I think the problem with the one we have is that so many new characters and plot threads were introduced all at once that nobody knows what's going on any more. I'd do a short chapter where a sort of over-character - a creator figure of sorts - looks through the plot threads and characters and sort of neatens things up a little. So unnecessary things get trimmed and continuity issues are sorted and so on.
