Secret Entry: Sah

I know I shouldn't be using Akiya's journal to write down my concerns.. just like I know that he'll find this entry and ask me about it later, but this is the first thing I could find and I find that I need to say something now. So I'm sure that no matter what happens, it'll just happen.. I guess..

I'm really worried about Jiro.

He's become more withdrawn and anti-social lately, even here at home. And I don't understand it. He seemed okay. Akiya told me that he was okay.. but something tells me it's a bit deeper than that... and it bothers me. Jiro can get rather closed up at times, that's just normal from him. But when he draws away fromt he ones he seemed to be close to, it makes little alarms go off in my brain.

I'm sure Akiya'll tell me that maybe I'm digging too deeply into this and it is possible that I am. Maybe the constant finding him in different places other than home makes me worry a lot. He's not of my blood, but he might as well be. I still love him the same way I love my boys. There's no difference in that. Even Akiya says the same thing. He loves him just as much. So this worrying is expected I suppose.

Mou.. I'm really not good with writing down my feelings in these sorts of things. Normally, I rail at my mate to do something to help fix our baby, but I'm sure that he's just as lost and confused as I am. But I think he know smore about what's causing it then I do.. I might have to get on his case so that he tells me...

I just miss Jiro's smile. He doesn't do it often... but when he does....

*sighs* I'd better go make dinner now. I'm sure Jiro'll be famished when he gets home.

Entry Ten: Khia

Shouhin says I should write about everything. All the little things that might bother me or bring me happiness. So I decided to give it a try. This entry, I'll be speaking of my best friend, Khia. He is my main source of happiness at the moment, not to say I don't like the other people I know, it's just that I see him more than anyone else. Maybe cause he has the means to getting to me dimension without needing me to track him down and bring him there. I guess it also helps that Sy and Shouhin talk all the time so.. there we go.

Out of all the other Tales I've met (on happy or unhappy terms), he's the first one who didn't take my silence as a sort of rudeness and went ahead and talked to me. Not only spoke to me, but had a civil tongue in his mouth. Though I'm not skilled in these game things, which has become rather evident to me, he still just invited me out, cause he seemed to like my company. From that point on, I've been over at his place alot... hell that's where I found Hiromi and brought her home. She's grown so big now... Shouhin is still a bit uneasy, but Yuhin says she's adorable! Hunting with her and Mico is damn fun... I've been hunting with Khia as well and that was fun for a completely different reason. Why I'm not sure yet, but I do know that hunting alone has never been the same since.

Also, we think a lot alike, and I don't feel hesitant about telling him anything and everything, so all the things I think about, I tend to tell him.. if I haven't told Yuhin about it already. But not even that is truly a limitation. Maybe it's cause he's older, he gives me good advise.. and we're also plotting together. twisted It'll be fun. Also, he's helped me ground myself and when he stays over, we just talk. Yuhin already likes him and doesn't mind that he eats the same amount as the family.. easily XD

I also helped him out as well, getting him to meet Masaka, whose a shapeshifter like Khia! He and his two brothers are really awesome and I love to yank on their tiger tails *Snickers* Anyway >>.. he took time out to give Khia some pointers on his shifting so now he can do it without any pain on his part. I had been worried about that.. cause he hadn't been happy to hurt every time he tried to shift. Now, he can do it without any issues! It makes me really happy indeed. Maybe it's cause we're so alike that we get along.. we haven't fought, except for play, and we both think our parents are useful but sometimes, they're nothing more than an issue. Especially Sy.. but I think Khia has his own ways with dealing with Uncle *Evil giggle*

He's the most frequent guest I've had.. who I keep inviting over... but yeah I think this is long enough heh. I've explained why he makes me so happy. Maybe this is what Yuhin meant about making best friends... hmmph...

Entry Seventeen: A Wedding Invitation
Enoh and Nio's wedding?

It wasn't simple to get mail to the homegrounds, especially since the magic that swirled around the place often caused mail to be sent to places it wasn't meant to go, so to see a letter at their doorstep first thing in the morning made Sah curious. Who would honestly write to them anyway? Visiting was so much easier. Clucking his tongue as he knelt next to the letter, picking it up with nimble fingers. What... exactly... was it? Of course, Sah was a curious creature by nature so he had no problem opening the envelope and pulling out the small invite. "Hmm?" His eyes skimmed over it even as he stood and headed back into the house, pausing just in time as Mico and Jiro came racing through the front room. That was so typical.

Where was Akiya? He would wanna see this, especially since it was marked to him and Jiro. What was a wedding? Mating ceremonies were called something else by his kind so it sounded weird to him. Hell, he couldn't even say it! A little pout was on his lips as he felt Akiya's presence deeper into the house and he tracked him down, heading up the stairs to the seventh level, a place that was barriered off by powerful magic. Only Sah, as his mate and his children were able to use the stairs in order to get to his office. For everyone else, there was the golden elevator. The seventh floor itself wasn't truly considered a floor, since there were no doors or hallways. It was just a huge black expanse that seemed to drift off everywhere but nowhere at the same time. Akiya loved those sorts of things. He loved to be hidden in themost obvious of spaces.. but what was obvious to him was not so for others. But Sah walked through it confidently and found the door just as easily. He was used to coming this way to see him after all. Giving the door a light tap, he watched it open for him before he stepped inside, seeing him mate doing what he usually did after he had visited his fortress angelic home. Showering and scrubbing his skin hard enough to make it raw. "Yuhala..." *Yunhala means mate to Isshina*

Even with the hot water running full blast, he heard him and he stuck his head out of the glass door, looking at him. "Yes? What is it, musholen?" *musholen is a word of endearment to Akiya's angelic people*

"We got mail, it seems." As Akiya got out of the shower, yanking a towel around his waist and grabbing another for his hair, he padded over to him and peered at it while Sah held it up. "What is a wedd... wedling?"

"Wedding. It's a mating ceremony between a man and a woman." So it seemed it finally happened between those two. That's good. Looking over the date, he made a slight face. "Well damn, what horrid timing."

"Hmm?" As Akiya muttered, Sah turned the invite back to his gaze so he could look it over. Was something amiss with the paper? Had the steam caused the ink to run? "What's wrong?"

"It's on my birthday. We won't be here, remember?" Sah had actually planned a trip for them to celebrate Akiya's birthday, since the seme usually just stayed home and forgot he had a birthday. To him, there was no point since no one ever remembered it anyway. So Sah decided to show him that people could remember it and celebrate it, so he had plotted and schemed. He had even yanked some of the Elders into his plotting and they arranged it all with him. The whole family was going to go out and have a lot of fun together to celebrate the day of Akiya's birth. And the angel had promised to show him where his parents were buried so he was looking forward to finally getting to meet the people Akiya never was allowed to know.

"Oh... most regretful... what shall we do about it then?" It was too pretty a thing to waste.

"Well just... hmm.. I dun wanna toss it, so just stick it in one of my journals or something.. we can put it in one of our scrapbooks later. Sound good?" Seeing how happy that made Sah, he chuckled as he stroked his cheek gently. "Weird that mail reached up, huh?"

"Most definately! But you get dressed. Breakfast is actually almost ready, okay?" Afterhe pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, he put the invite away as requested before heading back to the kitchen. Though he wanted to at least write a note saying they couldn't go, he was positive the happy couple would understand. If weddings were like bonding ceremonies there would be tons of people there X3

Entry Eighteen: A new Friendship
Jiro meets Nalira

Jiro: *He didn't understand why he was doing this. Having a Shouhin who wanted him to get to know people was damnably annoying. Sighing, he pushed open the door to the Store and looked around. Didn't seem like anyone was there.. so he went over to his box of plushies and peered into it*

Nalira: *She never liked being social when she was younger. It was strange how quickly things change as you got older, how your mind evolves, forming into your personality. Letting out a soft breath, she watched as the little silhouette slipped into the Store, her eyebrow quirking with interest. Slowly, she made her way over to the door, slipping in herself, watching as the little one peered into

Jiro: *A new smell caught his attention, the slight breeze created when the door opening brought it to his attention. Stopping wha he was doing, he pulled himself up out of his box, allowing his feet to touch the ground as he turned to study the person who entered. Another Tale. The scent was so different than non Tales. And a girl. His bi colored eyes grew thoughtful before he decided to hell with it and bowed politely to her*

Nalira: *She was slightly shocked as he bowed. No one had ever payed her such respect, never. A smile pulled at her lips as she gently bowed down, only, in a less-masculine way.* "Hello, there. I, don't think we've met. I'm Nalira, it's ap leasure to meet you .. Oh, sorry. I haven't caught your name?"

Jiro: We haven't met as of yet. I'm called Jiro, the pleasure is mine, I'm sure *Being so respectful was definately not what he was used to, but at least this one had some sort of decency. Unlike some others >>* I think Khia might have mentioned you to me once... Are you here alone as well?

Nalira: *She let out a little sigh heavily, running her hand up and down her arm.* Well, yes. Some .. monsters, you might call them, have taken my mother away,a nd I fear they may have, well. It doesn't matter, but yes, I am alone. *She smiled slightly at the mention of Khia, nodding.* Yes, I know Khia. When I was, a little out of it, Khia made me feel a little better, along with Syrie.

Jiro: *His eyes looked rather sorry for her cause he wouldn't know what he would do if he lost Shouhin* Well, if you have friends, you're not exactly alone.. and I'm sure you'll find a way to be with your mother again... *That made him smile,t hat she knew Khia. After all, he was his best friend* Sy is an interesting kitsune >> but Khia is my best friend... if you're friends with him, then I see no reason why we cannot be either *He extended his hand to her, though it trembled slightly. Doing something so bold.. unnerved him a bit*

Nalira: *Nalira's half-smile changed into a true smile, and shee took his hand gently, shaking it.* Gladly. Hmm .. Syrie is interesting, yes. He seems to have alot wisdom, and he is certainly raising Khia wonderfully. You have a great best friend. *She nodded gently, entwining her hands together.*

Jiro: *His eyes widened slightly at the fact she returned the shake and his offer. It was something he hadn't expected so he smiled, an actual smile, at her as he shook in return and then took his hand back* Un, he seems to have this thing for trying to get me into female clothing... I have long hair *pointed to his huge bun* So.. >> yeah... Khia is a lot of fun. I never thought I could actually have a friend. So I'm very thankful for Khia's friendship. And now I have your's as well

Nalira: *She nodded slightly, then a small frown came to features. She slowly pulled herself to the ground, sitting indian-style on it's surface.* But, why wouldn't people want to befriend you? I mean, you're friendly, and nobel .. I don't understand.

Jiro: *That made him snort* I'm not always this nice... actually, I'm a bit more closed off. If you had met me sooner, you might have gotten a different reaction from me. *He settled onto the ground himself, his legs tucked under his bottom in traditional Japanese fashion* I suppose I come off as self centered and selfish... it's only cause of Khia I'm a bit more.. friendly I suppose...

Nalira: *She nodded understandably, sighing heavily.* If you had of met me a little while ago, I probably would have started yelling at you in another language. I can speak two. English, and .. well, I don't know the name of the other, but I can speak it fluently. I wasn't very social, and, well, I only had one friend .. Olivia, and that was only because she knew me when I was little.

Jiro: Ah, that would have been an interesting meeting I think... *He had a rather thick accent himself, and it was a bit strange however he was good at speaking understandably now* I know Japanese and English.. I'm trying to learn Latin.. it sounds interesting. Olivia... Khia mentioned her as well.. has she not been around much?

Nalira: *She shook her head slightly, giving a little sigh.* No, she hadn't .. I feel we're drifting. *She, too, had an accent, which had only started showing when she grew. It was a strange, deep irish one. Where it came from? Not even she knows.* Latin does sound wonderful. If I know learn any languages, it would be Latin, Japanese or Spanish.

Jiro: I hope you find her again soon.. to lose a friendship can hurt just as deeply as losing family... *He tugged lightly on a loose lock of hair as he nodded* Un.. hard and a bit confusing.. since I'm still learning how to write english, taking notes in lessons is a bit.. difficult heh

Nalira: I know what you mean .. *She said, nodding slightly.* So, I think I'll stick with my English, and, the other. *She pulled her jacket further over her shoulders, although, it wouldn't make any difference. Why she wore this jacket, no one knows. One of the sleeves was completley ripped off, baring her carved markings in her arm, and it wasn't very warm, but, she wore it nonethless.*

Jiro: Are you feeling cold? *Even though at first glance, his kimono seemed rather small, it actually was pretty big and he took off the first layer, leaving him in his black bodysuit as he draped it over her. Though it seemed thin, it was surprisingly warm. But, without the first layer, she could see the several tattoos he had. On the backs of his fingers and his chest though he had others*

Nalira: *She smiled softly, whispering a soft 'thank you', her eyes trailing over all of his tatoos. They looked rather good on him, she had to admit.* They're nice .. *She said softly, smiling.* I don't have an tatoos, only scars, which were carved into my arm with a knife when I was little .. *She winced slightly, remembering the event in which this had happened. Quite painful, it was.*

Jiro: Thanks... mine just appear for some reason.. but they always burn so bad. *When she mentioned how she got the scars, he slowly reached out and touched them, a faint spark erupting between his fingers and her skin* That had to be rather painful... but you're also very strong.. to be able to withstand such pain..

Nalira: Well, I didn't have much choice .. they were very strong, and, I was very young. I fell unconscious, and my mother and her friend came and saved me. Strong? Maybe .. but I highly doubt it .. Your tattoos burn? That's odd ..

Jiro: Well even so, to survive carving into yourself.. I'm sure there aren't many, especially if you did it younger than you are now, who could handle it.. *Nodding a bit, he rubbed his cheek* Only when they first arrive.. once the burning fades, it's fine.. though why I get them, I don't understand still...

Nalira: *She ponered this for a moment, but couldn't really come to a conclusion.* Yes, it is strange .. *She sighed heavily, gently pulling her vile from around her neck, staring at it.* I'm a little worried .. My vile, it contains my blood, and .. it seems to be becoming duller, and as it grows duller, I grow weaker ..

Jiro: Very much so. I hope to come to some sort of answer as I get older.. *His eyes focused on the vile, his brows drawing together in baffle confusion* I would be worried as well.. perhaps it is cause you are so worried about your mother? Was it this dull with her around?

Nalira: It was only a little dim. I, think .. I think my blood is connected to hers. I think that as they continue to tort- .. torture her, the blood becomes duller, and because it's mine .. I grow weaker ..

Jiro: Torture? Why are would they wish to torture your mother? *The very thought of it irritated him. They must be some kind of arrogant bastards in order to do something so rude as to hurt another person without just cause* I'm sure you two are connected...

Nalira: They are torturing her, to torture me. They took her, hoping I would follow, so they could take me and make me their queen. Break me, shake me, take over my mind .. *She sighed heavily* But, enough about my past .. Let's get onto a, happier topic?

