Gavin's smile faded quickly, he knew he shouldn't waste time asking what the noise was. He grabbed Luka and retreated inside of the decaying house, where the coppery smell of his mother's blood invaded their nostrils. His doll was on it's feet and followed quickly.

Luka covered her own mouth with her hands as they watched the light soldiers pass. they're covered in white armor that reflected light into her eyes.

Gavin stayed silent until they were gone, then turned to Luka. "Who are they? What are they doing?"

Gavin pulled his legs to himself, wrapping his arms around them. He expelled a yawn, then spoke. "What are you doing out here all by yourself anyway? You don't look like the type to wander alone."
