Kampur's eyes narrowed. She didn't even have to try to guess that they were fighting. "It's fine." she grumbled in reply to the man that had tripped on her. Her hold on her rod tightened as she saw the creature they had been fighting crumble away. "Hi." she said to Rain and to the other being. She didn't take offense to the man's comment, though it worried her that perhaps that where ever she was, they had yet to be effected by the portals. "Where exactly am I?" she asked hesitantly as her skin began to change from a bueish white to a deep tannish color.

Rain blinked, not exactly sure how she pulled off turning into a female of his own species. "What..." Then he shook his head a little. "Uhhh... You're in a hotel.... in the middle of nowhere... Now when you say 'here', do you mean this place? Or do you mean... this world?" Rain took a chance, never having seen clothes like she was wearing. They were very strange, but yet he could tell that her transformation was almost completely perfect, if she hadn't changed in front of him, he would have never had a clue. She even hunched over a small bit, he was tempted to ask her if she could use the new wings on her back, but he was at a loss for words.

((Only the color of her skin changes. She can't grow extra appendages. Unless you guys have no problem with that.))

"Kinda...both." Kampur replied, her hopes of not sounding too odd dashed. For a moment she thought about making up a tale about being kidnapped or something, but she decided against it. Until her skin had changed color, every bit of her reflected the fact that she wasn't from that planet, and that she was ill equipped for any sort of harsh surroundings. Her clothing, which consisted of a loose, flowing, bright blue shirt and pants, resembled pajamas, and she wore a pair of sandals on her feet. At the very least, now, her clothing was the only thing that stood out.

Siirioc's eyes widened slightly as the new arrival's skin changed color. An Aerdian? No..wrong number of fingers...but that doesn't mean she's not an Aerdian. But they don't teleport! he pondered. "Errr...you're in Ketarhr...how did you not know this? Are you from...another world?" Siirioc inquired awkwardly. He put his falchion aside, his eyes still fixed on Kampur. "Regardless of your origin, I am Siirioc," he finally said, waving at her in greeting. Her odd style of clothing still puzzled Siirioc, who had never seen such style before. "Where...did you get those clothes?" he eventually asked.

"Regardless of where you came from, it would be best if you could use that teleportation device of yours to get you back to your home. You have come at the worst of times to this world. It is dying ever so slowly over the past 4 years due to a strange sort of magic that infected our desert. Soon people began to disappear, my parents among them, and strange creatures, and sorcerers have been spotted on many occasions through out the past few years. I would come with you, but I must find my loved-ones before I would ever make such a trip... I cannot shake this feeling that they may yet still be... alive..." Rain paused for a moment and rebalanced himself, seeming a bit dazed. "The desert has been growing... and if something is not done, this world will become the wasteland of no return... The people will live in fear, and the Necromancers will hunt them until all of them are turned into Sand Demons... Dear lord...."
Rain sat on the ground, beginning to sweat. He had been through a little too much for one day, and his body was beginning to crave rest. "I apologize... it's been a very long day... and I have not yet rested..."

Kampur wasn't sure which question of Sirrioc's to answer first. "Well...at the very least I'm from a different planet. Since I don't know much about your planet, I can't really say I'm from a different world...you know?" she finally said. Her vision was now cleared up and for the first time she could actually see the two beings in the room with her. Their appearences were quite different from what she was used to on her home planet, but lately she had gotten used to seeing strange and abnormal species as she helped them back to their homeland. "I got this clothing from the station I work at...probably quite a few light years away from here." she continued.

"My name is Kampur, and it's a pleasure to meeet both of you. But, I'm afraid, I can't get home. Not yet at least. The device that allow's me to travel from one planet to another only works when I get the right co-ordinates it and currently I have no idea where your planet is situated in it's systems." Kampur knew a very easy explanation as to why people had begun to disappear and why their lands were turning into deserts, but the creatures and the sorcerers were beyond her knowledge. "Then you should rest. Perhaps, since I may be here a while, I can assist you in finding your relatives."

