Irene smiled mechanically, nodding along as the two females conversed happily. When he realized it was time to leave the young noble stood up and followed, without saying any words. As soon as they stepped out of the diner, however, Irene reached out and pulled Crystal's arm (rather aggressively too, something he had never done before), and spun her so that she was facing him.
"Will you grant me some time to be spent with you alone?"
There was no names, not even titles, and Irene's eyes looked as if he was about to eat the poor flower girl. His voice was deep and hoarse, and within it a tone of authority, a tone that did not tolerate rejection. As soon as the words left his mouth, however, Irene pushed Crystal away so that the whole thing happened quickly enough to be not noticed by the child walking in front of them. He himself, however, did not move. Instead the young noble bowed and smiled.
"Thank you for the kind meal, my lady, little lady. I am afraid that it is time for me to depart soon. But I believe my lady will come to the social in the courtland tonight?"

One moment she was walking out of the diner, near Irene and behind the dancing Kaoru, and the next she was in the painful grip of the noble. Grey-blue eyes became impossibly wide, her lips parted in protest and surprise, although she had no time to do either as she was tossed to the side. Crystal was a creature of grace, and was able to catch herself with ease, but her expression was one of confusion, embarrassment and a touch of fear. What was this, all of a sudden? Was he demanding she visit again...?
The woman quickly wiped the expression off her face, if not only for Kaoru. "Kay, would you like to go see grandma and grandpa tonight?"
Kaoru whirled around, delicate face split with delight and excitement. "Oh, yes! I want some of grandma's apple pie~!" The child danced with more exuberance, giggling and twirling without having noticed the adults and their interactions.
Crystal turned her gaze to Irene, and it wasn't exactly happy. "If it pleases you, my Lord."

Irene smiled, although this time his smile wasn't exactly pleasant as it used to be. There was a hint of bitterness, even vengance in the smile, and the word came out sounding like a threat than a reminder.
"Of course I will be pleased, my lady. I hope to see you tonight at half past eight."
And without waiting for a response from Crystal Irene turned and walked away, almost stomping as he walked.
