never occurred to him that a girl who showed rather nice eye hand co ordination might have such a hard time with a yo-yo. Apparently he hadn't taken into account the fact that Brianna's eyes tended to followed the toy and thus mess up exactly how her hands should react.
" Sweetie why don't you put that down for now and we'll go to the bakery and get some gingerbread and cresent rolls" Dare hated to see Brianna frustrated and he knew that if she kept fighting the yo-yo that today at least she'd end up in tears or a fit of rage neither of which was good. " Oh and Uncle Tybalt is coming over this weekened to show you some yo-yo tricks" hopefully his brother could find a way to help Brianna handle the basics as well.
Brianna's blue eyes lit up and the second she was free of the string she hopped to her feet and nodded " I want one of those cool gingerbread fish they have with the icing scales." Struggle forgotten Brianna's mind was now focused solely in the sweet treat to come.