Jiro: One must learn that force can never find any answers... if you ever need help in getting your mother back, I will help you. I'm sure my family will as well. They're very good with magic. *His fingers gently patted her head before he looked thoughtful* Happier topic? Like what?

Nalira: I'unno, anything but this. So, uh, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time, Jiro?

Jiro: In my spare time... I practice my shamisen, or my martial arts of calligraphy... if Khia's around, we pretty much do the same thing though we toss in hunting. My brother, well.. not really related, but like one, is a shapeshifter like he is. He's helping him learn how to control his gift more... that's basically it.. I'm rather dull heh

Nalira: No, you're not dull .. *She grinned slightly, thinking of what she does* I listen to music a lot. The lyrics seem to relate to me .. it soothes me when I'm feeling angry, or depressed. Hm, I enjoy reading, always have. Walking, thinking .. adventure. The usual ..

Jiro: I listen to music with lyrics sometimes... sometimes, they don't make a lot of sense, so instrumental music is soothing... what types of books do you read? *He loved to read as well so he wsa curious*

Nalira: Oh! Anything .. mystery, romance, murder, fantasy .. I love them all. I'm yet to find a book that I don't like, actually ..

Jiro: *That made him smile again as he nodded* Same for me.. there are a lot of books back at home and I just sit and read them all. Well the ones in languages I can understand, anyway.. maybe next time I'll bring some books along with me for you to borrow...

Nalira: Oh, would you? Thank you so much, you're the best! *She exclaimed, grinning, now suddenly very excited they had the same interests.*

Jiro: *Chuckling gently, he nodded. To be called the best made him rather amused. It wasn't something he heard every day, to be honest* Heh it's really not a problem. Shouhin always says I should share my reading materials more

Nalira: *She smiled slightly, pulling herself onto her back and staring at the cieling.* I'll bring some of my books too, then, I have a few ..

Jiro: Sounds like a fair trade to me. I'm always curious about reading books from other places... I'm sure it'll help broaden my horizons.. or some such rubbish *his nose wrinkled slightly*

Nalira: Heh, quotes. I hear them a lot, I assure you. So, which Tales have you actually met?

Jiro: I've meet Aido, Featherduster, Angelus *Shudders there, however, since Angelus was living at his place, the two were slowly but surely getting closer. It sucked muchly* Khia, naturally. Vidya.. Sylvester, Baka (Lyris) and the overly shiny one, Adonis.. so far

Nalira: Nice .. Featherduster? Oh .. Right. Tybalt. Yes, I've met him .. He has a, well, less pleasurable attitude. I've met Olivia, Khia, Vidya, Armel, Linneas brielfy when I was younger, Aido, Erza briefly, .. and Andrael whom I use to have a littel crush on when I was a child.

Jiro: Ah I met Linny when I first came.. I think I frightened him but he has a nice smell. Tybalt.. *He snorted, his gold eye flickering red a bit* He and I never spoke much, but I happened to be around to see how he is.. and I don't like his smell either.. There are some I've never met, only heard of from my Shouhin (father) and Khia when he makes mention of them.. I've be weary of Lyris, whom I call Baka. She has no issues trying to whack you with her lame little staff of hers.. the only decent thing about meeting her is meeting her cat

Nalira: Oh, hehe. I've seen that little black cat around, it seems fairly friendly, now that I think about it- .. Oh, gosh. *She shook her head a little, sighing heavily* I had a little .. black out moment. *She glanced down at her vile wearily, squeezing it in her hand gently*

Jiro: *His eyes showed a bit of worried concern as she held onto her vile* Are you low on energy? Does healing help you with these blackouts?

Nalira: No, unfortunatly. I've tried.. They ahve sent out a search party for my mother, I hope they find her soon. *She sat upright, brushing herself off softly.* Listen, thanks for talking to me .. it was really nice. A lot of, people, would have just walked off if I introduced myself ..

Jiro: Since i get the same reaction, I know how that feels... it hurts.. but one learns how to mask it rather well and not show that pain. *He stood with her, cause it was rude to do otherwise* I'm sure they will! As long as you never lose hope. I'm happy you spoke to me as well.. and I hope to see you soon, hmm?

Nalira: Mm. I'm not going just yet .. though, I just have to go and check something .. could you hold on a moment? *And with that, she disappeared off somewhere in the shop*

Jiro: Huh? Eto.. sure *Like he had a choice in the matter? Looking rather curious, he rubbed the back of his neck a bit. His blasted hair kept getting longer and was starting to strain his neck. Bleh*

Nalira: *She returned with a smile on her face, and grabbed his arm gently. In her hand she held a beaded piece of string, which contained several red, black and yellow beads. She gently tied it onto his wrist, biting the excess string off.* There. It's a friendship bracelet .. *She held out her arm.* See? I have on too ..

Jiro: *Letting her take his arm, cause he didn't sense any danger from her, he studied the friendship bracelet curiously, bringing it up close to his eyes to study it* It's pretty... *seeing how she had one as well, he grinned* So I see... *Looking thoughtful, he placed his hand on her upper arm and she felt rather warm before a tattoo matching the one on his face appeared there* There...X3

Nalira: *She grinned, clapping her hands together.* Thanks. It's really nice, now we both have matching braclets and tatoos. 8D ..

Jiro: hehe indeed. Tis always good to share gifts with friends. *He was rather pleased as well, tugging gently with his new bracelet* X3

Nalira: *She nodded, running her fingers over her new tattoo* Will it stay forever?

Jiro: As long as you wish it to. However, it's been known to randomly disappear so if you don't see it on some days, don't worry. It's still there

Nalira: *She blinked, nodding, then smiling.* Ach .. I think I better go .. I feel really weak, and, well, /I've/ been known to randomly faint on people ..

Jiro: Will you need any help getting to where you're going? I can make you a portal to anywhere you need to go.. it's much faster that way.. and so you don't faint between here and there

Nalira: Oh .. that would be nice, thank you .. You're really one of a kind. *She gently dipped down, giving him a soft hug, before retreating and giving him a smile*

Jiro: Arigato... *Was all he could think of to say. The hug made him hesitate but he did kinda return it before she pulled away. Taking off his locket, he extended it out to her* Just think of where your home is.. and it'll do the rest...

Entry Eleven: Viddy

Sometimes, I wonder about what would happen if I gave into this dark wishes of mine and went on a rampage. Would it be fun to just give in and let the dark hatred that boils so deeply inside me just have its way? Kill everyone and everything in sight? But in the end, what would that give me? Is that a truly save way to even think? I don't wish to give into that part of me, but sometimes it's so hard...

I'm sure I'm making my family worried with my mood swings and changes of mood. It's rather hard to explain how that works... it's like one second, I'm me. I'm fine and life is 'peachy and sunshine'.. and the next, that old rage I felt before has overwhelmed me again and all I can think about... well, to be honest. I'm not even thinking. It's not my thoughts that are running through my head or even my voice that comes from my mouth. It's rather freaky.. the things I hear that no one else can.

What will I become as I get older? Will I remain myself or will this voice continue to pick away at my weaknesses and defeat me? *sighs* I shouldn't think abot this more than needed. Maybe I should talk to Khia about this.. or something...

So, onto other topics. I've been getting that urge again. That wanderlust, I mean. I wanna go outside of Homegrounds and wander around gaia again. Maybe I can go visit Viddy again. It's been awhile since last I've seen her... I wonder what she's up to. Besides.. there's something I need to give to her. I wonder if she likes these kinds of things.

Oh well... only one way to find out, neh?

Entry Eighteen: The escape
Jiro's Midnight Stroll

The night was still young.. he loved midnight trips. Even though his parents never approved of him wandering alone.. but this time, he wasn't alone! He brought his large pet Hiromi with him. The wind was nice and cool against his face as he guided her carefully to Viddy's house, leaping around from rooftop to rooftop, cause it would ne hard to explain such a large creature to some people and it would definately ruin his whole operation. Placed in a small pack at his back, he had a little plushie of a mini samurai that he had made with Yuhin and a letter he had written himself. It had been awhile since he had last seen Viddy and he... well, he missed her. She was, after all, the second person he had felt like he could be comfortable around.

Since Shouhin had said it was okay for them to hang out, just never said when, Jiro took it upon himself to go see her now. But it would probably be too late again... and she'd be asleep or something.. crap >>

Upon reaching her home, he brought his ride to a gentle stop, rubbing the top of her head as they peered down at the house together. Was anyone gonna be there? Had he just wasted his time again?

Vidya, as tired as she had been lately, found herself tossing and turning in a frustrated attempt to get herself comfortable enough to fall asleep. Eventually she had given up trying, and had just slid halfly onto the floor, her heels still propped up against the mattress (and yet still managed to trap the bottom of her nightgown against the bed), her arms at strange angles at her sides and were tangled in her abnormally long white hair, as she stubbornly left her limbs and hair the way they had fallen.

"Stupid sleep." She muttered softly before pulling her legs off of the side of the bed and arcing them up and over herself in a sort of lazy roll, finding herself on her belly on the floor, her face buried in the carpet and in a tangle of white hair.

Eventually she picked herself up, crawling onto all fours to peer over the bed, making sure she hadn't disturbed her brother...hopefully she hadn't. That would be bad, of course...no sense keeping him up because she couldn't sleep. Seeing just his blonde hair and night-coloured wings, Vidya merely assumed he was asleep, and felt free to go over to the window...though she did tip toe the entire way.

Climbing onto a stool placed by the windowsill, she opened it as quietly as she could (which was difficult, but managable) and stuck her head out the window, dangling her arms in the cool air and resting her chin in the windowsill. Maybe it was just to hot in the house for her to sleep.

Her scent suddenly invaded his nose as a sharp wind swept up around them. Huh, there she was.. "Hiromi.." Tapping her sides gently with his feet, he got her to launch into the air to the ground, her large paws silently absorbing the impact as they landed. Viddy was still awake, even though it was late. Probably unable to sleep. Guiding her to the window where he could see her and he smirked. "Hey!" He called out to her loud enough so she could hear him, but not loud enough to wake up anyone. "Viddy!"

Vidya startled and squeaked upon hearing "Hey!" from someone...the voice she recognized, but currently couldn't place. Instantly, the blue child clamped her hands over her mouth, glancing back at the bed to see if Adonis had awakened yet...though as usual she was distracted by the same noise calling her name.

With her whimpering muffled by her hands, she slowly peered out of the window again, trying to focus her one good eye on whoever it was that was making the voice. With only one good eye, focusing in the dark was difficult. Eventually she had it, and suddenly the voice clicked with the tale.

"Jiro!" She called out excitedly, though as quietly as possible. "Jiro c'n't sleep?"

"Heh, I don't go to sleep at this time really..." giving Hiromi a silent signal, she shifted to the wall and pressed her paws on it, letting him climb onto her massive head to that he could be about eye level with Viddy. "I came by to visit, sorry about coming by so late... I wasn't sure when you would be home, so I ventured a guess..." He smirked a bit as he studied her. "You look well. Whatcha been up to?"

As he waited for an answer, he shifted the little pack he had to get ready to give her the gift he had brought along with him when he left. He didn't wanna give it to her just yet.. though he didn't know why he hesitated.

Donny was a relatively heavy sleeper, though he couldn't sleep a wink if he wasn't with his sister. It was simply a habit he had developed from the day he'd been brought here, and it would stay with him until he grew out of it and learned the value of solitude.

Be that as it may, Vidya's movements didn't disturb Adonis in the slightest. Her lack of presence, however.. that began to stir him. Once he was on the edge of consciousness, the voices he heard hushed by the window caught his attention. His bright eyes blinked opened, but for the moment he didn't move. Perhaps it was laziness, or the fact he was just waking up, or even perhaps because he wasn't sure whether he was dreaming or not.. but for whatever reason, he remained lying on the bed, his eyes open as he looked at the back of his sister.

Was she talking to someone? His wings stretched out lazily behind him, but it was his only movement for now. Was Tybalt outside? He grinned at the thought - perhaps it was a night for adventure!

Or perhaps this was a dream after all.

"Oh...When do yah sleep, den?" She inquired curiously, fighting a yawn. "N'sokay...Me's'all awake 'nyway. S'nice ta see you, Jiro!" She was still trying to be as quiet as possible, as she thought she heard Adonis move. Vidya was, however, too scared to look back and check...just incase. She might get in trouble, after all!

Vidya rubbed her eyes, leaning against the windowsill. It was so late and she was so tired but she couldn't sleep and now Jiro was here so maybe he could help her sleep! Maybe there was a trick to it or something. In anycase, she didn't tell him any of this...she just couldn't for some reason. "Viddy's good, yes yes. Um...'ve been playin I guess. Liiike...with uther tales...Oh! N' Mommy and Daddy got married! I dunno what married is, but there's lotsa people n' cake n' wine n' pres'nts n' pretty dresses...! Was fun, yes. N' Jiro? Whattcha 'ben up to?"

"Whenever I get tired... whenever that is hehe. Sometimes I stay awake for a couple of days just cause I'm not tired yet. " He was studying her carefully for a bit, already seeing that she was tired but needed something to help her get to sleep. But it wasn't like he would point that out. His Yuhin said it was rude. "Playing is good, I think..oh so there are more Tales now or something?" It wasn't like Jiro played often with other Tales outside of Khia and Nalira.. oh.. he had to see how she was as well. But right now, he was here to see Viddy so he would focus on her. "Good to hear so many happy things are going on for you." Married? His brow jacked up into his hair at the word. Married? What was that? He lives in a place were marriages were called matings so he had never heard that word before. That wwas something he would have to look up later. "Ooh, did you get to wear a pretty dress, Viddy? I'm sure you looked really pretty in it."

To him, it was the most natural thing to say. Viddy was pretty as far as he was concerned. He highly doubted that there was anything she would look bad in. He wasn't crushing on her, cause he said it with a straight face and there was no hint of a blush anywhere. It was like stating a fact. A very obvious one. "Me? Ano... just training. Learning how to write better than I do now... and learning how to make wooden chests and little boxes... nothing that exciting."

"Days? Vidya repeated in awe, staring at the boy infront of her. He could stay awake for days?! If that was true, Jiro was her hero, and this was why; "Viddy c'n't stay 'wake for days! Me barely make it withou' nappy..." She leaned her chin against the windowsill again, after checking back on Adonis, just incase. "Yah, more tales. Viddy met Udell n' Melly! Err...Armel. Both are boys, n' they both serious." She nodded sagely. "Udell bit a fairy!" Why, she had no idea. Then again, Udell was mad at her too for some reason...something about running right into him. She still didn't remember that.