"Light years away? How did you manage to travel that distance?" Siirioc asked, awed by the sheer distance she seems to have traveled. But he still listened to what she had to say next. "Wait...a device? A teleportation device? How could such a thing be? Few people are anywhere near understanding psychic teleportation, let alone technologically induced teleportation!" he ranted. He couldn't help but stare at this strange person. I've never heard of anything like this. This Kampur is...a unique person, to be sure... Siirioc pondered.

Once rested, Rain began to pack up his things. "We'll travel better by night. I don't know what world you come from, Kampur, but I hope you have brought a good weapon with you. The desert will not be merciful, even to a new-comer, in fact it could concentrate on you if it so desired, and something tells me, it will. The desert we are about to cross will lead us to my home, Deinoforaum. It occurred to me that I never really searched that place as thoroughly as I had liked to... thinking immediately that the desert had taken them. Now I want to leave no stone unturned..." He put his satchel on his back and opened the door. "Are you ready?"

"Well, that just shows me I'm even farther from home than I thought." Kampur said, almost to herself. At the very least, though, they seemed to know that there were areas that possesed such technology. "What do you mean when you talk about the desert like that? Do you mean the creatures that live in it? Or do you mean the desert itself?" she asked Rain. She hadn't brought any real 'weapons' with her, just her Rod, which was more a defensive than offensive item.

"Well, we'll have to find you something to equip you with. Can she borrow your sword, Sii?" He said, looking at him, knowing he could wield the cross. "She could probably wield that with some proficiency."
The desert was especially hot that day. Their travel was slowed by very steep dunes that seemed to get taller every time they crossed them.

Siirioc sighed, and then handed his falchion over to Kampur. Soon afterwards, he went to his room to retrieve his cross, and he strapped it to his back again. "Let's go to that blasted desert, then..." Siirioc eventually said.

The desert was not any more appealing to him this time around, and he still gazed at the sand with resentment. "I hate this place. I've mentioned that, haven't I?" he blurted unhappily.

Mapur took the weapon in her hands. The look of it alone was much different then what she had been trained to use, not to mention the feel of it. "But..." she admitted "This is a heck of a lot better than a light show of sorts." After inspecting the weapon further, she followed Rain and Siirioc out into the desert.

She squinted as the bright light bounced off of the sand. She was thankful for her cool attire as the tempurature was high for her taste. "How long do your days and nights last?" she asked, anxious for the sun to set so she could see if any of their constelations were familiar to her.

"Nights usually last around 5 hours, then around 4 hours. Days last for a long time. Usually around 15 or 16 hours. Depending on the time of year." Rain said, then looked over a dune to see some of the sand moving on the other side. "What is that?" Rain said, looking closer. "Sii! Look at that."
PostPosted: Sat Dec 01, 2007 2:53 pm

"Hmmm? What?" Siirioc said as he peered at the figure in the distance. As it came closer, he could see it was generally human in shape. But it seemed to be covered in sand. Furthermore, its legs were not moving, and instead the sand itself seemed to be dragging it along. "What the?" Siirioc blurted, somewhat dumbfounded.

The figure eventually came closer to the group. It definitely was shaped like a human, but this creature was covered in sand and had exaggerated features, making it look demonic. "HAHA! I have found more humans! Shall I kill them? Yes!" it spoke in a deep, menacing voice, to no one in obvious view.

"Who are you talking to? Wait...I think this guy is a Servant of the Sand..." Siirioc pondered, turning to the group. The Servant shifted his posture as Siirioc mentioned that phrase.

"You know what I am, then? I shall have to kill you especially! Prepare for death!" the Servant shouted, and the sand around them seemed to come alive, forming giant arms, already swinging towards Siirioc, who leaped up high in the air. Another arm swatted at Rain and Kampur.

Kampur shaded her hand with her eyes and looked over at the moving object. "What's a Servant of the Sand?" she asked the two, not liking the sound no look of the creature.

When the arm came towards them, Kampur dodged it by rolling to her right. In the same motion, she was back on her feet with Siirioc's sword at the ready.

((That's all I've got for now. Sorry))
