Koorie crossed her legs, her eyes never leaving the doctor. While he seemed to be the most decent thing she'd met so far here, something about him was sending up warning flags. "I appreciate the offer of you dealing with him, but this is my war, and I'm sure that he and I will meet again. I will take care of him myself in due time." She smiled thinly.
"As for likes and dislikes, I don't see how that would matter much. I'm here to work, not to socialize. As for talents, the only one that will come to use here is the fact that I am a fast self-teacher. I don't want to waist any more of your time, I'm sure your busy, so lets hurry along with this."

Smiling knowingly, Dr. Hakan nodded. "I understand you have a personal issue with Rutherford. I can understand why. I'm not saying you can't settle that matter on your own terms," he continued with a sneaky grin. "I'm just saying that the boy needs to be reminded of who signs his paychecks around here as well as proper business decorum in dealing with one's superiors. But enough on that unpleasantness," he finished, waving his hand dismissively.
He raised an eyebrow at Koorie's swift, to-the-point explanation, then laughed heartily. "Well, straight to business then, hmm? I do believe I'm going to enjoy working with you, Koorie." He smiled, genuinely liking this girl's attitude. That, and that whole business with Rutherford earlier had earned her a few points in the doctor's book for pure amusement factor. "Alright, I'll ask around in a couple different departments and see who could use your help the most, since it sounds like you could fit in just about anywhere. Now, for the unpleasant business."
He rested his hands on the table, continuing. "I'm assuming you're not from this region, yes? We are in a rather remote location. Remote and mostly uncivilized. Most of us received a vaccination against local viruses upon arrival and I'll have to ask you to do the same. Can't have you coming down ill right after I put you to work, can I?"
Dr. Hakan wasn't a fool and he knew enough about this one to know he'd have to be wary. "It's just a single, one-time injection that will protect you from anything you could come in contact with on this island. Now, I could administer the immunization myself, or I could have one of my techs do it. The method is up to you. Which ever method is more comfortable for you."

Koorie eyed the needle and frowned. It wasn't that she didn't like shots or needles, she didn't like the idea that someone else was sticking her with a needle. Casually, she held out her hand. "Allow me to do it myself, please. I've given myself enough vaccinations to know the drill."
It was true, she never let anyone at those stupid drug store vaccinations touch her, she'd always done it herself ever since she had been a pin cushion with the IV with that one incompetent nurse.

This earned another eyebrow raise from the doctor, and he paused from tapping air bubbles from the syringe to look at Koorie oddly. "Well, it's a bit unorthodox...but I suppose I can't blame you," he chuckled, momentary wariness disappating. This would be even easier than usual...
At ease, Dr. Hakan handed her the syringe and a sealed alcohol swab from his pocket. "In fact," he continued as if never pausing, "I do all my own immunizations as well. I don't trust anyone else around here to do them," he joked, winking in a conspiratory manner. How true that one was, she didn't need to know.

Koorie smiled and nodded her thanks to him, then gently cleaned her skin and the needle point with the alcohol swab. Skillfully, she gave herself the injection, feeling it sting a little. "What are some side effects I should look out for?" She knew that vaccinations where putting the actual virus in to one's body, and that sometimes you received the symptoms.
She chuckled a little at Carl's 'joke'. "I haven't trusted anyone with needs after an incompetent nurse at the hospital stuck me up like a pin cushion."

Carl chuckled softly as well, amused at how easily this one went. "Well, serious side effects are rare...can't say I've ever seen any before in all my years here at CRONUS. It is likely though that you'll experience some drowsiness. That seems common. You'll probably want to go back to your room and take a nap, but that's perfectly fine as I believe we have nothing else to do here today. I'll get back to you in a few days or so after you've had time to settle in. We'll settle your security clearance question then as well too, once we know where you'll be working."
He took the needle back to dispose of later. "For now, you'll have free range of the dormitory wing and cafeteria. Enjoy your time off and get settled in. I'll have someone escort you back there in a bit." He smirked, speaking quickly before she could interrupt. "No, not Rutherford. Someone much more competent and professional. As for your room, there should be a small intercom and button on the wall. If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to simply ask for it."
Smiling casually, Dr. Hakan leaned back in his chair. "Any other questions for now, or would you rather go get some rest?"

Koorie gave a small, thin, neutral smile to him and stood up, leaning across the desk to shake his hand. "Thank you, Dr. Hakan, I look forward to where you can put me to work. The only thing I can ask of off the top of my head is if there is any sound proof rooms here. In my spare time, if I have any, I will be practicing some music. I'd hate to disturb the others."
In reality, she didn't want other people getting curious to what she was doing and come wandering in and bugging the hell out of her. She was far more productive when she worked alone.
She figured she would stay in her room and rest a bit, since not only was the boat ride tiring, but the side effects of the vaccination would be drowsiness as well. It would probably be best if she stayed in her room, alone, and out of the way.

Dr. Hakan nodded, smiling in response to her question. "You'll be quite pleased to discover that all of the rooms in the dormitory wing were built to be almost completely sound-proof. With the exception of say, a nuclear explosion, I can't imagine anything making it through those walls."
They were built to withstand a Dragonite's Hyber Beam if necessary. No music could possibly compete with that.
"So, no worries. Unless you have some sort of experimental high-powered amp designed to blow walls down, you shouldn't disturb anyone, nor vice versa." He smirked, nodding briefly.
"If that's all, I'll go ahead and summon someone to take you to your room." Pulling a walkie talkie from his pocket, he muttered a few things into it, then shut it off with a snap. "Remember," he said turning back to Koorie. "If you experience anything other than some slight drowsiness, anything that worries you, don't hesitate to use the intercom. Even if I don't answer personally, someone will let me know."
He smiled disarmingly once more, heading to the door at the sound of a knock. "That would be your escort." He opened the door, revealing yet another of CRONUS' guards, in uniform and standing at attention at the sight of the doctor. That was more like it.
"Good evening and rest well, Ms. Shizuku."