"M'Idunno" She stated almost nonchalantly at his question of what Marriage was. "Somethin' 'bout rings n' shinies n' saying "Yes" n' wearing pretti dresses n' tuxes n' lots people. But Mommah n' Dadda are married now." She was happy about it because everyone else was, and since everyone else was happy, Marriage must have been a good thing! It looked good too, getting Married looked like fun! She wanted to try it one day...or so she just decided. "Viddy wore a pretty dress! People said me looked vurry pretty in dress...it was frilly n' white! Got to toss flower petals on a carpet too! Tha' was fun. Me wants ta get married someday too!"

She stopped suddenly, leaning her head to the side and just...staring at him curiously. "Jiro..." She started for a moment...but alas, she forgot what she was going to ask! Blinking at her own memory loss, she glanced around at the darkness...and then, with a gasp of remembrance, she looked back at her friend. "Whattcha doin' here in tha dark, again?"

"Hai. Days. Sometimes I get too into my training and I keep working, not really paying attention to the time. As long as I eat and have something to drink at the right times, I'm pretty good to go, for the most part..." A light smile showed as she explained how she needed a nappy and he lightly tapped her nose. "Well, not everyone stays awake for days, either. Most of my family sleep every night, same as you. I guess I'm just strange cause I don't." Listening to her speak of other Tales, he smirked a bit at the mention of Udell and Armel. Well well, they sounded interesting. "Biting a fairy? I don't think they taste very good..."

"It sounds rather chaotic when you say it like that..." The mention of lot sof people made his stomach turn and he made a face. If it was anything like that one party he had to go to for Linny's mommy's... thing, whatever it had been, he rather liked not knowing what this marriage thing was. "Well if you do someday and you wear a rather pretty dress, at least lemme see it once. Cause I'm sure that'll be something to really see."

Watching her stop in mid-thought and then stare at him had him a bit curious. Was there something on his face or something? His brows shifted up when she said his name but it looked like she had forgotten, so he relaxed and brushed some stray strands of hair out of his face. The question made him grin. "Came to see you, of course! It's been a long time so I was wondering how you were. And since I have the feeling you're busy during the day, I thought to come see you now."

"Does tha mean Jiro's crazy?" Vidya leaned her head to the side, a motion that was much too canine for comfort. "...'Ella said that people who're 'strange' are also crazy. So is Jiro crazy?" She felt the need to explain her question, giving him a bit of wisdom from her cherub-feminist sister. "Hai means yes..." She murmured sleepily, still able to recall this even now.

"Okay...Viddy'll tell Jiro before wearing pretti dresses. But what if you're not home?" She couldn't tell Jiro about her pretty dress if he wasn't home, after all! That would be bad...especially if he did want to see it.

"Oh." Vidya stated, almost as if she knew that all along...either that or she just wanted to make sure that he knew. Oh the mind of a child! "You c'n come durin' tha day, yanno...Me'll play with you durin' tha day." She smiled at him, extending the offer. She didn't have to see him at nighttime only, of course.

"Crazy? Some might say I am.. but I don't think being weird is a bad thing..So I'm very sane, just do things my way, that's all." Smirking as she recited that, his eyes grew soft as he stroked her cheek gently. "You remember. I'll teach you what good evening is. Listen carefully." Leaning towards her ear, he whispered the word konbanwa into her ear over and over so she could learn it. It was always best to learn new languages when one is half asleep.. the mind retains it better for some reason. "When you sleep, it oiyasumi nasai... but I'll say it to you later.."

"I'll be home. It's not like I really go anywhere else hehe so you can send me a message there and I'll definately come. I would like to see you in a pretty dress sometime." There weren't many girls that Jiro would want to put himself close to, but Viddy and now Nalira were nice to him.. Lyris was something else completely.

"I also came to give you something..." He pulled out a small wrapped bundle and then a letter. "I wrote you a letter... if you can't read it.. then you can ask your mom to read it.. or something." At the offer of coming by during the day, he smiled and nodded. "Sure.. just lemme know when would be a good time to come visit and I'll do so.. I feel bad only seeing you at night.. but I didn't wanna be a bother to you..."

"Jiro's crazy." Vidya giggled out, though her giggles were cut short by another yawn. The blue child had lifted both of her fists to rub at her eyes, though she was still listening. She wasn't being rude, honest! She was just a tired toddler. However, for an unexplained reason, this particular toddler had a sudden and VERY brief mental image of her best friend and Captain, only he wasn't smiling...he was angry, she could tell by his expression and by the ruffled feathers...not to mention she could feel her heart skip a beat, as if he really was angry with her. This image, coupled with Jiro's gentle brush to her cheek caused her to startle...and out of reflex, she moved her hand to swat away Jiro's.

She then paused, staring blankly at him. Oh...Oh! That was a hand! That was JIRO's hand! She squeaked a bit, her white eyes wide. "Oh...! Viddy's sorry! Didn' mean too..." She whined, a little louder than she'd been previously whispering. Gasping again, she clasped her hands over her mouth, looking back into the room for a moment...and turning back to Jiro, she made sure to lower her voice again. "Sorreee...Konbanwa?" She questioned, repeating the word back to him, however slowly. "...Oi-yah-soo-meh...nah-sai...? But 'kay, Me'll call you before wearin' a pretti dress."

Rather awake now, she moved her white gaze down to the bundle in his hands, pointing at herself with the same hand she'd previously swatted his with. "For Viddy?" She asked curiously, feeling even worse now for swatting his hand. "Nono, Jiro's no bother...you come play whene'er, okie?"

"Perhaps so..." He knew that Viddy was rather tired and he could understand it cause it was rather late and he wasn't used to seeing her, just dropping off whatever and then dashing off. Even though he had only done that ones. However, he hadn't expected the hand swat and he moved his hand out of the way quickly. Something had disturbed her, her smell changed. But it was probably something that didn't involve him and he shrugged lightly.

"Forget it. I won't touch you without letting you know I'm doing so next time. It's no big deal." It wouldn't be hard to keep his hands to himself. As she leaned back into the room a bit, he wondered for a second what she was checking on. Did she share a room with someone? Sticking his head in a bit, he sniffed around and then blinked. Oh Adonis was in here. He never forgot a smell. "Really it's fine. I've told you, you don't need to apologize so much to me..." He then nodded when she repeated the words he taught her. "Very good. You catch on quickly."

"Well, yeah for you. I don't make gifts for just anyone, you realize..." Shifting the package a bit, he looked a bit doubtful cause it looked like she wasn't going to take it. Was it badly packaged or something? Frowning in thought, he moved it around, trying to figure this out. He had Yuhin wrap it cause he would get frustrated and chop up the paper. So he knew it was done well cause Yuhin always did everything well... "You don't want it?" What would he do with it if she didn't? Oh this sucked... "Sure... I'll try to come by during the day more often then. Maybe we can play Hide and Seek again or something."

Vidya whined softly. "But Viddy didn' mean too~" She whimpered, obviously still feeling terrible about it. Even her sidewings lowered a little bit, giving her this rather pathetic, puppy-dog look...especially with her messy hair. The girl did seem to brighten a little bit when he told her she pronounced them right. "Konbanwa, Jiro!" She giggled softly.

"Wha? Oh!" She grinned softly, reaching out to lightly take the package from Jiro. "No, Viddy wants it! Sorry...Thank you~!" Vidya leaned her elbows against the windowsill, poking at the present. "Me read first?" She pointed to the letter before opening it, curling the bundle lightly under her arms as it rested on the windowsill. She knew a little bit about reading...and Jiro could always help her, right? He seemed to know how to do these things, after all.

"No hide n' seek! Me hurted you las' time..." She pouted again...she'd been feeling bad about the hand swat, but now that she remembered smashing his nose with the cabinet door...well, now she felt awful, even if it was by accident. But now...onto more important things! This letter, mainly. She looked down at it, focusing her white eyes (yes, even her blind one) on the font.

"I'm sure you didn't.. please, it's fine. I'm fine. It's not like you damaged me, Viddy. Please, don't panic.." His own wings kept shifting as he tried to calm her down, not wanting her to be worried about it. When she wished him good evening, he smirked and inclined his head. "Konbanwa, Viddy."

He let her take the gift then, only shaking his head as she apologized to him yet again. He really wished she wouldn't cause there was no point to it, as far as he saw it. When she asked about reading it, he nodded slightly. "As you wish... And the thing that happened last time wasn't that bad..."

The note was written very carefully, but the words were a bit wobbly, cause writing in english was not something he liked learning. Or.. doing for that matter. The letter was also very simple. It started off as hello and how are you. It spoke of small things, like how he wanted to visit her more often as possible and he hoped that everything was going well with her family. He wasn't good with letters and had actually wanted to write a poem. Well, to be honest, he had tried to just right her something, but he ended up trashing every attempt and decided on something simple. Not that it made him happy.. simple sometimes wasn't good enough. "Sorry if it's hard to understand..."

It took her a while. A long, long while...but she did it, she read the letter. Not on her own of course, there were many times she had to ask Jiro what some of the words meant or sounded like...or just plainly asked what that specific word was supposed to be. Her reading wasn't perfect, but she was trying...oh was she ever trying. The fact she was reading off of the dull light of the moon, a nearby streetlight and the dull blue glow from the jewel on her forehead...well, that didn't help the situation.

But she did it, and swelled with a sense of pride when she completed the letter, and she let Jiro know this as she always did when she was happy - she gave him a hug. "Me did it! Viddy read! Heeee...Thank'ya for helpin' me tho! S'a pretty letter...me'll keep it nice and safe, okay?" Infact, she still had the letter and the box from his first visit to her house at night...the toys he'd given her were in various places around the room.

She set the letter carefully on the floor beside the stool she was kneeling on, just so it wouldn't blow away. Vidya then took the package out from where it'd been resting under her arms, carefully opening it...and trying to be quiet as well, just incase someone woke up from this. That would be bad indeed. Eventually she'd gotten the paper off of the object, carefully lifting the gift up to be able to see it better in the light.

He had no issues with helping her when she needed some help, cause it just wasn't an issue for him. Normally, he would have gotten pissy at other people who would ask him something like that. But with her, it was allowed, he really didn't mind. But Viddy had a rather good hold on it herself so he was pleasantly surprised. His reading wasn't perfect.. well not reading english anyway. And he should have thought to bring a lamp... he made a mental note to bring one next time. Blinking widely as he was huggled by her, he smiled faintly. It wasn't every day he really didn't mind hugs, but lately, he had adjusted to them so he held her back. "I knew you could do it! I'm definately proud of you! And I'm glad you liked it. It's simple but I tried my best heh. And I'm sure you will."

The thing she opened was a square box of ivory, with a soft, lacy design carved onto the edges. Her name was painted in English (I will make this soon.. gomen. you'll really get it >>) across the top, with a careful lock and key. "It's a music box... I don't know if you have one... I can ask my friend to make little reels of different songs so you can change them if you get bored with the song..." He was a bit nervous about it cause he had worked hard on it and there were places were he had slipped and messed up on it, but overall he had done his best.

Vidya was, obviously, absolutely delighted by the half-hug she received in return.

Of course, she was also rendered speechless when she caught the first glimpse of her present. It was a white box! A pretty white box! And it had her name on it! She traced the ivory box with her small blue fingertips, absolutely loving the feel of it...then again, she'd never felt icory before. It was...nice.

"Itsso...Itsso pretty!!" Vidya finally blurt out, though it was still fairly hushed, as she recalled the nighttime thing a few seconds before speaking. "Music Box? Plays Music! Oh! Viddy not have one'a those!" She wanted so badly to hear the music now, but alas...she'd probably wake someone up. Vidya whined at this thought, and then carefully set the box onto the floor next to the letter, just to keep it safe.

When she returned to the window, the first thing she did was give him another hug...only this one was a little tighter. "Thank you Thank you Thank you! Me'll listen to it t'morro...'cause...dun wanna wake Donny or Mommy or Daddy up..." She murmured her last sentence sadly. "Viddy so happy! Thank you! Didja make it yourself, Jiro?"

Wake Donny up? But Donny had been relatively awake all this time. Yes, the little boy was still half-watching his sister and her shadowy friend, who he kind of recognized but couldn't be sure of. All he knew was that his eyes were too heavy to open fully, and their voices were too hushed to understand fully. This, coupled with how sleepy he was, and how quiet the night was, and how comfortable the bed was.. well it kept him under the impression that he was still dreaming.

What an odd dream, though. He wasn't in it at all.. and a dream without him as the star was quite a boring dream. Then again, his sister was important, and the dream focused on her.

But, boring as it was, he made sure to keep it a dream, and simply didn't move. However, his breathing had quieted - the soft breathes he took when asleep could no longer be heard. He just snuggled further into the bed and watched his boring dream unfold.

Watching her reaction to his gift made him smile hesitantly. He made things for Khia, sure, but this was different. He and Khia were of like minds and it was easy to tell if Khia would like it. Viddy, however, was more of a challenge cause he wasn't sure if it would be something she would want. However, she seemed pleased. Well, mroe than pleased was the correct term of it and he smiled happily. "I'm really happy you like it. It was fun trying to make it.. forgive the nicks and scratches, but I am still learning how to carve. However, I thought about you while I was making it... but you like it, so those don't matter, I suppose...:

His eyes widened as she squeezed him tighter than last time and this time, he gave her a full hug back. It really couldn't hurt to indulge the girl. "Heh I don't think waking up Donny should be a problem.." Gently getting her to move back, he hopped up onto the sill and more into the room, his gold eye glowing a bit but was already adjusted. "Someone seems to be a light sleeper..." His gaze focused on Donny's bed and his eyes narrowed. "I would have thought you'd have your own room since your house is big..." Hiromi gave a whimper cause he wasn't on her head anymore and he reached down to shush her. She had recently grown and was about the size of an SUV. Shouhin had positively freaked out how big she got, Yuhin still thought she was cute and his brothers adored taking them both out hunting. Shrugging and looking back at Viddy, cause he remembered their meeting, he put Donny out of his thoughts. He wasn't here for him. Still thought he was too shiny for his own good, but whatever. "You wanna go to the park for a bit? I know it's late, but I'll definitely protect you.. and there you can play your music box."

Entry Twenty: Brooms and Chopsticks
Jiro meets Linny

It's been awhile since he's been able to be let out. Well, that he's allowed himself to be let out. It was no one's decision but his own. Besides, being at home wasn't a bad thing. He got to hang out more with Masaka, who had written up a small guide of exercises he needed to give to Khia to help further his transformation skills. Baked wtih Uugi, Masaka's younger triplet, which was nice cause that shy little uke was usually busy hiding in his room. Toriu, the eldest triplet, was busy helping his small uke get over his tradegy and was more grumpy and serious faced than ever. Other than Kali, Toriu was Jiro's second hero...

