Yuffie gave a little pout. "Fine! One scoop then." She replied grumpily, but soon smiled again to keep Rufus' good mood.
As soon as the pair were in the ice cream parlour, Kuja slowly slunk away from Vincent, heading towards the counter. "Since I asked, it's my treat. Tell me what you what and then go find a table for us."
He knew the pair was around but did his best not to take too much notice.

Walking up to the counter he began placing his and hers order. Quickly though he noted the arrival of Kuja with his 'brother'.
For godsake couldn't HE find somewhere else to go on his little date? Thinking about it a bit he grimaced and then let out his breath. How else was Vincent suppose to get 'jealous' if he wasn't here?
Paying for the ice cream he waited for the server doing his best to ignore the other teen.
"I don't like ice cream. I never did as a child so you may get whatever you wish. I will just wait for you to eat it." Vincent replied before moving off to find himself a seat.

When Vincent had appeared, Yuffie couldnt help but give an excited sound, her legs kicking all the more under the table. Vincent ws here! So that must mean that he was jealous!
"Fair enough." Was Kuja's answer, still smiling as he turned to the counter once more.
"Hello Rufus." He said in a polite manner, even if Rufus was not being as well mannered. If he didn't want to speak then so be it. He'd atleast try and talk with the other teen.

"Kuja." was his response as he recieved his order. He was even able to bring a fake smile to his face as he walked past. There was no way Kuja was going to show him up in public.
Hearing and seeing Yuffie's excitement he couldn;t help but roll his eyes. All this over one stupid crush he thought as he set the ice cream down in front of her. Despite being angry about her double scoop idea hehad gotten it anyways for her.
Taking a seat close enuogh that he could see the other two but far enough away that they could remain out of earshot Vincent played his part well. He might even seem jealous of their interaction if a certain young girl was watching.
He'd do his best so she could leave Rufus alone from now on.

"Thank you Rufus! You are such a gentleman!" Yuffie squealed in delight at the sight of her ice cream, obviously not expecting Rufus to get her double since he was being a grumpy head.
Maybe she'd of liked him if he was less moody about the little things! She quickly dug into her ice cream though, not wanting to make Rufus wait too long after all, her eyes keeping contact with Vincent close by just to see how he'd be. "Mmm! Tastes good!"
Kuja soon reyurned with a single scoop of strawberry ice cream in a tub. He was still watching his figure after all, and Vincent probbaly didn't want to stick around for too long. Sure you wouldn't of liked a drin, Vin?" Kuja smiled.

Drawing in a deep breath rufus did his best impression of finding the entire date delightful. Why would Yuffie have thought that seeing her with him would make Vincent jealous? If she was looking for an ugly turn out she should have asked Reno. Now that would have gotten a truer reaction.
"Yuffie don't you think you should have asked Reno out if you wanted him to be truely jealous? They dated remember?" he said after he finished his first bite of ice cream.
"I am fine thank you. I had just finished eating when you found me." Vincent replied ina calm even tone as he watched his brother and Kuja's sister with weary eyes. He missed having a good time with friends.

Yuffie paused in her eating, giving the blonde an odd look that seemed to say "Are you crazy!?"
"Why would I take Reno out? He's my dumb borther afterall! He's not really good for anything unless you wanna pick on him or something.. He wouldn't be any fun anyway with how he's been, it's easier to pick his pockets because of it!" She stated before taking big bites out of her ice cream.
"Well, your choice I suppose." Kuja smiled, tilting his head and glancing over in Rufus and Yuffie's direction as he ate some of his ice cream.
"Seems like they're having fun, hmm?"

Shrugging Rufus went back to eating his ice cream. Just seemed logical to use the person his "brother" had feelings for against him as opposed to himself which Vincent could care less about.
"Just seemed more logical." he said absent mindedly. He couldn't care less what yuffie chose to do in her spare time as long as it left him out of it from now on.
"Seems so." Vincent replied quietly. Thinking for a moment he asked curiously "Does it hurt to watch him like this?"
His careful eyes watching for every reaction to the seemingly innocent question.

