Wow, thank you. biggrin Made myself a list of places to go, & wow... still need to hit 70. xd

I'm finding people are less & less trusting of paly tanks. I have to start my own groups, because most times when I ask to join others than need a tank, they don't want a paly. Booo. And I still get a crapload of people asking me to heal.

Worst thing that's happened recently was I got into a group as a tank, we needed a healer. What does the leader do? Finds a Prot warr & expects to be fine with healing. WTC. I left so damn fast. lol

your welcome =). yeh i get people whispering me quite alot asking if i'll heal in their raid or something even when they're standing like right next to me they don't realise im prot even when im wearing obvious tank gear like suneater.. but i've been lucky and found a casual raid guild that suits me nicely, they raid kara every night and if you dont want to go it's fine by them, plus they actually appreciate my tanking and i usually main tank, we got up to aran last night but he pwned us alot, got him to 68% but first ever guild kara run so it was a good attempt.

you'll find when you hit 70 people wouldn't expect you to heal if your prot spec because they actually have a brain and know that it'd be completely impossible for you to cope. that leader needs a good slapping. you don't have to start your own groups but just to make sure you should ask for leader as soon as you join for marking and /readycheck just so they can't kick you =P.

Paladins in 5 mans are awesome. In raids, I wouldn't let one MT. They take way too long to build up enough aggro for the dps to start moving, and with no way to taunt, in some fights s**t can get ugly.
Right now in my guild, our MT is a pala, and hes really good at tanking. But sometimes...it doesnt matter what he does, its his class that limits him.
If you're a prot pally that knows what you're doing you should be fine for like 80% of the fights pre-BC and BC, but sometimes you just need a warrior or bear.

I'm getting better at tanking. I had two really fun runs last night with four 70s of two guilds through Sethekk Halls & Mana Tombs. It was super-easy, & I managed aggro pretty well (which is hard against a 70 warlock, rogue & enhance shammy). I hate pulling with AS when there's a Sap though. >_< It's like playing roulette basically, but I'm kind of getting the hang of where it'll bounce. Except when there's a critter nearby. I ******** hate Blizz for putting critters by mob groups. emo

and as to the topic.......i think pally tanks are the best form of tank domokun the abilities they have to hold agro,dot aoe, healing and rezzing...if a guild doesnt accept them they must be very very close minded....in comparison to ret and holy i think its the best spec.....but then again i havent been able to play for 5 months so i dont kno if they've been nerfed or not rofl

AS will be your best friend in normal shattered halls... Once you get some good spell damage gear, and decent tanking gear that place is a dream come true. And that's how I became known to the puggies as a good tank on my server. Amazing how people will drool at the fact you tank the whole pulls with no CC. It's fast and easy, people will love you for it. Now when I go to SH normal for fun I scare my group half to death. I pull as many elites as I can group up and just aoe them down. Best group I ever went into SH was Prot paladin, warlock x3 and resto druid.

I don't care much for CC ;p It's annoying to step out the way just to leave it up.

Paladins game threat based on holy damage. Every time they are hit they deal holy damage. On pull, avengers shield is massive threat. Consecration is holy damage. Holy shield is holy damage.

Paladins have a taunt.

The majority of raid bosses are untauntable anyway...

ok you must be playing with some crappy paladins.... straight from pull i get 5k aggro then go up 1.5-2k aggro per like 2 seconds or something, and paladins are renowned for their ability to produce the most aggro out of any other tank classes and hold it... if you meet a pala who struggles to keep aggro with similar or slightly better geared people in their group tell them to respec or reroll because they suck. the only time when it's acceptable that they're struggling a bit is if a dps has got full epics and they have less than half epics..

I <3 Resto druids so. Priests always let me die/die themselves, same with shammies. Other palys are reliable though. But Tree druids > all.

And I hate CC as well. I can manage my aggro fine, except sometimes CC can mess me up. Especially sheep. Can I help it if sheep wander over my Consecrate? Not really. >_< Can I help it that my AS seems to magnetically attracted to critters & Sapped targets? No... lol But mages/rogues seem to take offense at breaking their CC. ;_;

My SH/MT runs were all epics (everyone else) & me (absolutely no epics). rofl

And woot woot, Platinum Shield of the Valorous is mine! biggrin Another awesome all-70 group, & the really nice thing was half of us got booted when the boss was at like, 3%, & the two left waited for us to get back to loot. <3 Sadly, the second boss kind of made everyone kill me, then the priest. <_<;;

I think I'll go after Crystalforged Sword next. :3

Paladins tank just fine at low levels, I find, the problem is keeping them co-ordinated enough with the rest of the group to stop everyone trying to DPS at once.
2 level 27 paladins (one of whom dinged 28 almost immediately), a level 24 shammy, a level 24 mage and a level 20 warrior. One paladin forgot to use their blessings, the warrior tried to tank, the paladins drew the aggro instead because of the level differences and no-one manged to heal fast enough when we got jumped by a fast respawning mob. After the wipe, we wised up and the higher of the 2 paldins stuck to healing instead and we went just fine.

Basically, I think they can tank, but it helps if they remember all those nice blessings they've got.

lower level tanking doesn't even require the tank to use a sheild or wear tank equippment.... so i don't really think that example can be used to judge paladin tanks, i agree in earlier levels its best for the pala to heal in instances and let a warrior tank, because palas dont get good enough tanking abilities earlier on compared to warriors. and the whole forgetting to give blessings thing, they're new to the class so it's hard to remember to rebuff all the time and blessings dont really show how good a tank they are.

I haven't seen it on Destro before, but I imagine it'll be around 200-400g. Destro's economy = hell.