Spinning his chopsticks between his fingers smoothly, he walked with Akiya to the shop. Not that he was ever in the mood to go there. Actually, he wanted to stop and get ice cream instead. Or maybe go to the park or something. But Akiya actually wanted to buy Stationary, probably cause Yuhin said if he didn't bring some home he'd be sorry >3, so off they went. Yawning, he scratched the back of his neck,h is hair braided instead of bunned for once. His kimono was black with gold and silver dragonflies and his underclothing was blood red. Akiya was quiet, probably cause it was still early morning and the angel was never fully awake til past noon sometime. Hell, he was even yawning! Feeling like he was being watched, Akiya looked down at his son and smiled, patting the top of his head. "I'm proud of you, Jiro."

"Hmm?"

"The fact you came here, even though we all know how you feel about it. What made you decide to come with me?"

That made the Tale smirk as they got to the shop and opened the door. "I have a good feeling something interesting will happen today... nothing much."

Linneas' mother had gone to visit some friends that day, and she had taken Paestri with her. So it was basically just Linneas and Ning, nothing too bad, he was used to being left in charge of the store. And this was the perfect time for him to practice his 'fighting' abilities.

Somewhere, he had managed to find a book about staffs and javelines. He had been trying his best to imitate the motions, with little success. But Linny had time to learn, he knew this.

As the two entered, Jiro caught Linny's familiar scent. No matter if he had caught it for only a second or two, he never forgot how someone smelled. Tilting his head a bit, he let Akiya go look amongst the paper goodness as he followed where his nose was telling him to do. Spotting Linny, he studied him a bit. This was on the one he had seen when he first came out. The meek one, right? His eyes landed on his broom, or mop.. whichever he used and he smirked. Yup, same one. But what was he doing? "You can get the motions down all you want, but if you don't have the right posture, you'll fall over in a real fight."

Normally, Jiro didn't outright speak up like that. Maybe he had been going to Dyrid's classes too much or something. Either way, he couldn't help himself. Training was something that just caught his interest. Plus this was Khia's friend, right? Khia would be proud of him if he did well and made another friend and so would his family. Stepping more into the room, he looked him up and down. "So you're using bo moves then..."

Linneas' instinct was to jerk the mop behind him, as if his short height would be able to effectively cloak the presence of the cleaning equipment. He wasn't expecting anyone around that day as it had been pretty quiet in the shop the past week.

As Jiro spoke, Linneas found himself crimsoning in embarrassment. "Oh, really? I didn't know." He said, as if apologizing for his ignorance.

He recognized the boy from before, but wasn't sure what his name was. "Yeah, I was really looking for things that a broom or mop could be associated with. The bo was the closest thing I could find." he added with a shy chuckle.

"I had the feeling.. but you do have some of the basis moves down. It's impressive." When he jerked the mop behind his back, he shifted a brow at him. "Why hide it? You should never be afraid to reveal your weapon." He stopped moving his chopsticks to show them to Linny. "My favorite ones." Walking closer to him, he gave him a good look over. "Dunno if you remember me, but I recall you. I'm Jiro. And you are?" He knew his name, but he wouldn't just blurt it out. The kid looked nervous around him for some reason.

"If you'd like... I could show you some how to position yourself. A bo is a good weapon from both ends. And it's good for people who like long ranged attacks. It's also.. rather versatile.. which I rather like."

Seeming to remember himself, he backed up a bit and bowed. "Sorry for the intrusion. Shouhin... I mean.. my father wanted to buy some stationary so we stopped by.. are you the only one here today?"

"Oh, I'm Linneas, but you can call me Linny if you'd like." The boy smiled at Jiro, "Would you really? It's so hard to find someone to show me these things." he chuckled, not at all bothered that Jiro knew about these things even if he was a bit younger. Huni was sheltering him too much.

"Oh and mommy and Pae are out for today, they'll be back later. I can show your father the samples we have and he can leave an order form that I can give to mommy." He added, going off to fetch the little album and returning promptly with it.

"Linny..." There, now names had been exchanged so it's all good now, right? Yup. Giving a faint smile back, he nodded a bit, letting him scamper to get the album. "Ah well I can understand that." Taking the album, he went and showed it to the angel,w ho was looking at everything with a puzzled expression. Obviously, Yuhin hadn't given him specifics again. Typical. "Here."

Akiya looked at the album before he tookit gratefully. That meant someone was here in order to get it. "Thanks, imp." Upon finding a place to settle down, he did so and started flipping through it while Jiro returned Linny. Even though Jiro was young, he couldn't help wanting to learn such things. It just made him happy to know how these things work.

"All right then." Glad his hair was put up as it always was, he looked around for something to use and found a broom. Well, it definately wasn't a staff, but he wouldn't shun the use of it. Everything was a weapon. It wasn't his motto.. but he knew it was someone's. After checking its weight, he found the balance point after a bit of trail and error before he gripped it firmly and then stood next to him. "First thing to always remember. The staff can generate a lot of energy, so you have to make sure your entire body can support it. Or else your power will fall short and your attack... will feel like nothing." Spreading his legs so that they were shoulder width apart, he grounded himself. "The legs absorb the impact.. so it's best to keep them spread this wide apart. Even when it's in the other direction.." His legs moved again so that they were going straight. "Always keep it shoulder width apart.. any further won't keep you balanced and it'd be the same as if you kept your legs together. You got this so far?"

Linneas nodded as he held his mop in front of him and copied Jiro's stance, it felt a little odd to be taking lessons from someone younger, but Linneas was never a prideful boy. Some might even argue he has little to no self-respect in the first place, but that's not the point.

"Yup, what's next?" he asked eagerly.

Straightening himself when Linny was in the right position, he gently tapped the broom against his legs to make sure he was sturdy enough. It wouldn't do for him to just fall over and all. Seeing that he seemed stable enough, he nodded, falling back into position himself. "Let's practice the basic movements, then. It'll feel different in this position, but it's not a bad thing. You'll adjust. Today is just basics... you can't spar til later heh."

Linneas had never expected to be sparring with anyone, all he had hoped for was that he would be able to defend himself and anyone around him. But if sparring would help improve his abilities, he wouldn't pass up the opportunity.

Jiro was right, it felt different whenever he tried to swing the mop the way the book instructed him. He just wondered how long it would take to get used to it.

"How long have you been learning to fight?" Linneas asked curiously.

Since he was used to a staff, though it was a borrowed one for the moment, the broom was a bit interesting to use. the basic movements were fine, but he had to shift the balance off a bit cause he didn't wanna get brushed by the actually broom part of it. To protect, one has to know how to fight. It's the most fundamental rule he knew. Didn't know where he learned it from cause he could have sworn he never read it, but that's what he knew.

"Feels like a forever..like I've always been learning, but in truth, not very long. Since at home, I'm surrounded by people who are good at either fighting or magic.. I can't help but be curious to learn how they do it. They show me sometimes.. or I learn by reading... How long have you been wanting to learn?"

"Just recently really." Linneas answered, in some ways, the boy envied that Jiro had so many people he could ask help from. Not that his mom wouldn't help him if he asked, but he just wasn't sure what she could do to teach him. Maybe he could ask Uncle Syrie about these... feelings he'd been having like inadequacy, guilt, and that he could be doing so much more than just clean the shop (though he still enjoyed seeing the place spotless).

"I'm the oldest among the kids, and mommy tells me not to bother Uncle Syrie too much when he's working." he shrugged, though that didn't mean he wasn't saddened by it.

"Ah, that's cool. Learning how to use a bo is one of the more tougher disciplines, so I've learned.. most say if you don't start off young, then it'll be harder to learn, but anyone can learn anything if he puts his heart into it. Or something >>" Wen he mentioned Sy, his brow jacked up slightly. "I see him often enough cause I'm always hanging around Khia.. I helped him with his shapeshifting.. well.. I had someone I know help him out. Always best to learn from one of like kind..."

"I'm the youngest in my family.. well even though I'm not blood related anyway... but there's nothing wrong with sending Sy notes or anything. I mean, if you feel you need to speak to him, you should do so.. Seems silly to let your worries grow bigger and bigger..." It took a bit to get the broom to start spinning and he tossed it smoothly into the air. "So, I'm curious.. why do you wanna learn how to use a bo in the first place?"

Linneas nodded, Jiro's words made a lot of sense. Sometimes he just wished he had someone to talk to that wasn't Huni or Ning. His new sister couldn't speak either so that was definately out of the question. He hadn't seen Ai or Khia around much either. Absently, he immitated the broom twirling with his mop, and there was just something natural about its flow that he managed to duplicate the younger boy's moves.

It surprised Linny. A lot. But then his thoughts went back to Jiro's question. "Why?" he echoed, scratching the back of his neck. "I dunno, it's gonna sound weird but, well, I've been having these really weird dreams... you know? The sort that feels so real and they just stay with you even after you wake up. And these dreams always seem to involve someone who looks like me only older and... well, he seems scarey."

"Doesn't sound weird at all. Actually.. I think I can understand you better than most would..." He had similar dreams, just when he woke up, he was never in his bedroom, but always somewhere else. And all he could ever remember of it was that he had been dreaming. "Sometimes, dreams fortell the future.. or how the future can become if you want it to go in that direction." Since Linny was mimicing his moves, he decided to go ahead with what he knew of basics in this field of training. Normally, he used bladed weapons, but as his mentor said, it never hurt to be prepared.

His eyes were on him though. Even though Linny was older than him, he seemed rather sad and lost. Like he needed someone else to talk to. Jiro wasn't overly good at offering his services outside of a training field really.. cause other than this, there was nothing else connecting the two boys together. Least, not yet anyway. "You're doing good... your grip is a bit off... btu we can fix that."

"Really?" Linneas blinked, happy that he wasn't alone in the whole 'weird dreams' thing. At least he had someone who was going through the same thing. "You actually end up some place else?" he gawked, at least his dreams were just dreams.

Or rather, he thought they were just dreams. Little did the boy know that the dreams were a mixture of memories and visions. He decided not to dwell on them too much as he continued to copy Jiro. "How is it off?" he asked, was it in the wrist or his fingers?

"Mmhm.." He nodded curtly before he gently righted his hand and his fingers. "There.. you'll have a better grip that way.. so when you jab at someone, it doesn't fly out of your fingers heh." Jiro didn't understand why he would wake up in different places. That's just how it was. He would be in his room and then have his dream and next thing he knew, he was elsewhere.. usually in the last part he could recall in his dream. "Yeah... usually, my parents find me and bring me home. It makes them worry cause I'm always somewhere else and they gotta search for me.. I feel like the bad son to them, event hough it's not true..."

Shaking his head a bit, he smirked. "But I'll figure it out sooner or later. I'm too stubborn to let it be for too long..."

"I don't think that makes you a bad son, or even a bad person. It's not like you get these dreams on purpose right?" Linneas smiled, "I mean, maybe you were sleep walking or something. Who knows?" he added, "So don't feel bad about making your parents worry. I end up making my mommy worry even though I'm just at home." he smiled albeit it was a small and sad one.

"I dunno about that." Tossing his broom into the air, he took out his chopsticks. Spinning them with a hint of annoyance, he slammed them into the wood on the broomm handle and caught it by them. "That's the thing.. I feel like I'm supposed to be there.. even if I didn't want to go there. So I can't say it's not something I want on some level.." Using the chopstick stuck in the broom handle to spin it gently. "Well I don't always feel bad.. only when I make my Yuhin.. uh.. my mom.. cry.. then I feel like scum." He pat Linny on the shoulder gently. "I'm sure your mom is very proud of you. Maybe just worried that you'll be alone all the time. My mom does that..."

Linneas cringed at what Jiro had done with his chopsticks, the broom won't be the same when the older boy uses it next time to sweep. At least the mop was still in one piece, for some reason he was more protective about the mop than the broom.

"Mmmm, but is there anything wrong with being alone, though? I mean, so what if I like being by myself sometimes." Linneas shrugged, "Do you like being alone, Jiro?"

The broom would be just fine. Since his chopsticks were rounded, they would leave clean little holes. Not leave any permanent damage. "There isn't, I suppose. But I guess being left alone too much is a bad thing. Having people around at times is nice.. so I'm told. Me, I get my space... all the time. I'd rather be alone, but sometimes, after you get used to the noise of other people.. the silence can be a bit deafening..."

Freeing his chopsticks with a few sharp yanks, he put them back into place. "I have Khia.. and a few friends other than that.. even if I didn't have my big family, I would survive even if it was just Khia..." It was nice, he realized, to talk to someone a lot like himself.. who shared the same ideas. Oh the wickedness they were currently plotting.

"I usually talk to Ai and Khia, but I haven't seen him around lately." Linneas smiled, "You should meet Ai, she's really nice." he added, and was sorely tempted to add the word 'pretty' in the description but decided against it. "And I got to talk to Captain Tybalt recently, he sure knows what he's doing. Sometimes I think I don't know what I'm all about, aside from cleaning that is. He's the one who sorta got me into fighting. Maybe you two would get along too?"

"Ai.. Ai.. Ah.. Aido.. already met her." Nope, haven't forgotten how she snubbed him either. Little knight in shining armor... "I see Khia often.. you probably don't see him cause he's in my dimension.. you should come over sometime and hunt with us. It'd be fun, ya know?" When he mentioned Tybalt, a dark frown appeared on his face and he was tempted to break something. But all he did was laugh as he almost slammed the broom into the ground. "Ha! No.. we wouldn't get along. Trust me, he's not someone whose smell I trust... I met him twice.. not that we talked, but I've seen how he is two separate times. He's not someone I would place my faith in..." He gave him a look, his gold eye flickering red for a moment before he grinned good naturedly. "I think we'd hurt each other."

Tybalt got Linny into fighting?? That featherduster?! HA! Well then. Jiro was more interested than ever to train him in what he knew. This.. should be really fun. "Soon, after you get the hang of moving and sweeping with a bo, we can spare, neh? But maybe you should get a real staff to practice with? A mop is good only if you have nothing else to use.. but it'll throw you off balace wise... maybe a practice one?"

Linneas quirked a brow at Jiro's words, what did he mean by 'dimension'? Was that what the younger boy called his home? And hunt with them? Did they actually go around killing innocent animals? Wasn't that a tad bit... cruel?

"Ha! You're one to talk about cruelty!" She snarled, hands balling into fists.

"I only did it to save you." He responded quietly, refusing to meet her gaze.

"You
killed him! You monster! I hate you! You've ruined us all." she screamed at him.

Linneas shook himself, and the vision had gone as suddenly as it had arrived. "Well if you think you'll hurt each other, then I guess it would be better if you two don't meet." he said and scratched the back of his neck.

At Jiro's suggestion of using a different weapon, Linneas frowned defensively. "I prefer to use my mop, thank you very much." Jiro probably didn't mean anything by it, but it sounded like an insult to Linneas. He was comfortable with the cleaning apparatus, weilding it was something that came natural to him. As he would with a broom, but he didn't say anything.

A brow shifted up when he got on the defensive. Well well, mighty touchy. "I didn't mean to offend, but obviously I have. Use whatever you wish to use." Shrugging it off as he did mostly everything, he went to put the broom back in place. He bowed to him, not about to stick around if he offended the guy and he seemed rather testy suddenly. "Seems I wore out my welcome then. You seem to be doing fine so why don't we meet some other time? Maybe we can spar or something..."