"Well.. I suppose it is, but it's my brother ya know, so it'd be VERY weird if I went out with him." He little nose scrunched up at the thought of it.
That would of been very creepy... Yes... Disgusting infact! "But then again, if he would get jealous over me being out with Reno, it'd only be because he's with me! To make sure that it's me he's getting jealous over, it's best I go out with another guy, hm?" She grinned, taking another bite.
Kuja seemed flustered for a moment, casting his eyes down and trying to keep the smile on his face, even if his hurting feelings were shown through his deep blue eyes. "Well.. Not exactly since it's only Yuffie and.. Well, she's really not his type and she's much too young... But I can't really help the choices he makes anyway."
He attempted to look back up with the happy face he had dorned before, only messing with his ice cream now instead of eating it.

Eating the rest of his ice cream Rufus thought about it for a moment before replying "Yes but he'll know I would not date you. I am involved with a very beautiful woman. There is no reason for me to find you interesting. Logic dictates you won't get a clear answer from this little venture."
Folding his arms on the table he leaned on them. He knew it was bad manners but what did he care, he was out with a child who likely did it herself.
"You'll make a mess." Vincent said in response to Kuja's broken reply. A carefully blank expression met the uncertain eyes of the teen as he stared straight into them.
Guess this wasn't what the teen had bargained for when he had asked him out.

"Involved, eh?" Yuffie blinked, thinking this over in her mind. Huh, she had not realised that Rufus had moved on now.
"Sooo... Ya never gonna get back with Kuja?" She asked only loud enhough for Rufus to hear.
"Oh, yes, I probably will.." Kuja smiled as a reply to the blank face.
Giving a small sigh, he did his best to eat the ice cream as quickly as possible without getting a headache. "Such lovely ice cream, always nice for a treat."

"Kuja and I have moved on. We decided that we weren't meant for one another." Rufus replied in the same monotone he gave everyone that asked that question.
It wasn't any of their business so why did they keep asking?
"Why don't you fight for him?" Vincent asked once it seemed that the teen would simply go on with the evening. The small beast in his mind craved the shocked and almost hurt expression he had seen earlier so now it was more of a compulsion to ask then an actual curiousity.

"Oh, okay! Well, I guess you guys can start being friends if you've moved on, huh?" Yuffie grinned, not quite aware of the whole story behind it all.
It was just so tense when the pair were round one another and someone else happened to be there. Best make up and forget about it and just move on or whatever. Grown ups were silly sometimes!
Quickly finishing her ice cream, she smiled triumphantly, holding her hands in the air. "All done! That was great! Thank you!"
Kuja seemed to freeze as he stared straight into Vincent's face at what he said, the smile still there and more staring in curiousity rather then hurting. "Because he has already shown that he's not into males. It's unfortunate that I don't particularly look like what I should be, but that's how it is."
Pushing what was left of his ice cream aside, he clasped his hands together and placed them on the table politely. "It would only cause more pain, especially if he's found someone else already."

"Ready to go?" Rufus asked looking at the now empty hands. If this date could be done and over with he could get back to doing what he wanted. Not to mention it allowed him to avoid that silly little girls earlier question.
Casting a quick glance over at the other couple he noted the uncomfortable aura about them. None of his business.
"So then what you are saying is that you are afraid that he will reject you again. So because of that you will pretend that you don't have feelings that you do. Seems logical, I suppose, Please feel free to teach Reno about this, hmmm?" Vincent said as he came to a standing position. "Ah it would seem that my act is about to begin."
Moving away from the table he left Kuja to think about what he had said and went to where the other couple were. Reaching down he took Yuffie's hand in his.
"You shouldn't be out with the likes of him. His type will take advantage of young women such as yourself." he toned out calml as he picked up the small girl into his arms. "I'll take you home."

"Yea, in a min-" Yuffie cut short her sentence, a deep blush spreading over her features as her crush suddenly came over and offered to take her home. Her face showing that she was trying to keep in her girlish giggles of excitement as she was picked up. "Okay! Can we take the long route home? Cause I hear it's really nice when you take the long route home!"
She obviously wouldn't be looking at the view, just Vincent the whole way round.
Kuja only gave a small chuckle and a sighin response to Vincent's response, chosing not to answer. It wasn't like he had a choice not to movie since Rufus didn't like males what so ever in that way.
He continued to smile even as Vincent got up from his seat, remaining seated himself so he wouldn't ruin the illusion. He just watched, smiling all the more a Yuffie's reaction.
Reno would be so jealous if he saw.