Koorie nodded to Carl with that same thin smile. "Good evening, Dr. Hakan." She could be pleasant when she wanted to, even if it was to a man. Besides, this man was her new employer, even if it was just for the summer.
She stood beside the new guard and sized him up. It definitely wasn't Hayden, and she was glad; she probably would have ripped out the guys throat... or something else. She waited calmly for the guard to escort her.

"Right this way, miss," the guard directed, smiling politely before leading the way. As soon as his back was turned to her, his smile altered a bit. Damn, she was hot! He definitely wouldn't mind tapping that...
Alright, behave. She was a subject, and therefore off-limits. For many reasons. He focused on the task at hand to distract himself, swiping his security card to get them back into the dormitory wing. It was still a ways now back to her room, and down twisting side hallways.

About halfway through the walk back to the dormitory wing, Koorie began to feel a bit drowsy. She was glad the doctor had warned her, or she would have been slightly worried.
She placed a hand over her mouth as she gave a small yawn, blinking a bit to refocus her eyes on the numbers on the doors.

Glancing back at the young woman periodically, the guard was seriously having trouble controlling his natural male hormones and instincts. That, plus...it'd been a reaaaally long time. And there weren't exactly many available women around here. Definitely not that hot.
Apparently, she hadn't yet noticed that they were in the completely wrong side hallway. Pausing and stepping back to the faltering woman, the guard smiled disarmingly. "Miss? Are you alright?" His eyes were straying from where he should be looking, and resistance was seeming a bit silly at this point. Hell, the woman looked half-drunk already...what would she even remember?

Koorie let out another yawn, keeping an eye on the guard. "Yes, quite fine, thank you." Something about this man was sending up more warning flags than Hayden and Carl combined. She noticed his eyes straying a bit, even being under the influence of the anesthetics, and frowned a little. "Keep your eyes where they belong or you'll loose them....."

Throwing caution to the proverbial wind, the guard smirked to himself. Afterall, what could she do? "Oh, come on, baby...you sure you wanna' go back to your room already? You just got here. Maybe I could...show you around a little...maybe my room..." All this time, he was backing the young woman towards the wall, when a nearby door opened just a few feet away.
"What the f*$& do you think you're doing, Frank?"
The young guard froze, glancing up at the sharp, barking voice, but relaxing when he noticed a similar uniform. "Rutherford! I see you're still around...you want a piece of this too?" Shooting the new arrival a sleazy grin, he gestured towards Koorie with a jerk of his head.
Hayden wasn't exactly amused. He'd stopped by the lounge on his way to his room, needing a drink and knowing he still had a couple of beers hidden away in the back of the fridge. He hadn't planned on seeing Koorie again, especially not this soon...but that wasn't what had his blood boiling. Setting his beer bottle down on the floor, he turned to the one he'd referred to as 'Frank' in a disarmingly calm manner. "Frank? I'd suggest you step away from the young lady if you value your health."
"Dude! What's wrong with you? Can't you see she's frickin' hot? And she's practically stoned out of her effin' mind! Imagine the possi--"
Having heard far more than enough, Hayden decided to take action before this guy could bury himself any deeper. It was disgusting really. And while it was tempting to see what Koorie herself might have done to him, Hayden still had some lingering hostility from his own tangle with Koorie. While he wouldn't lower himself to hitting her...he had no problems with taking out his frustration on this lowlife.
Apparently, Frank never saw the straight-arm punch coming. By the time he was on the floor, it was too late. "THE F#*% IS WRONG WITH YOU, MAN?!?"
"I could ask the same about you, but I really don't have time for the full list. You got an abbreviated version?" Hayden sneered derisively, rubbing his knuckles. This guy had a hard head. Frank seemed to think about it for a moment before trying to climb to his feet, looking ready to attack either of them at the moment. "I wouldn't try it, Frank. I might kick your a**, but she'll make sure you never have children. Walk away. NOW." The last word was said softly, but with such steel that the other guard wavered for a moment.
"Dude...I swear you're effin' gay. You gotta' be," Frank muttered, stalking off furiously, still rubbing his jaw.
Hayden sighed, finally daring to relax and realizing belatedly that he'd instinctively placed himself between Koorie and Frank. Glancing over his shoulder casually, he commented, "You're alright, aren't you? He didn't try anything else?"

Koorie was looking down at the ground, her hands clenched tightly in to fists. She refused to look up to show that she was actually blushing. She was mortified, she couldn't even take care of herself. "Give me his name, room number, and security shifts, I'll give him a ******** good time...."
She was drowsy, and now she'd nearly had a rape attempt on her. Granted, the man she'd tried to make infertile earlier had come to help her, which didn't help her much since she now had that annoying little voice back telling her that he was a good guy. "So why are you here? Come back to tell me about how I'm not special again?"
'Push the guy father from you, then he can't hurt you. Then no one can hurt you.'
"Or maybe you'd rather go on about how I'm 'craving attention' after I clearly stated I hate being social." She turned and walked away from him, just wanting to be away from the guy. She'd already lost it once at him, and she didn't want to loose it again.