He was defensive about his chopsticks, but he also had no issues using other weapons. If Linny wanted to cling to his mop, then that was his choice. It would make him develop a mood shift should anything happen to his broom, but that was something made by his own choice. "If you wanna hang out, then talk to Khia.. he'll show you what to do to get to my dimension..."

Linneas blinked at Jiro's almost hasty departure. The red head didn't mean to sound angry, and he certainly hadn't wanted Jiro to leave yet. "Uh... alright. See you soon." he waved a little out of confusion.

He wasn't leaving just yet, just on his way out. If Linny wanted him to stay, he had to say something. One thing he had learned quickly. He wasn't about to stick around if people are gonna just be testy with you for a comment. Shouhin always told him to not get into fights anymore. But since Linny just said see you later, he waved a hand as he went to his Shouhin, he was still looking at the paper. "Don't tell me you still don't know what he wants yet..."

Tsking and clucking his tongue, Akiya shrugged lightly. "There's too many that I know he'd like..."

"......... then buy it all. WHy do you make this so hard?"

"Why are you out here? I thought you and Linny were sparring or whatever."

Jiro only gave a shrug as he sat down next to him. "Seems like he got pissed at me about something.. so I'm not gonna stay in case I say something else that'll make him upset..."

Linneas was starting to feel uneasy about Jiro's departure, he hadn't mean to drive the younger boy away. But what had he done? He had only said he considered his mop or broom an appropriate weapon, but were they really? He scratched the back of his head, he was very confused and guilt was settling in the pit of his stomach. Maybe Linneas was in the wrong, and with that in mind, he went after Jiro.

"Uh, Jiro?" he softly called out. How do you go about apologizing for something you don't understand, though?

ooking over the book with Akiya and making him pick out things he knew Sah would go crazy over, his demonic wing shifted before he looked up, noticing that Linny had come back out of the room. Getting pushed off the chair lightly by the angel, he gave his parent a glare, in which a cool glance was given. A silent messege passed between the two before he nodded and wandered over to Linny again. "Hai. Can I do something for you?"

His eyes were more thoughtful than anything else before he spoke again. "If you're going to trying apologizing, there's no need. I realize that you misunderstood what I was saying. I wasn't saying give up your mop, but for terms of practice it's best to have a practice staff. If I offended you, I'm sorry... it hadn't been my intention."

"Well, I could have said it in a nicer way." Linneas smiled, his feet shuffling a bit. "I guess I still have to work out how I say things." he adds, scratching the back of his neck. "I'd still like to spar with you some day, though. Though not anytime soon, I still have a long way to go." he chuckles.

"Heh, well you did show me how attached to your mop you are. There's nothing wrong with favoring a weapon, just.. like all things, it can break. It makes you wonder what you'd do if something like that happened, hmm?" His smirk was still in place as he snickered. "Yeah, you got a bit of a way, but with a lot of practice and hard work, I'm sure you'll get in no time! And sparring with you'll be really fun."

At this, Linneas beams, grateful that any possible issue between them has been resolved. "Well I don't intend to restrict myself to just my mop." He smiled, "And maybe when I feel I'm ready and if mommy will let me, I could go over to your place to spar."

"I don't see why not! My parents are really good about letting my friends come over, even though Khia is the only one so far whose come to visit me." But he seemed a lot more relaxed cause the issue was now over and dealt with and he wasn't in a position where he felt.. uneasy. "There's never really any rush and not all spars are rushing at others to try to take them down. When we practice your speed, we can do an exercise to see how firm your grip is on the mop and stuff. Would you like to keep training? Shouhin is useless and can't figure out what to buy." The look on his face was loving towards his parent but also that he wished he wasn't like that. >>

"No, that's alright, I think I'm done with training for the day." Linneas smiled, his muscles were starting to cramp. "Well, I could show him the more popular ones from the selection, maybe that could be of help?" he suggested.

"As you wish. I forgot that it's best to take it slow heh. Also forget how much faster time moves here.." He was mainly talking to himself, looking thoughtful and rubbing his chin. "It's good to take a hot soothing bath whenever you can.. maybe add some nicely scented oil and just relax.. definately helps tense muscles and all that. And if you could show him that, it'd be awesome... or else we might be here all day..."

"I'll ask mommy if we have any of those stuff." Linneas smiled and nodded at the younger Tale's suggestions. "And the Stationeries one on page five, seven and twenty-three are our best sellers. As for font type, Font nine, twelve, thirty and thirty five are the most suitable ones."

"You hear that, Shouhin?" Looking over at the man, he noticed how he was flicking to those pages. A scowl twisted his lips as the angel made a pleased sound. "I think he'll take them all. He's really not that picky.. Yuhin'll love anything..."

Smirking cause he knew Jiro was annoyed at him for taking so long, he closed the book and got to his feet. "I'll take them indeed. They'll be perfect and this way, he'll have a lot of stationary to use. How much would that be for a set?"

"Two hundred gold all in all for one hundred fifty sheets of stationery." Linneas replied as he double checked his computations. "If you just write your address and what you want to be printed they'll be delivered by next week. And as shop procedures, there'll be a downpayment of one hundred fifty and the rest is to be paid once your order is finished." he smiled and handed over a notepad and a pen.

"Sounds reasonable.." He smiled down at the boy and had taken the notepad when he mentioned writing down his address and he hesitated. "Hmm... well it's not exactly easy to deliever things to my place... mainly cause we really don't have an address." He lived in a world where there were no such things as house numbers or area codes. Hell, most of the kind who lived there had no idea what a phone was, or a television. "I was thinking of just having Jiro come pick them up.. so he'll be stopping by next week in order to get them. Would that work as well?"

"Oh certainly! That wouldn't be a problem." Linneas smiled, pleased that he would have the opportunity to see Jiro again. "I'll give this to mommy as soon as she comes home."

"Awesome!" Writing down his choices on the paper he had to, he patted down his front for a bit before fishing out a small sack of gold coins and checked to make sure it had all of one hundred and fifty pieces that was needed for the down payment. Once he was pleased with what was there, he handed it to the boy with a smile. "Here you are. My order and the down payment. Please take your time. There really is no rush with us. I'll send Jiro back here in a week's time to see how things are going. If you're not done, just tell him to deliver a message to me. If you two wanna hang out or something, that'll be more than fine. Jiro does need to get out a bit more heh."

Jiro's nose wrinkled ever so slightly at that before he smirked and bowed before him. Linny had a nice smell and he knew that getting to play with him was going to be rather interesting. It would be fun to train more with him. "So next week?"

Entry Twelve: About Linny

I met someone new.. okay lemme rephrase. He's not someone I haven't seen before, but I never spoke to him at such lengths as I have this time around. He's Mistress Huni's Tale, and the only times I saw him, he was cleaning. Not that keeping a clean house is a bad thing... Yuhin says I should do more cleaning type things. But I cant afford that. I gotta train, ya know? Added blades to traditional Japanese dance isn't overly simple, ya know. So to make up for my lack of longing to clean, I stay as clean as humanly possible and clean up after myself so there's no messes. Makes sense to me! But I digress... again.

This time, I had to go with Shouhin to the shop to pick up stationary for Yuhin. Why? I have no idea, not even now. But off we went anyway and the only person there was Linny, who was trying to practice using a bo. To say the least it was rather interesting and reminded me of myself learning how to use a sword. (Still waiting for my custom blade to come in... ._. ) Since i had seen a lot of people at home train, I thought I would try to help him out a bit.. I dunno if people see me as pompous or something cause I seem to know a lot. Let's make this clear. I don't. I'm just surrounded by people who do and I can't help sitting and watching. I mean, how else is one supposed to learn? Books only do so much...

As I was saying, we chatted a little bit... talking about this and that. I think I offended him about his mop. He was using it to practice with and it made me wonder if that was the best idea. Only because if an enemy found that his mop was his weak point.. well.. it could get ugly I think. So I suggested getting a practice staff, just one to train with, but not to replace his mop. We talked it out, thankfully so I haven't worn out my welcome with another Tale. Not that I'm good at dealing with them anyway... well most of the ones I've already met in some way, fashion or form.

I think he'll only get better the more he trains, but since Khia has grown up again, I think Linny has as well... I really should try to locate him and see how his training has been serving him. One day, I gotta spar against him. That would be unholy awesome <3

But I should end this missive I think. It's time to go to Zyukori Homegrounds for their weekly sales. I'm going with my idol, Kali, today. I can't wait to see what we'll find this time! Later!

Entry Twenty One: Jiro's Depression
Khia moves away

The room was silent, as was most of the house. It was quiet today, but then again, the house wasn't always very loud. Especially in Jiro's dojo. Things were always quiet there. Usually. Today, however, it was filled with curses and hisses. The sounds of shuffling was easy to hear before there was a heated curse and the sounds of something flying. As the door slid open, a mini replica of a katana firmly planted itself in the door frame, inches away from his big brother Kali's nose. Well... this was definitely new, Jiro normally had more patience with his weapon. Glancing at the blade, he frowned when he saw red staining its normal pristine surface and he moved more quickly into the room itself. "Jiro?" For once without his book, he found himself to be rather grateful for it as he noticed patches of blood staining the ground. This was also very unlike Jiro and he felt his concern hitting all new levels.

He hurried into the room proper, his eyes sweeping around til he found Jiro laying in a crumpled heap on the ground. Though his hair was loose and covered everything, he knew that he was in pain. His body, no matter how tiny, gave signs of exhaustion and weariness. Stepping carefully closer, cause he knew how Jiro was at times, he placed a hand on his shoulder. "Jiro... It's Kali."

"Nnn..." Was the weak response he got from him, the bundle of thick fabric and long hair shifting slightly to show a pale face. Jiro had not been able to sleep and it showed, the circles huge and dark on his pale face. "K.. Kali..." Looking away because he knew that he would ask him why he let himself get so bad, he tried to pull away from him. But Kali was by no means weak and easily kept the chibi in place, his eyes looking over his for injury. There were many deep grooves on his hands and arms, like he had lost his grip on his weapon and control of himself.

"Jiro.... I know he's moving but you shouldn't be so off center like this." Using the most extreme care, he lifted him up into his arms and sat down, though he was as mindful of his injuries as possible. Jiro and Khia were close.. very best friends, least from what Mouu and Kali saw. They were always together when they could manage it and they did similar things together. Learn shamisen, hunt or just lay around and talk about things, braiding each other's long hair. Mouu thought it was the most adorable thing and Kali was glad Jiro had a friend that close to him. Even with Angelus in the house, Jiro was still too much of a loner for his own good. The twins hoped that Jiro would learn to get along better with Angelus. Their bond was already strong.. but they were all curious at what exactly it would do to them as they grew older. How would it affect them both in body and spirit...

And it was hard to get answers from their father, who just didn't even seem to know how to respond to that. Since he didn't know either. "You're bleeding everywhere... you know better than to use your mini katana if you can't focus properly..." Pushing himself quickly to his feet, he moved over to where they kept the first aid kit. It was a good thing that they had the thing because Jiro and the other kids hurt themselves often with the oftentimes rough training they did. And there was no complaining from them because it was something they had chosen to do. They wanted to become stronger, no matter what they had to do in order to get there. The top popped open after a few sharp flicks of his fingertips and he rummaged around to find the items needed to clean off his brother. He knew Jiro hated rubbing alcohol but it was the best way to clean them so he quickly set to work, his ears blocking out the full string of curses he got from Jiro. That was normal. Only clucking his tongue and not letting him get out of his lap, he grabbed the gauze next and worked on bandaging up his arms. It was bad enough his darker thoughts overtook his rational mind and had him carve deep symbols into his legs, for this to happen made him worried.

He didn't wish to tell this to their parents, for Sah would worry more but there was no way to hide something like this. Not since he had to bandage almost all of his arms. It was obvious by just looking into his eyes that Jiro was not focused at all. Like he was trying but his mind just couldn't do it. What exactly was the connection between Khia and Jiro like? But that was something personal and he wasn't gonna ask him that. "I think it's time for a break, okay?"

"Fine..." There was no point in arguing with Kali and Jiro was smart enough to know that no matter what he said, the older teen wouldn't hear him out since he was worried now. And he tended to get snappy if he was worried. Allowing himself to be carted to his bedroom, he curled up as soon as he was placed on his bed and he sighed. "I'll be fine..."

"I highly doubt that." Kali sat on the edge of the boy's over-sized bed and stroked his loose hair out of his face. "You know he'll be returning... to allow yourself to fall into such a despair is not wise. Do you think he'd be happy if this got worse and he didn't find out about it? He will find out ya know and he'll worry about you. Is that what you want? To be this completely selfish?" Though his words were harsh, his voice thankfully wasn't and he sighed heavily. "You'll make us, your family who love you, worry a lot as well. Is that okay with you?" Silence came for awhile as Jiro seemed to be getting his thoughts together. Selfish? Was that truly how he was acting? Like a spoiled child? Well... he was a child after all, but he didn't often indulge in such things as acting childish. For as long as he could remember, he had been told he was an old soul and he acted older than he truly was. For him to slide this much did bother him... but he couldn't offer a ready explanation for his behavior. Not to his brother, not to his Yuhin and Shouhin... hell, not even to himself.

"Gomen." Slowly and carefully, he turned to face him, his eyes showing he truly was. "It wasn't my intention to make you worry so much... I didn't even want to do this. I just... can't focus for some reason. I was fine a bit ago but then... my hands kept shaking.. and they wouldn't stop shaking." His fingers curled into fists and he ignored the pain that went along with it. "I was fine... I don't understand..." His head moved slowly from side to side before he pressed his hands to his eyes, trying to figure out on his own what was wrong with him. What he didn't expect was to feel the heat of Kali's arms around him, bringing him closer to his body.

"It's all right, Jiro. Sometimes, things happen for whatever reason they're meant to.. and no one can understand it sometimes. It just.. is as it is." Tenderly, he smoothed out the boy's tangled locks and shifted him up and into his lap so he could braid it. Kali was usually the one who did this at night for him and they both liked the quiet time it gave them. "It's not that there's something wrong with you, really... but you're allowing yourself to become depressed over something that isn't about to change anytime soon. Honestly, you shouldn't get so upset." Once he was done, he leaned forward and rested his hands lightly in Jiro's lap, his way of saying sit still, imp. "You'll see him before you know it."

"He's my best friend... I know it's stupid.. but I would hate to lose his friendship.. or lose him. I know it's a stupid thing to think, but these thoughts bother me at times.. I can't shut off that voice telling me he won't be my friend for long..." It was hard for Jiro to admit to his fears and worries because he knew it did nothing to help him out and it upset other people. But there were things he just couldn't help and this was one of them. The voices in his head were never quiet and no matter how much he wanted to, he couldn't get them to go the ******** away. "Am I a bad person?"

