The idea of making a Nerdy Magazine or something along those lines strikes me.
"A magazine for nerds by nerds!"
We could talk about games, anime, gadgets, etc. It could be sometihng to have fun and make money with.
My idea is very loose so if you guys like it we'd have to polish it ALOT!

Chibi Kawaii-chan There are a couple of not-really-games that have no MMO-style combat and are all about socialising. But I feel the main problem with this idea is that your most experienced programmer has "learning to program" on their curriculum vitae. razz T.T It's true! IT'S ALL TRUE!!

My idea is very loose so if you guys like it we'd have to polish it ALOT! it might fit in later once we get started. ATTENTION! I know it may seem like i'm not paying much attention to this, but i'm looking things up, seeing what might make or break our buisness, trying to find something that would be signature to our group... so far nothing has come to mind. but I did just now think of one idea, and it will be totally awesome. OK here is the setup I see: 1. our main theme for our website is to have a massive list of friend codes, we will store them all in many different ways, and allow the exchange of them in forum topics! I think this would be a quick way to get advertisers in and paying us some cash. 2. hold tournaments and or have special prizes for random people every now and then. this would draw in lots of people. and give us something to do... namely, game and call it work! XD we could slowly build off of that, but I think this will be our one true buisness. the name i'm thinking would be perfect, and its not taken, is: wififriendcodeexchange.com dun click it if its a link! it dunsn't exsist yet! so yeah I just got us an awesome idea, it hasn't been taken by a stand alone website. as in its only being done by large companies not just companies dedicated to this one thing. and yeah Like I said we could build off of this, even offer jobs to other culties later on! so tell me what ya think. do you think I HAVE THE POOOWWWWEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (of grayskull lol)

I love the idea, minus two things.
I think it'd be a good idea to leave room for expanding, so it's not ONLY friend codes, as it's a limited goods.
Once you put them all out there, they're gone.
And then the hits go down, and then the advertisers stop paying.
Second of all, the name, it seems realy complicated, it's straight to the point, but maybe something more...Catchy, like a title, rather then exactly what it is.
This is just speculation, however, so don't take it to mind.

I got a few other ideas: wifiexchange.com onlinegamingcentral.com help pitch ideas! I'm not sure if i'll affiliate the n-cult, I probably will in which case n-cult could be part of the title. hopefully gaia would pay us. that'd be cool. but yeah give a few more suggestions. then i'll put the first ten up in the poll and we can see what the cult thinks.

I'd totally help out, but I can't really do much.
I can still do some things with what I have though.
I can draw. (Kinda)
Sprite edit. (On MS paint, see my signature? Did it myself! totally serious.)
Gif animate. (Low to Middle quality)
My friends say I'm patient with others, so maybe customer service?
I dunno, whatever.

I hate to rain on your parade, guys, but that idea sounds impractical. Gamers are already exchanging friend codes like crazy on big gaming forums, e.g. GameFAQs, Gamespot, and so on, and so on. Those sites are so much more than a forum, too. What incentive do people possibly have to suddenly start going to your forum and stop visiting the ones they've been going to all along?
I've seen this too many times. People make a forum and hope to get it uber popular and super successful, and it never works out. It never works out if it's just a forum. You'll need a fantastic website to back it up, at the very least.
And exchanging friend codes with strangers? The games where you would be interested in doing that already have some kind of random matchup function. I only want to know my friend's friend codes. I don't really care about every else's.
The idea might work if you do it with a lot of flair and it's not just a forum, so you had better go and learn php pretty quick.
