wow... someone sure necro'd an old thread... well, for many years, i didn't play any games that had magic.. abandoning my loved FF series at the time. now a days, i don't stick to it as much... but, back then, i was really taking a stand against witchcraft.

What the body of Christ needs to be able to see is that they are painting Witchcraft up in ways that feel more appeasing. they are trying to cook teh frog slowly.... if you throw a frog in a pot of hot boiling water, it'll jump out right away. But, if you put it in a pan of room temperature.. and slowly increase teh temp, you'll cook it still... and it won't run away. i feel the world is trying to do that to things that are abominations. We live in a society where people who practice homosexuality and witchcraft are rising to power... they are changing this world and the mindsets of people in it to be for their causes and against the causes of Christ.

Now, HP is a fiction. But, the writer does use witchcraft as her focal point.
Now, some might argue that the LOTR has magic.. and yet some like it. But, in LOTR, magic is not a focal point. it exists, yes... as in the real world, it exists here too...

but, my best advise is this: if you do want to read/watch this stuff... do so with a guard in your mind reminding you not to be so overly immersed that you find yourself mimicing or wanting to immitate what you see. When that fiction becomes a desire or something you are emulating, it's no longer harmless. It's very dangerous. Don't be fooled. Witchcraft is an abomination. It's not just wrong... in the bible, abomination is a very strong word... spared only for a few things the Lord hates. It'd be wise to pay due heed to them.

well, let me tell you some things...

firstly, my dad has gone over to a completely homosexual lifestyle for the most part.. but he still goes to church.. because part of his soul knows better and doesn't want to be damned for eternity.. yet.. he cannot find it in his flesh to depart from that life.. and for a long long time... i had a great bitterness against him. i despised him for both his lifestyle and trying to have that and our family at the same time. I felt he was a disgrace. In many ways, I still see him as that.. but now, he's alone adn lost his family... and I think he every so often reaps some rewards of his choices... most of the time coming to him in the form of kidney stones.. but i have known of a number of people who refused to give up their "chosen preference" .. and some of them ultimately died.. in weird ways too... like i knew this boy whose entire family was wiccan. and i met him when i was pregnant with my son. the only thing i'll give to them is they have an astounding respect and awe for giving birth to children. i mean.. they practically worship women while they are with child.. my brother brought this boy over from school.. and he kept going on about how great he thougth i was cuz i was blessed with a son.. and kept giving me money for him and stuff... rolleyes anyways. this boy's older brother was adamently homosexual wanting to marry. he married in antoher state... well, strangely enough.. the following summer he was killed in a tornado incident.. this is unusual where i live. we do get touchdowns... but, they aren't usually the way it happened when that guy died. when i heard about it.. i just knew that was a judgement on him... my uncle... was diagnosed with cancer.. originally given at least six months.. all of a sudden the cancer went crazy and killed him in six weeks... everytime they thought he might get better; he got worse.

now, one summer i was a nanny in between semesters for a lady from my college. she was into witchcraft.. i forget how we found out.. but, everytime we would talk about the naem of Jesus Christ.. she would wince. i'd catch it.. and sometimes i'd try to structure talks so she'd have to say it.. and it was amusing to me... cuz you could tell it was the worst thing to her she would say.. she would rather say teh worst of cussing than say his name...

oh yeah. well, ok. see, i made reference to my dad and one of his brothers. maybe i should also point otu the fact my dad has four brothers and two sisters. his dad was a mason, three of his brothers are or have been gay, his oldest sister suffers from a never ending crusade to make everyone feel sorry for her at the expense of her parents who are both now passed. I mean.. we were at my grandma's funeral last fall, and my aunt is up there saying a bunch of bs about how blessed seh is. and i was like.. how inappropriate. we are talking about my grandma, not you.. everything isn't about you ok? geez... anyways. i find it extremely odd that out of a family that big that so many boys were like that. It is my personal opinion that they were messed with as very young boys... and as in those days noone was open enough to discuss stuff.. it was left alone. the only one out of all his brothers who's entirely normal is the youngest. and God bless his soul.. might be because the others were out of the house by then. but, the next from the youngest brother.. it came told to my mom that my dad molested his younger brother. actually, his younger brother and younger sister were both molested frequently by the oldest two brothers. i mean.. when you think about that.. that is a lot of messed up crap. i mean.. it's just not healthy or normal for these kind of things to go on under one household. it has always been my conviction that a very awful thing happened there from a young age. and.. as these men grew up, only one of them didn't go into homosexuality... but, he is still kind of odd nonetheless... and my dad's brother who was molested by the older ones... he is married and straight earlier on.. then for a long time did go gay.. and even went as far as crossdressing. then the Lord I believe gave him aids. I know people say that's a harsh thing to say.. adn most people refuse to believe the Lord actually puts stuff like that on people. But, don't be deceived.. tho jesus is a God of love and mercy.. there is also judgement and punishment to those who have been taught to know better.. yet they turn and do what they want. they are then at the mercy of sin taking over their lives.. adn not protected by his love anymore... anyways.. my uncle was HIV positive for a long time.. but his wife hung in there and kept praying.. geez. i always think to myself the kind of woman she must be and the strength of her heart. she had to want to give up and feel like it was hopeless.. but she kept praying.. and eventually, my uncle repented and left that lifestyle and came back to the Lord.. and since he's been back to the Lord. the only health problems he has is keeping his weight on.. but, the HIV has all but cleared up...

and.. whenever the Lord is working with my dad.. he slaps him with kidney stones.. i've seen it... man.. soon as my dad starts developing them. i think to myself.. oh boy... someone's in trouble... sweatdrop

and, i'd like to also remind people that the bible does say whom the lord loveth; he chastiseth... when we are his children.. adn we mess up.. sure he loves us.. but that doesn't free us from being disciplined and corrected... he will use whatever means necessary to wake us up to the wrong in our lives.. and for people who refuse to respond to that.. he will eventually just let them go...

I was raised in a christian home and its hard for me to get interested in a story that circles around witchcraft. same goes for Sarbina the teenage witch, charmed and witching movies.
but I did use to watch Angel, seems to me it was not soo much about heavy witchcraft as it was about spirits.

Harry potter makes me twitch, Lol. I really used to be into all that spirit stuff's. But during that stage I learned doing witch craft , meddling as people would call it. Makes nothing good come out. Black, grey, white, magic IS ALL BAD. It even say's so in the bible. "For you shall not stay in the presence of evil and wickedness" I'm pretty sure thats what one of the verses say's.

Though; scarey movies do inice me to prove people who believe this crap....to learn more and more about Jesuse Christ. I went to watch white noise with my non-christian friend. Who btw is into witch craft and wicka. She found it funny and said that spirits cant harm you and that there not real. WELL she has some new's coming to her; they are real and if you let them in they'll consume you like a lion.

Infact: My preacher 'Paster Brian' Has had past experiances with witches worlocks. He say's magic and all that stuff is real, so are hobits and witches and worlocks. Male witch, female witch, and a small person. Now, for those of you who do not believe that you CANT get possesed are very wrong. Paster brian had to de-poses a pour 5 year old, who took down a rather large female. .....

You make some good points Chase! I like your reasoning. I dont like Harry Potter but I dont see it as detrimental to a believer, unless of course the believer finds it detrimental. It's hard to judge this book because I haven't read it and my older bro likes the series alot. I choose not to because it's too much of a hype..