"...... no. You're not. I wish you would stop asking that every day, Jiro. You're not bad. We don't know everything about you, but you're not bad.." His grip tightened around the chibi and he brought him closer. "I hate it when you say that." And he did. Jiro considered Kali his hero, something he wasn't sure how to take cause he wasn't used to such praise. But as such, he wanted to help him out as much as humanly possible. Do anything he could to make sure he always smiled and was happy. But sometimes, it was so hard because no one understood truly what Jiro was going through. Or why. Til then.. all he could really do was support him and he would. Even if it killed him. "You're fine as you are, chibi... you know that. You need to believe it and always believe it or else those voices will eat you alive. You understand?" It took awhile before Jiro nodded and leaned back against him, his sign that he trusted him.. and that he was tired. Brushing the backs of his fingers along the boy's cheek, he sighed gently and just kept him close. If he wished to sleep, he wouldn't stop him. It was his right to rest as much as his body and his tortured soul needed.

Entry Twenty-two: Cheesy Stinky Man??
Interesting books and claw marks

He had much better things to do than leave the house, but Shouhin but being a stubborn old goat today. Maybe he had been trapped up in his dojo for a bit too long, but he still have to practice every day. Then Sah pointed out that he wasn't really training no more than cutting himself cause his mind wasn't focused on what he was doing. Sighing heavily, the boy paused in mid step and looked down at his heavily bandaged hands, flexing his fingers slowly and carefully. They were healing as they should, but it was stiff to move them too much. Another sigh left him as he looked up at his big brother Mouu, who had decided to come along with him today. Noticing that he had stopped, he looked down at him, just waiting for him to speak up first. "Are you okay with coming with me?"

"Hmm? Oh sure! Tigg''s asleep and we do gotta see if Yuhin''s stationary came in or something. I don''t mind coming out with you today, Jiro. How are you feeling?" He knew his kid brother was out of it with Khia moving away and everything, so the boy felt rather out of sorts. Khia was his best friend, after all, and though the boy had other friends, he just sseemed closer to Khia. Probably cause they were both violent or something, Mouu didn''t know. He just thought they were amusing to watch. Pushing open the door to the shop, he let him wander in first. "We shoulda brought Luc along.. maybe he could have used an outing..."

"But he''s gone out shopping with Kali.. there would be no point to it, ya know?" Snickering, he went and found a place to sit down and did so.

Silent walked the sidewalk quietly. It had been ages since she came to the shop. It didn''t feel the same anymore. And surprisingly, Angelus wasn''t on her arms like he normally would. Looking behind her, she watched the small Tale take his steps.

Angelus walked with a confidence, which was a definite change from the person he used to be. The scars are still evident on his neck, and the memories still fresh, but he learned to put that all behind him. It was time to move on. His blood tingled for an unknown reason. Jiro. He could feel the other tale. Ever since the exchange of blood, he wasn''t the same.

Silent finally made it to the shop door and slowly opened it. Angelus followed suit.

"So this is the place?" Redish grey and gold eyes were fixed upon the back side of the Stationary Shop.

"Mhm."

"This is where you were BORN."

Bi-colored eyes shifted to her brother, "yes, mr. lava lamp incubator."

Fai grinned and poked at her gently, "I didn''t mean anything by it," glancing around he blinked, "how do we get in?"

"Front door," Aido replied and stepped forward heading along the small alley like way that tracked around the shop to the main street. It felt so odd being here with her, now older, brother instead of her mother; though Chao had promised to meet them at the store later. It felt weird being there at all, there wasn''t even a guarntee anyone would be there or that the shop would even be open....

Fai glanced to her and rolled his eyes, first she''d been all restless and ready to go, now it looked like his sister was having second thoughts, how silly, "you have your ''what if'' face on Ai, stop worrying about nothing," grabbing onto her hand he quickly led them up the steps and pushed on the door, smiling triumphantly as it opened and the tell tale bell jangled softly as they entered.

Silent was about a foot away from the open door. Thank goodness it didn''t hit her. She turned around to see who entered. Brown eyes blinked in confusion and then a smile came to her lips. Chao. " Long time no see."she told the other Tale.

Angelus also turned around to see who was here. He wasn''t expecting Aido to come. Not at all. His own brown eyes looked up to his friend in awe. How long had it been since he saw her last? It was so long that he couldn''t remember.

" Aido." He whispered her name. He said it clearly but quietly.

Aido''s eyes caught Silent''s for a moment before darting to the floor, where Angelus stood near his mother. Eyes suddenly bright she darted foward, dropped downwards and hugged her friend fiercely, "Angelus!"

Fai smiled, very pleased with the sudden change in his sister. Coming here had been such a good idea. Smiling to the woman he tilted his head, "hello there Miss," he greeted warmly.

Silent''s mouth hung open and then closed. " Well. That was a decent hi. I guess." She chuckled. Her brown eyes went to the male. He didn''t look very familiar. She offered her hand. " Hi. I''m Silent. And you are?" she inquired of the newcomer.

Angelus nearly lost any breath he could have used. His wings flapped incessantly.

" Chao... Can''t... Breathe..." He hoped she would get the message. He really didn''t want her to let go. He missed Aido soo much, but he needed air to talk to her.

"She''s spent a little too much time inside I fear," Fai nodded solemnly, he''d said she needed to get out, what, over a week ago? Silly people, never listening to him. Turning back to Silent the redhead grinned, "my name''s Fai, her," he gestured to Aido, "brother, it''s nice to meet you miss Silent."

Aido blinked and promptly loosened her hold on her friend, slightly redcheeked, "sorry," she muttered, tugging on her scard in embarrasment before grinning at Angelus again, too excited at seeing her old friend to stay embarresed for long, "I just haven''t see you in so long. I missed you."

Silent nodded in understanding. " Angelus hasn''t had contact with anyone other than myself and his family at home. He needed to come back and by the looks of it, it was a wise choice." She could already tell that Angelus was warming back up to the old ways. Her brown eyes went back to the boy. " A brother? No offense, but Chao never mentioned you. I know her brother Rico, but not you." She didn''t want to seem rude, but she was a little lost right now.

Angelus chuckled as she released her hold on him. Within a moment, he had her in a hug. It was only fair. " I missed you too." He didn''t really use his telepathic abilities much. Every once in a while he did, but he slowly grew accustomed to talking verbally with others. He slowly let go and looked at Aido. " You''re big." He chuckled as he took in the form of his friend.

Today was truly one of the best days of Smerdle''s life. Sylvester wasn''t sulky or running a fever, nor was he a Crazy Nutjob. Smerdle was so thankful, in fact, that when Sylvester suggested they go to the stationery store, she had agreed even though she had other things to do. Like shop. For food. Oh well, they would just have to get a pizza tonight.

Sylvester hopped along in front of his mother, oblivious to the fact that he had been a Crazy Nutjob at all. He felt great, Morry was being quiet for a change, and he was going to play. He arrived at the door and pushed it open slowly.

"Hey!" he said, without looking around first to see who was there.

Smerdle followed a few steps behind, catching the door when Sylvester dropped it. She waved a bit at the older people in the room before sliding over to a brightly colored shelf to look around.

Fai tilted his head and nodded slowly, he didn''t think his mother had even been down to this shop in the time he''d been alive, "Oh yes, uncle Rico is Aemu''s mom but I''m her son and, well, I''m something of a recent addition to our family really," he scratched the back of his head and vaguely hopes his mother would arrive soon, it felt weird having to explain his exsistence.

Aido smiled and buried her face in his hair as they hugged a second time, smiling at the warm feeling that unfolded in her chest as Angelus said he''d missed her.

As he let go she sat back on her heels and lokoed down at his comment of her growth, "yes, I suppose so," she looked down back to her friend, "but now that I''m bigger I''ve gotten to explore more on my own." She paused, "it''s much more lonely, exploring on my own. I miss our explorations."

At the sudden greeting she looked up and over to the door and smiled to the newcomer, "hello there."

Silent nodded in understanding. " Around Gaia, one always has a recent addition to the family. Well it was a pleasure meeting you. Have you been around for a long while then?" she asked curiously. She nodded to the woman that stepped in briefly.

Angelus cocked his head to the side. " Explore on your own? We did that anyways with eachother." he chuckled. " It''s no fun to explore on your own though." he sighed. He missed their adventures.

Black wings ruffled in curiosity as a newcomer stepped in. A Tale from the scent of it. Angelus'' brown eyes scanned the newcomer and then he looked to Aido. " I don''t know him." he whispered. Was he gone for soo long that there were more Tale''s he didn''t know about? Most likely. He watched in observation.

Fai shook his head, smiling when Silent didn''t seem too weirded out at his recentness, "I haven''t been around long at all, only...a little over a month I think."

"We should go exploring again sometime soon," Aido replied with a determined nod and an excited smile at the prospect before turning her bi-colored eyes back to Sylvester, "I don''t either," she whispered quietly in return but dove into introductions anyway s her attention slipped back to the new Tale, "I''m Aido and this is Angelus, who''re you?"

Eyes. On him. Sylvester had forgotten how weird they made him feel. He involuntarily shrank back a bit before stepping forward, which resulted in kind of a wacky shuffle.

"Hi, I''m Sylvester," he said quickly to the girl who had addressed him. He watched her for a second, or rather he watched the halo float above her head. Ooo. He couldn''t exactly make out their whispering, but that hardly mattered. The girl, Aido, had said something about exploring!

"Have you been? Explorin'' I mean. All the other kids I met here do too! I..." He had been about to launch into a story about the time he had spent with his new dream friends, but he had promised them he wouldn''t. Plus, Mama was just right over there and Sylvester was sure that she would take him to the doctor again if he mentioned having dream friends at all. He scratched his neck and tried to look innocent, hoping they wouldn''t ask about his own adventures.

Aido began to fidget slightly as the new Tale''s, Sylvester''s, gaze latched onto her halo, just like everyone seemed to the first time she met them. The circlet drooped momentarily before perking up again as Sylvester asked about exploring and even began to launch into his own story about his exploration.

Smiling as she followed along she tilted her head as he suddenly stopped but tried to pick up the conversation again, "it''s nice to meet you Sylvester. I love to explore, espically since Gaia''s so big and crisscrossed, it''s like even if you explore someplace once there''s new things if you go back a second time."

Angelus watched on as Sylvester, the animal like Tale, and Aido conversed about exploration. He stepped forward, tired of being the shy one. " Why don''t explore upstairs?" he added in. He remembered the last time Aido and himself went upstairs. That was pretty fun. Memories of the backyard ruled out the Shop''s garden as a different means of adventure.

He gave a slight bow to the Tale in greeting. " I''m Angelus". His wings raised up in the air and flapped. A black feather fell from the movement.

"That''s so cool. I wish Mama would let me go all kinds of places like that."

He turned toward the winged Tale. Cool! "Yeah, let''s go!"

"Be careful," Smerdle said distractedly as she continued to browse.

Sylvester nodded to no one in particular. "Can you fly?" he said to Angelus. He had never seen another Tale fly, though he assumed Tybalt probably could.

Angelus smiled and with a burst of his wings bolted through the air. He came back around in front of the Tale and hovered a few feet above him. " Would you like me to carry you or would you rather follow?" he asked the Tale. He used to hold Aido under her arms and fly with her, but that was when she was a kid like himself. Not anymore.

Sylvester''s eyes widened considerably at Angelus'' awesome flying capabilities. But, they scared him a bit too. "That is so cool," he breathed. "I... I don''t think I want to fly though," he added. He hoped the other boy didn''t think he was too much of a wuss. "So, what''s upstairs?" he asked curiously.

Angelus smiled in understanding. His brown eyes went to the stairs that led to the second floor. " Last time I remembered we found some interesting rooms." Flying took little energy now. He had enough endurance to fly the whole time if need be. He looked back at the Tale. " You still want to go?"

"Yeah." Sylvester nodded and smiled. He glanced at his mother, looking to see if she was going to butt in, but she seemed preoccupied with the different kinds of paper. Grownups were weird. "Let''s go."

Angelus nodded and easily flew up the flight of stairs. He effortlessly lowered himself on the top of the steps. He didn''t want the other Tale to feel left out. Looking from left to right. He wondered which corridor they should go down. " Left or right?" he asked Sylvester.

Sylvester hopped up the steps after the flying Tale, excited to be on an adventure.

"Hmm. Left," he said. It looked slightly lighter, after all.

Angelus nodded and started his way down the left corridor. He walked slowly and cautiously. God knows what lay behind the many doors. As he walked, his fingers trailed along the wall. Lifting his nose into the air he sniffed to see what kind of scents lay before them. So many. But he couldn''t make out what they were. He looked to Sylvester.

" You''ve never explored before?" It didn''t seem right not to go exploring.

"Just around my house and yard a little," Sylvester said. "Mama''s scared stuff''ll happen if I''m alone other places and we don''t live around other people." Even as Sylvester said this, he knew it wasn''t true, but he couldn''t think of why. Oh well.

Angelus listened to the Tale. "Silent lets me wander off on my own. We own a lot of land at home and plus the beasts of the land no better than to do anything to me or else they have to deal with my mommy. And they don''t like an angry mommy." he commented. His eyes fell upon a cherry wood door. The knob was too high. He looked to Sylvester. He was taller than Angelus. Crouching on all fours Angelus looked to Sylvester.

" Climb on my back and open the door." He instructed the Tale. Angelus was curious to see what was behind the door.

"''Kay." He had never climbed on anyone''s back before, but there was a first time for everything. Gripping the door frame, Sylvester rested the toes of his right foot gingerly on Angelus'' back, careful not to step on his wings. He took a deep breath and hoisted himself up, turning the knob with ease. As he clumsily jumped off of Angelus'' back, he accidentally pushed at the knob on the way down. The door creaked open wide enough for a kid-sized head to peek through.

((-kicks gaia for eating her post, saluts silent and jumps back in-))

Several yards behind the two Simple Tales the shadows quivered and Aido''s head poked through, halo dim as her eyes swept over the dark hallway. Having lost the others in a moment of distraction she hoped they would be around here and smiled brightly as she caught sight of them.

The shadows twitched back into place as she pushed through the threshold, feet sliding onto the floor silently as she turned and quietly wandered down towards the others, looking over the doors they passed. For a moment she considered sliping back into the shadows and poking around on her own but-! No! Group exploration! That''s what she''d missed. Focused again she quickly moved to crouch behind the two, watching what they were doing but keeping quiet, not wanting to mess up whatever concentration they might have needed.

Angelus nearly fell on his stomach from the weight but quickly scrambled to stand on his two feet. A scent in the air caught his attention. Looking behind him, he fell backward in shock causing the door to open all the way. Chao nearly scared him to death.

" Aido! You scared me.!" He said to his friend. Brown eyes went to Sylvester. " Are you okay? What do you see?" Three pairs of eyes looked into the newly discovered room.

"Sorry," Aido replied, grimancing, but glad that Angelus didn''t seem hurt. She leant forward, "what''s in there?"

"It''s pretty dark," Sylvester said, after assuring himself that Angelus was okay. He was kind of scared of what was in there, but he didn''t want the others getting hurt either. Definitely not. He inched inside, using the tip of his nose to flick on the lightswitch. He turned around slowly, back to the wall.

"Whoa."

The room was engrossed in light. " What the?" He couldn''t believe it. What would a nursery be doing up here?

He looked to Sylvester and Aido as if they held the answers.

Aido blinked and sat back then shrugged casually, the nuresery made a bit of sense to her, "well, Linny and Khia both live or at least lived here at one point, right? Maybe it was their''s, or Linny''s sister''s or someone''s...."

"Yeah." He hadn''t known Linny when he was small enough for a nursery, and he didn''t know Khia at all, but Aido''s idea seemed like a good one.

Since he was already inside the room, he walked in a bit further, half expecting something to pop out at him.

Angelus walked deeper into the room. A wooden rocker rested next to a wooden crib. It was simple. Not too extravagent. " Makes sense." In a corner Angelus found a couple of wooden blocks. He wondered what else the room had?

Aido stood and followed quietly, running a hand over the top of the wooden cribs, quietly remembering her old crin [and the many times she''d escaped from it] and idly wondered if her old friend had once slept here. Which reminded her...she still hadn''t given him her gift.

Giving the crib one last look, and quietly vowing to either drop of Linny''s gift or track down her friend and give it to him personally, she continued to wander about the room.

While everyone appeared and roamed about, Mouu had been looking for Linny. So far he wasn''t seeing him and he frowned lightly as Jiro wandered about. While the boy was off looking bored and distracted elsewhere, Mouu watched him in concern. Lately, a lot of things had been happening to the boy.. Kali had told him about finding him on the roof with Khia.. supposedly Jiro had been carving symbols into his own legs using a chopstick.. why was unknown.. but Khia found him and helped him. Which was good.. but he''s been more withdrawn and testy lately. Though Mouu didn''t like to pry, he was half tempted to. As other Tales came in and then wandered elsewhere in the store, he blinked and looked at them heading upstairs. "Jiro.. aren''t those your friends?"

"Hmmm?" Turning away from what he had been looking at, he noticed someone heading up the steps and he shrugged. They weren''t his friends, he supposed. He didn''t talk to anyone much on a normal basis but whatever. "I guess... why?" Seeing how Mouu seemed to get a bit too pleased, he feared as he came closer. He knew there was a reason to it! Sighing as he found himself getting pushed towards the stairs, he grumbled as he got the hint. "Fiiine >>" Though he didn''t feel like it, he wandered up the steps, muttering how mean big brothers..

Sylvester had never really been small enough for a crib, but he was still small enough for toys. He approached a stripey jack-in-the-box and crouched near it, turning the handle quickly. When it popped open, an old-looking piece of paper popped out along with the required poofy clown head. Sylvester opened the folded paper only to find... nothing on it. How disappointing.

Angelus watched as Sylvester opened the Jack in the Box. He somewhat jumped in surprise but was glad no one else noticed. Looking around the room he found a small writing desk with a bookcase. Walking over, he climbed upon the chair and reached for any book within his reach.

" The Stinky Cheese man?" he said aloud. What kind of title was that for a book.

Blinking Aido wandered back towards Angelus, peering over his shoulder at the book, "''The Stinky Cheese Man'', sounds very... odd," she concluded lamely, not sure how else to peg the book''s title. Idly she looked over what else was on the table but nothing caught her eye.

With a shrug she wandered over towards the closet, peering inside, looking at the various older baby supplies that were kept inside.

Sylvester pocketed the blank piece of paper he had found as he stood and joined the other two Tales.

"Stinky Cheese Man?" He couldn''t read English, but the picture on the front of the book was enough to make him laugh anyway. He heard a faint chuckle, but assumed it was Angelus or Aido.

Angelus didn''t need to turn around to know who was in the room with them. He hadn''t seen the other Tale in a long time. His own negative feelings about the Tale long since vanished after the incident. He wished to make amends one of these days but Jiro was stubborn. It might not happy today or tomorrow, but Angelus hoped soon enough. His head turned to look at the boy.

" Hello Jiro." There was no animosity behind the tone, but gratitude that the Tale joined the small exploration.

Aido did turn at the slight chuckle, blinking as she noticed that it belonged to Jiro before smiling tenatively, she never had figured out where exactly she stood with the other Tale, and waving a hand in greeting towards the other Tale.

"Hello Jiro," she greeted warmly.

Well.. there went that cover. Ah well, it wasn''t anything bad. His eyes rested on the three there. Angelus, Aido and Sylvester. When it came to Angelus, his hatred and anger towards the other Tale had disappeared the longer he remained in his home. Actually he had no problem with him anymore.. but he was a stubborn mule and he wasn''t exactly sure how to make the first step in showing that he wished to ''mend bridges'' with him. Aido... before, he would have just ignored her. But he had spent a lot of time in self reflection and realized he had been rather babyish in his behavior towards her. It was in the past. It was done. It was over. Stop thinking about it and let it die.

Sylvester he didn''t know all that well, but he did remember him from some part. Probably Huni''s party. He had spoken to him about that odd thing called a TV, that he actually had to look up as soon as he got home. Allowing a smile, not a calculating, mean or cold but an actual smile, cross his lips, he pressed his hands together and bowed before them. It was his way of apologizing to Aido and Angelus and showing respect to all three of them. "Hello, Aido. Angelus. Sylvester. My big brother told me you three were here..." He then looked around. "Is this an exploring adventure or something?"

Oh hey, it was Jiro. He hadn''t seen all that much of the other boy, but he did remember that he had felt a lot dumber than the older Tale. Sylvester nodded in response to his question and waved briefly in response to Jiro''s bow.

"That it is." He responded to the question. His smile mirrored that of Jiro''s. Hopping down from the chair, he walked towards him. He handed the book to Jiro. " Honestly. What do you make of this?" Angelus couldn''t figure it, but Sylvester was right. It did have a funny picture on it. A gingerbread man, but made out of stinky cheese. Brown eyes looked to Aido and Sylvester.

" What do either of you think?" It was now the small mystery among the nursery room.

Aido smiled and her halo glowed softly at Jiro''s reaction, feeling some of the nervous tension that had begun to build fall away. She nodded politely to his bow before glancing back to the book in question,

"I don''t know. It seems a bit creepy though," she eyed the little cheese man on the cover warily. An animate little man made out of cheese was both bizarre and a bit frightening a prospect to her. What if people tried to eat him? Or he wanted revenge on them for eating his cheese comrades?

Looking down at the book curiously, he held it and turned it over, curious if there was anything on the back. After he found nothing to suggest anything, he turned it back to the front and studied the cover. "It''s a rather strange sounding book.. could be about a demon or something like that." A gingerbread man made of stinky cheese? Was it a twisted nursery rhyme or something?

"Maybe we should read it or something?"

Walking cheese men meant one thing... magic. Magic was awesome.

"Yeah. Open it," he urged.

Angelus looked back at Sylvester. An idea came to the Tale''s head and for some reason became overly excited. His brown eyes went back to the book. " I guess it won''t hurt to read it. Aido, will you read it?" he asked the eldest of the group.

Aido pursed her lips, releasing the bit of shadow she''d quietly gathered from the fold of her long sleeved shirt back to where they came from, having been quite prepared attempt to strike any Stinky Cheese Men that decided to come out if one of the other Tales opened the book.

Glancing to Angelus she nodded a bit, "yeah, I''ll read it," taking the book gingerly from him she opened it a bit more, making sure nothing was going to pop up and attempt to...well, eat them or something (she was never, ever agreeing to watch a horror film again if this was how it was going to make her think afterward.)

Glancing about she moved to a more open space and sat down, opening the book fully and glancing at the picture inside. She waited a moment for the other Tales to move closer then began to slowly read its contents.

He had no issues with handing the book over to Aido. It was best to let the eldest of them to read it aloud, though he was curious if anything would come out of it. If it did, he wanted to stab it with a chopstick to see what exactly it was. If it was real or just magic. Really good magic... Moving over with her as she found a place to sit down and knelt next to her, his robes shifting around him as he tried to look at it more closely. The words were weird to him. Probably English.. gah, he still couldn''t read that well yet >>.

Sylvester gathered closer to the other Tales and peered at the book. He had never been too interested in reading himself, but being read to was all kinds of cool. He shifted so he wasn''t sitting on his tail anymore and waited for Aido to begin.

Angelus also joined the half circle and sat close to Aido as well, making sure nothing would jump out. He let out a sigh of relief as only words appeared on the pages. Angelus sat back and listened the story that would soon come.

Aido took a deep breath and began, voice a bit weak but steadying and gaining a bit of confidence as she went on and stopped stumbling, she didn''t exactly have a large amount of practise with reading aloud either after all. Rather early on a dark eyebrow rose as she read about the birth then adventures of the Stinky Cheese Man to their small group.

Several minutes of reading later she read about the Ogre who seemed not to care about the Stinky Cheese Man''s stink and ate him anyway and finally stopped as the story ended, blinking and looking at the other Tales for reactions.

This story started off rather weird to him. About a piece of food that walked and talked? A bit disappointing to say the least, but the adventures were slightly amusing.. or maybe he was just morbid and horrid like that.

But then the story was over. Ah, that sucked. Aido had a nice reading voice too. With a slight wrinkle of his nose, he tilted his head a bit more. "Well.. it wasn''t about demons or anything.. and it was kind of morbid.. but it wasn''t anything bad..."

Smerdle had come looking for Sylvester several minutes before the story ended, having decided that pizza for dinner wasn''t such a good idea after all. She found the children easily since Aido''s voice carried down the hall, but Smerdle waited there until the story was done before stepping into the doorway.

Sylvester had enjoyed the story immensely, but in order to seem cooler, he nodded. "I wouldn''t eat a cheese man," he mused as Smerdle came into his view.

"Hey kid, we''ve gotta go," Smerdle said.

"Aw, mama."

"Sorry," she said. "We can come back soon."

"Okay." Sylvester stood and waved again. "Nice to meet you guys," he said to Angelus and Aido. "Bye," he sighed, including Jiro this time, since he had met him before.

Angelus waved goodbye to the other Tale. Angelus scrunched his eyebrow''s in wonderment. " The ogre ate him? Wouldn''t the stinky man be too skinky for the ogre?" Angelus couldn''t believe that such a rotten dairy product got away with so much stuff. He deserved to be eaten by the ogre. That was his philosophy. It was a tad morbid but entertaining none the less.

Aido waved to the departing Tale, "bye Sylvester, it was nice meeting you!" she called with a smile before turning back to their group and to the Cheese Man''s story.

"Yeah... it wasn''t bad. Though it''d be really weird if a cheese man actually came to life," she mused quietly, looking to the ceiling pensively at Angelus'' statement, "well... maybe the ogre was even more stinky than the Stinky Cheese man and couldn''t smell him over his own stench so just ate him and was done with it?"

"That would be rather strange indeed. But if one did appear, I would rather it be one that smells good so he can be eaten or something..." Waving goodbye to Sylvester and wishing they had more time to talk more, he scratched at his cheek rather lightly in thought. "Or maybe Ogres just aren''t picky about eating things.. and he was starving and decided he was just something to eat."

Angelus nodded. " Either way, the stinky man was eaten and the adventure ended. But personally, I would never eat a stinky cheese man if I was starving. Blegh!" Angelus made a weird face at the prospect of eating stinky cheese. Thank goodness that he didn''t rely on human food to live. It was nice to consume once in awhile, but it did himself nor Silent any good. He looked out towards the door. " Anyone else want to do something new?" The story was good but Angelus like to be active. He couldn''t stay in one spot for too long.

"Maybe..." Aido murmured before perking up at the prospect of doing something new, "yes, let''s do something new," she replied eagerly and stood, streching a bit before crouching back down, "what new thing should we do?"

Looking up at them as they talked about doing something new, he didn''t have anything against that and he pushed himself up smoothly. "Sure, what can we do?" Looking around this room again, he tried to figure out what they could possibly do. "Are we going to continue looking around here?" Since he was late, he had no idea that they had pretty much only done that.

Angelus shook his head. " I recall claw marks along the walls down the other corridor. You remember Aido." That was from one of their first explorations. Back when she was a child. " How about we find out what made those marks?" he asked to the two.

Aido nodded lightly, "yeah, I remember those." She considered this for a moment, feeling something nudge at her memory before brushing it off, "yeah, that sounds good."

He had no ideas what they were speaking of but he thought it sounded interesting. "Claw markings? Then let''s go find out who or what caused them then... it sounds like it''d be a fun mystery." Jiro actually looked rather eager to try out this adventure.

Angelus nodded his head and made his way out the door. He looked towards the opposite corridor. The marks were still there. Evident as before. He walked down the hall toward the markings. Bringing his hand up he felt the indentations in the wall. Lowering his noise he sniffed to see if any scent still stayed. Odd. He smelled almost familiar yet not. He couldn''t put his finger on it.

Aido quietly followed Angelus down the hall, running her fingers along some of the higher claw marks, digging them gently into the grooves. The shadows laced gently around the digits, their whispers floating through the back of her mind as goosebumps rose along her writ and forearm, but all she got was a vague sense of familarity and old sort of feeling from them.

As expected, she could still do squat with tracking and the Shadows, wonderful. With a sigh she pressed the shadows back into the grroves, watching them flit back into place before she looked down to Angelus, "what do you think?"

He followed them quietly a bit, pausing when he saw the claw markings. For a moment his golden eye flickered red a bit before he reached out and touched them himself. Such deep claw marks... he couldn''t have... but why? It didn''t make any sense. For a moment, he felt a sense of worry before he pushed it back. No way.. he wouldn''t think about it right now. Not til he spoke to him again. The smell he picked up was too strong, no matter how slight it was.

As his fingers dragged over the deep grooves, an odd onyx and ruby ring seemed to flicker and pulse on his left hand, middle finger. "Hmmm..." Though he could speak his mind on it, since neither had asked for his thoughts, he just kept quiet.

Angelus froze. He was feeling emotions. Emotions that weren''t his own. He looked to Aido. It wasn''t her. Realization struck. Jiro. He looked to the Tale. Something was wrong but he was being quiet about it. The transfussion. Feelings were felt. Angelus shook his head to rid himself of the emotion. "What the?" he whispered to himself. Confusion was evident. He looked to Aido, answering her question. " They seem familiar but I can''t put my finger on it. They''ve been here for so long."

He looked to Jiro. " What do you think made these?" A gut feeling inside told Angelus that Jiro knew. The emotions that came from Tale didn''t mean nothing.

Aido gave her friend a curiously concerned look as he froze and glanced to her, but didn''t comment on it, instead she nodded, "that''s what I felt too."

Her attention shifted to Jiro and she tilted her head, halo glowing softly, maybe Jiro got a different feeling from them? "yeah, Jiro, what''re your thoughts on them?"

Having been deep in his thoughts, his eyes dark with worry over what these markings meant, he jumped as they spoke to him and when he looked at them, his eyes were back to normal. "Hmm?" As he studied Angelus, he frowned mentally, having completely forgetting that he felt his emotions as well. Crap, how could he actually forget something as important as that? "I know where they came from..." His eyes gazed back at them and he ran his fingers over them again lightly, the bandages making sure he didn''t get splinters. "He must have been in a lot of pain... to make these..."

Was it right to say his thoughts, cause there was no way Linny could do something like this.. he only knew one person who could do such a thing. But what caused him to be so angry? Was he growing? Something else? ....

Angelus understood. Khia. Khia would be the only person to make markings such as those. And some of the same questions flittered through his brain. Why? He looked to Jiro and Aido. " Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this."

Silent voice rang from the bottom of the steps. It was time to go. Looking to the others, he lowered his head. " Sorry I can''t stay longer but we must get going. I''ll see you at home Jiro." He looked to Aido and gave her a smile. In an instant he hugged her legs as a goodbye. " I''ll see you soon. I promise." He told his friend. Without waiting for a reply, he flew into the air and down the stairs where Silent was waiting. In a couple minutes they left the Store and made their way home.

Aido tilted her head, running a hand absently over the marks again, this time she could feel a tighter string of recognition and the shadows'' calls grew louder. She grimanced as the feeling became to much to bear and quickly pulled her hand away, trailing bits of the tendril like shadows along with it, which she quickly shook off.

She blinked and took a firmer look at the claw marks, her own mind putting together what pieces she knew. One of the oldest of the Tales, one they all knew, and the only one to have claws, not talons or a weapon of any sort that would have been around to make the markings. The only one that fit it was Khia and the shadows were calling out their agreement.

Her brow furrowed at the thought of Khia making the marks, the question of ''why?'' rising to the forefront of her mind. Her eyes shifted to Jiro as he spoke and her frown deepened, she was deeply unsettled by the thought of her friend being in pain.

Then suddenly it was all broken, Angelus was saying his farewells and she gave him as good a hug she could before he was gone.

Looking to Jiro she sighed and flinched as a chorus of Chao and Fai's voices filtered up the hall, "seems I must be off too, sorry Jiro. It was really nice seeing you, I hope we can all get to the bottom of this," she said, sincerely in her voice and eyes. With a wave of goodbye, as she had her doubts about the other Tale actually wanting to be hugged by her, she quickly about faced and headed down the stairs before her family could become worried about where she was.

Several moments later they had left and were heading towards their own home.

Entry Thirteen: About Armel

I met the most interesting Tale today. His name is Armel and he has the most interesting of accents. Yes, I said interesting. But not in a bad way. Actually, it was rather nice speaking to him for the time we got to spend. While Shouhin made friends with Armel’s father, we spoke of our hobbies and some of them were similar, how shocking is all that.

I wanna see him make things. Or maybe we could sit and make things together. That would be rather awesome as well. I dunno… it’s weird how I felt so at ease with him. Usually, I don’t want to be near anyone nor do I feel comfy with them.

Maybe I can make friends with the other Tales… not all of them, mind. But at least with some I know I can get along with them… I can’t wait to meet up with Armel again. I think Shouhin’ll die once he hears that heh

Entry Twenty Two: A New Addition
Arrival of Luc

Right from the second he had woken up, he knew something bad was going to happen. Exactly what that was, Jiro couldn’t quite put a finger on, but he knew it was something that would make him rather irritated from a long time to come. What a strange way to feel right after waking up, honestly. A heavy sigh left him as he stretched, his little toes curling before he ran a hand through his tangled mass of hair and shifted himself off his bed. His bedroom had finally been completed some time ago, though it was still a bit bare to him. But he had a lot of space. Not even his bed took up too much space, nor neither of his two thick black wood dressers or the three large armoires that held his various kimonos and yukata that Sah couldn’t help making a lot of. It had taken forever just to get him to make the male yukata and not the girly kimonos. Like pulling teeth…

But such thoughts didn’t remain for long as he found something light to wear and then yanked his brush through his hair until it was straight. That alone took more than a half an hour and then another fifteen minutes to work it into the traditional bun he liked it in. Yanking open a drawer at his main dresser that held his mirror, he pulled out his new chopsticks and, which a quick and well practiced flick of his fingers, put them into place. Yes, yes… this would do. After he checked to make sure the bun wouldn’t easily fall apart, he grabbed his geta, slipped into them and then exited his room and headed down to the kitchen. He was damn hungry and might as well see if anyone else was awake so he could get some breakfast. Was it bad to be a bit impatient in the morning? He didn’t know, nor did he really care at that exact moment.

However, his wings flicked in warning as he reached the bottom of the steps, making him frown to himself. There was that feeling again. The one he had woke up with. A look of confusion settled over his features as he glanced around, seeing that the front door was wide open. That was odd, normally it was shut this early, unless the parents were just leaving or something. Curious despite himself, he went over to see what was going on, almost bumping into Sah’s back, who was just standing outside. But his arrival was noticed but not by his Yuhin. Mis-matched eyes found themselves locked on a somewhat bored brown and they just… stared at each other. Who the hell are you was clearly etched on both of their faces. But Jiro was getting irritated by the somewhat cocky feel to this one. There was just something that made him twitch. This boy was standing next to Akiya, who was reading over what looked like a long roll of old parchment, his hair tugged and pulled into a series of mini braids that were twisted into several different rag-tag styles. Probably Sah being bored and playing with Akiya’s hair again. It suited the tall angel… somehow. Finally, he looked down and stroked the top of Luc’s head, making the boy look up at him and blink before he looked back over at Jiro, causing the angel to turn around himself. A smile curled his lips as he shifted over to face him fully. “Morning, Jiro! When did you get up?”

“…Just now…” He was still glaring at Luc, who was glaring at him. They then shifted a brow at each other at the same time, which caused a tic to develop in Jiro’s right eye. “Who is this?”

“Ah. This is Luc. He’ll be staying with us.” Sah came forward to take Luc’s luggage and then disappeared into the house to take it into his room while Luc inclined his head in a mocking semblance of a bow. Disrespectful upstart… “He’ll be your brother now, Jiro. So I want you two to get along, okay?” His voice held a bit of a warning, since he knew quite well with how Jiro was with new people entering space he considered his. “He’ll be staying on the fourth floor with you, just a bit down the hall.”

That caused the Tale to snort and look about to say something, but Luc was already speaking and coming towards him. “It’ll be an honor to get to know you, Jiro… kun? Is that the correct way of saying it in your language?” As Luc reached the top step and faced Jiro properly, the two looked each other up and down. Luc was just a bit taller than him… that sucked hardcore. But he wouldn’t let this kid think he was better than him, cause he kept getting that vibe from him. That Luc thought he was better than him somehow. And his voice was dead. Like he was bored and only speaking because he had to. Not because he wanted to.

“It’s –san if it deals with strangers. And we’re strangers.” Jiro made sure his voice was just as unwelcoming as Luc’s, which caused the slightly taller boy to shift a brow at him before he smirked coldly. Almost like a challenge had just been issued and he was going to accept it.

“But we’re brothers now, Jiro-kun.” He even stressed the –kun part, just to watch Jiro’s eye twitch again. “Shouhin has been telling me a lot about you and I find you quite interesting. Do you get your power from runes? Or are you born with the ability to be as you are?”

Akiya only stood and watched as the lightning flared between the two, something he had almost expected but had been hoping wouldn’t happen. But Jiro wasn’t the type to just allow strangers into his safe haven and Luc wasn’t the type to back down to anything. They were a lot alike in the ways they thought, which was why he knew they’d get along well… once the glaring stopped. But that could take some time. But he had to break up Jiro’s attempt to start a fight so he headed up the steps and ruffled up Jiro’s hair, making him hiss before he tried to fix it. “Let’s go inside and get some breakfast. I want you to show him around Central Grounds, Jiro, and the forest beyond it.”

“Not on your life!” But he suddenly balked under the dark look tossed down at him b y his Shouhin. Oh… damn it, he knew that look! “….” His teeth clicked before he ground them together, growling under his breath. “… fine…” Just no damn Disney movies!! A pleased look passed over Akiya’s face before he headed off towards the kitchen, Jiro right behind him and Luc at his heels. And was it Jiro’s imagination or did he hearing a mocking snicker from that new upstart behind his back??

Entry Fourteen: Well, well… Welcome to my new Hell….

And his name is Luc. Geez, when did home become a boarding house where any dirty riff-raff was accepted, huh? And why on all the Homegrounds did he decide to bring that thing here?? He’s cocky, most definitely. Seems to know a lot about Runes or something like that. He kept asking if that was where I got my power from, which was a dumb question since that’s not where I get my abilities from. But why should I bother telling him anything about me? And why does he give a s**t anyway?

Shouhin made me take him on a tour of Central, basically Shouhin’s home area of Homegrounds. I guess to explain it better, it’s like this. Central Homegrounds is in the very center of the entire world of souls that he watches over. And depending on which direction you pick to go, it can lead to one of the many Homegrounds of the various breeds. It can be fun to see which one you could end up at when you go out and travel. But since I go hunting a lot, I know my way around rather well. I think I found a secret way into Atyri… but no telling anyone about that. Might get in trouble or something.

But that’s not something I showed to Luc. No, I gave the most boring tour ever. I almost fell asleep from it but I don’t like him. Nor his vibes. Can’t I just not deal with this please? The sooner he’s in his room and away from me, the happier I’ll be. Think it’s dumb that he’ll be on the same floor as me. But I guess I really can’t say anything. It’s not like I really can complain. It’s still Shouhin’s house and all that nonsense. So his rules go and I suffer.

I’m gonna hurt him somehow… just you watch.

Entry Twenty Three: Zyukori Marketplace
Jiro’s trip with Kali

“Come on. I’m gonna take you somewhere fun.” Was the strange greeting he had gotten from Kali that day. Usually, Kalhali, called Kali for short cause people tended to stumble over his name, was in his room or in the library reading. He wasn’t huge on dealing with people much, not even his own family, no matter how much he cared for them. Sure, he could tolerate their company, but sometimes he just didn’t like being bothered. Mouu’s elder by about four seconds or so, he was rather serious and took his life and everything he did in the same way. Once his mind was set to something, it didn’t change. It stayed that way until something drastic made it change. And Jiro adored this brother the most out of everyone. Kali was his Idol, though it was really hard to fully explain why he thought that way about him. And he was at the moment thinking about it outside the house, kicking his scuffed boots against the steps leading to the house. Kali told him to wait there and he would join him shortly and then disappeared into the house again. It was more than odd for him to go to the Dojo to get him and tell him to stop training. And for the reason to not have anything to do with Akiya at all.

But Kali said it’d be fun… and if he found it fun, then it simply had to be somewhere the Tale had to see. Yawning a bit and then giving his head a rough shake to clear the slight drowsiness from it, he was half tempted to get up and go into the house to get Kali when the taller teen came back out, a book firmly in hand. Not once had Jiro ever seen him without a book. He even had one in hand when he took naps or slept for the night. Catching a quick glance at the cover and seeing it was something to do with the basics of time/space continuum, he wrinkled his nose a bit and focused on him. Kali dressed in a style similar to Jiro’s fighting gear; knee high boots that were buckled in several places but looked like they weighed a bit. Black pants that were snug about his lanky hips but got baggier as they got closer to his boots, the sides slashed open but tied with leather straps. Today he didn’t bother with a shirt, showing the tail end of the skeleton dragon tattoo he had that sprawled over most of his body. And on his hands were his gold guided gloves that served as gauntlets. But his usual shirts were Chinese in nature and sleeve-less for the most part. “Sorry about that.” He tossed his frost white hair out of his vision before he reached down and took Jiro’s hand. “Had a few things I wanted straightened out before we went anywhere.”

“It’s fine.” Jiro didn’t care that Kali was holding his hand, even though he was particular about it. He wasn’t a baby and therefore, didn’t need to be guided anymore, least by his reckoning. But Kali didn’t make it seem like a force issue. He did it to keep him close, since he knew there were Kuulatris out there who were fascinated by his little brother… and had tried to kidnap him more than once. So Kali was making sure no one else tried anything stupid. “So, where exactly are we going to today that’s so fun?” Jiro was carefully watching the path they were following, mainly cause he liked knowing each path to walk about to get anywhere. This was a different path than he was used to so he couldn’t help being curious.

A smile curved the teen’s lips as he took Jiro off the main path and down one that seemed to not be used overly often but a path was still semi-clear. “You haven’t been to Zyukori yet, have you?” The question made Jiro frown a bit. Zyukori Homegrounds was where he had always wanted to go to but Akiya always said no about it. Mainly because it was the one place where Jiro could find all the weapons he could possibly want and he wasn’t about to tempt that boy anymore than he already was. “I know Shouhin doesn’t allow it… and though I understand his reasoning, I figure that if you went with someone else, then it should be okay.” Dark burgundy eyes shifted to look down at his little charge, pleased to see how those eyes lit up with excitement. Jiro was always such a loner and though he didn’t outwardly show it, Kali worried about his little brother. Sure, he wasn’t a brother by blood, but such things didn’t matter to Kali. When he had been brought to the house and Akiya told him to look after him, Kali saw him as blood. And that was all that mattered to him, really. So seeing him happy was high on his list of important things.

“We’re really going?! To the Marketplace?!” The center of all trading and shopping was the Zyukori Marketplace, the Zyukori pride and joy. For the majority, the marketplace made up about 90% of Zyukori Homegrounds and it was the largest place of social interaction in the entire world for them. It had been that way on their first world, so Jiro had learned from Kali, and it was still the same in Akiya’s home. Anything one could want could be found there; from weapons to clothing for all breeds to candy to shoes. It was said that the four Guilds of Zyukori managed a section but the Elder ruled over them all. Kali said it was like a Lord of the Rings sort of thing, and that the Elder was the “Master Ring”, which always amused Jiro. “Really!?”

Snickering, Kali took him through the wooded path, the sounds of the various animals milling around causing Jiro’s head-wings to perk and shift around. The boy was a hunter, through and through, and it didn’t matter how often he heard them, he couldn’t help wanting to take them down to bring home to Sah or to feed Mico, his hellhound. “Yeah. I’ll show you everything there is to see about it. But no weapon buying. I promised Shouhin. You can look, but don’t touch.” And he knew that though Jiro would sulk about it, he would listen to him. Maybe being an idol wasn’t a bad thing after all.
